Friday, September 1 @1pm ET (link below)

I have gotten a lot of questions surrounding my decision not to pursue a herding breed for my next service dog after my recent video. In light of the response to the poll earlier this week, I've decided to do a lunch and learn this Friday to talk about this decision in more detail, and nuance, than can be put in a public-facing YouTube video.

I also plan to talk about my personal experiences with herding dogs and disability, and I feel safer doing that here, with you folks, who have been so incredibly supportive of me and my channel, rather than on the public internet.

So if you're looking for your next prospect, or are just curious about what factors have gone into this decision, please join us. But first, please read the note below.

Important Note/Trigger Warning: I don't think I can talk honestly and openly about my experience with herding breeds and my goals with my next service dog without also talking about symptoms of, and medical episodes surrounding my disabilities, as the choice of a service dog breed is incredibly personal.

Please note that the discussion may include topics surrounding or related to PTS, panic attacks, neurodivergency, hEDS, complex migraines, depression, anxiety and hospitalization. While I don't plan on going into great detail on any of my experiences with these topics, some of them may come up in the course of discussion around herding breeds.

This discussion could also potentially prompt some big feelings surrounding the breed(s) of dogs that you love, or may currently work, or are planning to work as your service dog. The intention of this talk is not to disparage herding breeds. However, sometimes my objectivity and bluntness can come off as callousness, and I promise that that is not my intention. I love herding breeds. They are my favorite, and I have dedicated the entirety of my adult life to living with and working with them. That being said, I will be talking honestly about my experience, good and bad with various breeds.

Please take care of yourself, and If this isn't the right time to listen to this live, please skip it.
