I can’t write much at the moment, but I have to point out the timing of this season is insane, at the exact same time as both Jack Quaid playing a totally good and pure Superman, and the girl he killed in The Hunger Games getting her own hit show.

Boy, this crew just gets more frustrated every season with certain people not realizing they're the ones it's mocking, huh? I've seen a lot of people accuse it of getting lazy in its satire and just cramming the word "supe" into real life assholes, but if that's what it takes I'm all for it (and there have indeed been a hilarious bunch of people going all "Is this fucking play about us?" since the season started). Still really hoping that Sage is pulling her own scam with all this, and I'm feeling quite vindicated that her big idea to frame Starlight took a grand total of one episode to destroy. At least she's bringing the sass in the meantime, and every time you get to see that is a joy. It's a big relief that Frenchie's new romance actually has a purpose beyond "There's still queer stuff on the show, we swear." Still would have been nice if they didn't have to wreck the relationship the last three seasons were obviously building toward, but at least it should bring the drama later. So is there a crew member on this show whose entire job is coming up with wacky sex stuff, like that guy from Battlestar Galactica who only cut the corners off everything? Because if so, kudos dude.

Again, still behind on this show, but my brother has talked about how he loves the reactions from the, shall we say, deluded fans who don’t get it through their thick skulls what’s being mocked. I remember he talked about how ultra right-wingers got big into Homelander, and when...certain things happened, I don’t know specifics, the same fans imploded, yelling, “Wait! WHAT the FUCK!?” before devolving into crybabies. In terms of the satire being lazy, I know my brother’s continuously mentioned dissatisfaction with the one Stormfront twist. He was fine with the arc before it went too literal as he finds it to be a little too much of a crutch to lean on. I haven’t seen the show yet, so I can’t judge either way. I mean, I’d be on board for more of the “Are we the baddies?” type of reactions from certain asshole fuckwits. It’s possible on there being a crew member coming up with the sex scenes. I know there’s the behind-the-scenes story of The Final Conflict where for the plot point of Damien going King Herod, the director paid the kid in the cast a small lump sum for every creative infant death he could think of. With that in mind, stands to reason that there’s a guy earning his bread coming up with the wild and crazy sex scenes on The Boys.
