Oh, ok, well, thank you for the heads up about next week’s reaction not being until Tuesday. Now to the episode. Yes, we had a lot going on this episode. I got deeply concerned and uncomfortable when Genet took the one woman’s baby. I could see you were a touch unsettled as well. The pigeon man’s death was a bit of a gut-punch, particularly your reaction to it. Seeing the tears well up a bit in your eyes got me some. The interrogation scene was a highlight, especially how although Daryl does not parlez-vous français, he gets the gist, and says, “All right. You want to act like a French pig, I’m going to treat you like a French pig.” I loved how it felt like Daryl tapped into a little Negan energy. As Negan himself described, put on a show and be a monster when he had to be. I love how when Daryl offers Isabelle the opportunity to not see anything grislier, she insists on staying. I nodded in respect, saying, “Suit yourself, Sister.” Yeah, it is a touch surprising about the guy being relatively ok following Daryl’s using him as a pincushion. I assume either Daryl knew where to stab and/or the stabs were reasonably shallow. Still a bit jarring though. Quinn is surely proving himself an asshole, also dumb. I rolled my eyes at his realization of the diversion, saying, “Yes, lovely, you have demonstrated a firm grasp of the obvious.” Most enjoyable seeing Daryl beat him up. It does cause the heart to sink, Isabelle going back to him for Daryl and Laurent’s sake. I share your faith she’ll find a way out. I suspect Anna will prove an ally in some way, particularly after she just let Daryl walk away with Laurent. I’m anticipating Anna more overtly turning on Quinn, leading me to note, “Your paramour is going to stab you in the back, mon copain, and it is going to be GREAT.” I do hope Isabelle is able to reunite with Daryl and Laurent. If not, I was touched by her farewell to them. Clémence was excellent in that scene. As I said on youtube, a surprising highlight of your reactions is the budding relationship between, I believe their names are Sylvie and Emile. I apologize if I’m wrong on the names. They do provide some quite lovely, cute moments, I do concur on that. When Emile got clipped in the leg, you crossed my mind, and I loved how when you saw it, you affirmed that he cannot die as he is one half of the cuteness of this show as you described. That made me laugh and smile. So, all in all, a great reaction. No worries about the delay for the next one. Thank you, Jess, for this reaction, and the lovely time sharing this show with you, which yes, it does feel like it’s breezed by. Thanks again for the great reaction, Jess.
