that's unfair to compare aang's firebending to korra's when they are both in the avatar state. Aang had sozin's comet to boost his firebending

C.F. Rilgar

Given that you may stop after episode 2, is the desire to discontinue motivated by your lack love for the show or simply the desire to do something else? I imagine Overanalyzing something you don’t actually love is less enjoyable. We’ll watch whatever you post of course.

Korra just doesnt have that dog in her

Really hoping you continue with season 2!

I'm ready to upgrade / renew my membership!

This episode of overanalyzing was hilarious. I really hope you continue, I am interested to see your gripes with verik, as he is my favorite character in all of Korra

Artichokio

Also why can Korra just trigger the Avatar state whenever she wants? Aang had to let go of everything to get that power, but Korra just seemingly has that power out of nowhere

Sargent _Carrot69

Okay, so the concept of guns just probably doesn't exist, and even if it did, as far as we know they wouldn't be able to make them. We don't see any catalyst like gun powder other then blasting jelly, which probably wouldn't work in a bullet, meaning that at most, only a fire-bender could use a gun, and it would probably be some kind of glorified dart gun, or a tube that you can put to a combustion benders forehead.

Sargent _Carrot69

So how I understand the avatar state to be like, is that you get all of the experience of the previous avatatrs, giving you a huge advantage, as well as calling on their power. But their seems to be 2 types of avatar states, before you have the fully realized avatar. The Vengful avatar state, and the controlled avatar state. THe vengful avatar seems to be using all the power of their previous lives all at once, which is why we see massive feets of bending like we see Aang do in the Ozai fight. But the downside is that you aren't in control of your actions. This is the state we see Aang enter almost everytime he goes into the Avatar state. The controlled avatar state however seems to only provide a slight boost, but gives you contol of your actions. This state is the one we see Korra mostly use.

Seeing this series continue would be dope, I'm loving it ! If it's burning you out though I get it man, prioritize your mental health and creative drive.

Narowneck

Ya if u need to take a break and make so none avatar episodes for a bit that would be cool but I really hope u do the rest of Korra!

AnnaDogPlatonic1

If you need a break or just have no passion to continue overanalyzing Korra then we support you, I wonder where you'll go next in your creative journey. Will you ever analyze on of the newer one-shot comics like the Azula or Suki ones?

Data Analysis Cosby

Understandable if you didnt finish tbh, idk how many times I could analyze Korra book 2 without going at least a little insane

Manura Ariyathilake

I think her fire blasts were weak because she didnt want to do too much sanage to the surroundings

No idea what you mean by a scary woman's face. Korra's face looks dark because objects behind a light source that projects outwards look darker. That's why, for instance, it's hard to see someone who is pointing a flashlight at you in the dark. Before the term "booster rocket" referred to space propulsion, it referred to sticking something like a firework on something like an arrow to make it go faster. You're right, Beifong would think that's terrible police work because no one in the truck died. As for the south, they're hyped to see Unalaq right now because he's basically a do-nothing celebrity. It's once he starts trying to actually exercise control of the south that it becomes a problem. And I don't know if I just have really weird biases, but I think "I'm fuckin' 'bout to make it the end of the world" was your funniest line yet. I kind of see what you're saying with the Avatar State, but also, Korra doesn't really need to go all-out. Aang didn't have control over the Avatar State, which led to him doing a lot of collateral damage. Also, they're in the south at night in the deep of winter, which presumably counteracts some of the boost to her firebending. That brings up the question someone else had about how she can control the Avatar State without letting go of attachments, & that's always been weird given Yangchen directly contradicted it, but if we assume it's a requirement, that is more evidence of the theory that Book 1's ending involves Korra contemplating ending it all. In that moment, she was letting go of the world & thinking of just leaving it altogether so it could have a new Avatar. I do not see a disconnect with the waterbending. We've seen before that water glows & heals people, & I don't know about you, but most people tend to get up my butt when I suggest a physical basis for healing at all. Actually, you're kind of at odds with most of the fanbase now, which has generally accepted the line that "bending is about spirituality, not rules." I'm not saying that makes you wrong. I myself hate that line so much. I'm just saying that's kind of an uphill battle, & spiritbending follows pretty logically from healing having established that there's a link between water & chi energy. I actually think there's too much blame on Korra in this season. This is after Korra found out that it wasn't Aang who decided she should be kept in a White Lotus compound, but rather Tonraq & Tenzin, right? That's why she was mad at her dad at the dinner? So, yeah, they kinda have some shit-eating coming. On top of that, she makes a very valid point that Unalaq is the only one who demonstrated he knows what she needs to learn. If the only rebuttal is "she should know he's evil because of tropes," that's not very convincing because Avatar has never been the kind of franchise where characters act like they know they're in a fictional story & have expectations based on that. And whether or not she's "being mean" aside, she asks Mako if she did the right thing. She's looking over the cliff sadly because her feelings are torn. The only thing I didn't touch on so far was the gun thing. I don't think it's all that interesting. We do know from Avatar Legends that there's a kind of primitive firearm which was basically just you put a single-shot cannon on a spear. So, we see they have the prerequisites like gun powder, barrels, & trigger mechanisms, leading to some primitive guns & gun-like objects, but there's just not a huge incentive to develop them. The militaries of the world prioritized bending, the Equalists focused on non-lethal weapons & larger war machines, & the upgraded mecha tanks that come around in Book 4 make guns almost superfluous.

Lord Commander Argyll

Korra did let go of everything. After Amon took her bending she was at her lowest point (so far) and had let go of everything she thought she was, and therefore was spiritually open for the first time. Aang says as much with the "greatest change" quote (also Aang just kind of unlocked it for her maybe, because Korra's S1 finale is messy).

Deleralia

Please keep doing the series! Im really looking forward to Korra Season 3 from you because that one had my favorite villain.

Jake N

pls pls pls pls pls continue

Sheen

Ik you’re having a harder time finding positive things to dive into. but frankly as someone who has mixed feelings about Korra as well its nice to see your take on it. Keep it up if you’re feeling it, but certainly put your needs first man. All the best to you!

Thomas Cassidy

I am enjoying the overanalysing Korra even more than than overanalysing avatar because you have found you narrative stride and I am liking the material a lot. It is the only thing that makes me laugh out loud.

Dez

Pls continue your my favorite YouTuber the only one I even support on Patreon

Lapischu

Really look forward to these videos, your style is incredibly entertaining. Whether you continue Korra or move on to a different series to overanalyse, will absolutely be here for it ❤️

Leonard Marston

Please do all of season 2. Not even just because of ripping it apart or whatever, I just REALLY want to hear your actual thoughts on it and what it did to the franchise. Plus there’s still good moments here and there. I think we all really want you to do Season 3 too because it’s really good! So if Season 2 overanalyzing ends up being mostly negative you can balance it with a mostly positive Season 3!!

PsyghKick

You're on the cutting edge of show analysis and critique, and your personal flair is endlessly entertaining. You should finish Korra, unless it causes you great pain to do so.

DukeApples

I love that you just say everything you want to say, very funny,

Matthew Cameron

nerd fact the avatar tabletop rpg has a gun like device

Holliday

Season 2 is definitely a struggle but mannnnn I want to see you get to season 3. I think Zaheer is one of the most interesting villians in the avatar universe. Would love to hear your take on that season.

maskofthedragon

Aang just slipped her the password to unlimited Avatar State, no self-reflection needed

Jack Putnam
