Chapter #5: Lord Malfoy's tantrum.

The funeral went as expected; it was grim and sad for the loved ones. Susan was so devastated that she wanted to get buried instead of Lucius, but of course, she had to be stopped by her bodyguard. Harry was surprised by how people behaved in pureblood circles; they threw money at the coffin as it was buried in Malfoy’s manor.

After the burial, Susan was placed in a room that only Harry could access, as it was closed with a password charm that Hermione invented, that charm would’ve been too useful during the horcrux hunt, he did this because he needed to speak with Draco, he knocked at the main office of the manor where the lord works, as he knew he would be there.

“Come in,” said the man in a drunken voice. “Ah…Potter, the savior,” he said sarcastically.

“Okay Malfoy…I know you don’t like me, and I don’t like you either, but…Your father hired me, if you have any consideration for his memory, at least try not to antagonize me, especially when there’s clearly someone trying to kill your father's wife…Or you!” Harry’s words were cold but real.

That’s why Draco didn’t react in the best way; he threw the glass that was almost full of liquor on the floor, the pieces shattered, and the floor got stained with the beverage.

“Listen to me…You don’t know anything about my father or my family, so…Don’t try to make the rules here…I AM LORD MALFOY NOW!” Malfoy said as he grabbed Harry by the collar.

Due to his training in the secret service, Harry could’ve easily taken care of him, but he let him have his moment; he needed to be with Susan, any wrong move and he could get thrown out.

“So…What is Lord Malfoy going to do now? Get drunk? Whine and feel entitled? Tell his father to do something? Oh wait…That’s not possible now, right?” Harry knew he was getting into dangerous territory.

Still, he didn’t care about that; catching the killer was the top priority to keep Susan safe, but if the lord of the family didn’t get in touch with reality, things could escalate worse than they are at this moment.

“What do you want me to do, Potter? I have no idea how to take care of my father's legacy. I can't protect his wife!” Draco said on the verge of tears. “Father…Why did you have to die!” Draco screamed at his father’s painting.

Lucius only looked at him with disdain.

“So disappointing to see my heir like that…Even someone like Potter…With his blood status, he knows what’s important…You can't self-destroy yourself yet, Draco…You need to protect Susan as my killer is out there too, and I’m sure she’s the one who’s currently the most in danger!” Lucius' painting told his son with a disappointed tone.

“She’ll be fine…It’s clear that the killer wanted a Malfoy, it’s me…I’m the one in danger!” Draco complained.

“Draco…I don’t want to sound snarky, but…You’re forgetting the fact that she was married to your father, and even if you want to think that she’s just a Malfoy by marriage…She could potentially be pregnant,” Harry suddenly intervened.

He had no idea if that was the case, but maybe mentioning his possibly unborn sibling could make him snap back to reality. If that didn’t work, he was going to use his secret weapon, a person he would never refuse…His mother, Narcissa, who is luckily friends with Harry, so, he can ask her for almost anything.

They had a short-lived affair in the Muggle world as he showed her how to live there, but then they realized they were better as friends who fuck from time to time, it was crazy. He had something with Lucius’ ex-wife, and now he was attracted to his last wife.

After hearing Harry’s implication about Susan’s pregnancy, Draco remained silent. He didn’t say anything for a while, then he got on his feet and looked at Harry with a serious expression.

“I need to go…There’s somewhere else I need to be,” Draco told him before leaving this place.

Harry couldn’t help but sigh. This was not going as he thought it would be.

“Sorry for my son's attitude…He can sometimes be truly a piece of work,” Lucius' painting told him with a disappointed expression.

“Most of us are Monets, in his case, he's more like a Joan Miró..." Harry sighed. "Now you know the side you weren’t aware of and the version I’ve dealt with since I arrived in this world,” Harry said sarcastically.

“You two need to find a way to work together, Susan and our potential child could be in danger, this is an order, Potter…Don't forget that you’re mine for a year!” Lucius' painting ordered him.

Harry just rolled his eyes.

"Now I can safely say that there's no doubt you're Draco's father," Harry said sarcastically. “Don’t boss me around, Lucius, I could’ve run away from this responsibility, and no one would’ve cared…But I can’t deny I’m worried about Susan,” Harry commented with a sad expression.

“Well, do something then…Just bitching around will not help her!” Lucius' painting complained.

“Shut the fuck up…Don’t you think I already know that?!” Harry was getting annoyed with the painting. “Instead of being a nuisance, you need to tell me if you have any idea if she had enemies, a stalker, or someone suspicious…” Harry demanded the painting.

The painting remained thoughtful for a while, which annoyed him because it didn’t need to do that, after all, it’s a painting, but the artificial intelligence behind these paintings was so good that it made you forget they were just holograms instead of ghosts or spirits.

“Well, back then, when Draco, Narcissa, and I were attending ourselves in St. Mungo’s, it seems like a young man was sending her roses, but that was some time ago, I don’t think things would be too easy, but maybe he resented me for stealing Susan from him, maybe it was her ex-boyfriend Ernie something…” Lucius told him with a thoughtful expression.

“Ernie Macmillan? I remember him from Hogwarts; he was a jerk, but a coward. I doubt he could do something like this because of love,” Harry wasn’t convinced.

“Well…Maybe the fact that the Death Eaters killed all his relatives only added fuel to the fire,” Lucius said with a serious tone.

After hearing that, all the sympathy he had for the older blonde was gone; still, he was an investigator, no suspect should be discarded too easily, no matter how ridiculous the accusations may seem, as for Macmillan, either we have a true idiot or a genius playing 4D chess.

“I’ll investigate him,” Harry told the painting. “What about you? Do you have any enemies? Maybe some foreign ones?” Harry knew he was implying some weird things, but he wanted to see if there was a relation between Lucius' death and the "orgasm drug".

“Not that I think of but…I can let you borrow my diary, it’s in a place no one could ever find…” The painting said with a calm tone.

Soon, Harry moved as the thing ordered him; he had to press a button under the bookshelf, another under the desk, another under a pot, and another behind the painting. After that, as if this were a video game, a chest appeared in the middle of the room.

Inside the chest, there was a book, and Harry quickly saw that it was a book filled with Lucius' memories from the moment he started to write to a week ago when he last wrote on it. As he looked at the book, Harry realized he had lots of work to do.
