Chapter #28: New world order.
Dumbledore didn’t want to be himself right now. The plan failed, Harry Potter was more than well, and not only that, according to some sources, it seems like he has met the British prime minister; it’s only a matter of time before Harry meets the royal family, who are distantly related to the Potters, so their support will be more than obvious.
Right now, he was at his home, waiting for someone to arrive, and then he heard the door open, so, he didn’t waste time and soon met the guests. There were four people, all of them dressed in cloaks, and they had masks.
“Good evening, gentlemen…Lady,” Dumbledore tried to make the situation more amicable.
They didn’t say anything for a while, the masks had one letter in the forehead, there was a man with “G” he took his mask revealing a young blonde man, another had a “M” and soon, a dark haired young man was revealed, another one had a “L” this was a young red-haired man and the last one with the “Z” was revealed to be a pale blonde woman, all of them could’ve easily passed as muggle models.
“Ah…I see that you have new forms, it’s a nice use of Polyjuice potion…” Dumbledore tried to compliment them.
It was so weird to see such an aged wizard being so respectful towards people younger and weaker than him; however, when he became chief warlock, he had to sign a contract in which he pledged loyalty to his true masters. At the time, he thought the contract referred to the general public, but how wrong he was.
“…Members of the secret government, Gravity, Minus, Lumos, Zero,” Dumbledore added with a calm tone.
These four people, even if they were under the effects of Polyjuice potion, Dumbledore knew very well they were much younger than him, even if he hadn’t met their true identities. This was so humiliating for him, but knowing that once his term ends, he’s going to get obliviated makes him feel better.
“Albus…We hate to see you so quickly after our last meeting, but…As you know, your plan failed,” Lumos, the red-haired wizard, said with a cold tone.
Dumbledore gulped, because of the contract, there was nothing he could do if they decided to kill him; he couldn’t even defend himself against these strange people. Every day, he wakes up disappointed in himself for getting into this situation.
“Not only is Potter alive, but the general public has made him into a hero. Now we’re risking a revolt if Potter somehow dies, it doesn’t matter the reason, if Potter wakes up dead, people are going to blame our government,” Zero, the blonde woman said before sighing.
“As you know, we cannot allow ourselves to go through that, not after the danger Riddle almost put our country through,” Minus, the dark-haired man, said with a cold expression.
Lumos couldn’t help but groan at the mention of that name.
“What do you guys suggest we do?” Asked Dumbledore, truly not knowing how to proceed from this. “It seems like muggles are making their moves too. I’ve heard Potter was seen with the British prime minister. I don’t know what they talked about, but it seems like the meeting went well, according to my sources,” Dumbledore explained.
“Your sources?” Asked the blonde woman with a curious expression.
“Okay, I used legilimency on one of the minister’s muggle bodyguards. I was only able to see Potter entering and going out of the room with the minister and a woman whose face I couldn’t see…Whoever she is, she’s good with magic; she was able to censor her appearance in case someone tries to find who she is,” Dumbledore explained with a serious tone.
“This is not good. Magic is something precious; you’re either born with it or not. We can’t allow those who don’t have it to benefit from it; I don't care if we go extinct, but if magic gets normalized, we’re going to lose what makes us special,” Gravity said bitterly.
Dumbledore really didn’t know what to think about this situation; on one hand, he used to believe in what Harry now believes, but on the other hand, he needed to do a good job to please these people, or else he was going to get replaced and not in a peaceful way.
“I don’t know what we can do, but we need to try something…He’s becoming stronger and more influential with each day that passes by. There will come a moment when we won’t be able to stop him,” the red-haired man commented with a desperate tone.
“Wait a minute…” The blonde woman soon got on her feet.
She started to move around, and then she smirked.
“I think I know what we can do to get rid of him…” She smirked, and Dumbledore knew this wasn’t going to end well for Harry. Well, that was their duty, right? To protect their world in any way they can.
Meanwhile, for the first time in his life, Harry was flying on a chopper. He was surprised to see the crops and how the countryside looked from above. He had only seen satellite images of this, but this was so much better. Penny was watching the scene with complete amusement.
However, things started to get weird once they arrived at Stonehenge, as a portal was suddenly opened. Any other wizard would’ve been worried about this because the tourists that come here could’ve seen that display of magic; however, the reason they were not worried about being spotted is because the chopper was invisible.
Once they entered the portal, they were soon taken to a secret military facility. Something most muggle governments in the world use to develop their most secret projects, while the curious people think the top-secret projects are in places like Area 51, those places are actually decoys, at least for Western countries. The real location is inside this portal; here, they have everything they need.
“Well, Harry…Welcome to our installations, it’s not so luxurious, but it’s ours,” Penelope joked around.
The place was more than luxurious. The place was an airstrip, and it was guarded by both wizards and soldiers. Harry was surprised to see a saucer-shaped vehicle being moved by the crew.
“No way…Don’t tell me that…Is it really a UFO?” Asked Harry with a shocked expression.
“Please don’t say that word, Harry, that’s offensive for their tripulants, we use UAP, it’s a fancier word,” Penelope smirked at him.
Harry was very excited because of the UFO; he felt as if he were back in time when he was obsessed with this stuff.
“Okay, okay…How did you guys get that UAP?” Harry couldn’t help but gulp at the sight.
“That thing? It was recovered in Scotland; luckily, we have the wizards from the secret service, or else, people would’ve ended up seeing the mess that UAP made in the terrain,” the minister sighed.
“And the pilots?” Harry asked, and he was more excited than before. Being in a place like this was a dream come true for someone like him.
“Ah, this is the part that I hate, they’re probably dead, but let’s not worry about what we cannot control, oh, and speaking about controls, have I said anything to you about our plans once the status of secrecy is over?” The minister yapped around.
But Harry was too happy to pay attention, he was now more interested to see more of this place.
