Chapter #42: Priorities.

Everyone in the room now was on one knee while Harry was standing tall and proud, his defeat, his downfall, all these people were trying to achieve that, but today won’t be that day.

“All of you trying to claim credit for what my ancestors did is disgusting,” Harry spat. “You should be lucky that Henry Potter, the first, allowed your ancestors to become friends with him,” Harry spat as he walked around the room as if he owned it.

He especially looked at Malfoy with hatred.

“Did you know that your ancestors used to work for Henry Potter? The man was insane, honestly. I’ve found his biography in my family’s library. He fought alongside Muggles with his sword and wand. He fought alongside them to free the world from the magical creatures that dominated the earth back then,” Harry smirked.

They knew where this was going, they had probably made him snap and now, he was going to become a tyrannical leader, they screwed up, they should’ve gotten rid of him when he was just a baby but the protections on his relatives’ home prevented them from achieving that, it wasn’t until he turned eighteen that it was fair game to kill him.

However, Cyrus was involved in the illegal dueling pit. He always bet in Potter’s favor, which granted a lot of money; never in his life had he won so many bets, so he saw usefulness in the young wizard, and if he continued like that, he could’ve jumped to professional dueling, under his management, of course, maybe he and Daphne would've ended up together, and he would be under his control.

However, destiny had other things in store. The fact that he was actually the one who was supposed to destroy the dark lord changed everything. Now he had all the money he needed, so there was no need for him to risk his life in the fighting pits. At first, they decided to leave him alone.

However, soon he became a threat to their world and society; there was a reason why the secret government implemented the statute of secrecy a few centuries ago, and now Potter was planning on bringing it down. Just the thought of doing something like that is insane for these people.

“However, Henry wanted to change the world, and so, he gave positions of power to his faithful servants, they were his close friends, I'm talking about your ancestors of course, he created the secret government and he became the leader but it came with responsibilities that the rest weren’t up to, the four of them had the same authority, however, there are moments when the opinion of the leader is what matters the most. I’m tired of you guys holding back the human civilization,” Harry spat angrily.

The fact that he didn’t mention wizards or muggles meant that he clearly meant everyone.

“This organization was created to make our world better, and things were great until the conflicts that took place since the start of the 20th century, I know some people are going to be worried about muggles’ reaction to magic but in case things go wrong, we have the global obliviation charm to make everyone forget our existence so we can go back to how things were in case we screw up,” Harry said as he reached a window.

Soon he started to look at the garden and then at the sky.

“It’s time for the human race to reach a new potential; magic and science combined could make wonders,” Harry declared. “Just to make things clear, in case I become some kind of tyrannical figure, the ring is designed to kill me, so you don’t have to worry about that. However, all of you planned something nasty against me tonight, it won’t go unpunished, but I won’t do that today, I’m tired, and we have a lot of work…I want you to call for an emergency meeting with the chief warlock and supreme mugwump,” Harry demanded.

He couldn’t wait to be back with Hermione and the girls; they’re for sure going to get a shock because of what’s going to happen next. The others did as they were ordered and soon, Dumbledore arrived with a smirk on his face.

“It’s a bit late, but I guess you want to celebrate Harry Potter’s death and—” the old wizard said cheerfully until he saw the person he wasn’t expecting to see, or at least not alive.

When Potter asked permission to attend the party, he gladly allowed him, after all, he was supposed to die in this party, and so, he was going to cover up the murder and he was going to tell everyone that he had no idea where he went, he was going to obliviate all the people Harry knew, so, the plan was perfect, however, there he was, sitting in the middle between four people he hadn’t seen in a long time.

“Zabini, Greengrass, Malfoy, is that Bellatrix Lestrange?” Asked Dumbledore with a shocked expression.

Then it clicked, the secret government and their obsession about getting rid of Harry, the code names now made sense, it was the first letter of their last names.

“Dumbledore, I’m glad you joined us, old friend,” Harry’s tone was cold.

Even the aged wizard couldn’t help but feel chills run down his spine.

“Harry I—” Dumbledore stuttered.

“Stop it, Albus…Don’t insult my intelligence more than you’ve already done…You pretended to be my friend and then tried to stab me in the back once you had no use for me,” Harry spat.

Dumbledore looked at the ground, completely ashamed of his actions; he knew he had done a horrible thing.

“I know about the magical contract you signed to serve these bastards; however, you need to know something, I’m actually a member of the secret government, and not only that, but I’m also a descendant of the sole founder,” Harry’s words made him gulp.

The aged wizard didn’t know how he was going to get out of this situation. He thought they were going to celebrate, but now it was all over, and he knew he was dead.

“You should be happy that Snape didn’t kill me, because indirectly you would’ve killed a member of the secret government and you’re bound by contract not to do that, right? So, here you are living and breathing, everybody is happy, right?” Harry asked sarcastically.

However, the fact that he knew Snape was behind his murder was something that took him aback.

“Oh? Fuck, it slipped off me, I was saving that for another moment, but ah, what the hell…I saw my mother in the afterlife. I was on the verge of dying,” Harry’s words shocked everyone.

“D-Did you see Lily?!” Dumbledore couldn’t believe it.

“Yes, and she told me what you and Snape did. Also, she told me about the person who betrayed them, it was someone you trusted with your life, and that you've let him do whatever he wanted with students…Snape,” Harry’s words were harsh.

Harry could forgive someone who was bound by contract to follow orders even if he didn’t believe them, but Dumbledore knew that he was the one who betrayed his parents and never told him a thing, nor punished him.

“You knew I was looking for the traitor, and you hid that information from me. I don’t know how long you have known about that, but you never told me; instead, you used that to turn him into your rabid dog so he could kill me,” Harry was angry.

Yes, he was going to make everyone who wronged him pay, but everything will come with time.
