Chapter #24: Memories.

There was a gruesome scene at Riddle Manor. Lucius Malfoy’s arm has been destroyed by Bellatrix’s wand. She was supposed to be weak and submissive; she wasn’t supposed to have a strong character. She had the magical power but not the mental strength in her current state to act like she was doing right now; she forgot about those traits the day of the explosion.

“I remember…” Bellatrix said in a low tone.

Everyone stared at her with shocked expressions. It was like this was a dark version of Bellatrix Black, and it was scary to say the least, even if they outnumbered her, everyone was scared, well, everyone but Harry, the younger wizard was actually smiling, completely satisfied.

“I REMEMBER!” She screamed, and suddenly, she teleported around the room to free Harry and break the silencing charm placed on him.

“Bella, I’m sorry I didn’t—” he said desperately, but she raised her hand to stop him.

“We’ll talk later, for now, I think we should focus on assuring that said ‘later’ happens,” she winked at him.

Harry was relieved to see that now that she was back to her normal self, she didn’t believe in Lucius’ lies, but she was right, it was time to focus if they wanted to make it out alive.

“So… What’s the plan?” Asked Harry with a worried expression.

However, before they could share their ideas, the attacks started, and soon, Bellatrix and Harry had to find a way to protect themselves. Shields were the best thing they could get; however, some of them were sending killing curses.

“Imperio!” Harry said as he controlled one of the masked men and used him as a human shield to take a killing curse in his place.

Bellatrix saw what he did, and she did the same. They were in a very awful situation; they were using unforgivables, but they didn’t care about laws any longer; surviving was their top priority.

“Ah… Take this, you bastards!” Bellatrix declared, as her wand suddenly started shooting lights.

It was like a firework show, and soon, those fireworks landed on a lot of enemies. It was her signature attack, and she never thought there would be a day when she had to use that attack, but here she was. The attacks were ruthless and endless, and she was surprised the two of them were still alive.

“Fuck… Bella!” Harry screamed as an attack was about to hit her.

However, he teleported fast and managed to protect her, although there was an explosion, and the shockwave managed to affect him. Bellatrix, on the other hand, had a shocked expression; that explosion reminded her of that day when she lost her memory and almost died alongside her child.

“Fuck,” Harry said as he looked at the person who sent the attack.

It was Lucius, and he had his arm back.

“Let’s end this already… Avada…” He started with the killing curse.

Harry decided to run and put himself in front of Bellatrix. She couldn’t die, not now, while she was carrying their child. She needed to live. A child could live without a father, but not without a mother; that’s the most essential thing for a baby. Harry looked back at Bellatrix with a weak smile.

She tried to get back on her feet to do something. The killing curse was on its way to kill Harry, and she didn’t want him to die. Even though she hated this marriage at first, she didn't want him to die, even though that would save her and their child.

“I’m sorry for all of this, Bella… I love you and our child,” he said before he closed his eyes.

“No!” Bellatrix screamed.

But then, everything was interrupted the moment a huge explosion took place as the main entrance of the manor was blown up, there was confusion, and then, as the smoke disappeared, it revealed a terrible picture for Lucius and the rest.

“Drop your wands!” It was Tonks, and she was back with the reinforcements, and even Amelia came with her.

And to make things worse for this organization, they were surrounded by at least five hundred Aurors. And just like rats, many started to apparate, and others tried to attack the Aurors, but they were quickly neutralized.

“Come on, Lucius… It’s over, give up,” Amelia said with a dry tone.

She was tired of all this. She was going to need vacations after this. Lucius, instead of doing as he was told, showed them the watch on his hand, and then he raised his wand, but then something happened that shocked everyone. Lucius’ heart had been stabbed with a piercing spell.

“W-what…?” Lucius said as he saw the void where his heart should be.

Everyone stared at Harry Potter, who had his wand pointed at the blonde man. He had been the one who decided to attack the blonde from behind. Harry had a serious expression. He knew he was going to get in trouble for not following the protocol, but he didn’t care. Lucius was going to die, and knowing that made everything feel worth it for the emerald-eyed wizard.

With him gone, they won’t have to worry about being in danger, with him gone, the world can go back to how it was, yes, this is how things should be, Harry knows this was going to ruin his life, but he didn’t care, at least, he was happy knowing that he did this for a good reason, his family and the world will finally live in peace without worrying about Lucius Malfoy attacking them.

The blonde, on the other hand, in his last moments, murmured something and then, he finally fell on the floor as he started to cough blood, but despite all this, the blonde was smirking.

“Everyone… Leave this place!” Amelia ordered, and soon, explosions were heard all over the building.

Harry grabbed Bellatrix and carried her bridal style.

“Harry… What the—” she couldn’t say anything else as Harry ran while the building exploded behind them.

They barely managed to escape the huge explosion. Everything was blown up, and even the muggles realized that something was happening. Once they were outside, Harry placed Bellatrix on the ground, and she looked at him with an annoyed expression.

“Bella… I—“ he couldn’t continue because soon he was being kissed passionately by the older witch.

With the explosion behind them, it was like there were fireworks as they shared their first proper kiss as a couple.

“You idiot… You were planning to die without hearing that… I love you too!” She said angrily and then kissed him again.

Meanwhile, Amelia was making sure everyone was fine.

“Are you guys okay?” Asked the older redhead.

Then she spoke with the captains; there were fifty leading ten Aurors each, and all of them confirmed that there hadn’t been casualties on their side. Some were hurt, but overall, no deaths were reported, so the mission had been more than a success.

Now they had other worries as the Muggle witnesses started to ask questions, Amelia couldn’t help but sigh.

“Okay, everyone, it’s time to obliviate the witnesses,” she ordered, and soon, they got to work.

“Amelia… I—” Harry approached the redhead.

“Don’t say anything, Potter, go home with your wife, we’ll talk about this tomorrow, okay?” The redhead smiled at him, and he nodded. “Oh, and you owe me ten galleons, I told you that she loved you back,” the redhead giggled as she left them alone.

Bellatrix’s mouth was open wide.

“Wait a minute… Isn’t she supposed to be your ex trying to win your heart back? A homewrecker?” Bellatrix complained that she had been wrong in her assumptions.

She hates being wrong. Harry just chuckled.

“We’re just friends, but if you want to invite her to our fun nights…” He teased her, and she lightly slapped his shoulder. “I’m joking, I’m joking!” He said while he chuckled.

She was annoyed; however, she decided to just kiss him and not say anything else, and Harry was thankful for that.
