Chapter #53: Memories.
There was tension at Potter’s manor. Lily Potter was in the living room alongside Henry, Hermione, Fleur, Remus, Ron, and Nymphadora. They were waiting for the expedition that went to destroy one of Voldemort's anchors, the first step to finally get rid of him.
Harry was with them too; she was conflicted about it. She didn’t want to think wrongly about Dumbledore, but he was insistent on taking Harry with them, and she knew that none of the old wizard’s decisions were made without any reason to do so. However, the reason could be good or bad depending on who you ask.
“Why are they taking so long? Didn’t they say that they were going to be quick?” Lily couldn’t help but sigh.
“I knew I should’ve gone with them… They needed an Auror, not Harry—I mean Dursley,” Nymphadora said with a slight blush.
However, before they could say anything else, some people suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the living room, shocking everyone in the room. It was Harry, and he wasn't alone; he brought with him the unconscious figures that were supposed to be stronger than he was.
“No… NO!” Lily screamed in horror as she ran to assist her husband.
“Mrs. Potter, please calm down.” Harry tried to control the situation.
“WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Lily snapped at him.
“I didn’t do anything… They’re alive, you crazy hag!” Harry said angrily.
His words surprised everyone; however, after finding out that the unconscious wizards were alive, they calmed down.
“Don’t worry… They’re just unconscious, and speaking about it,” Harry said as he showed them a ring and the blade with basilisk venom.
The people in the room were surprised; however, before they could ask what happened, the emerald-eyed wizard ended up collapsing.
He lost consciousness too, and soon Hermione, Fleur, and even Nymphadora ran to help him and take him to another room. Meanwhile, Sirius, James, and Dumbledore decided to slowly wake up.
“What the…? Are we dead?” James asked with a surprised expression.
“I think we’re in hell; just look at that red-haired devil!” Sirius said, pointing at an angry Lily.
“What happened?” Dumbledore asked, ignoring everything that was happening around him. “I don’t remember anything. How did we come back?” Asked Dumbledore with a serious tone.
Lily and Remus decided to help them; she was a bit annoyed at Sirius for calling her a devil, although he’s not the first person to think about her like that. They brought tea, and they even called Andromeda to check on them.
“They look fine; there are no curses, and they’re not under any influence of jinxes,” the older witch said with a calm expression.
“Thank you, Droma,” Lily said, relieved.
“Can we ask what happened now?” Asked Sirius, a bit annoyed.
Lily sighed and explained to them how Harry appeared out of nowhere and brought them, to say the three of them were shocked would be an understatement.
“Oh, and he brought this with him,” Lily said as she showed the ring and the blade.
Dumbledore had a serious expression right now.
“Where is Harry?” He asked with a serious tone.
“He’s resting; he collapsed after he brought you guys back,” Hermione said as she came back from his room. Tonks and Fleur were with him right now.
Dumbledore didn’t say anything; they went to that place to destroy that thing and get rid of one of his horcruxes; however, Dumbledore now had many different questions. Sadly, Harry decided to collapse at the worst possible moment. Harry, meanwhile, was sleeping peacefully, just like he had planned; he wasn’t ready to face them, especially not after he had obliviated the three of them. He couldn't help but think about that moment.
“Well, the first horcrux is gone,” Harry said as he placed the ring in his pocket.
Sirius and James stood there speechlessly; it was like a switch was turned on, and Harry suddenly changed into something else, something fiercer and dangerous. He then did something they weren’t expecting: he restricted Dumbledore and brought him back; he then called for the elder wand back.
“Shit… Just like I was suspecting, you just had to use this wand, right? It needed to be symbolic to defeat your former pupil.” Harry couldn’t help but sigh. “I’m sorry, but after doing that, the wand now obeys me,” Harry told Dumbledore with a serious expression.
“James… Are you seeing what I’m seeing?” Asked Sirius before gulping.
“Harry suddenly becoming scary? Yeah I can see it,” James answered in a low tone.
“It’s here, James; it finally happened… The monster finally showed his true colors, and now he’s going to kill all of us. He’s going to start with Dumbledore because he was the one who ruined his life…” Sirius whispered in a low tone.
“Fuck… None of us is safe.” James couldn’t help but gulp.
“Yeah, that’s why we need to defeat him now that he’s distracted with Dumbledore.” James looked at his best friend with a worried expression.
He knew this day would eventually come, the day that he would have to kill his son and fix the mistake that they committed by bringing him into this world. In the end, he knew there was no choice, and he didn't like the idea of killing his own son, but the well-being of his wife and family was more important than anything else.
“Let’s do it faster and painlessly,” James whispered in his best friend's ear.
“Very well, we'll do it at the count of three,” Sirius said. “One, two, and three,” he finished.
“Avada—” Both Sirius and James were about to launch the killing curse against Harry; however, with just one flick of his wand, he managed to disarm them.
And then the two of them were restricted just like Dumbledore; the three of them were now together, preparing themselves for their deaths.
“I want all of you to know that what I’m going to do is not personal,” Harry said with a calm tone. “The ring is gone, though; you can feel happy about that,” Harry told them with a calm expression.
“Who are you?” James asked with complete regret.
“I’m someone that shouldn’t be in this universe, and yet, here I am, once again, fighting against Voldemort even though I don’t want to,” Harry sighed.
“Please, don’t kill Lily… That’s your mother; you can hate Dumbledore and me, but she didn’t want to fully give you up!” James was on the verge of sobbing.
Harry looked at them with a calm expression, then he laughed, which made them look at him with scared expressions. Harry then stopped as he realized that he was now looking like a supervillain or worse, like a diet version of Voldemort.
“Killing? I have no interest in killing any of you. Right now I’m only killing the Death Eater scum of the country because I can, and because I need the money; after all, I have to fend for myself without your help… Right, father?” Harry asked with a calm tone.
Many questions were running throughout the wizards' minds; they knew Harry had the potential to become dangerous, however, it seems like they judged wrongly, he was not interested in killing them.
“If you’re not going to kill us, then why don’t you let us go? We can work together; we need someone like you in the order,” Dumbledore said with a desperate expression.
“Ah, that can’t happen because… I don’t want any of you to know my true self, sorry… Obliviate!” Harry chanted, and soon, their memories of this incident were gone.
Harry then modified their memories.
