Chapter #17: Grass.

A team of soldiers and wizards were clearing an area, one important thing that Harry and his friends were focused was on the wildlife, after humanity was petrified for more than twenty years it made sense that the species that had been pushed away by humanity and magic would multiply once the main predator was gone, and because they’re trying to find statues to resurrect them, it’s important to first deal with the magical creatures that could've taken the nearby areas.

“This area is clean; there doesn’t seem to be a sight of magical creatures,” one soldier said.

“Look, there are statues here,” one wizard said, and soon, using their powers, they levitated the statues.

They found a family and a destroyed manor. Soon, they took a look at the family; it consisted of two adult daughters and the parents. After a quick search, they were satisfied to know that they didn’t find any more statues, and soon, everyone was back to the main city. The city had changed so much that it now looked very futuristic; the best thing was that technology was working once again.

However, the energy used for the city was the cleanest in existence, as the turbines that generate the power don't need water anymore; just a spinning spell was enough to make the turbines work. It was just a simple spell that could last for hours; it was one of the best-paid and one of the easiest jobs in the world.

The most important thing was that both societies were starting to learn from the other, and the two were impressed by the other's feats. Wizards were impressed with the technology, while muggles were impressed with the benefits magic was bringing to society; this is what Harry dreamed of: he wanted to create a world in which both societies would learn to live and work together, who knows? Maybe with time, magic will eventually be the norm.

“Lord Potter, we brought a couple of statues. It's a family,” the wizard in charge of the operation said with a smile.

“Please don’t call me lord or anything like that; I’m just Harry,” Harry tried to stop the man.

However, once he saw the statues, he couldn’t help but stare at one of them; it belonged to one of the younger females. She had long hair, and for some reason, Harry felt like he knew her.

“Anyway, you guys did a good job. Did you find any problems there?” Harry asked calmly.

The man shook his head.

“Everything was clear, Harry; we didn’t find any sign of strange magical creatures nesting nearby nor dragons, so the area was clean,” the man told him.

“Okay, you can give your report to the team of experts and your memories; those are very valuable as we analyze the current state of our world. Until we send a satellite, we can only do things manually,” Harry told the man, who nodded.

“If you excuse me,” the wizard told him and soon was gone.

Harry then decided to call his close friends; Ginny, Luna, Neville, Susan, Hannah and Cho arrived to see the sight.

“Wow, a whole family,” Luna said, surprised.

“Yes, I need your help to depetrify them. I’ve been depetrifying people since the morning; I’m spent,” Harry said with a weak smile.

Soon Luna, Ginny, and Susan took the women to different rooms so their nakedness would remain private, and then, Neville depetrified the man right there.

“Ah… That was,” the man was suddenly clothed as Neville made some clothes appear.

“Good evening, sir, welcome to this new world of ours,” Harry told a tall blonde man.

“What the? Who are you? Where am I? Where’s my family?” The man asked desperately.

Then, coming out of the rooms fully dressed, his wife and then his daughters appeared and ran towards him. This is the reason Harry is doing all this; he’s not doing it for fame or glory; he just wants to help people, and he's glad he can do it without violence.

“Once again, I welcome you folks to our new world created after a global petrification that petrified everyone, an event caused by Voldemort,” Harry spoke once again.

“What? Voldemort? Is he—” One of the daughters, a blonde woman with a cold expression, said, surprised.

“No… Voldemort is dead; he’s gone forever, and he’s not going to come back ever again, and even if you go to hell after you die, he’s not going to appear there; he ceased to exist,” Harry declared, and then the older man’s eyes widened.

“So that’s what he used to keep himself immortal, uh?” the man didn’t say any more.

There was an understanding between Harry and the man.

“Oh, where are my manners? I’m Cyrus… Cyrus Greengrass,” the man said with a smirk. “That’s my wife Helena and my daughters Astoria and Daphne,” the man said with a calm tone.

“It’s a pleasure to meet all of you. This is going to be shocking, but my name is—” Harry was stopped by the blonde woman whom he knew very well.

“You’re Potter… Harry Potter,” the blonde said, shocked.

“What? There’s no way—” Astoria thought her sister was joking around.

However, they soon saw the scar on his forehead, and it was more than clear that, in fact, the person in front of them was Harry Potter.

“But how? You were supposed to be a couple months younger than me!” Daphne couldn’t believe it.

“Well, the light that covered and petrified everyone… Didn’t work on me,” he confessed with a serious tone. “I was the only human that was still able to move. I nearly gave up, but… I saw an opportunity to help, so, instead of crying and waiting for my death, I decided to work on a way to save everyone. It took me twenty years, but I succeeded, and here we are,” he said with a shrug.

The Greengrass family was shocked by his tale, to say the least.

“Now, there are some things we need to take care of; first of all, this new world is much different from the one you’re used to,” Harry explained. “There’s no statute of secrecy; it’s gone. Now, both muggles and magical people live alongside; I know the Greengrass family is an ancient pureblood family, so our values and your values might collide, just something to be aware of,” Harry explained to them.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Potter, we’re not involved in that pureblood nonsense. The Greengrass family is business-driven; we’ve been doing that since the start of our society. Muggles and wizards being part of the same society only means one thing… A bigger base of potential customers for us to profit; that’s if you let us, of course,” the man spoke, and Harry could swear that there were money signs in his eyes.

Harry couldn’t help but smirk; these were the kind of people that he liked, people who didn’t care about colors or the type of blood you have in your veins.

“Of course, we like to support businesses in this new world, but first of all, you need wands. I’ll take you to Olivanders,” Harry told them with a calm tone.

“Thank Merlin, my wand is like a part of me; being without it, I feel like I lost a limb,” Helena said with a tired tone.

Harry was happy; having more magical people was a good thing, as they could help to depetrify people faster. He couldn’t help but feel great about the direction this world was heading; however, he also couldn’t help but feel sad. Billions of people needed help; they needed to hurry up with the device so they could depetrify people faster.
