PLEASE READ BEFORE WATCHING/COMMENTING:!!NO STORY SPOILERS!! I have no idea where this game could go or end up and that's exciting to me! This was a labour of love! It has been a joy to play so far and I did have fun editing it but it's gonna be a lot of work, so uploads will be slow! That said, please feel free to be brutally honest if you think I am leaving in too much combat and menu screen time. Gonna try my best to find a nice balance. I was quite overwhelmed by the end of the video BUT I think editing through this gave me a bit more insight into the menus and stuff as I had to re-experience it all. I am open to tips for combat and gameplay! I think I could hear the audio cue for parrying during editing! This could be re-edited to be a longer video later, depending on how long the game is! Like ACT 1 as one or two videos, and so on... But those who have played the game will have a better idea of how many potential parts the series could be, than I would right now! My idea is to have quite long videos but I did want to get this footage out early for anyone to catch anything big I am missing, so take this as a draft part 1!I have had that floating waters song that goes ”GUUUUSTAVVEE” stuck in my head all week lol.

P.s I know the intro is a bit long and awkward haha but I had fun, maybe I will trim it later.

Finally: Bless all of your hearts if you happily watch 5+ hour videos from me lol. I hope someone out there loves this! It felt like a game up my street which is always a lovely feeling.

wow! I didn't expect this, I'm excited to watch you play! you're gonna love it its easily GOTY for me

b0n3man

I haven't even pressed play, but i just know it's gonna be amazing. Clair Obscur is easily GOTY 2025 for me, and i really hope you enjoy it. No spoilers from me! This is a masterpiece you get to experience all on your own. The prologue absolutely destroyed me though, such a strong start. For combat tips, first learn to dodge, then learn to parry. The dodge window is a lot bigger than the parry window, which allows you to learn moves at first. Getting that perfect parry off though? feels amazing!

Dave P.

Ooh, this should be great! It depends on the enemy, but when I couldn't figure out a parry I'd look for a visual tell rather than just trying to time it correctly. But repetition always helps.

Carsten Schultz

Oh, I think that I am near the end (I won't say more), so this also fits perfectly.

Of all the people I was waiting on playing this game, you were definitely at the top of the list. This game is special and I had a feeling this was going to be right up your alley. Even if the editing does take a lot of work, I'm happy you get to experience something like this. Take your time and just have fun!

Andrew LaValley

OMG so excited to have you playing this. The parry window is pretty tight but very worth it because the counter attacks really drive up the break meter which allows for massive damage, especially in the late game. If you want you can try dodging first. If you dodge and it says "perfect" that's the right window to parry. The game is pretty long but the combat stuff is a big part of it so it's probably fine to leave a lot in but you can use your judgment. I'd probably edit similar to how you did dark souls 1/2 and bloodborne.

Makhiel

(What's the French for "hell yeah"?) Super excited to watch this, E33 is amazing! That song is my favourite as well, it's called "Goblu".

Capt Doug

I’ve been waiting for your play through of this, I think it’s going to be wonderful and cannot wait to see your experience of it! Tomorrow is here! 🇫🇷

Capt Doug

As for the length of the videos I would quite happily sit and watch a completely unedited run of this game, the comfortably with the combat will come with time, the fact you’ve clocked on to the sound cues will be a massive help!

Don Bernacz

5 hours - 5 schmours , let's gooood!

Nina

Hey, up to you of course how you want to edit these but I'd be perfectly content even if you spent a lot less time in the editing bay and release more "raw" playthroughs.

wag0napples

This is a great surprise I was hoping you'd get to it! I would like to say though, no spoilers here whatsoever, but you will likely get a few people telling you to not do side stuff near the end due to getting overpowered for the remaining story stuff. Do not listen to them! There is so much (arguably crucial) story behind side content that is much better experienced before completing the main story and while it is true you can become overpowered, a simple switching off of a certain lumina/pictos is all you have to do to keep the final story mission challenging enough. But, with all that said, play how you want, this is your experience. I just have an issue with people not realizing you aren't locked into being overpowered at any point. But anyway, I look forward to your journey on my new favourite game. 👍

Merde! - I thought I was having a stroke reading that post title :D I wasn't expecting you to play this yet but pleasantly surprised and very excited to see how it goes. There's so much to love about this game, enjoy!

Trolez

Just watched the prologue, and the game seems very intriguing. I should probably experience this myself first, so I will be back watching in due time.

LatterDayMutant

Just started playing this game a couple of days ago and I'm already obsessed. SO happy to see a youtuber I like playing it, and especially glad it's you!

Julian

Ooh, I loved this game! I platinumed it and everything. And did you make that intro? I love it 😄 get ready for a hell of a game

Maria-Anna

Very cool to see you play it. I think you'll like it! From the other Let's Play I watched, it seems like this game's quite long - but it'd be nice to see you take your time & care over everything in this world, I think it'll reward that.

rogbrte

After watching most of it, I think you're doing just fine on parrying - it's just a matter of learning the timings for new enemies, and starting with dodging makes that easier. Then when dodging feels comfortable, it's easy to switch to parrying to get that sweet sweet counter. Some of the less-humanoid enemies are simply harder to suss out the timing for. It's just so refreshing that everything in this game - the world building, combat system(s), music, etc - feels like there was thought put into it. Kinda like the intro to this video! And let's not overlook lowering the opacity on your cam so we can see the loot, that's next level commitment <3

b0n3man

Now after watching it, my feeling was absolutely correct. I love how you interact with the world, like it's worth exploring, making up theories and just the general inquisitive way you play the game. You're doing fine on combat. A lot of it is just getting the flow of it going, and learning enemy patterns. Once you do, parries will come automatically. Can't wait for the next part! 5 hours barely scratched the itch!

Jake H

This is really interesting so far! Very much enjoy watching you play and take time to explore as always

Maria-Anna

Just a note - if you haven't yet discovered it, you can already use Luminas (without camp or anything like that) from the menu. If you've learnt them (that's what the Pictos levelling is), they're available to equip almost like passives. While you can only have 3 Pictos on each character, you can have lots of the little Lumina effects 'on' at once. The place is on the right hand side of the character menu, I think in the Pictos section? (Kinda near where Wardrobe tab is??) Don't mind more combat being left in!

Julian

Was just about to comment this, took me forever to figure it out when I played, haha

Huib Gelling

Amber, I will watch the shit out of a 5-hour ClObs E33 episode! But I want to play it myself first 😁 So I’m going to get it and play it in the next week or so and then watch the shit out of your video(s).

LooseSeal

No need to over edit the videos unless you want to cut out time spent leveling up. I would definitely keep all battle footage in the playthrough. Also just wanted to say that the trash can you were looking for was that glowing one, you just had to press on it multiple times. I won’t spoil what it is in case you want to find out on a new game+ run

Chris Dewing

I've been wanting to play this for a while, particularly as it's free on GamePass, but haven't had the time to do so. I will happily watch you play it instead though, and I can cross it off my list of games to play. No, that's not cheating.

aran

Wow that's a dirty trick. I missed a bunch in the beginning including this!
