Hey everyone, it's news time!

I've been thinking a lot about how I want to approach my videos moving forward and I've decided I want to try something new: one-and-done videos for some games and series.

I want to experiment with longer, more complete videos instead of lots of shorter parts. I want to be able to play more games and I just feel so guilty when a series goes on too long (Dark Souls 2?)

I hope this also helps rebuild trust around me finishing series and uploading regularly, which I know has been an issue! One-and-done videos aren't the most digestible but I'll include chapters so hopefully that helps too.

There will still be some games I run as a series but I'm planning on trying out minimal parts with longer videos or just one full playthrough videos more often now.

This will probably mean uploading less frequently while I take the time to play and edit these longer videos. But I'm thinking I might share parts early with my Patreon (hello) and Youtube member community as usual so you can still get regular content and give me input during the playthrough, while the public YouTube release will be the full playthrough as a handful of videos.

I'm not sure if this will be the long-term answer, but I'm feeling pretty tired of the current format and want to try fresh ideas for the channel!

Thanks so much for your ongoing support and understanding. Detroit: Become Human is done! The playlist is updated, and the public Part 3 on YouTube will be a big finale episode that wraps everything up.

I got my new PC (yaaay!), and I'm working on getting back into ClObs.

Sadly, I learned that because my channel doesn’t qualify for certain extended upload features (likely due to being under 100k subs and having a few copyright-flagged videos), I can't upload anything over 12 hours. So I need to be extra mindful when editing longplay content! That may throw a spanner in the works but hey ho. And finally a gentle ask for patience, I have been feeling really low mentally this month... I am not sure what the cause is but its been SUCH a rough spell and so I am going to take the weekend to rest before jumping back into content! Thank you all for reading yet another huge block of text from me, haha, thank you for the endless patience and support. Knowing one person out there enjoys a video helps me more than I can ever explain!

I personally love longer form content (specifically to watch while working) so I look forward to watching! Of course any length is great, my wife and l love your content in any form/length!

Anything that makes things easier for you, Amber, we support! Thank you for your time, content, and consideration

Looking forward to longer form content from you! I wish you well going through this mental health rough patch - prioritize your health, your viewers will understand and support you.

I like the idea of long form videos for games (portal 2 is a great length for that). And yes chapters are great for that too! Uploading for memberships early is great for feedback for yourself playing and is a great way to position as a membership benefit, then uploading the long form version publicly after finishing. Could even add in to the full length video that members can see early and provide input in the middle of things. And I'm sure there are negative people even in memberships but your mental health is super important, take the time you need.

I've enjoyed the long form content like Clobs, it's like enjoying a movie! Hope you have a relaxing weekend!

I like the idea of this! It’s like when a TV series comes out, but waiting for each episode is excruciating! Instead we get the full season in one go, that we can take on in our own time! Very much looking forward to this new approach. This community will always support you, and please do look after yourself!

Julian

Can't wait to see any videos from you, longform or short (I actually like long ones, haha). They're always a great time to watch. Congrats on the new PC, too! And I hope your mental rough spot gets easier. Watch a good movie or read a good book over any time off you need 👍 that always helps me, at least

Happy to be along for the ride, wherever and however you choose to take us! I've been really enjoying the Detroit and ClObs videos. Thank you for all the work (and stress!) you’ve poured into those. Hope this new approach works out for the best!

Hope you have a restful weekend! Its never a bad idea to take time for yourself, or to make the channel work for you. And the new format sounds cool!

I'm pretty new here but in just a month or so you've become my go-to channel, granted it helps that you've played some of my favourite games, but I was drawn to you by the way you don't hide your feelings during the videos, and your reactions add so much to the experience. I'll be watching and enjoying no matter what paths you choose to go down, except perhaps jump-scare horror because I'm a coward, but always remember to put your health first, and from what I've seen this whole community will be here to support you no matter what.

As others have said, no need to feel guilty. Most of us are just happy to see you post, whenever it might be. I hope your mental state improves soon. Being down is no fun! 😥 You are one of my top creators on YouTube, and I only follow a small group of gamers (maybe half a dozen). Have a great weekend!

Whatever you feel works out for you Amber. I just enjoy the playthroughs and I have no expectations on you as far as time or how long it takes to finish. As I said I just enjoy the videos when they appear and want you to feel good about what you are doing so take whatever time you need.

Hell yeah - do what makes you want to keep doing it. Change can be good! And if you're having fun, I can guarantee you that we are. I'm all for you taking more time - especially if it allows you to flex your editing muscles, because all the little footnotes or elaborate intros or whatever else that you add are the turbo-charged icing-on-the-cake of an already funny and genuine video. Not that we need a crash zoom or a meme every 30 seconds; you tend to add the perfect amount of that stuff to where it's always surprising and welcome. Thanks and take care!

DrGravity

Plan for future videos sounds good. Be kind to yourself as a priority though always!

Sounds great. I'll happily work my way through a massive one and done video.

I LOVE getting large amount of content to binge in huge chunks. :) However, very large videos on Youtube aren't without issues... I know some weaker devices struggle with them. And personally I very often have the problem with huge videos, that Youtube lose the "bookmark" where I left off when I want to resume watching, returning me anything between a few minutes to an hour before I actually stopped watching... If it isn't a large amount of extra work for you, maybe consider at least cutting huge videos up into a few medium sized videos (2 hours?) that you still release at the same time, no particular editing necessary at all. That would prevent a lot of inconveniences for some of us and still get your goal of "One-and-done"... Regardless, I will continue watching and support your choices! :)

Congratulations on the new computer! I hope that it serves you well for a long time yet! ^_^ As to the new format, I hope that it works out well, for you! I'll admit that I am a little worried by another commenter's note that YouTube might not handle bookmarking within longer videos well: I tend to watch long videos in many smaller chunks. Thus bookmarking is pretty important to me! Well, we'll see how it works out!
