Hey everyone! I'd love your input.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the channel and how it's changed over time. To help me keep making content you genuinely enjoy, I'd love to know a bit more about you:

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why?

(I will answer too)My favourite series to make may have been Dark Souls Remastered, I feel like I got very lucky in that playthrough whereby things went pretty smoothly and it was a joy to play and edit through! I also was in a happier place so maybe I am reminiscing with some rose tinted glasses lol.

On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why?

Honestly... probably Dark Souls 2, haha. I went into that one hoping to try something different, thinking it'd be a really fun co-op journey... but in the end, I burned out while recording and editing it. I still haven't recovered: I haven't wanted to touch a souls game since. I also got a bit of pushback on how I chose to play the game, which made the whole thing feel kind of deflating. I learned a lot from the experience, but if I'm honest, I've sometimes regretted covering it at all. Not every series goes the way you hoped so that's ok.

What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately?

I have been putting on ambient videos to read and do chores with. I have felt a bit burnt out and chewed up by the gaming scene but I do still like watching REPO and other co-op videos!

Do you remember what first made you check out my channel?

...I guess I cant answer this one lol. I wanted to make a YouTube channel to play Zelda... and I still haven't even finished a Zelda game on the channel. Oops

What are some of your all-time favourite games?

Mine are Bloodborne, Dark Souls, OoT and Hollow Knight

No pressure to answer everything, but your thoughts would mean a lot. Along with longer videos I am going to shift a bit next year and your insight can help me figure out what’s working (and maybe what isn't).

Thanks so much for any help! 🧡

Favourite series on the channel and the one that introduced you to me - Hollow Knight, closely followed by Outer Wilds Both would also be on my all time favourite games list - you should check out Animal Well which is in a similar vein to both of those btw, I've just beaten it and had a great time, it's a clever little "metroidbrania". YouTube content - yours obviously 🙃 but in general, longform for me, I prefer a longer video format where you can just jump back in and have it roll in the background, rather than having to figure out which part of a playlist I'm up to. I also enjoy watching co-op stuff like Lethal Company and Peak from time to time, from various creators.

My favorite series so far was portal 2, one of my favorite games and it has such a great conclusion. Dark souls and half life 1/2 are close though. I don’t think I have had any I disliked or weren’t interested in. If there were times, it wasn’t because of your gameplay or commentary. I have enjoyed longer videos to put on while working or playing a game. I’ve been watching your Subnautica play through recently. The reason I clicked on the channel was because I wanted to watch someone play a dark souls blind play through, that series being the first I watched of yours. My favorite games are Zelda The Wind Waker (would love to watch this), Oot, portal 2, and amnesia the dark decent. Have enjoyed all the series I have seen so far, take some time to rejuvenate!

LunaHuntress

Hey Amber! It’s hard to pick a favourite series of yours but I lean more towards the story games you play I think, as it’s fun to see your reactions to certain parts of a games narrative. I’ve been really enjoying your Expedition 33 playthrough so far and despite never being interested in Detroit Become Human I really liked your playthrough on that! The reason I joined the patreon in the first place though was because I saw you had some Outer Wilds videos posted here that weren’t on Youtube at the time and I was enjoying watching. Your FF7 remake series was also really good (any chance of seeing Rebirth? 👀) As for stuff that doesn’t click with me it’s mainly horror games and Dark Souls, never been big on horror games and never play them myself but I understand why others like to play/watch them. I’ve never been super interested in soulslikes either but did watch your playthroughs and liked them! As for Youtube videos I watch, it’s mainly Pokemon, Deltarune and Outer Wilds at the moment. The game that made me check out your channel was Hollow Knight! Enjoyed the playthrough enough to stick around :) My favourite games are Zelda BoTW/ToTK, Undertale/Deltarune and Pokemon. Hope you’re doing well and hope my answers helped in some way!

Lot_TheKing

My favourite by far was Portal but that's my favourite game so I'm a bit biased. I don't really have a least favourite. Your voice is really relaxing so the games I am less interested in I use as background noise while I nap or play games myself. I started watching your channel when you reacted to Fable and talked about working on it. I prefer the shorter games. The one offs like A Long Hike, Before Your Eyes, and Thank Goodness You're Here

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Hollow Knight had a good range of experiences in it, between mystery, action, poignant at times and heartwarming in others, you never knew what was coming next. Dark souls was similar for the same reason but I preferred HK. what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Deltarune (sorry, I know some people love it but it does nothing for me) - i did enjoy Undertale but this one just doesn't sing to me. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? It depends what I'm doing, if I'm on chores it's a live set from a band (HEALTH, NIN, etc) If I'm painting it'll be a letsplay, usually - top channels are yours, LiliaTV (retrojank) and ShallowVA (bizarre doom wads) Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? The dark souls play through, your footage was featured in another creators video and it entertained me What are some of your all-time favourite games Personally I like Immersive Sims, System Shock 2 being the GOAT, but the Deus Exs have been great (especially the new ones, which is a controversial opinion). Also puzzle games such as Superliminal, and platformers like Yoku's Island Express get a lot of love.

- What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Hollow Knight, because it's a great game and you have a great way to explore (story telling) environments. Also, you are capable to master the harder sections, too! - On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? FF7 Remake. I played the Original game (on PC!) and I think the Remake is bloated and drawn out. - What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Video game Let's plays (Baya / Elden Ring) and Videos about Retro Games, Movies and Music. - Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I guess BloodBorne or Hollow Knight, don't know anymore. - What are some of your all-time favourite games? FromSoft games, Metroidvanias and 3D-Shooter. Lately I played the Demon's Souls-Remake. I played through Elden Ring several times, but DS is very streamlined and not too long. ER is a masterpiece, but I'm intimidated by some Open World games. Not much time and the backlog ist huge.

My favorite let's play mist be Outer Wilds, with Hollow Knight as the second. Why? Because I love the game, and you took on the adventure (as you always do) with so much heart that's it was such a treat to follow along, listening to your thought process and being funny and entertaining. The aspect of you being a gev developer also put a spin on it that I wanted to hear more on. I always love when you speak about what you experience from that view. I haven't watched all series yet, of the ones I've seen, can't say I really have any that I don't like, mainly because of points from the first question. I mainly watch podcasts, news, react videos and let's plays. Podcasts I listen to while out for walks or commute. I found your channel because of Outer Wilds, and will be forever grateful that I did. All time favourites: Outer Wilds, Final Fantasy 7/10, Portal 1/2, The Return of the Obra Din and Split Fiction. Honorable mentions: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, ClObs, Grim Fandango, The Day of the Tentacle, Dishonored. (There are so many more)

D1rtyH4rry87

My favourite was Subnautica. I absolutely loved that game myself, and to see someone else pick it up and play through it with enthusiasm was great. You make excellent content across the board, but that series introduced me to you, and made me want to stick around. My least favourite was DS2, your frustration with it was evident, and I think we all want to see you have fun and enjoy playing games. My No1 rule is "if you're not having fun, don't play it". Favourite games of all time for me are Majora's Mask and OoT, GTA Vice City, Dark Souls, Subnautica, Ninja Gaiden Black and Age of Empires 2. There are more, but these were first in mind.

CrwTheWanderer

My favorite lets play is tied between Outer Wilds and Dark Souls/Bloodborne, but I also really enjoy the one-offs like Thank Goodness You're Here. There are so many good ones! I tend to just watch your videos, Amber, but if I'm at work I listen to playthroughs of Baldurs Gate 3 because I'm doing my first honor mode run. The first thing of yours I saw was "A game dev plays Hollow Knight", which caught my attention, but the Bloodborne playthrough was the first thing I binged. All time favorite games? Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3, Bloodborne, Dark Souls, The Witness, Salt and Sanctuary. Pardon the weird spacing, I couldn't get linebreaks to work on mobile

Arkytior

Ok let's see. - Favorite let's play for me is Outer Wilds (but Clobs is getting there too). I love a lot of your Let's Plays bot OW is the one I keep coming back to to rewatch my favorite bits. - There isn't any particular series I didn't 'click' with. I just tend to not watch series about games I haven't played myself yet and want to play in the future. Maybe Dino Crisis is one I tried to get into but the game wasn't my cup of tea. - Lately I mostly watch let's plays and tv shows/movie reactions - I first checkout out the channel when I ran into one of your Hollow Knight videos. The series was still ongoing and but still very early on and I had just finished the game myself. Also the 'A game dev plays' tag made me curious to hear your perspective as a game dev. - Fav games for me are Outer Wilds, Hollow Knight (which you played back to back so no wonder I got hooked on your channel) and Clobs might have made it up there too now. Sekiro is close too, as my fav fromsoft game. - Extra from me: Even though at first I checked out the channel because of the games you were playing at the time, what made me stay was the way you approach games. Some youtubers I watch because they're playing a specific game I like, but here I enjoy pretty much every video regardless of the game. The attention to detail, the thorough exploration, walton, the discussions and theories, interesting insights, walton, fun to watch, funny remarks and overall just good gameplay is what makes me keep coming back

Johno711

(I'm sorry but I can't pick one lol) Favourite lets play probably Hollow Knight, as it's my favourite game. Closely tied is Dark Souls, Outer Wilds, Subnautica, Hl2/Portal and also really enjoyed Detroit and Stray recently (and alien isolation, which is also one of my favourites). Also like the one and done or short games, unpacking, Edith finch, before your eyes ,thank goodness you're here, and a short hike. I generally like games like before your eyes, unpacking, detroit and others where you dive into your thoughts as you play. Yeah Dark Souls 2 wasn't too bad to watch, I think it was good to break it up with the co-op, but it didn't (and the game doesn't) have the same spark DS1 has so I understand why you didn't enjoy it as much - also not sure about you but I've found myself having sudden souls fatigue lately even though I would've said they're my favourite games a year ago. Youtube I mainly watch your stuff, tech videos, informational or news (such as engineering project updates), video essays or deep dives in niche topics, often gaming or tech but not always, silksong copium, jerma memes and lately been watching emma play outer wilds so been watching outer wilds speedruns easter eggs and other stuff again. Also been watching this one japanese dude that does relaxing rain sounds camping in a van in different spots. What first made me check out your channel was I'd just been getting into souls games because of my boss, and been watching some playthroughs on that from Mapocolops and others and then your Bloodborne playthrough was on my youtube homepage for like a month before I finally checked it out (lol). Favourites include: Hollow Knight, Portal 1/2, Half Life 2+Episodes, Spiritfarer (mainly good timing, nostaglia when it came out), Dark Souls 1, Metroid Fusion, Alien Isolation, Professor Layton (Original Trilogy mainly), Bioshock 1, far cry 3, outer wilds, subnautica, halo, firewatch, return of the obra dinn, Paper's Please, Zelda Spirit Tracks, Limbo, Mass Effect, Phoenix Wright, It Takes Two I also enjoyed recently. Oh and minecraft as a kid lol, but less so these days (I started back in Alpha lol, strongest memories around beta 1.7.3)

TheReinx1

Bloodborne was the one that got me watching and remains my all time favorite on your channel. A “didn’t click” moment hasn’t happened yet, I enjoy your corner of the internet and appreciate the chill vibes when I want to turn off and immerse myself in video games without actually playing them (talk about lazy 😬😆). I’ve been watching Trent the Traveler on YouTube for the same reasons. He does amazing video work while living/traveling/gaming out of his van and has genuinely excellent content. You may also want to take a look at Rocket Jump (specifically their Video Game High School series) if you want absurdist nerd comedy. I saw the “game designer plays bloodborne for the first time” video title and sense that is one of my all time favorites I had to check it out, and now your channel is one of my all time YouTube favorites. Some of my other favorite games of all time in no particular order would be Gemstone IV (a text based mmorpg that has been online continuously since 1986! It’s perfect to play while streaming your videos), The Last of Us series, Elden Ring (over 700 hours played during a very rough time in my life while dealing with an illness), anything at all Zelda, Final Fantasy XIII (my first platinum trophy), Subnautica and the list goes on and on! Thank you for giving us a fun place to come and relax and enjoy one of the best past times of all time! It may not feel like it, but you really are building a legacy of interesting, genuine content here. Sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful, always heart warming and NEVER boring! I recommend your content to everyone I know and my day is always a little brighter when I see your posts go live. Cheers!

My favorite may have been Outer Wilds, but it's a toss up between that and Dark Souls 1 as it's one of my all time favorite games. Outer Wilds is always such a joy to see people play and how they think through the puzzles and twists. Really one of those once in a lifetime games in my opinion. And on the opposite I'd probably also have to go with Dark Souls 2 😅 The series had such great highs and the co-op with Emma was wonderful, but I think we could all feel your frustration with it. Plus as much as I love them, people take Souls games far, far too seriously. The backseating almost always gets out of hand regardless of who's playing and just sours the experience for everyone. Not to say I didn't enjoy the series though! I've been big into "second monitor" type content lately. Something I can have in the background while working or gaming. For me it often ends up being something from Just Background Noise or Warlockracy. I think the first thing that drew me to your channel was Bloodborne and it's still one of my favorites. Although I'm a little peeved how easily you beat Ludwig compared to my first time 😂 All time favorites? Dark Souls 1, Metroid Prime and Super Metroid, Cyberpunk, Knights of the Old Republic, Morrowind, and I'd be lying if I didn't say World of Warcraft. The list goes on and on, though. Hope this helps some!

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? The Hollow Knight playthrough definitely. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? If i'm not interested in a game i won't watch its video. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Some playthroughs, some gaming podcasts and a few videos about game design. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? The Hollow Knight playthrough (after i finished the game two times). What are some of your all-time favourite games? Portal 2, Hollow Knight, Witcher 3, Detroit. Really liked the Mass Effects, Frostpunks, Expedition 33 and Alan Wake games too.

Allen

-My favorite would probably be your hollow knight playthrough, it's really special to me -Any video you make I love watching, so none that haven't clicked with me. -I love having long youtube videos of people playing games on in the background when I grade tests or do other work -The first video I watched of yours was your Bloodborne playthrough. I realized I would probably never be able to play it myself, and your video was recommended to me and it ended up perfect because I got to see the game and I found you! -And my all time favorite games probably are Hollow knight, lies of p, elder scrolls oblivion, elden ring, outer wilds, portal 1/2, blasphemous 1/2, and baldurs gate 3

Johan

My favourite playtroughs are the story driven single player games (LoU, RE). Think you mentioned it can be draining for you sometimes to play the emotional heavy stuff, and therefore I understand the hesitation, but for me it's always really cool to get a different perspective or a reliving of a cherished fave. A recent one I really enjoyed was Stray! Such a gem of a game and fun to return to under your wings. For that reason other series with less focus on a strong narrative usually don't click with me, or I take dips here and there if I am curious enough, like any From Soft game. Apart from gaming Let's plays I'm most into watching videos about trading crypto lately (new 'hobby') and of course other gaming stuff as well. Have you ever watched Double Fine on youtube? This dev is best in the bizz when it comes to showing how they work. Some of their docs are Netflix worthy. Probably the Last of Us playthrough got me into your videos, or maybe a Life is Strange? Thinking about that now I'm not so sure you even played those. Maybe an idea for a series.... Love the don'tnod stuff anyway. Banishers is also worth looking into! My all time faves: Red Dead Redemption 2 (hint, hint) Resident Evil 2 Remake, Last of Us 1 and 2, Beyond Good & Evil (made me a gamer gamer), Bloodborne, Sekiro.

- What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Probably Outer Wilds. You went at a good pace and really soaked everything in. You dealt with the puzzles well and seemed to love the story. Your joy really showed through and made it more fun to watch. - On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? FF7 Remake... mostly because I thought the game was terrible. I never finished your play through. - What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I watch a lot of music analysis, tutorial videos of various subjects, science videos, ASMR, and chill gaming content from smaller creators. - Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Bloodborne. I love watching people play that game for the first time. My GF is currently playing it and it's a great way to spend my time. - What are some of your all-time favourite games? Outer Wilds is number one. Also up there would be FF7 (original), Fez, Tunic, Breath of the Wild, Portal 1+2, Resident Evil 2 (original), Journey, Bloodborne,... too many to mention really. Side note: Will there be more Expedition 33 coming soon? Im loving your playthrough of that so far.

nromdotcom

* What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Bloodborne because it's when I found the channel (and is one of my favorite games). Hollow Knight just strikes me as your signature playthrough for some reason. Simpsons Hit & Run because I really love playthroughs of games that are special or important to the player. So I'm a little sad you haven't finished a Zelda on here yet, but I can also appreciate the problems with turning something so important to you into work like this. * On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Yeah, gotta be DS2. There was still plenty of great moments and I'm glad you got to play it, but it very obviously took a toll and that's always tough to see. * What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Letsplays, as per. But more general gaming content as well. I'm a retro games guy and deep into Evercade so I watch a lot of reviews, discussion, deep dives, and history about old games. * Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Yep, Bloodborne. Good game, good playthrough. * What are some of your all-time favourite games? Soulsbornes (but let's say Dark Souls), most Castlevanias (but let's say Aria of Sorrow), most Zeldas (but let's say Link Between Worlds), 1000xresist, I bet by the time I finish Expedition 33 it'll be on this list.

Neil Hanson

Hi Amber. I'll try not to go on for too long... My favourite series of yours is either Bloodborne or Hollow Knight. I really can't choose between them. My least favourite is probably Dark Souls 2. It's a slog of a game for one thing, you didn't seem to enjoy it much and I also didn't like the co-op you did with Emma (sorry). You probably had people moaning that you shouldn't co-op on a first playthrough but that's not why I didn't like it. To me it felt too much like I was watching people play on a stream (unfocused & loud) and I'm really not a fan of watching streams at all. On YouTube I watch gaming stuff (let's plays, news, reviews, retro gaming, emulation, etc), reaction channels (I'm also a mod for my friends reaction channel), asmr (mostly to help distract from my tinnitus so I can actually sleep), technology related stuff, mma & F1 videos. I can't remember which video of yours it was that I first watched but it was way back, around TLoU2/God of War where you had titled a video something along the lines of "Game dev plays..." and that intrigued me enough to check it out. I then stuck around because I really liked your style. You actually named three of my all-time favourite games in Hollow Knight, Bloodborne and OoT. I've been playing games since the mid-eighties though so I've got many, many favourites.

Sören Höglund

Favourite - probably DS1. Recent youtube binges/discoveries - Tasting History with Max Miller. (Man tries to recreate a dish as an excuse to talk about the history surrounding it.) Grim beard. (Mostly reviews of retro games.) Made me check out your channel - I think it was the algorithm recommending the Bloodborne let's play. Favourite games - Thief: The Dark Project, Deus Ex, Yakuza 0, Nier: Automata, Dark Souls, Disco Elysium, The Witcher 3, Vampire: The masquerade - Bloodlines, Resident Evil...I'll stop now.

Emily Bracken

Hard to pick a favorite, but your To The Moon let's play was a highlight for me. It's not my favorite game or anything, but I do enjoy the catharsis of watching someone experience something I found emotionally resonant myself. And also I liked getting your perspective as another autistic woman who had mixed feelings about that game, especially the way the narrative resolved... If I had to pick a series I didn't click with, I would also choose Dark Souls 2. It seemed clear to me that you were not enjoying yourself as much with that game. I still watched all of it and liked hearing your thoughts on it, but I prefer watching you play games when it seems like you're enjoying your time with them. I've been watching a lot of Nightreign and Dark Souls / Elden Ring randomizer runs recently. Lobosjr and lilaggy are my comfort streamers. I believe I first encountered your Bloodborne let's play on my youtube feed, but it was your Subnautica let's play that hooked me. Two games I love to watch people experience for the first time. My all-time favorite games at time of posting are Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Hollow Knight, Witcher 3, Baldur's Gate 3, Valheim, and Subnautica.

1) My favorite series to rewatch is Silent Hill 2! All of my favorite series of yours tend to be games that reward a mindful style of play (for lack of a better term?) I think it's why the Souls games are also repeat watches for me. You are always just so plugged in to design when you play, not just level design but also art design but even narrative design. 2) For less favorite series, it's probably God of War 2018. I bounced off playing that game myself after a couple of hours, and watching your playthrough crystalized why. I really enjoy watching you engage with games that reward curiosity and are fine tuned towards cultivating a clear, specific experience (the Souls games, Undertale, A Short Hike, Thank Goodness Your Here, Silent Hill), while God of War felt like a lot of work, effort, and talent on the part of artists and writers to fill up a game shaped hole trying to hit metrics. I love hearing your perspective and observations and you have such a great eye for structure and tone that I do feel disappointed when it feels like the game doesn't rise to meet you by having a more focused narrative, gameplay, or atmospheric goal in mind (but preferably all 3 in tandem!) 3) I'm also in the middle of a move and navigating just a very scary, unsure time in my life so I've been falling into comfort content for sure. AnyAustin has been on repeat lately (not a lets player, but he makes great videos highligting and celebrating all the work and thought put into big, open world games the player is almost definitely never going to notice or appreciate (the powerline infrustructdure in GTA or the origin source of rivers in Tears of the Kingdom as examples.) Also, a lot of Dropout/DnD content as a throwback to my high school days of playing too much DnD. 4) Your first Bloodborne video was my introduction to your channel! It's one of my favorite games, the idea of a game dev playing through it blind excited me because of that aforementioned love of games that reward careful observation and insight, but very quickly I just loved watching you play and having a good time. I realized early on watching you that I wish I played video games like you do! You pick up on so much nuance and you seem to always be ready to meet the game where it's at and listen to what it's trying to convey to you. It's such a refreshing & engaging way to interface with art that I find myself trying to emulate. The energy you bring to your videos is just so kind and open but also engaged and curious. Genuinely, any artist I think would be lucky to have an audience of Ambers engaging with their work. 5) You've hit a lot of my favorites! Silent Hill 2, Bloodborne, Portal are all favorites of mine that you have done already. Slay the Princess, Little Nightmares, Who's Lila, and number one without is a doubt is Disco Elysium. Disco is the closet thing to a perfect game for me that will ever exist.

Hello! 1. Favourite games and why: There’s a lot I enjoy for different reasons to be honest, I think the stand outs for me have to be Silent Hill 2, Hollow Knight and Clobs, I think because I hold these games quite close myself I really appreciate the time and care you take playing them. We seem to play games quite similarly also which helps get invested more in the videos, the attention to details the getting lost in the lore and theorising about the plot, there’s not another creator that I feel goes as in depth as yourself. A special mention to Outer Wilds, Dredge and Resident Evil 7 for being my sleepy time play list favourites the game ambience and your voice I find very soothing and credit you for helping me get a better sleep! Haha 2. Least Favourite Let’s plays: I don’t think I’ve ever not enjoyed one of your videos, but the games I connect least with are games that I haven’t played myself: Half Life, Red Dead (purely because I don’t like cowboy media nothing to do with you’re playthrough it’s just something that’s never clicked with me personally) saying that I’ve never played Detroit and I thought that was honestly fantastic. As for DS2, I loved it, it was so fun seeing you and Emma vibe off each other, I was hoping we might have seen another team up for DS3. You can see how much fun you’re having playing with Emma as well and I think that’s important, we play games to escape and have fun and I’d be all for more co-op playthroughs! 3. What kinda of YouTube vids have I been watching: This varies greatly for me, my main stays are Symbalily, Mapocalops and Mass Effect lore, theory and play throughs. I’ve been watching a lot of Northernlion (mostly because I’m so impressed with his movie trivia) I watch a lot of GeoWizard (he tries to cross countries in straight lines) Flawless Cleaning Services (he finds people who are having a hard time in life and renovates their gardens etc) as well as Rayactions (reacting to music) but I do end up down a rabbit hole with content most times 4. What made me check out Symbalily in the first instance: I think it was probably resident evil or outer wilds that brought me to the channel, as stated above I don’t think there is anyone like you on YouTube in the gaming sector in terms of attention to detail, the way you feel the story as you play which in turn makes me feel the story, the community you have built is fantastic also. But I mean the main reason I stick around is you, the way you can give me a place to escape if it’s been a crappy day with your let’s plays just lets me escape for a few (sometimes many) hours, I’ve been hooked, cried, laughed and every emotion in between watching your videos, it’s a real testament to you as a creator and as a person even at times where you have been struggling there’s always been a video to enjoy and i cannot thank you enough. In short the vibes are immaculate! 5. Favourite games: 1. Mass Effect 2. Clobs 3. Soma 4. Hollow Knight 5. Inscryption 6. Silent Hill 2 7. Celeste 8. Signalis 9. Dark Souls 1 + 3 10. Crash Bandicoot (1, 2 + 3)

Robert C.

My favorite would be the one that got me in your channel: Undertale (guess I can add Undertale, too). I've watched in the background the following videos (the first two of which I've already experienced): Unpacking, Thank Goodness You're Here, Portal coming read, and the first few hours of Simpsons Hit and Run. They all clicked pretty well so, I don't really have a ranked least favorite, ha. I watch let's plays, Deltarune analysis videos, gaming videos in general (design theory, entertainment, documentaries...). I think LegalEagle is the only non-gaming guy I watch regularly, lmao. Games I liked a lot: Undertale, Resident Evil 4, Slay the Spire/Princess (lmao), Hades, Bayonetta, Rimworld, Against the Storm, Sifu, Balatro... So far everything I've seen of you have worked for me and your Undertale let's play is one of the very best I've seen so, I guess I don't want much to change, hah. I'd just say that I'd prefer to see story/emotion-focused games. I don't mind how long or short the videos are. Quick suggestion: Welonz (another youtuber) does first looks where she plays the first hour or two of a game to feel it out before committing to it (and the audience knows that she might not continue it). Maybe something to consider so you don't feel pressured to deep dive into every game you put on the channel?

aran

Someone on Bluesky said you were one of their favorite streamers and posted your first HL2 video. I've been gaming since the HL1 era and haven't ever really cared to watch LPs/streams, but I loved the way you analyzed the visual storytelling and just generally are very perceptive, thoughtful and engaged when playing. I binged almost all of the HL1/HL2 and Portal videos and now I'm watching your ClObs playthrough slowly because I'm about 2/3 through the game myself. I haven't been getting through your videos at a very high rate but I am glad I subscribed and will eventually get to the DS1 videos which I'm very much looking forward to. DS2, after hearing how much grief it caused you (and disliking it most out of the entire Elden Soulsborne lineup) I don't know if I should watch, as when you're not having fun I can really feel it. Someone said if you're not having fun on a playthrough, consider walking away for your own wellbeing and I support that 100% (maybe that's why you're thinking of switching to full one-and-dones so you can throw the whole playthrough in the bin before putting up half a PT and walking away? I encourage it either way, just be happy) DS1 and HL1/2/Portal are all some of my all-time favorite games, others are Dragon Age Inquisition, Fallout 2, FFVI, Chrono Trigger, and the Mega Man X series (special shout out to 30XX) I'd love to see you play some puzzle platformers: BRAID if you haven't already, I think you would absolutely love it. Also LIMBO and INSIDE which are both VERY dark, scary and sad but not too difficult imo. If you beat Hollow Knight you should be able to breeze through them and get some very nice short one-shot videos.

Hmm, favorite playthrough from was of course HK but also Thank goodness you are here 😂 honestly I like those where you have fun and lough a lot. Lately I watch a lot of reaction videos to anime shows like Frieren and Solo Levelling. My all time favorits are FFX, Elden Ring, HK, Raft, Portal, Dredge, Dave the Diver (I would recommend that one a lot) and 7 days to die (but it's currently not good, waiting for the next update). I started to watch you by coicidence, you were recommended by YT for HK and I guess I just fell for your wholesome and fun nature 😅 Hope that helped a little.

Hi Amber, 1) My favorite playthroughs on the channel have been Detroit: Become Human, Hollow Knight, DS1, To The Moon, and Silent Hill 1. I've always enjoyed games where a person explores the atmosphere and world building that a game has to offer. On the other hand, I also enjoy games that are story driven and have a unique experience. Games like DBH and To The Moon have excellent storylines that open up conversations in the gaming community about different topics. As for Hollow Knight and Silent Hill, they have excellent atmospheres and I put them on in the background while I do other things. Your commentary also really shapes these playthroughs -- something that separates you from other creators are your thoughts and takes on different parts of the storyline or the world that each of these games manages to capture. 2) Half Life series and RDR, simply because I personally don't enjoy the stories/gameplay as much. However, that being said, there are also a few series on your channel that I didn't think I would enjoy but I've opened up to because of your commentary and how you appreciate the little details in the environment of each game, which give me newfound appreciation for the games that you thoroughly explore. 3) I've been watching a lot of cooking videos to pass the time, I also watch Northernlion because he usually does longer form videos which I can put in the background while I do other things. 4) Hollow Knight playthrough 5) Death Stranding, DBH, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, Papers Please, Hades, Elden Ring, Spiritfarer, Life is Strange

*What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? My favourite series so far is definitely Hollow Knight and the Portals, closely followed by Undertale and Thank Goodness You're Here (if you can call that a series, it was GREAT regardless, your reactions to that game made me laugh so much!). I also really liked Deltarune, Detroid, Cuphead, FF7 and actually the EARLY parts of Dark Souls 2 (before it got problematic), watching you gush over Majula and some of the other early areas was very nostalgic and fun to watch. Most coop-parts of DS2 with Emma was a lot of fun also, you two had such great coop-streamer-chemistry! *On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Series that I tried watching but didn't click with was actually Dark Souls 1 (dunno why, still watched half of it) and of course the later parts of DS2... I think I didn't enjoy DS2 because YOU obviously suffered through most of it and forced yourself to play it anyway. I would NOT have thought ill of you or complained if you had decided to end that series prematurely, I think most others wouldn't have either! I also didn't really click with Stray or either of the Half Lives. I don't really know why, they just didn't hold my attention for more then a few episodes each. For Half Life, it might be because I never played them myself and have no nostalgia for the series, and I really didn't think they had seemed to have aged very well, especially HL2. *What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Mostly let's plays of retro games and British TV humor shows such as Taskmaster or 8oo10c does countdown. *Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Actually I remember it well. I was drawn to a title that was something like "A Game dev plays Bloodborne". I expected a breakdown of the game as you played and analyzed it, talking about game/art-design, development techniques, etc. I was really into listening to game-developers talk about games at that point in time (still is, tbh). So I was kind of disappointed when that wasn't really what your series was and went to find something else to watch. Later however, at some point, YouTube suggested your Hollow Knight series and I decided to click it for some reason... and I was completely hooked. Now I am very glad I clicked that video, as you quickly turned into one of my few favorite let's players! *What are some of your all-time favorite games? This is such a massive question to answer... :) Some quick answers that usually pop into the head when asked such a question are usually Zelda 2 and 3, Metroid, Master of Orion 2 and Civ2 if I am thinking about childhood games. Hollow Knight, Portal 2, Prey, XCOM 2, Fallout: New Vegas or Dark Souls 2 if I am thinking about more recent games...

Hello and good day Amber. 👋 My favorite let's play of yours is: 1) Hollow Knight I've started and stopped that game a few times and never completed it myself, so your playthrough was my exposure to what I was missing out on. It's such a beautiful and diverse looking game that I got to see because of you. Loved that you wanted to see all that game had to offer. Also, the soundtrack is incredible. 2) A Short Hike I played the game maybe a month or two before you started your playthrough and I was incredibly happy to see you playing it. Such a simple, fun little game. I don't think there is a series that didn't click for me. I've not watched your outer wilds playthrough because I would like to play it before watching it. YouTube videos you've been watching: Love my movie reaction channels. PBS digital studios videos are always great, though they may now be shuttered because our incompetent government cut their funding. What made me check out your channel: I think you were 2 or 3 videos into TLOU part 2, so I started watching and thought: "hey this person's great!. What other playthroughs has she done?" I could be mistaken but I thought you had a Neir Automata and What remains of Edith Finch playthrough? Anyway, I caught up on all the previous playthroughs and continued from there. All time favourite games: This is just a list of games that are not in any order. Jak and Daxter: The Precursors Legacy Spyro the Dragon Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy IV Kingdom Hearts 2 TLOU parts 1 and 2 The Uncharted series The Mass Effect series (minus Andromeda) The Witcher 3 Tchia Balddur's Gate 3 Hope those are some satisfactory answers and will see you in your next grand adventure! Ta-ta!

- What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? i had a great time with the silent hill playthroughs. when the first game started, i had just had my first emergency surgery ever and it was such a comfort for me as i recovered, so i hold it close to my heart for that reason as well as the fact that i adore silent hill. also, the costumes for halloween and the fun edits in the silent hill 1 playthrough in particular really made it extra special - On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? i think maybe dark souls 2, yeah. the collab episodes with Emma are iconic, however, they're exempt from this haha, you guys clearly had a lot of fun recording together and that was nice to watch. other than that tho, i'm not personally a huge dark souls 2 fan, so there wasn't much that i was super hyped to see a reaction for. i also think the games where you're having a lot more fun with them are ultimately more fun to watch. it did give us reginald pancake tho so you take what you can get haha - What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I've been watching so many Clair Obscur videos haha, i love seeing people's reactions to the OST and certain parts of the game. i kinda just love seeing people's reactions to stuff that i like, so reaction videos for game moments or OSTs and stuff are up there for sure - Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? i came here from the first bloodborne episode! i remember being drawn in by the "game dev plays" aspect originally, i wanted to see what perspective that would offer. and i still really enjoy those moments where you comment on the environment and the mechanics of how it might have been made, i think that's super interesting. by the end of that series i decided that i'd pledge here and it was a brilliant decision haha, i've made so many friends that i wouldnt' have otherwise through this community and have found other communities *from* this one that i've loved being a part of and making friends in too. so thank you!! haha - What are some of your all-time favourite games? to nobody who knows me's surprise, the yakuza series (if i had to choose 1, maybe 6 or maybe 8). also silent hill 2, resident evil 4, hollow knight, bloodborne, outer wilds, so many games damn this was fun! haha

Alison

1. Favourite is probably Hollow Knight, I definitely rewatch it the most. I also love a short hike and DS1 and your DS2 co-op videos. Oh and RE 2! 2. Half life didn't click for me buts that's mostly because I am very easily motion sick haha 3. I watch letsplays and few vlogs and book tube channels 4. I found your channel through hollow knight. No idea what in particular made me decide to click on the video but I'm so glad I did - your videos have brought me so much joy

Favorite LP: The Outer Wilds LP is what brought me to your channel so that's definitely up there, although I also really liked the Alice: Madness Returns LP just because it was great to see you really engage with a somewhat obscure game. Honorable mentions go to Before Your Eyes and To The Moon, I always like when LPers really have a strong emotional reaction to something. Least favorite LP: I honestly don't really have one; this feels like a cop out "oh they're all good" answer but if something doesn't interest me I just don't watch it. What kinds of videos do I watch: All sorts of things really, I think video game related stuff makes up the biggest proportion but I also love watching RedLetterMedia stuff (particularly Best of the Worst), and have been watching Taskmaster religiously ever since they started uploading new episodes to the official channel one day after broadcast. I went down a chess rabbit hole a little while ago but haven't watched as much related to that recently. How I found the channel: As I mentioned in the favorite LPs answer, the Outer Wilds LP got recommended to me at some point since I'd been watching a bunch of them. All time favorite games: This is one of those questions where if you asked me again tomorrow I'd probably have a different answer, I've been playing games since the mid 90s so there's a lot of stuff that occupies different categories of favorite for me, so I'll break it down like that -Recent faves (things I've actively played and loved within the past few years): Outer Wilds, Sekiro, Monster Hunter World/Wilds, Victoria 3, Pathologic 2 -Nostalgia faves (things I loved in the past but haven't played recently): Jagged Alliance 2, X-Com Apocalypse, Final Fantasy X, Crusader Kings 2, Bayonetta, Okami, Dark Souls, Fallout: New Vegas, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy Tactics -Childhood faves (stuff I haven't played in a very long time but still remember fondly): Unreal Tournament, Super Mario RPG, Arcanum, Rise of the Triad I have absolutely missed stuff but if I start digging through my Steam library I'm just gonna keep going "oh that should definitely be there too" and I have to cut myself off at some point.

mattbrush3pwood

I dunno if anyone else did them but this reminds me of those fill in and pass along "questionnaires" of the Myspace days lol. Anyway! 1) Half-Life 2 & Bloodborne. Partly because they are GOAT playthroughs of some of my favourite games, but also because of how much you seemed to love them too. I just like watching people enjoy themselves when playing games. 2) I enjoyed the videos. But have to agree that the DS2 series seemed to burn you out by the end. 3) Don't watch too many gaming channels actually! I do watch some videos about food, crime and movies. I like watching things that involve people talking about how they think/feel about stuff. 4) It was Bloodborne! During one of the lockdowns in the pandemic I got the platinum trophy and wanted to speak with someone about it, but barely any of my friends have played it. So watching someone’s play through was the next best option. Found your channel and haven’t left!

5) Other than Bloodborne, I love RDR2, Final Fantasy X & BG Disco Elysium 3 or Clobs might be in with a shout of being up there. Now make sure you pass this along to 10 friends to answer and share everyone!

Adam

1. My favourite series so far was probably Outer Wilds and Silent Hill, both were new experiences for me as well as you, so getting your reaction to them made them great experiences. 2. I've never been a fan of the Souls games, so I don't feel excited when I see content of them. 3. 2018 God of War was the first playthrough I watched of yours, albeit way after it was released, I'm pretty sure I was on a high of playing it myself, found your video on it and haven't looked back since! 4. I'd say The God of War reboots, Cyberpunk, Starfox Adventures, Twilight Princess and The Stanley Parable have been my highlights so far. Hope everything's going well, looking forward to seeing what your next playthrough will be!

Brendan Geeson

Outerwilds due to the fact you visably seemed to be really enjoying it and it's a fantastic story driven game, anything that is RPG aswell is always something that suits your lp. I also loved Halflife series, I was dying for all my favourite YTbers to do an LP but, they didn't so I was so happy you did an LP and once again, seemed to really enjoy it!

Hello Amber, I shall now answer your questions. What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? ------------------------- That has got to be the Hollow Knight series, because it's such a fun world to get lost in and reliving that through your videos was very nice. Also Outer Wilds for the same reasons. I also enjoyed the fun chaos of the Half-Life 1 and 2 series. I also really enjoy short one-video indie games, particularly your A Short Hike video, it just puts you in such a good mood. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? ------------------------- There's not been a Symbalily series that I straight up disliked. If I had to pick one it would probably be Tears of the Kingdom, but it's mostly because I don't really vibe with the open world formula. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? ------------------------- Your videos! And some other let's play channels here and there. And just random stuff. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? ------------------------- It was the Hollow Knight series that popped up in the sidebar one blessed day. What are some of your all-time favourite games? ------------------------- Time to plug my all-time favorite, Wizardry 8. It's a pretty old game, and the 8th game in an even older series. Really though, it's the third and final part of a trilogy consisting of Wizardry 6, 7 and 8. I've only played a bit of 7 as well, the games before 8 are really old and harder to get into, the kind of games you have to play on a DOS emulator. This game has also inspired my own gamedev project that I sometimes spend my free time developing when I can overcome my laziness. Other than that I love Hollow Knight, Outer Wilds. I'm a sucker for a good 3D platformer like Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, etc.

* Favourite let's play on your channel DS1 is probably my number one, but I enjoyed the two Portal games and Stray almost just as much. Additionally, I found it very exciting to see you play a decision-heavy game like Detroit Become Human. * Less favourite let's play Well, it gradually became quite clear that you didn't have much fun with DS2 or the circumstances around the Let's Play, which also somewhat reduced the enjoyment of watching. * Other stuff I watch on YouTube When it comes to gaming related contend I mostly watch nerdy strategy games or souls-likes. Non-DnD-nerds playing Baldur's Gate 3 has also become a favourite of mine. * I discovered your channel because the all knowing algorithm blessed me by auto playing Dark Souls Remastered Episode 1. * Favourite games (in no particular order) - Sekiro (to name just one of the Fromsoftware games) - Vampire: The masquerade - Bloodlines - The Witcher (series) - Victoria II + III - Baldur's Gate 3 - Total War: SHOGUN 2 - Disco Elysium - Cyberpunk 2077 - (Recently) Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader

Joining in with my answers! Favourite series: Hard to pick, but i'd say Dark Souls, then Hollow Knight. Also, Clair Obscur is quickly getting up there too. You have a way of exploring and interacting with the world that i don't see with other youtubers or streamers, so it's always a joy to hear your thoughts and insights when you're walking around, and that really fits the worlds of those games. Least favourite: Has to also be DS2. The flow and joy just wasn't there. You and Emma together was delicious chaos however! It's also not that the episodes themselves weren't enjoyable, but the series as a whole just felt... off. Hearing that you burned out on it also sucks. What kind of Youtube videos: Mostly just relaxing stuff on my second monitor, a game here, stream there, just background noise. What made me check out the channel: I saw a lady playing Hollow Knight on a thumbnail, and that looked interesting to me. Started the video, haven't missed a video since haha. Some of my all time favourite games: I'm a big Fromsoft guy. A top 5: Elden Ring is my favourite game of all time, followed closely by Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. Dark Souls Remastered is next, and Hollow Knight rounds out my top 5. At the end of the day though, i love a lot of games. The Resident Evil series, Final Fantasy, you name it. Clair Obscur has a very special spot in my heart too. Then there's older games like Megaman, Link to the Past is not only my favourite zelda game, it's also the best Zelda game ever made (Twilight Princess got close)... there's a lot! As an aside: The games you play bring a lot of elitists and know-it-alls to the forefront (and just trolls). The Deltarune/Undertale fandom is known for that, Souls games have their fair share for instance, so when you get people that give pushback on how you play? Ignore them. Fully. It's your playthrough, your choices. Sometimes they may not work out the best, sometimes you make mistakes, but at the end of the day that's the fun of gaming. Always playing the optimal way gets boring fast. Don't let them get you down :)

Matthew Kersey

Hi Amber! I started watching your vids when you were playing Dark Souls Remastered and I have been hooked ever since. I really like your choice in games and your upbeat and witty personality. 😊 Been gaming for a long time. My some of my favorites are…Dark Souls, Bloodborne, (+ all FromSoft titles), Castlevania Symphony the Night, Enter the Gungeon, Spelunky, Final Fantasy VII (OG), Resident Evil 2 (OG + all RE titles), Halo 1-3, Tomb Raider 2, Super Mario 64, Metal Gear Solid, Super Meat Boy, Zelda Ocarina of Time (+ all Zelda titles), Crash Bandicoot 2, Stranded Deep…and loads more. My personal preference would be to watch you play classic games or games that have been out for at least a year or two that are top tier. I get the most entertainment from watching you play and experience a game I have already played and loved. Really appreciate all that you do. You are definitely bringing joy to lots of people. 🙌🏼

Florian

Hi! 1.) My fav let's play so far was the Resident Evil parts - followed by Half-Life 2. Mostly because these games are classics and I never played them for myself (really seriously). Adding in your very genuine reactions to jump scares. 2.) I didn't like Hollow Nights - mostly because it's just not my type of game. Dark Souls was interesting to watch for a while, but tooooooo long and you seemed frustrated every now and then, so that's higher up in the "didn't click" series too. I will say that you co-op playing was fun to watch and exciting, though! 3.) What I watch on Youtube: other than let's plays, I had been watching product reviews/game reviews and people teaching technical concepts of how things are done - breakdowns of complex things for people to learn. 4.) I first came here for Zelda - and I stayed :) 5.) All-time favorite games: not many that you played - but mostly because I tend to watch let's plays for games that I don't want to play myself (or don't want to make the time commitment for) but still find interesting because they're well-made or are classics. I am a retro gaming nerd - games that have a long history excite me. I find Indiana Jones and Zelda series fantastic. Another newer game I enjoyed a lot was Tunic. There need to be puzzles of sorts for me personally. For me personally, watching your let's plays is pure entertainment and diving into games that I probably won't have the time to play myself - or I had started, but didn't finish and want to see the ending. They don't have to be the latest games either. I enjoy many of your videos and let's plays and I try to follow along and at least peek into every video for a few minutes - but I'll also turn off games that don't personally excite me; and that's fine.

Chris Dewing

I wanted to answer, but I'm a newbie so please feel free to disregard mine in favour of people who have been around longer, I won't be offended! What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Detroit, not just because of recency bias, but I really enjoyed your reactions throughout (even if it got a bit stressful), and I laughed out loud when you told the poor menu android (Robot Johansson) to do one when she asked if you were friends. I also really liked Hit and Run, and thought your reminiscing added to the quality of the videos. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Nothing that I've watched, but I'm not likely to watch the horror series videos because of cowardice, and I haven't watched Stray yet due to mourning my own cat, but hopefully will soon! What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Oh wow. I'm currently watching a lot of sport videos of highlights from the 90s, a playlist of someone reacting to MCU movies, and a playlist of every OutsideXbox video. I just float all over the place, last year I found myself watching archive footage of World's Strongest Man competitions. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I had been watching videos about a re-master of Hit & Run that someone was working on, and your playthrough of it came up as recommended. What are some of your all-time favourite games? The Yakuza series is my favourite of all time, such an incredible story built around fun game mechanics, and then even better (for me) mechanics when Like a Dragon turned up. For individual titles it would be Red Dead Redemption 2, Xenoblade Chronicles and Forza Horizon 5. Other than that it's a lot of sports games, other racing games, and every Pokémon game ever made.

Andrew LaValley

Favorite playthrough? I liked a lot of them. I liked your dark souls 2 playthrough which is funny that you didn't enjoy as much. The co-op with Emma was great. Outer wilds was fantastic too. Hollow knight of course. Came to your channel from the hollow knight playthrough I think. If you want to do some stuff like repo or lethal company that could be fun. I'd be down for that if our time synced up. I'm in the US though. Also heard Peak was good. Bought it but haven't played. Favorite games include dishonored series, bioshock series, portal series, hollow knight of course. Outer wilds. I also play destiny and rainbow six siege pretty regularly but those are far different. Another game I sometimes revisit is Celeste. I think you might enjoy that one. I've missed some of your playthroughs mostly because I've just been busy sometimes but I do try to keep engaged. Definitely not avoiding watching unless I want to play myself (see Detroit become human). And I watch a large variety on YouTube. I watch a lot of reaction content. Mostly music but also TV and movies, gameplay videos, true crime, and a lot more. I'm on YouTube more than most other streaming platforms.

* What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Dark Souls was my introduction to the channel, so always will have a special place. But Hollow Knight is my favourite seeing you discover that you are better than you thought at the game is the best part, also the caos of Half Life. And I’m loving the Clobs series so far. * On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Dark Souls 2, basically same reasons as you (even tho the co-op videos with Emma were really fun) * What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I've been pretty busy these past few weeks, so I've just been watching stream VODs to have some background noise. * Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Youtube was constantly recommending me the first video of your Dark Souls series to me. The algorithm is wonderful sometimes ❤️

Patrick Down

I never used to watch Let's Play type videos at all. But for some reason, a couple of months ago, I clicked through to your Half Life 2 video and I ended up watching the whole thing. I liked your genuine curiosity about the story and the way you wanted to poke into all the various nooks and crannies in the game. You have thoughtful commentary about the story and gameplay. As an aside, as someone who makes games as a hobby, watching you play and vocalize your thoughts as you play is very interesting. * What's been your favorite let's play on the channel so far and why? Probably Stray followed by the Portal 1/2 ones. I've been very much into puzzle and story heavy games. * What are some of your all-time favorite games? I'm going to leave out the more well know ones. Thief I/II ECHO Ghost of a Tale GRIS LIMBO INSIDE Psychonauts RiME The Talos Principal TUNIC XCOM

W. W. Wiklund

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? I've really enjoyed a lot of them, my first thought is probably Hollow Knight and Outer Wilds on a shared top spot! I also loved Silent Hill 2 and 3, since those are two of my other fav games ever. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Probably Final Fantasy since that series was never really my thing. Same with Subnautica, not really my thing! What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I've been watching a lot of Hades 2 videos since I've been playing that so much. I've also watched a few Signalis playthroughs, which is one of my favourite games ever and it's kinda fit my mood recently. Also, videos about specific things I'm doing in the Godot game engine while making a game, and video essays doing interesting media criticism. Jacob Geller is a big fav here, and eurothug4000 is another. Eurothug4000 made some amazing videos about the Silent Hill games that I highly recommend. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I originally saw you play Bloodborne but didn't stick with it, I remember thinking it was exciting to see another game artist's perspective playing through games! I later saw your first Hollow Knight video pop up in my feed and started watching every video on release because I enjoyed your personality and perspective so much but HK was a game I was more familiar with. It also motivated me to pick it back up and finish it, haha. What are some of your all-time favourite games? Hard to choose! Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines is a big fav and I'm really excited for the sequel still (having waited for literally 20 years for it). The Beginner's Guide, Signalis, Slay the Spire, Disco Elysium, Planescape: Torment, all those are on the list as well. It's hard to decide!

TonyBadP5

Hey Amber, Don't know if my answers matter as I rarely watch a series entirely (it is too long for me)... but I have watched many bits or first videos when you launch a series. 1. The first one and favorite series of yours is Hollow Knight. Love that game and your playthrough was so great to witness: your sense of details and discovery is still the best. Also love the short games videos just because they are more watchable for me and the time I have. 2. Not much to say here. Maybe a Red Dead but more because I don't like that game... and clicked for the hope that maybe through your eyes I could like it more. But nope. 3. As for gaming, Rocket League videos, your videos, and Playstation Access. So apart from yours, I don't watch Let's Plays. And for the rest, sport and classical music concerts mainly. 4. Hollow Knight: I was obsessed with that game at the time of your Let's Play. And your discovering it was great. Then I watched your series on Nier: Automata (about halfway). Every time, it is your sense of detail and deduction that are good to see. And then, what make me stay is you have a very calming voice that I love (so most of the time, I don't even look at the video but just put it on, work on something on the side and listen to the voice), and there is something very likeable in your personality (at least in the persona you show, I am not pretending to know the everyday you of course). Also your taste in games is great and you have covered a few of my favorite ones. 5. Favorite games (some for the story, some for the gameplay): * Rocket League * Nier: Automata * Hollow Knight * The Last of Us * Tomb Raider series (especially the Legend, Anniversary, Underworld trilogy) * Halo (the first one mainly) * Kung Fu Chaos. Take care

Heya! What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Alice: Madness Returns, it's a game I love, i'm a new viewer so not watched many of the different games yet, but I really liked how you managed to pick up on things throughout the game and piece it all together so easily! On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? I've only watched 5-6? different playthroughs, I don't have one that hasn't clicked yet! What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I've always been into watching the various reaction channels, mostly for the stuff i've watched, listened to or played recently, sometimes just because I like the people behind them. A lot of nature videos, like Owls adopting/looking after orphans, fills my heart with joy! Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? The Portal 2 playthrough! I click on them whenever they get recommended, I loved your ideas/thoughts throughout the game, figuring out who/what GlaDOS is and how quickly you caught onto the goings on of the game, thats what got me checking out more games you've played What are some of your all-time favourite games? There's too many, off the top of my head: Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Divinity Original Sin 2, XCOM 2, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Project Zomboid, Rimworld, Skyrim and Expedition 33 has very quickly made its way up there

Mogura

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Probably The Last of Us 2 or Subnautica On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Most of the series for games I havent played yet. Not sure why but I tend to prefer watching games I've already played to see what other people think and how they do things differently. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I tend to watch informative youtube videos mostly. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I wanted to watch a playthrough of TLOU2 but most people were not really appreciating the game. However I really enjoyed how you engaged a lot with the story and game. What are some of your all-time favourite games? What Remains of Edith Finch, Stellaris, Hollow Knight, Blue Prince, Stardew Valley, and Baldur's Gate 3

1. What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Probably either your Subnautica series or RE2 Remake although HK is up there too. It's difficult to say why though, I think it's a combination of me already loving those games and the fact that I (Just like everybody else here) really like your personality and how you navigate a game when you're really enjoying yourself. Sidenote: I also love your Silent Hill and Dino Crisis playthroughs and hope there was enough traction there to warrant more retro games on the channel. 2. What was a series that didn't click for you and why? DS2 didn't click for me but I'm not much of a fan of the game so it made sense. I did love the co-op episodes but overall I got the sense that you weren't enjoying yourself. 3. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I'm watching Let's Plays of Death Stranding (the first one), the majority of that game is very Zen with nothing but the sounds of Sam (the protagonist) making his way through the terrain and the occasional very chill song. It's nice. The Death Stranding Let's Players I'm watching right now are Mapocolops, Emmalition and Jakisaur Plays. 4. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? It was your TLOU 2 playthrough. It was actually the first video game playthrough that I ever watched so it introduced me to this whole Let's Play world to the point where I'm making them now too (poorly). 5. What are some of your all-time favourite games? Divinity: Original Sin 2, LoZ Breath of the Wild and OoT, Metal Gear Solid, God of War (2018), FF7 (1998), RE2 (1998), Silent Sill 2 (OG), TLOU 1 & 2 and Death Stranding to name a few. You're Awesome! I'm sure everybody in this community is just as excited as I am to see where you go next!

Before finding this channel, my taste in games had been stuck in the past. I enjoyed childhood classics like Zelda, and remakes/reboots of classics like FF7 and the new God of War games. It was when I finally set out to finish Bloodborne that I found my first of Amber's playthroughs. It rewired me to just enjoy the game, and the little improvements I made along the way. Since then I've played and added many more to my favorite games list, like Hollow Knight and Outer Wilds. My favorite series might be the Resident Evil ones. It was good timing with the remakes that were released and they were short enough for me to pick up and play before watching the playthroughs. The costumes were also fun during RE3, and later Silent Hill. Interestingly, I didn't take to Outlast as much, but that mostly comes down to the game itself. My YouTube feed is usually made up of gaming news, short comedy skits, and longer video essays, but Amber's videos hold a strong presence as well. I look forward to whatever's next!

* Favorite let's play There were a lot of good ones like FFVII, Hollow Knight, Portal and so on. But if I have to choose just one, I’d take BloodBrone or FFVII haha. Why? Because I really like how you can see a lot of details, and even though I had a tough time with those games, you somehow made them look easy… I was amazed. * Series that didn’t click for me I wouldn’t say they didn’t click, but I’ve noticed I haven’t watched the small series like Alien, Dredge, A short hike, etc. I’d love to discover new games and hear your opinion about them. However, I’ve been kind of busy lately, so when I chose a gameplay to watch, it’s something I’m already interested in. * What kind of videos do I watch lately? I also play things in the background, to do other things or maybe short videos. Sometimes I play gameplays of titles I’ve already finished, so I don’t need to stay focused all the time in that. * What brought me to your channel I had just finished BloodBorne and was marvelled by it when you suddenly appeared on YouTube with the title “Dev plays…” so you got me intrigued by the thought of what you would say about it, and I ended up watching the whole series. * All-time favorite games OoT, Elden Ring, Xenoblade Chronicles and Nier Automata.

Hi What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Outer wilds. It is one of my favourites and your way of exploring, understanding, enthusiasm for the game really made it stand out. Also God of War and Bloodborne. Clair Obscur will likely rise high on my list as well. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Anything horror related. I do not like horror games and do not play them myself. As for DS2 I actually liked the co-op but it felt like the game did not "work" with you.- What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Some gameplay videos, some book videos, but mostly different videos from people working. Like POV cooking, train driving, etc. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I had just finished my playthrough of Outer wilds and was desperate to relive the experience and stumbled on your videos. Then I went back and started your God of War series, followed by the rest of the backlog. I finally subscribed on your Jedi fallen order video. What are some of your all-time favourite games? Outer Wilds Disco Elysium Dishonered Skyrim The Witcher 3 Obduction

Hope all is well; it's a pain to be stuck in a rut when you want to be in a groove. Favorite Series: - Those few OoT videos were incredibly comfy for me to watch even if it was just you revisiting a game you knew - A Short Hike since I bought the game after watching you play for a bit, then went back to watch the video. It was cool to be inspired to play something by you, and then seeing you appreciate it the same way I just did - The Silent Hill and Half-Life playthroughs came at the right time for me, I really liked you figuring out the old games and your appreciation for environmental design/texture work - Thanks Goodness You're Here/Portal were short and sweet while being funny and light. - Hollow Knight/Outer Wilds/Subnautica were pretty invigorating to watch, knowing each episode will push you deeper into the mystery "Didn't Click": - Not a fan of the hide-and-seek horror stuff like Outlast/Isolation (but definitely looking forward to you playing that Jurassic Park horror game) - the one thing that really bugged me about DS2 is I had NO idea of the geography of the world. I assume it's the game's fault and not the editing, but I never knew "where" you were at any point of the playthrough - I really did not like chaos of FF7R combat and tended to skip through it Types of videos I'm watching: - The Silent Hill playthroughs led me to find the "melancholy ambient Silent Hill videos" section of YouTube which I've been liking. - Been trying to do a lot more hands-on craft stuff so any podcast-y long videos. Watched your first ClObs video while painting miniatures for the first time! Finding Your Channel: - I think I found it during the Bloodborne algorithm push, but I started watching your videos because of the Edith Finch playthrough. Then joined the Patreon with Hollow Knight because I needed that fix. Favorite Games: I like shorter stuff with a simple artstyle and fun worldbuilding: Grim Fandango, Journey😉, Machinarium🎵, Mini Ninjas, Return of the Obra Dinn😉,Outer Wilds, Hollow Knight. Trying to plan out and maintain engagement on a youtube channel must be a nightmare, luckily Silksong will be out any day now! Looking forward to what you do next, whatever it is.

- What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Hollow Knight/Outer Wilds. What I most appreciate in your content is hearing your unique perspectives on games I already know and love since you always pay a lot of attention, think deeply and get fully invested in the worlds, characters and themes - which not many people I know IRL do lol You're also much better at slowing down and taking things in than me so it's always cool seeing you notice things I missed - like getting to experience those games in a whole new way 😅 Much looking forward to more Clair Obscur for those reasons! Also enjoy games I haven't played but which present thought-provoking topics for you to give your perspectives on, like Detroit (in spite of its often frustrating game design) and To The Moon. Your pause and discuss moments are often my highlights haha - On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Usually just bounce off games I already didn't like, like Undertale or Dark Souls (controversial, maybe). Can't think of any games I liked which I didn't also enjoy your playthroughs of, so can't really point to anything that didn't work. Except maybe when you made Cuphead look way too easy beating every boss in a fraction of my attempts... 😂 - What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Along the lines of my first answer, opinions/discussions of media I enjoy, looking for interesting perspectives or things I missed - most recently for Andor and Clair Obscur. No other let's plays, occasionally some multiplayer stuff but usually more on the discussion/deep-dive side of things when it comes to games, or challenge content (e.g. Zelda randomisers, Pokemon challenge runs), though that's pretty far from your style. - Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I also played Hollow Knight in 2022, became obsessed, and when I ran out of content to play started looking for YouTube content. Your part 1 dropped and was recommended at just the right time and was by far the best first playthrough I'd come across (for the reasons already mentioned)! - What are some of your all-time favourite games? Hollow Knight, Outer Wilds, Hades, Pokemon Emerald, Wind Waker, Halo 3, Oblivion, BioShock (to name a few)

1 Bloodborne, its my favorite game. You and Emma got me into these lets play vids. So thank you, I guess... 2 I dont watch vids of games i still want to play or games that are not in my lane. But I tried one time with Undertale and I could not get into it. Im now watching outer wilds and dont understand a lot of what is going on. But you make it worth while. I like your goofyness and trying to figure out what is going on. But in that game it feels strange not to play for yourself. Unlike games as Detroit where I didnt mind at all to not make the choises myself. I liked DS2 with Emma. But maybe saw it on her channel because she might have been faster in editing. 3. I dont watch to many lets plays anymore. I watch history and politics. On the rev left side of things. So solidarity! 4 You play very attentive. You notice a lot of things. That is nice if I want you to experience I game I love fully. But it is also good to know for games I haven't played and will never play like RE1 2 3 4 etc and HL1 and 2 and Portal. 5 After BB it is Sekiro. I also played Elder Scrolls a lot and all the Witcher games but I dont think I would see a lets play for it. Like I also just saw 1 playthrough of Elden Ring. Those games are just too long. Than there was Red Dead Redemption 2. I liked that a lot too. But unlike Sekiro or Bloodborne I wouldnt play that again. The Witcher 3 I did play again because I never finished the 2nd DLC. I forgotten most things but when I beat the first DLC again I knew exactly why quit the first time. The game is just too long. And the first DLC is not that great and than you have a whole new place to discover and it becomes too much. But 2nd time did beat it.

| What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? I'm going to say Dark Souls. This was the series that brought me to the channel, so how could anything be better? | On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? I'll agree with Dark Souls 2. I enjoyed watching your playthrough. I didn't enjoy the overall animosity that people have towards the game, and how that impacted your playthrough. I will also say that I, personally, felt like DS2 was a slog when I played it. I didn't complete all of the content, and I don't feel bad about it. I think you did a fantastic job and kept up with it longer than I did. I absolutely feel the souls exhaustion. You might feel like it was a "bad idea" in retrospect, and I'll just say that there aren't that many DS2 playthroughs out there because of the stigma. In the long run, I think the series would be missed if you had skipped it, and I think that the experience you gained has influenced your channel and gameplay in a positive way. | What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I watch a lot of stream VODs or first playthroughs. The length of videos are either 20 min, 1 hour, or 2+ hours. I typically watch shorter form videos in the morning while I'm having coffee. The longer videos I will put on in the background instead of music or whatever. Sometimes I will put a VOD on my tablet while I'm playing a game on my TV or put a VOD on my TV while I'm playing on my Steam Deck. Depending on the video, it can inspire me to play along (i.e. Valheim has drawn me in a few times). Since the release of Nightreign, I've been playing along with streamers in real time. That way viewers can hop into a game with players who have a similar experience. Interestingly aside from Nightreign, I don't enjoy multiplayer games too much. That being said, I always watch Gab and friends with their co-op games. | Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Dark Souls Remastered. I was specifically looking for the catharsis of watching a newb experience the game. I look for authenticity in first playthroughs, so I will often stop watching new YouTubers pretty quickly. Luckily you always come across as authentic to me, and I was hooked. | What are some of your all-time favourite games? Earthbound, Mother 3, Dark Souls, A Link to the Past, Outer Wilds, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Nightreign... This list might get long. | You didn't ask, but additional thoughts: I think you're doing great. Not ever video or series will be a hit. I think people like to complain about how people play games when their personal experience doesn't match what they see. Those people have some emotional problems they need to work through. I don't know the stats, but I would guess the vast majority of viewers watch and enjoy without ever liking or commenting in a positive way. I'm one of those who think that the comment system is a toxic place to live, and don't typically engage with it at all. I would look at the percentage of time that viewers watch and basically ignore the negative feedback unless it is overwhelming or unanimous. I'm not on Discord or whatnot too much these days. If you're ever interested in having a conversation about any of these questions or concerns, don't be afraid to reach out!

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? - FF7 remake. I played it as my first FF game a few months before you started the series and really enjoyed seeing the game through your perspective. Another vote would be for ‘A Short Hike’, even if that was only a short game. What was a series that didn't click for you and why? - A couple others have said this, but it may be some of the horror games, mostly due to my own gaming preferences. Although, I have liked the RE games! Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? - I believe it was God of War (2018). I was late to the party playing this and then found your play through shortly after finishing it myself. Subscribed after that! Then I believe I watched Hollow Knight. What are some of your all-time favourite games? - Hades (or Supergiant Games as a collective, if I could do that). From my childhood, the Spyro trilogy was very influential. More recently, FF7 Remake and Rebirth got me into that series. And I’m still finishing up Expedition 33, but that has really shot up my list of favorite games.

Julian

A little Q&A? Sounds fun 😄 1. I can't pick a single favorite playthrough, honestly (sorry if that isn't helpful, haha), but I'll narrow it down to top 3 in no particular order. I love the Dark souls 1 let's play (one of my favorite games and enjoyed seeing you play it). I love the To The Moon let's play (I just love that game to bits). And I have to give the last one to Outer Wilds (seeing you figure the puzzles out was so fun and the game itself is just so amazing!). I'm also really enjoying the Expedition 33 run so far. Definitely my favorite game I played this year and I enjoy seeing you enjoy it, too 2. I really don't know if there's any let's plays I didn't like, but if I had to pick one, I kind of wasn't too into Deltarune? I don't think it was your playing of it, it was more the game I didn't get to into, personally. I liked Undertale and still liked Deltarune, but just wasn't as pulled in as much by it. And I can understand the Dark souls 2 trouble, but I enjoyed it 3. Other than yours, of course, I watch a lot of gaming youtubers like jackspeticeye, markiplier and his friends (currently enjoying blueprince from lordminion777). Some movie reviewers, and some other random ones like cenimatherapy or the theory channels. I also love having videos for rain, thunder, etc especially when I'm writing or reading (currently reading Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, not that it's important, haha) 4. I don't remember for sure, but I think I found your channel when you were playing through Bloodborne, which I thought was great (obviously). 5. As with the first answer, I can't possibly pick a single favorite game, haha. But, in no order, some, interchangeably, would maybe be Dark souls 1 (I have a big bonfire tattoo and all), Mass Effect trilogy, almost anything from Naughty Dog and Santa Monica Studios, Outer Wilds, Telltale's Walking Dead (but specifically season 1) and to throw an unpopular one I like to turn on that I find strangely relaxing, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture Thanks for asking us all this 😁 Looking forward to whatever you have planned, as usual! 😁

Fav Let’s Play: I tend to think in moments rather than full series. But if I had to pick a game, it'd be Undertale. It’s such a memorable experience on its own, but I really appreciated how you clicked with the humor and shared your introspective take on friendship, and on being liked (or not liked) by others. So relatable. It reminded me how games can be an escape from life, but also a conduit for processing it. Series That Didn’t Click: Honestly, I’ve had good takeaways from all your playthroughs, including DS2 (which I’d never played). “Drink, you little shit!” as Zuko took their sweet time to heal made me laugh. I also loved how Emma’s edits included different outtakes or bloopers from your co-op sessions. Very funny. That said, it was a long stretch that wore down your spirits. I felt for you. Must’ve felt good to finally finish it though. If I skip a series, it’s usually because I plan to play the game myself before watching your take on it. What I’ve Been Watching Lately: Video essays, retrospectives, and making-of documentaries on games, films, books, music, or any creative pursuit. I love seeing things being made, and I’m inspired by the process behind them. Food/travel content is fun too. Your work is an outlier in my feed; I don’t really consume much let’s play content outside of here. I do watch some reaction videos, but I’m selective. If it feels genuine and thoughtful, I tend to appreciate it more. Also, I can definitely appreciate an ambient music playlist. First Impression: It was your reaction to the Tears of the Kingdom trailer. Your genuine enthusiasm got me even more hyped for the game. And when you started playing it, I remember being impressed by your skill. There was a Gleeok that punished you over and over, but you persevered and defeated it… with only like 7 hearts as your max! Respect. When I first saw one of those, I glided away screaming like a baby. I also remember watching your Short Hike playthrough, which charmed the hell out of me. Then you started Dark Souls and Resident Evil 2–4 (loved those), and I think that’s when I started pledging here. Around that time, you posted a short montage/vignette of a road trip you took. It was melancholic and beautiful. Really cool to see your eye capturing scenery like that. I’ve quietly hoped for more ever since (even though it’s not gaming-related). I ❤️ your style. All-Time Favorite Games: Digging back to my formative days... - Link to the Past / Ocarina of Time / Majora / Wind Waker - EarthBound - Chrono Trigger - Mario RPG - Mario 1, 2, 3, & World - Yoshi’s Island - LucasArts point-and-click adventures (Wow...lots of Nintendo, and feeling old 😅) Some others... - Shovel Knight games - Hollow Knight - Animal Well - Resident Evil series - Pikmin 3 - Katamari games - Bloodborne (thanks to you!) Thank you for asking...and for making this channel!

1. Favorite is GOW, epic playthrough with great commentary and FF7 Remake. 2. Not interested in games like Dark Souls, Portal or Deltarune. 3. I usually watch people play games I'm interested in but not enough to actually buy, like Silent Hill 2 and/or games I have played and loved and rewatch some of my favorite youtubers play it agian. 4. First saw your channel playing GOW. 5. The Last of us Part 1, GOW, Control, Super Mario Bros 3, Uncharted 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, GTA IV, Astro Bot, Alien Isolation

what brought me to your channel was Outer Wilds! i really adored your play through and observations. i got too anxious about the game and wasn’t able to finish it but being able to watch way you played it to completion was very satisfying! i really loved your Stray play through as well. i enjoyed your A Little to the Left and Thank Goodness You’re Here videos too. ❤️ there’s not a specific video series that didn’t click for me, only if it’s a game im not interested in then i haven’t tuned into that series❤️ videos im watching lately lean into games with compelling storytelling (Clair Obscur) as well as games with whimsy (Thank Goodness You’re Here) 🌞 my favourite games at the moment are Date Everything, Zelda BOTW, Citizen Sleeper, Disco Elysium

LatterDayMutant

Fav let's play has to be Final Fantasy VII Remake. Probably because that's one of my fav games, but also the fact that you're so quick to catch on to game mechanics, paired with your attention to story details/world building, made that series my all-time fav let's play of that game. A series that didn't click for me was undertale/deltarune, don't know why but I've never been able to get into those games so it's not really anything you did. What brought me on to the channel was either Bloodborne or TLOU; I can't remember which I started with, but you quickly became one of my fav YouTubers. I mostly watch gaming, video essays about interesting topics/media I enjoy, and music stuff (I play classical piano and like to produce music as a hobby). My fav games are FFVII, FFX, Resident Evil series (basically all of them lol), Bloodborne, and the Dishonored trilogy.

Bloodborne is gonna be my answer to half of your questions 😂 Bloodborne is probably my favourite game, I found your channel looking for Bloodborne let’s plays and it’s one of my favourite playthroughs of yours. I did like the Darks Souls 2 playthrough very much, playing coop with Emma was really fun to watch and I look forward to another crossover with her 😊 Hollow Knight playthrough also amazing, I really like the game and I loved seeing how you love it. I also feel like the Observation Duty livestreams deserve some love. Playthroughs that didn’t appeal to me so much were Tears of the Kingdom and Outlast. The issue isn’t with the videos, but with the games (their existence annoys me to the point where I get angry 😂) Aside from your channel (which genuinely is my favourite), my Youtube hours are generally spent on videogames; mostly in-depth and (pseudo-)scientific analyses (Matthewmatosis, Joseph Anderson, Pop Culure Detective), but also reviews and let’s plays (Eurogamer, Outsidexbox). Non-videogame channels are Maya Higa’s and Alveus Sanctuary’s. Some other favourite games are Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Half Life 2, Teardown, Bastion, Transistor, Final Fantasy 7R, Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout New Vegas and Hellblade.

1. Bloodborne, Subnautica, FF VII, also loved the one offs like A Short Hike, Unpacking and A Little To The Left. 2. I'd have to look over the playlist but I generally really enjoy your playthroughs due to your attention to the story and comments about it. 3. I mostly watch gaming playthroughs or something music related. Live music or discussions relating to bass guitar since I play bass. 4. I don't remember although it might have been you playing co-op with Emma. 5. The original Deus Ex, original Unreal. AC Origins and Odyssey. Red Dead Redemption 2. Subnautica. The older games I've played many times and the newer ones I enjoy the open world as I just take my time and enjoy "living" in the environment. I loved the historic stuff in the AC games like the lighthouse at Alexandra in Origins. There certainly are more but that's all for now.

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Bloodborne and or Hollow Knight. Why, hm, dunno, well they're both one of my favorite games, and you didn't only do them justice but the level of skill was amazing, plus the attention to detail, you've seen and connected stuff I've missed altogether. Both of those playthoroughs of yours are my favorite playthroughs of those games ever, maybe even of any game. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Subnautica, another one of my favorites, but dunno why it didn't click, maybe because you were a bit scattered during it, I even remember you mentioning it during the playthrough, maybe it didn't fit you, or didn't show your strengths as much. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Game playthroughs or just regular videos? I watch a loooot of random stuff, but with games, dunno, I've been whatching a lot of Blue Prince lately, Geoguessr as well, and some games I like from creators I like, ie Hades, Lies of P, Disco Elysium etc. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Bloodborne I think, I got it in my feed and decided to check it out and have stuck in ever since. Then HK came and the rest was history. Tho nothing caught that spark fom me as much since then, dunno why, maybe our tastes in games diverged, or you played stuff I haven't yet played but wanted to so I wanted to avoid spoilers, dunno. What are some of your all-time favourite games? As mentioned above, Hollow Knight, Subnautica, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Blue Prince now..I have a lot of core memories with a lot of games from when I was a kid as well, but can't say that they compare really with these newer ones. Hope this helps, and I hope you find a groove with the channel, seems like you've been trying to find it for some time now, hope it comes. I'll be here whatever you decide.

James Pagliaro

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Your Bloodborne play through was so great! You always seem to have a unique take on things because of your attention to details, and Bloodborne was perfectly suited to you because of this. Silent hill was also very entertaining! COE33 is shaping up to be a fave, even though your reaction to Gus broke my heart 🥺 On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Subnautica and half life because first person makes me 🤢 Cuphead is a great game, but watching someone else play didn't grab me. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Same as always... Reaction videos, let's plays, science stuff, music stuff. I'm comfortably in my groove. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? YouTube suggested your Last of Us play through and then I watched every video you put out until outer wilds (🤢). TLoU always draws me in, it's always interesting seeing people's reactions to it's many stand-out set peices. What are some of your all-time favourite games? Sorry, I love a list... Bloodborne Dark Souls Demon Souls Sekiro Hollow Knight Metal Gear Solid Series (1, 3 & 4 especially) RE2 og & Remake Shadow of The Collosus Nier Replicant and Automata TLoU 1 & 2 Celeste Final Fantasy 6, 7 & 9 Inside Super mario kart Mario 2 A link to the past StarCraft 2 Tetris Effect

What's been your favourite Let's Play on the channel so far, and why? Probably your playthrough of Hollow Knight or Undertale/Deltarune. Hollow Knight is my favorite game, so seeing anyone play it, especially when they take the care to really fully breathe in the world and immerse themselves like you do, is always a treat. Undertale and Deltarune, because your sense of comedy, I feel like the vibes just match really well. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you, and why? None that I've watched, really. I suppose there are let's plays of yours that I'll probably never watch, because I haven't played those games, but that's a slight annoyance at worst, and that's a problem every let's play channel faces. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Recently, I've been really enjoying deep dive content where the YouTuber combs over everything in a certain piece of media, be it a game, show, or book. Other than that, the usual fare for me is Let's Plays, reactions, and video essays. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I can't really remember, but I'm sure it was probably something to do with either getting your HK lets play on my home page, or it was me looking for a HK lets play. Been watching you regularly since then. What are some of your all-time favourite games? I guess here's my loose top 10 from bestish to worstish. Hollow Knight Rain World Omori Undertale/Deltarune Disco Elysium Elden Ring Dark Souls I 1000xRESIST Red Dead Redemption 2 The Stanley Parable Thank you for creating such great content over these past few years. It's always exciting to see a new Let's Play from you, even if it's not one I plan to watch, because you treat every game with a lot of care, and that positivity will rub off on a lot of people, and I think that's just great.

Ooh, an interesting set of questions! ^_^ Okay... > "What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why?" ... I answer in fear of the repercussions, but... quite possibly "Dark Souls 2". ^^; The "jolly cooperation" between you and Emma was delightful: you two really have a heartwarming and enjoyable-to-watch camaraderie, and bounce off of each other in a really entertaining fashion! ^_^ Although your experience of "Undertale" gives it a good run for its money. That was a playthrough that really showed off your compassion, which was really great to see—and the game itself was delightfully goofy fun! ^_^ Another candidate might be your Hollow Knight playthrough! It's been a while now since I saw it, but I seem to recall that your love for the world of Hallownest was really engaging—and, as above, the game itself was amazing and beautiful! ^_^ > "On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why?" Hmm... I think that there have been a few games that just didn't capture my interest, as a matter of personal taste. For example, I wanted to like "To the Moon"... but just didn't stay interested. Likewise, I wanted to like "Alice: Madness Returns"... but it just didn't hold my enthusiasm. > "What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately?" Mainly let's plays, I daresay, with a smattering of educational stuff (I've been really into PBS "Eons" of late) and some shorts. The let's plays can be divided roughly into two sets: 1) Those that I intend to watch "properly", paying full attention, and 2) Those that I intend to listen to while working or doing the dishes. (The latter tend to be of games that I've seen let's plays of before, where I mind less missing things here and there.) > "Do you remember what first made you check out my channel?" Looking back, I think that it may well have been "Bloodborne". To this day, I believe that you remain the only let's player who has kept my interest in a playthrough of "Bloodborne" or "Dark Souls"! > "What are some of your all-time favourite games?" Oh wow, how long do you have? XD;; Okay, okay, a few: * The "Gabriel Knight" series. - Old point-and-clicks with a horror-ish theme (without really being horror, to my sensibility, at least), and really good plots weaving history and (urban) fantasy. - Notable (to my mind) in that each game tried a new art style, as the medium advanced at the time: pixel-art, then FMV (yes, a genuinely good FMV game! :P), then early 3D. * The "Quest for Glory" series—especially the third game! - A series of point-and-click/RPG hybrid games, of a sort little-imitated since. Set in a world both fantastic and at times humorous. * "Thief: The Dark Project" - A master-thief in an urban-fantasy setting gets somewhat-unwillingly roped into saving the world. Well, not without lining his pockets along the way... * "Aquaria" - An exploratory metroidvania in a beautiful, bittersweet underwater world. A search for companionship becomes a larger quest... * "The Vortex: Quantum Gate II" - A really weird FMV point-and-click; strange in a way that I like! * "Clive Barker's Undying" - A very fun, dark horror shooter, with some neat mechanics to its name. * "The Excavation of Hob's Barrow" - A truly incredible, very well-written folk-horror point-and-click. Goes to some distinctly dark places... * "Deus Ex" (the original) - A first-person action-RPG, dealing with questions of the trustworthiness of those in power, of conspiracy theories, and touching on transhumanism. * "Heaven's Vault" - A game, essentially, of archaeology and inferred translation amidst the space-rivers of a great nebula. * "Jill of the Jungle" - My comfort game. It's very old, and it's very clunky by modern standards, but it also holds great nostalgia for me, as well as an overall tone that I rather savour. Okay okay, I'll leave it there! Though I could keep going, I daresay! ^^;

*Favorite playthrough*: Probably Hollow Knight, you were so engaged, thoughtful and passionate about the game. Honorable mention: Dark Souls and Half Life 2. *Playthrough I didn't click with*: None that sticks out blatantly. I rarely watch videos for games I haven't played, so I know what I'm in for. And even for mediocre games, you're still awesome cos you're still you. *Youtube videos, currently*: Doubt this is useful, but I watch a lot NFL and F1 stuff. Some movie reactions. Lofi and video game soundtracks during work. *How I found the channel*: Your Hollow Knight playful grabbed me immediately bcs it was so different from others. It was obvious you loved the game. *Favorite game/series*: X-COM series. Mass Effect trilogy. Witcher 3. Hollow Knight. Elden Ring. Spiritfarer.

Favourite let's play: Hollow Knight! But also cuz I just adore the game. Also really enjoy your co-op videos with Emma a lot. So joyful and fun to watch! Series that didn't click for you: Nothing yet! I have not watched everything due to lack of time, but so far have enjoyed all your let’s play videos! What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? - yours, Emmalition, and cooking videos :) Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? - I started playing Dark Souls and needed to watch someone good at souls games. Stumbled across your channel and found I really jived with your thorough style where you take tome to explore every nook and cranny in a game, and appreciate the ambience, music, environment, story, etc. What are some of your all-time favourite games? - Hollow Knight, Tunic, Riven

1. What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? How do I pick?? XD Hollow Knight, To The Moon, Unpacking, Thank Goodness You're Here, Before Your Eyes, Cuphead, Undertale + Deltarune, Portals 1 and 2, Ori and the Blind Forest, Dredge, A Short Hike... right now I'm loving your Stray playthrough and I'm looking forward to watching your Clair Obscur playthrough after that :D 2. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? I realized that I wasn't super into Dark Souls after a couple of episodes - not your fault, you were absolutely wonderful in the episodes that I watched, the game itself just wasn't my cup of watching-tea. (It was the first non-Elden-Ring FromSoft Lets Play that I watched, and I thought I'd like it more because I've enjoyed watching other people's Elden Ring playthroughs, but... obviously Dark Souls is not Elden Ring lol) Also - it makes me sad to see you sad! I'm ok with content coming out slowly or not at all, as long as you're taking care of yourself. I'd much rather watch Genuinely Happy Amber (or, well, an Amber that's Genuinely Enjoying Things for games that are sad/scary/not-supposed-to-be-happy) than an Amber that's forcing herself to do something and/or act cheerful "for the sake of the channel". 3. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I usually put on videogame playthroughs in the background while I'm working. I get motion sick easily, and am also just generally pretty crap at anything involving quick reflexes or hand-eye coordination, so a lot of my videogame consumption is vicarious, ahaha. I have a shortlist of go-to Youtubers and Twitch streamer vod channels XD I enjoy watching people who are fairly thorough in their gameplay so I get to see everything, are enthusiastic about games, and have cozy/chill vibes - like you! 4. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I think it was when I was on a Hollow Knight kick (I've watched... probably at least 3 or 4 other playthroughs of it, not including yours, at this point XD) I can't remember how exactly I encountered your particular version - possibly Youtube recommendations lol 5. What are some of your all-time favourite games? Of the stuff that's on your channel... possibly Hollow Knight, Tunic, Thank Goodness You're Here, Unpacking, Cuphead, the Portals For stuff that hasn't been on your channel yet... Spiritfarer Hades Another Crab's Treasure Untitled Goose Game Chants of Sennaar Heaven's Vault Rain World UFO 50 Dream Daddy OneShot Going Under Broken Age All of this in no particular order lol

Favourite Playthrough? The few episodes of OoT, seemed genuinely giddy when playing. Then probably Hollow Knight. Didn't click with? Probably FF7, Final Fantasy games just never click with me, I try very hard to enjoy them but they seem to always fall flat. Youtube Videos? Skill Up reviews, Friends per Second podcast, videos about what multiplayer game I'm playing atm (Guild Wars 2, Path of Exile, REPO, Peak). Horror game shorts (Too many too count). There's other unrelated to gaming content I watch; like music videos, technology, and TV/movie show stuff, and news. What made me check out your channel? Probably some algorithm shenanigans, I think I was talking to my friends about why there hasn't been a Bloodborne remake, I also like the name 'Lily'. Google reads minds and your channel popped up with an ongoing Bloodborne playthrough. All-Time favourite games? Majoras Mask, Ocarina of Time, Outer Wilds, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Day of the Tentacle come to the top of my head to be honest.

Favourite Lets Play: I think your Hollow Knight playthrough was fantastic, it introduced me to the channel and got me to finish the game which I gave up on before – now its my favourite game. I think perhaps shorter ones with a strong story thread with a clear beginning/end, like Half Life, the Portals, Silent Hill, Stray work well, but really anything that you enjoy yourself. Like Im really enjoying ClObs too because it seems you are, though I imagine hard to edit that much content. Didn’t Click: Maybe the more open worldly ones that don’t have a linear-ish story, where its uncertain as to what to do next - maybe like Tears of the Kingdom. Though I enjoyed Subnautica, in how you uncovered all the lore and took the time, and kept it a lot of fun. Agree on Dark Souls 2, it seemed like it could be tough to know where to go, what to do. Watching Lately: Mostly gaming playthroughs, like yours and Emmalitions, some VR gaming content, gaming reviews, other pop culture-ish stuff. Like the ambient stuff too, lots of synthwave etc while working. First Intro: Hollow Knight! Was struggling with it, and the sense of adventure with your playthrough got me back into it, and watching gaming playthroughs in general really. Big respect for the way you take the time to get secrets, though I’m 110% only, Ive made my peace that last 2% is beyond me..never let it be said you arent seriously, seriously skilled - with other games too All Time Favourties: For me HK, Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, the Bioshocks, Cyberpunk 2077, Control, the Half Lifes

Your Outer Wilds playthrough was indeed the one that got me hooked on the channel, and then Dark Souls 1 and Hollow Knight confirmed that. I'm rewatching the first DS1 video a bit now to refresh my memory… For me the things that stand out as really really working: * Taking the time to engage with the systems. Whenever something new happens (new equipment, tutorial on an action button, etc…) you take a minute to try it out and make sure you understand it. Personally I find it fairly frustrating to watch when people just ignore parts of a game and then struggle as a result, especially if I've played the game myself. * Enthusiastically joyful bloodthirst. "It's all over for you" after learning jump attack, "it's time to burn" after getting pyromancy working, etc… really the enthusiasm and emotional investment in general though * Taking the time to admire and examine the game world and tell us about the things you notice. You're absurdly insightful, and it's enjoyable to watch someone who really cares. For what didn't work… I actually did still quite enjoy it, but as a fellow ADHD-er, watching you forget your oxygen meter existed every 60 seconds in Subnautica hit painfully close to home 😅 Definitely something I would do. As for what I watch, pretty much just this tbh. Gaming and reading and cooking are my normal hobbies, watching things is an exception. Favorite games, what luck, I just put together a "top 5 of the last decade" list for myself: Witcher 3, Outer Wilds, Baldurs Gate 3, Hollow Knight, Disco Elysium. …with an honorable mention to Sayonara Wild Hearts for being a tiny shining gem of pure neon-drenched joy. I started playing Clair Obscur after watching the first part of your video and I'm obsessed with it now, so thank you for that.

1) A Short Hike - that video was such a joyful experience and I've returned to it more than once. For longer series: Outer Wilds. 2) Most of the horror games unfortunately - You're soothing presence and the intriguing stories helped with the Silent Hill series, but overall I'm just too much of a sensitive scaredy cat! 3) I watch a ton of Drawfee, a silly art channel, and their sister gaming channel Secret Sleepover Society. Both have a more irreverent tone than your videos, but they balance it with a warmth and intrinsic celebration of creativity. 4) Outer Wilds - I've watched a few playthroughs of that one, but yours really made me want to stick around, and I'm very glad I did! 5) Vying for the top spot are Transistor and Chicory: A Colourful Tale. Both games absolutely enraptured me while I was playing them and stuck with me long afterwards.

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? --- Man... Resident Evil 2, Bloodborne, Dark Souls, all very good. The Detroit playthrough is pretty great. I have a hard time saying no to the entirety of the Half-Life saga, which was especially fun to watch. But I think I have to go with Outer Wilds! Even though I'd already played it, the second-hand sense of discovery and your willingness and ability to engage with the world(s) and really think about what it all meant was very satisfying. I like watching you play games because you really pay attention to them, you're clever and funny, you're sometimes unexpectedly good at a game, but most of all because you're very thoughtful and intentional in your approach to and examination of a game. I think that's secretly your greatest strength in this whole thing: being genuinely curious, thoughtful, and engaged. I'm sure it's not always easy, and sure, sometimes you miss things or do something "sub-optimally", but so does literally everyone else who isn't a human spreadsheet. If I wanted perfect gameplay I'd watch a tool-assisted speedrun - this is perfect imperfection. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? --- Discounting ones I haven't watched at all - whether because I eventually either 1) wanted to play or 2) wasn't particularly interested in the game - I guess probably Dark Souls II. I've played it 1.5-2 times, and I just find it to be super disappointing from top to bottom. So it's not that the playthrough or co-op sessions were uninteresting, but the game itself :( They can't all be zingers! What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? --- Besides the more depressing real-world things: - multi-hour World of Warcraft music/ambience, to soak in some of the vibes without ever having to actually play it again - Backrooms explorations, good to fall asleep to - A deranged (complimentary) man playing and ranking every 8-bit North American Nintendo game, also good to fall asleep to (Jeff Gerstmann, for any interested) Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? --- The Bloodborne LP! I don't remember if the algorithm was responsible or I saw it recommended somewhere, but I've been a fan ever since. What are some of your all-time favourite games? --- Final Fantasy VII, Toejam & Earl, Dishonored, Nier: Automata, Lumines, The Witness, Shining Force II, 1000xRESIST... yeah, could go on and on. Video games can be pretty cool. It's fun reading everyone's responses! Please don't feed our data to an Amber LLM!

First of all, I appreciate so much that you want to insolve the community in the process of what the channel will look like, but from my end, I just enjoy watching you play, the curiosity and the calm and joy you radiate. That being said, these are my answers: 1. Hollow Knight, it was the first videos I watched and your curiosity was so contagious, I played it before myself and was so curious how you would react to certain characters, twists, areas etc. It also seems we have a similar style of exploration and wandering when it comes to games so that is why I enjoyed it a lot. A Short Hike is a close second though. 2. I think Outer Wilds, but that is just because I cannot watch first person let's plays (motion sickness). 3. Nature documentaries, let's plays, cool science discoveries and sadly also just news and rants about politics (which usually makes me feel worse afterwards) 4. Your Hollow Knight series, I just got so curios, your energy was so calm and curious, I usually do not watch let's plays but it was so interesting to watch your journey and I enjoyed it so much. :) 5. Hollow Knight, A Short Hike, Hades (1 and 2), Baldur's Gate 3, Claire Obscure: Expedition 33, Castlevania: Symphonie of the Night, God of War series I hope you will feel better soon, I really enjoy your channel and it is so sad to hear that there was so much negative feedback. Lots of love and support!

Oscar

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? — God of War (2018), Last of Us, Hollow Knight. I absolutely love your attention to details. You made me discover more of these games than I thought possible even after having played them myself several times. I really enjoy your more recent playthroughs as well but those hold a special place in my heart. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? — Not any series by itself but the videos where som d*bags online claim that you have fun “wrong” or that you play games not like they would have. You being you and playing the way you do is why I watch you. If I wanted to see an optimised speedrun of the games then there are plenty of other channels. I like the details, discovery and cozy vibes with you. It breaks me comments like that takes away the joy of playing the game for you. Would have loved to see God of War Ragnarok played the way you enjoy it. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? — Many watchalongs / first time reactions for my favourite TV-shows like One Piece, Spy X Family, and Friends. Nice to have something familiar on in the background and see new people discover some incredible stories. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? — As mentioned, your attention to details! You notice and remember things! I really enjoy your appreciation for the craft that is game development as well as hearing you talk about the tech details of art assets in God of War (2018) when you were exploring the environments. Also the general calmness mixed with panicked QTE or challenging bossfights is a nice combo. Also, you are a far better gamer than what you give yourself credit for. What are some of your all-time favourite games? — Hollow Knight, Syberia, The Witcher 3, Resident Evil Village, Ace Attorney. I would love to see a Syberia playthrough, even if it is old, slow and it is most likely going to perform awfully on YouTube. It is such a nice relaxing puzzle game.

What's been your favorite let's play on the channel so far and why? God of war (2018), it is my favorite video game of all time, i enjoying seeing other people have the same if not higher levels of investment. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? i have a small crush on you, so will watch all content. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Reaction to video games and cooking videos Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Your reaction to God of war 2018 What are some of your all-time favorite games? RDR2, God of war (2018), skyrim, Halo, life is strange: True colours, Mass effect (1 - 3) (we do not talk about , mass effect Andromeda) and Stardew Valley,

* Favourite Let's Play: I guess my favourites were Dark Souls Remastered and Hollow Knight. I also really liked Ogo and the Secret Forest, A Short Hike, Thank Goodness You're Here, Dino Crisis and Simpsons Hit & Run. But I liked many other videos as well. * Least Favourite Let's Play: I suppose the horror games were not my thing, so I didn't watch those playthroughs. Final Fantasy 7 Remake as well, because I'm a fan of the original and didn't care much for the remake style. * Other YouTube videos I enjoy watching? Besides depressing news and videos from puppies running in circles, I enjoy most playthroughs from ManyATrueNerd. Besides that, Veritasium, Pitch Meeting, VSauce, Extra History and many more. * How I discovered your channel? I suppose either Hollow Knight or Bloodborne, I'm not sure. But I forgot how many channels I discovered and ignored later. I stayed with your channel because you put the extra effort to edit your videos and make them amusing to watch. Really enjoyed the little things, like the hat entry from Ogo and the Forest, the DS2 entry with Homer getting out of a bush and the green dino costume! :) * All-time favourite games? DS1, Hades, Fallout 4, Subnautica, Mass Effect, Witcher 3, Prey, Skyrim, and many SNES games, because I'm that old.

Answering these late but my partner and I wanted to weigh in! WHAT'S BEEN YOUR FAVORITE LET'S PLAY? Finn: Hollow Knight. You have such a wonderful voice and it makes your videos my favorite thing to put on in the background, especially if I've already seen the video before (we rewatch your playthroughs a LOT) Some other faves have been Bloodborne, the Dark Souls games, God of War and Last of Us Me: Undertale was a game I'd seen talked about for ages but the gameplay never interested me. Not only did I get to also experience it for the first time watching you play, but you voicing all the characters made the experience so much better, and allowed me to step away to do dishes or clean and not miss out on the story! (Also my runner ups were the Valve series, so both Portals and Half-Lifes.. Lives) ...... WHAT WAS A SERIES THAT DIDN'T CLICK? Finn: Some games I'm just not interested in but that's chalked up to personal preference. Others which are open world - like Tears of the Kingdom - I think the focus can get lost. But that's not really a problem since just exploring is fun and those games are meant to be big/meandering Me: Final Fantasy 7, which feels mean to say because we saw how much you loved it. I've just never liked that series is all so I wasn't interested in the story ...... WHAT KIND OF VIDEOS DO YOU FIND YOURSELF WATCHING LATELY? Finn: Both rewatching your Dredge playthrough and your Detroit playthrough! Plus some no commentary long plays of Animal Crossing New Horizons Me: Your Detroit series currently, video game documentaries (mostly from NoClip) and build videos for other games like Destiny and Elden Ring ...... WHAT FIRST MADE YOU CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL? Finn: A post on the Hollow Knight subreddit that mentioned how sincere your playthrough was and just how many secrets you were naturally finding that I had no idea about. I'd also just finished the game and was craving more Me: Finn found you first, but we fell in love with your channel and binged Hollow Knight together at the same time! ...... WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE GAMES? Finn: Hollow Knight, Transistor, Last of Us, Alien Isolation, The Witcher 3, BoTW, Twilight Princess and The Minish Cap Me: Outer Wilds, Last of Us, Alien Isolation, Prey (2017), Control and the Dishonored series

1. Favourite series has been Hollow Knight and Silent Hill 1 and Outlast and Subnautica! They were fun games to watch but you also made a lot of jokes throughout and it seemed like you were having fun too, great vibes! 2. Videos that didn’t click were probably some of the one-off indie games. It’s really interesting to watch a series for a while and see the story unfold and the person learning through the games. 3. I’ve been watching a lot of travel videos, of people cycling bit by bit through an entire continent, very zen and very cool to watch! 4. I first came across your channel when I stumbled upon you playing Hollow Knight and you seemed to enjoy it so much that it was great to watch so I stuck around. 5. Dark Souls, Shadow of the Colossus, Jak and Daxter, Hollow Knight.

1) What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? I like so many of your playthroughs, so it's very hard to pick! I would say probably God of War, seeing your attention to detail, your special kind of humor and also having a very personal connection to the story made it very special in my eyes. But I also enjoyed Silent Hill 1 very much, I never played it before but I loved seeing how much fun you had with it! And I think you also uploaded that to youtube after you had already finished it? For me it seemed like it was good that there were no youtube comments to deter from your enjoyment of the game, and I love seeing that <3 2) On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? There's still many series on your channel that I've never watched because I've never played those games myself and I can enjoy LPs a lot more if I already have a connection and experience with the game! Silent Hill was an exception for some reason, and I didn't really love SH3 as much as the other two you played. I don't know, the cult story didn't really click for me, and it seemed like you needed a break from the series as well. In general, I get very mad when people are mean to you in the comments :( It's so unnecessary and unkind! 3) What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I mostly watch three type of videos on youtube: reaction videos to shows and movies, video essays (on games, shows, movies) and let's plays. 4) Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I remember very vividly: I was struggling with beating Orphan of Kos, and wanted to check out how other people beat them, so one of your last Bloodborne videos popped up! I loved your positive energy, it was such a joy watching that episode. Then I forgot about it again until youtube recommended your newly released Dark Souls Remastered Part 1 episode, and from that point on I was HOOKED. 5) What are some of your all-time favourite games? Very hard question, but those are the ones that came to my mind immediately: Elden Ring (by far my fav of all the Souls games, even though I love all of them. Yes, even DS2.), Silent Hill 2 Remake, Persona 5, Hades, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate 3, Final Fantasy XIV In general, I hope you will keep doing these as long as you find joy in them. That's the most important thing. If something is burning you out, it's not worth it. Take care of yourself, we will be here to support you one way or another <3

FAV LET'S PLAY THUS FAR: Undertale - mainly because Hollow Knight is the one that got me into your channel (more later). I wasn't super familiar with the story myself, so it was really neat experiencing it vicariously or parasocially with you. I appreciate the emotional depth you allow to all the games you play - relative to the genre, of course (Stray ending broke my heart!) - and your experience of Undertale made it all the more meaningful for me. SERIES THAT DIDN'T CLICK: I think it's more of a genre preference, but I wasn't super into Dark Souls 2, though the times you teamed up with Emmalition were really fun. :) * RECENT YOUTUBE VIEWING HABITS: I'm kind of all over the place - U.S. politics, mostly satire and comedy (am American and displeased with current leadership); game development videos, be they post-mortems on older games, or tackling specific aspects of the craft; video essays on various topics. INTRO TO SYMBALILY: your series on Hollow Knight. I had recently completed my initial dive into the realm of Hollow Knight, and was enamored with your delving into it. It was fun and interesting seeing how you reacted, in real-time (ish? I know it was recorded, edited all that, but over the course of the videos). That, and just your vibe and personality - not taking yourself or the game in question too seriously, but seriously enough; opening yourself up to the experience and the story (aforementioned emotional depth on display), and your running commentary. I was struck by how similar I feel it is to my own, except I get too self-conscious whenever I try to stream, so I keep it to myself, but it just felt validating, somehow, and gives me a parasocial feel of kinship. ALL-TIME FAVO GAMES: Hollow Knight; Hades II (Oh, it'd be so cool to see you play this!!); Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link; Chrono Trigger; Super Metroid; Breath of the Wild. And I also want to add, your videos are such a joy and delight. I'm sorry for any and all rough times you're experiencing, and so long as these series bring you joy and happiness, I think it's safe to say we (your fans) all wish nothing but the best for you and we'll support you any way we can. *not sure if you're familiar, but I think it'd be fun to see you do a similar team-up with Emma Thorne - her gaming channel is Little Duck Gaming. You two seem to share a similar vibe, which could work as synergy, or maybe too similar, canceling each other out, lol - chemistry is so weird.

* What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Hard to answer, God of War is certainly near the top (then again it's probably my favorite game to watch others play), I like any game that lets you get distracted by a random asset and talk about animation :) and you were pretty good with the combat. * On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? I don't think I've watched something I absolutely didn't like but I haven't watched everything. Soulslike games are not my cup of tea so I mostly haven't seen those. * What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? It's mostly Let's plays and TV/Movie reactions but I'm trying to sprinkle in some educational content (mostly about zoology and linguistics) * Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? If I recall it was Strawberry Farmer who recommended you * What are some of your all-time favourite games? Baldur's Gate 3, ClObs, Horizon Zero Dawn, Outer Worlds, WarCraft III, Civ 6

Kyle

Favorite Let's Play Hollow knight, watched it after my first playthrough and it was fun watching your hilarious reactions to everything. Other great ones were Darksouls, Silent Hill 2, Ocarina of Time, and The Half-life and Portal games. The Simpsons was especially great to watch because it brang back so many memories from my Childhood and you're always at your best when you're truly enjoying a game you love. Games that didn't click There hasn't been any so far, I just avoid games I haven't played myself yet. What made me first check out your channel Your Ocarina of time playthrough and Star wars Fallen order. Loved hearing your takes on my favorite game of all time(OoT) and listening to you have a similar upbringing when it comes to both series. Hope you can eventually finish Ocarina! Favorite all time games Ocarina of Time, Super Mario World Skyrim, Halo, Symphony of the Night, Hollow Knight, Paper Mario TTYD, Half-life 2, Mass Effect.... too many to name! The reason we love your channel isnt because of any certain game, (although that's what may have drawn us to your channel in the first place) it's because of you! When you are truly enjoying what you're playing and not worrying about what others are thinking of what you're playing or how you're playing it, thats when you're at your best! Shake off that pressure and just be you. Play what you want and have fun! Pick games from your childhood and games you're interested in, not whats "hot" at the moment. Hope you're doing ok in your personal life and wish you all the best. God bless!

* What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Clair Obscur, HL 1 and 2, Stray, Souls 1 and 2. Erm, lots of them. They're all good. * On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? None really. * What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Yours, STORROR, someone sailing around the world on a 50ft boat, stand up comedy shorts, and how to fix the rear window demister on my car! * Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Yeah, the YT algo suggested a vid that said "Game dev plays...". I can't remember which game it was, but it must have been engaging as now I'm here!

atropos148

* What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Detroit Become Human because from the beginning we can see how strong your empathy is. You consistently try to protect human lives, and you are very good at explaining your reasoning. Also, you are the only creator who pointed out that the junkyard scene with Marcus can be interpreted as horror. * On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? I only joined a short while ago, but if i had to pick it would be ClObs E33, but that is because i don't really like the style / genre of that game. I also tried to watch first episode of Subnautica, but it didn't really have the energy of Stray or Detroit. That game is so non-linear it is hard for anyone to make a good Lets Play of it. * What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I went thru my Youtube history to be sure. There are some livestreams from gaming websites i like, lately playing Peak for example. There are also videos about 20 minutes long that are a quick look at the beginning of a brand new game, often an indie release. Also a lot of reviews of all kinds of tech. * Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? It was the first episode of Stray. I never played it, so i wanted to see a LetsPlay, and you immediately seemed very empathetic and curious. I really like that you put a lot of time into finding the memories. After that i went back to watch all of your Half Life videos. * What are some of your all-time favourite games? That is a tough question, the list changes depending on the day :) Top games consistently would be the first Life is Strange, Prey from 2017, Beyond Good and Evil, System Shock 2, Half Life 2, Shenzhen I/O and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Hey, another person who mentioned "Heaven's Vault" as a favourite! I didn't expect to see it pop up on another's entry in this comment thread! :D

- What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Bloodborne, Subnautica, To The Moon, Ori and the Blind Forest, Half-Life 2, Portal - all for similar reasons in that you have a unique perspective as you're playing through the games, and your observations and reactions resonated really well with my gaming experiences for these particular titles. You also really engage in the games you enjoy, and that leads to awesome commentary, deep ruminations, and just a really enjoyable let's play. - What was a series that didn't click for you and why? The horror games, but only due to personal preference - I REALLY don't enjoy jump scares! - What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Recently, a lot of ambient and "lofi" videos to play in the background while working, especially for games that have a great original soundtrack and subsequently have amazing remix/lofi versions. Also a lot of travel videos to help appease constant wanderlust - some of those "walking through the city/forest/park" videos can be super interesting and relaxing! And the usual tech/gaming channels that I've been watching for forever. - Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Your God of War (2018) playthrough! I found your videos when I was trying to rewatch a cutscene, and I ended up continuing to watch because your playthrough was so engaging and your personality is so personable, refreshing, and unique. The YouTube algorithm then suggested some of your other let's plays, and the rest is history. - What are some of your all-time favourite games? The Witcher 3, Shadow of the Colossus, Half-Life 2, Stardew Valley, Bastion, Persona 5: Royal, Mass Effect series, Kingdom Hearts series, Control Lastly - thank you for being you! I can't imagine what it's like to be a let's play creator with the entire internet free to critique your every choice (and all the editing?!), but I'll echo what a lot of others have already said (especially since I'm late to answer, lol) - we were all drawn to your channel for so many reasons, and I think playing some of these games, especially the divisive ones with large followings (thinking of DS2 or Detroit: Become Human), will always attract those who want to ruin the fun in some way. That said, I appreciate you keeping the haters at bay and trying to stay true to what video games should be!

-What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Thank Goodness You're Here!, just pure joy and any of the Valve games. Fun to see a different take and thoughts on games I've played and even discover things I missed myself. Like the somewhat uncut videos and gently play-style, taken your time to explore and analyze the situation. -On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Watch most videos of games I have played myself, so games that don't click with me to watch is genre as open-world, soulslike, hack 'n slash. Except for Thank Goodness You're Here!, really funny game by the way! -What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Mostly tech/news videos about computers or games, movie reactions, comedy channels. -Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Alien Isolation, then a big jump later to Outlast. After that most play-throughs videos. -What are some of your all-time favourite games? All Valve games, Mass Effect series, Dishonored series, Batman series, Witcher series, CP 2077, Control, Deus Ex series, The Longest Journey series, Max Payne, Last of Us series, Death Stranding, Soma, Gris, A lot of old and new point 'n click games and walking simulators, indie games.

My favourites: Bloodborne and God of War For a start, I prefer watching games I already completed. And I really enjoy your approach to gaming. Not rushing through or trying to cheese everything but absorbing every little detail and appreciating it. Didn‘t click: Don‘t know really, I didn‘t watch everything too. But if I have to name something then probably Tears of the Kingdom - which is to blame to this sort of game. It is about experimenting and that is entertaining to do but not so much to watch. Watching Lately: I don‘t spend a lot of time on YT and am very selective therefore. First check in: Dark Souls, since I was playing it around that time and YT recommended it. But what made me stay and support was your personality. So rather than trying to figure out what others may want you to do, you should stay true to yourself and do what makes you happy. All-time favourites: Sekiro, Elden Ring, God of War, Life is Strange, Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher 3, Arkham Trilogy

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? I would say Hollow knight as it was such a thoughtful playthrough that really tried to understand the lore and what might be happening as well as finding all the little hidden gems that make it such a special game! On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Not much springs to mind, though I mnot so big on GOW/ Dark Souls type games generally Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? It was Hollow Knight! What are some of your all-time favourite games? Deus Ex, Cyberpunk 2077, Borderlands, Hollow Knight, Mass Effect

What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Hollow Knight, followed closely by Toby Fox's games! The biggest part of why they work for me (although this is true of your other let's play - Stray is a really great recent example) is the way you approach the games and the way you commentate not just on the game but on your thoughts as you play it. On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Horror games aren't really my thing, so although I watched your Silent Hill 3 series, it didn't really work for me. What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Lots of let's plays (your channel and BLG are my favourite right now), but I'm also a fan of music, science and maths ones. Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? Hollow Knight (but I very quickly watched quite a significant part of your history too :) It was just what I needed after completing it myself and not being ready to let the world go yet. What are some of your all-time favourite games? Hollow Knight, Sunless Sea (ok maybe I like some horror games I guess?), Undertale/Deltarune, Fez, Return of the Obra Dinn. Waking Mars was surprisingly fun too (I don't always click with that kind of game!)

I first visited your channel when you did the playthrough of Last of Us. I have followed most of your playthroughs since then. I would say that I enjoyed them all, except Dark Sould is not my "jam". My favourite "playthrough" are the ones you did with Emma because you both radiated pure joy and silliness, and just sometimes it was just chaos which made me laugh even more. I would love to see more of this. A late happy birthday :-)

Sorry I'm not very versatile in English, so I'll give a straightforward answer. Favourites let's play: Bloodborne and Hollow Knight. I also enjoy Half Life 2 and Portal a lot. Didn‘t click: Dark Souls 2. Same as you, lol Watching Lately: Depend on my mood, but I watch mostly science, tech, film essays and cooking channels. I have a couple of regulars that I'm also a Patreon, like RedLetterMedia, Jenny Nicholson and I Did a Thing (and Symbalily of course). First check in: Bloodborne All-time favourites: Half Life 2, BloodBorne, Dark Souls, Ghost of Tsushima, Breath of the Wild, among others that I'm forgetting right now.

My favorite let's play is probably The Outer Wilds or Hallow Knight. With Hallow Knight, I had tried to play it a few times before and kept getting stuck. Being able to watch the playthrough allowed me to see the whole game and advance in it. Hallow Knight was just an enjoyable series to watch, and your channel has helped me see other game playthroughs that I could not play or find the time to play, like TLOU and Detroit. The series that did not click for me was Resident Evil, mostly because I am not into horror games. Most of the YouTube videos lately have been let’s play of Clair Obscure, and videogame news podcasts. What first made me check out your channel was The Outer Wilds. It had been a few years since I had played it and wanted to experience it again. I was also glad you did the DLC of Outer Wilds since I had not gotten the chance to play that part of the game. I enjoy your style, and when you do the more laid back games it is easy to have on and do work and school projects. My all-time favorite games are Shenmue I, Halo, Mass Effect, Outer Wilds, and Clair Obscure.

Hollow Knight, Bloodborne, The Last of Us. I actually discovered the channel through Bloodborne, when I was playing it in early 2022.

With gaming I mostly watch streams of games I like. That’s how I found your channel, with you playing Clair Obscur. You were on a roll, even though you originally missed the trashcan-man etc. Sensitivity on “max”, like a highly enjoyable, more subtle, direct streaming version of SofieReacts (edit: spelling). I loved that. You are a great streamer. The last 5 years I’ve enjoyed games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Hogwarts Legacy, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (mainly flying through this awesome world), Still Wakes The Deep, Astrobot, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, and Clear Obscur. I loved all of those. I couldn’t tell if you played Hogwarts Legacy, but “The Great Circle” reminded me a lot of that one: created with lots of love for the franchise. Hope you are getting yourself :) and your pc to work soon. All the best!

-What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Hollow Knight, Bloodborne, and currently Clair Obscur. And as a complete outlier, Silent Hill 1 and 2, despite not liking horror games at all. -On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? Probably God of War, but that's mostly because the game is not doing it for me. I often gravitate towards the videos of yours of games I already know and like. -What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? I tend to bounce around a lot. Recently it's been randomizer speedruns and various Dropout content. -Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? It was Bloodborne, and I stayed because you are exceptionally observant and have a very respectful way to interact with games, if that makes any sense. You approach the games you play with a sincerity and attention that is kind of inspiring. If I were a game developer, you would be the type of player I would want to play my game, because you treat the game you are playing as important and deserving of your time. It's very infectious as a watcher. -What are some of your all-time favorite games? Bloodborne, Fallout: New Vegas, Kingdom Hearts 2, Ghost Trick, XCOM 2, Metroid Prime.

Hi! I’m pretty new here, i’ve discovered you with your Clair Obscur vidéos. The game really marked me and since i have no one irl to share it with i try to watch people online that resonate with it. That’s the only content from you that I’ve watch (for now) so i can’t answer some of your questions. When i watch YouTube it’s mostly for gaming/movie news and deep analysis videos. I’m having a harder time watching « regular » content or let’s plays because I’m tired of people overacting, i don’t feel anything real, more and more are just on autopilot doing the same content over and over again. When i watch you (from the little I’ve seen) you feel genuine and invested, and just yourself. That’s why I’m here. Finally some of my favorite games: Clair Obscur (but the time will tell me how much of it will stay with me) /Chrono Trigger/ Psychaunots/ Mirror’s Edge/ most Zelda games (my favorite being Wind Waker)/ Cyberpunk2077/ Shadow of the Collossus/ Symphonie of the night/ Bioshock series/ Nier series/ Metal Gear series/ Final Fantasy series/ and many more actually. Sorry for the long message and I’m looking forward for what comes next !

so, i'm quite late, but i thought i'd answer! my fave series of you are either hollow knight or bloodborne, for sure. special mention to to the moon, which isn't particularly long, but it was a sweet game and, as an adhd girl, i related so much to so many of your thoughts. i have a suspicion that expedition 33 could also be a fave, but since i haven't played yet, i'm waiting for a bit! on the other side, i didn't love detroit become human, but that's just because i don't vibe with the game much. same with the last of us actually! (side note: i'm sorry you felt that way about dark souls 2. i get it, but i just thought i'd let you know i loved it! i'm not usually a fan of co-op playthroughs, but you two got me so interested in ds2, and i think i appreciated it so much more! i hope you return to souls game at some point (i think ds3 has the strongest artistic direction of the three, and elden ring, while long, is an outstanding game. even if it's just for your own enjoyment and off camera, you should give them a chance, and play them the way /you/ want them to play!). third question: i find myself watching a lot of monthly faves (it makes me appreciate my everyday objects more), long blender tutorials and portfolio reviews, speedruns and long gameplay videos. i first checked out your channel because of hollow knight i believe! and then i saw your bloodborne playthrough (a game i was playing at that moment) and i was hooked! as a fellow gamedev, i found the way your brain works when interacting to games very similar to mine (except you're better at the games themselves lol) and i loved it! and my favourite games are bloodborne, ico, silent hill 2 (1998) and alan wake 2. silksong maybe, but i need to let my thoughts simmer for a bit! side note: i think you'd love fumito ueda's games, and i think you should definitely check them out, even if it's off camera! ico especially, but shadow of the colossus too, and even the last guardian. i love the channel, love your playthroughs, and find your personality really fun and comforting (maybe not the best word, but i don't know enough english to pick a better one!). keep doing your own thing, and the right people will stay. i know i will! <3 sorry for this monster of an answer!

Sorry for being so late but I never got around to taking the time to write this down! → What's been your favourite let's play on the channel so far and why? Dark Souls! Loved it, watched it multiple times. Your sense of observation, watching you progression and becoming better at the game was so interesting. I also personally love the franchise and you're first person whose playthrough I've watched! Close second would be Detroit. → On the other side, what was a series that didn't click for you and why? FF7 Remake I think. This type of game I prefer playing it myself instead of watching someone play it. I still watched it afterwards! 😉 → What kind of YouTube videos do you find yourself watching lately? Your videos among others! Videogames most of the time. Also, I like to watch Youtube VODs of my favourite Twitch streamers from time to time, although I don't watch streams. → Do you remember what first made you check out my channel? I'm not entirely sure but I believe it was Outer Wilds. I was looking for playthroughs and yours hit the mark! You seemed to have so much fun playing it. → What are some of your all-time favourite games? Here's my list: - Final Fantasy X - Celeste - Hollow Knight - Resident Evil - Dark Souls - Outer Wilds I really appreciate how long you’ve been creating and how consistent you’ve stayed. What’s always stood out to me is how frank, emotional, and thoughtful you are. It’s what makes watching you so easy and fun. Thanks for sticking with it and sharing so much of yourself with us.
