Asia back then you could literally smoke anywhere except in an elevator. you could even smoke in hospitals. Airplanes too !!! Im not lying. it wasnt until like 1988-93 that the smoking bans started happening gradually.

Forgot to mention, Devito told a story of when filming this, he stuffed marijuana into one of Arnold's cigars that he smoked before shooting. Arnold couldn't remember his lines and kept messing up. Devito was laughing at him behind the camera while the director couldn't understand what was wrong with Arnold. Devito later said that Arnold tried to get back at him by doing the same thing but Devito knew right away and thanked him for the marijuana. It was a funny interview.

This movie took lots of liberties with scientific accuracy, but still a very touching one. Not long after this movie, Danny DeVito played the long lost half-brother of Homer Simpson, named Herb, in Season 2 of The Simpsons. If you'd like to see another quirky sci-fi comedy movie featuring Arnie and DeVito, check out Junior (1994).

I forgot how fun this movie was. Reminds me of early teens, the smell of the hot sidewalk, popcorn wafting through the crowd. Then buying a ticket and walk into AC bliss and having a great time for about 4 hours. The whole experience.
