ALYSSA RIVERA

AWESOME!!!!! Another jumpscare movie 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

David Croft-Ogawa

Ooooooh, I’m so excited you watched this! I can’t wait to see how y’all react to the snot bubble from the woman’s nose… 😂

Eamonn Locke

Nice! I watched this in theaters with some friends when I was in High School. The hype of it being actual found footage was real at the time. I love it for the nostalgia factor alone.

Mezz015

Hoping the next movie will be Child’s Play aka Chucky

Joshua Coe

Crossing my fingers for Shutter Island soon (I know it's not horror, but it's still quite a dark movie).

Rebecca Karsner

OMG this movie traumatized me when I first saw it. I couldn't even go camping when I was in Girl Scouts because this movie scared me so bad. I'm gonna watch this tonight in the dark lol. I think I can handle it now. I'm going to the premiere of Terrifier 3 tonight!!! Wish me luck everybody!! 🙏 🤣🤣

Abby

Omg! 😳

Eamonn Locke

Have fun! It’s crazy to see Art transform from a short film to “All Hallows Eve” to now a massive franchise.

Rebecca Karsner

Considering the first Terrifier had a budget of 60,000.. yea I'd say that they succeeded!! 😁

Eamonn Locke

They sure did! Damien Leone accomplished his life dream on such a small budget. You love to see it!

Eamonn Locke

Let us know your thoughts after! I'm glad we have another Christmas horror movie! Can't escape the Halloween season and that's how it should be!

JL Green

Being a Maryland resident I couldn't believe how much the public wanted to believe this was so called "real" found film footage 😳

Stacey

It's an amazing movie! Would love to see their reaction.

Stacey

This came out when I was in undergrad and one of my odd jobs to make ends meet was tutoring high school students. One of the parents worked for a film distribution company and got sneak peek tickets for his son and asked me to take him. Keep in mind, social media didn't really exist and having a home computer with internet was expensive. No cell phones to look things up on. The previews and marketing for it was 100% found footage documentary. We were excited because there was nothing else like it before. It scared the bejeezus out of me! And I rarely get spooked. Afterwards, the parents told us it wasn't real... just a cheaply made scary movie with brilliant marketing. It was fun to hear people talk about it, because they typically didn't the ruin the fun by revealing it wasn't real found footage. Good times!

Stacey

🤣🤣🤣 Their reaction did not disappoint.

Nicole

Man I remember seeing this in the movie theater we all thought it was real 🤣

Rebecca Karsner

Omg yes!! The marketing team for this movie did their thing!! Because we all believed it was real!! I thought it was real until I saw the cast at an MTV awards event.. and then eventually saw the actress who plays Heather on an episode if It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia lolol

Elizabeth DeMerie

You guys are totally making my overworked ass ecmxcited for Halloween again!!! Great line up!

Stacey

Yes we did. 🤣 It was great.

Abby

lol 😂 I CANT deal with Asia covering her face Anticipating a jump scare the Whole Movie… when there were Literally No Jump Scares hahahaha poor girl! Suffering just for us!

David Croft-Ogawa

Do you have a security blanket of your own like Miss Asia?

Amber

You guys should watch 13 GHOST

Darth Brooks

Seen this in theaters it's the birth of found footage and it was so hyped to be the real deal back then. I can already see Asia hiding about 85% of the movie lol. I can't wait for this tonight have fun everyone✌❤ fam!

Eamonn Locke

With a budget of around $40-$60,000 and worldwide gross of around $250 million, the marketing team definitely did their job. The real horror story is how the creators got screwed financially as they saw very little from the profits of this film. I've read the same about the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Lesson is to always hire a lawyer. They were young and didn't know any better and that's a shame.

Rebecca Karsner

No but I have my Asia and BJ hoodie I'll be using to cover my face lmao 🤣

Rebecca Karsner

Oh Asia will never step foot in the woods again after this.. lmao!! Can't wait to watch later! 😁

Jesse McAdams

It was the witch using Josh's voice to lure them in. She also kept them there by making them go in circles. The ones after this are garbage and are just leeching off the name of this movie. Not even close to the same thing.

Michele G

I saw this in the theaters !! It was SOOOOO scary bc this was the first time we had ever seen a movie like this from the POV of the characters. It was advertised as REAL found footage and a true story. The internet was just a baby at that time and they had all this cool stuff on the Blair witch website about the footage. I was sitting there thinking this is real life !! No one had ever made a movie like this. I was scared shitless! Then a week later we saw them on Dave Letterman and I felt so stupid ! 😂😂😂 but this movie is a classic and so good!!!!!

Stacey

💯 A simple idea with basic camera equipment and a brilliant marketing plan. Such a smart movie.

Stacey

Agree, it was a huge risk that it could be a complete flop. It's 100% suspense with no concluding answers or monster reveal, with most of the acting being improved. The company that bought the film for $1m from the filmmakers came up with the marketing, which is 💯 the reason why so many people went to see it. They took a page out of Hitchcock's playbook for sure. Big risk = big reward in this case. The thing that has always bothered me is that I believe the actors were paid a flat fee, no residuals... and even though that was the agreement they made with the filmmakers, some sort of "thank you" bonus from the company that bought it would've been appropriate.

Stacey

Yes, I had to go to the library to look at the website. It 💯 made you believe it was real. There were even "official" Missing posters distributed with their photos on it. Found a flyer on my car in the movie theater parking lot.

LynnC

Just watching now and already know we're not going to see Asia's face for about 80% of the movie. This one sticks with you.

Stacey

To help explain the ending... remember at the beginning when they interviewed the guy who said that a murderer once lived in the woods, and he would abduct children in pairs, killing one child while making the other stand in the corner. 😉 Possessed by the Blair Witch? In theory this movie shouldn't work since there's no real conclusion or answers, yet it is 💯 effective in building suspense and tapping into common human fears. To do it as a documentary style of found footage was very smart. The viewers are much more forgiving about what they don't see.

Casey Salley

Awesome movie! Still hoping you can watch Beetlejuice though

Deborah Lewis

We lived in MA couple years...omg the ghost tours in Plymouth are super scary, my husband acted tough till we were in graveyard at midnight, he was scared 💩less🤣🤣

Elizabeth DeMerie

ASIA you look amazing in your pumpkin onesie! I have a dinosaur onesie myself lol we should have a live onesie night!!!!

Eamonn Locke

That's true and I see your point. The companies goal was to make a profit and they did. I can see it from both perspectives. Artisan did purchase and market it, so it was essentially their film after that the initial sale. Them being young, a few hundred thousand dollars probably seemed like they hit the jackpot and I guess they kind of did. They weren't thinking long term and residuals at the time. A thank you bonus would definitely seem appropriate for sure. In the end, you could sum it up to a bad business deal for the creator's, but at the same time, they did make a profit. I guess it was just business as usual. Some will win and some will lose.

Karim

I like how Mike tries to be the voice of reason after what he did to the map. I would’ve punched him in his face MULTIPLE times.

Eamonn Locke

Now I have Journey stuck in my head lol

Y'Manni

Y’all faces at the end was priceless! Lol. It made the movie scarier that you never got to see the witch. So you were anticipating it the whole movie.

Robert Durant

You have to go back to 1999 to get a real sense of this movie. This became the first viral movie like it exploded into the world and scared the living crap out of people. The marketing for this movie really sold the terror of it because many people believed the found footage was real so people started to believe that the Blair Witch was real. A lot of people hate it but nobody can deny the impact this little movie had on the world of cinema and effectively gave birth to the found footage subgenre. A sequel was released a year later to treat the first movie as if it was really real but it was a confusing mess.

Nicole

Yes I miss how it was being in school and how much hype was on these movies, like Scream! Ppl coming to class with Ghostface masks, pranking calls with the voice, thinking Blair Witch was true video found...lol take me back

Tek

Actually, Ruggero Deodato gave birth to the found footage genre with "Cannibal Holocaust" released in 1980, a film so controversial it was banned in several countries. Another movie that predates Blair Witch is "The Last Broadcast" (1998). But Blair Witch indeed became the more popular film.

Darth Brooks

Never seen Cannibal Holocaust and haven't heard of the other. I'll have to see if I can find them somewhere and check them out. Guess I should say birth of modern day found footage lol

Tek

Both are streaming on Amazon. Be warned though, Cannibal Holocaust is very disturbing...some things you can never unsee 😳

☆C~H~A~N~D~L~E~R☆

Loved this reaction! The marketing for this was crazy back then.. to the point where the actors had to go into hiding before the release to make it seem real. And how they made the movie is also wild. Hope you guys do the sequel. It goes hard! Book of Shadows Blair Witch 2 (its not all shot on a handheld)

Rebecca Karsner

Terrifier 3 was nasty, funny and everything I thought it would be. I loved it.. idk what that says about me?? Lmao 🤣

Dan Gershgol

Still good after all this time. Don't worry it's just a movie.

GenericStatue

Lol cackling is a type of laughter, not crunching of leaves 🤣

asiaandbj

Omg!! Elizabeth, I love me a cute onesie! They are my favs especially around this time of year!

Dana

Saw this in the theater when it came out and walked out laughing at how bad it was at the end. However other people were shaking and crying and trying to not have anxiety attacks which made things funnier at the time. I haven't been interested in this film since BUT I'm going to rewatch it with Asia & BJ just to see the reaction.

Rebecca Karsner

Just started watching!! OMG Asia the pumpkin onesie is amazing!! I love it!! ❤️

Todd Rush

One of my favorite movies in the world, and the best reaction ever.

Eamonn Locke

Haha It just says you have great taste in movies! Thanks! Can't wait to see it!

Kenny

Loved the reaction (: Another horror movie in the same genre "found footage" is REC, a spanish movie from 2007, excellent one that I highly recommend to react (:

Michele G

😂😂 that is wild !!!!! I had an office job at the time where I had a lot of free time and I spent like 2 days researching this stuff. I even got my boss involved. It was bananas !! I lived across the street from a wooded lot and I was scared to go outside for like a week ! 😂

Kyndu

A Cloverfield feel.

Michele G

I was one of those people who freaked out 😂😂 I mean I wasn’t shaking and crying but this movie scared the shit out of me. Probably because I spent so much time reading all the Blair witch stuff on the internet before it was released and went in thinking this is a true real life story. I’m a little gullible and they had me convinced. And the fact nothing like this had ever been done before. I was scared for like a week until I saw them on Letterman 😂 🤦🏼‍♀️

Bmac Tattoo

I haven't seen this since it came out in the theatre. I forgot how lame the ending is!!!!!! The handprints were the size of little kids it seems. They heard cackling? Was Kamala in the woods? :D

Casey Salley

I remember when they released the trailer for this movie. People wanted to know if it was for real. It had everybody freaked out, including me! BJ, I was also a sophomore in high school when this was released, so you’re not alone showing your age.

Mister Lou

I love this movie and your reactions to it was spot on! and I'm glad you let that dramatic moment breath and didn't just lose it to the Scary Movie parody that's forever stuck in our heads after seeing. there's a few sequels to this, I guess. I haven't seen any until 2016. I thought it was a reboot, but the more I watched it, I think it makes for a great part 2 to this movie. Blair Witch (2016) I highly recommend.

Dana

Michele, I feel you. We were so hyped about this film. 5 of us went. The issue with the film was the camera work which was so shaky my boyfriend had a hard time watching (he was a camera guy so it was really bad for him) and Heather's voice! The second she started on this rewatch I remembered why I couldn't stand this film. But the premise was good. We felt like it had great potential but let us down.

Stacey

I checked back today to see the verdict on Terrifier 3. 😉 The first one reminded me so much of my favorite old school horror from the 80s, a bit of gore with some camp.

Rebecca Karsner

It's fun watching with an audience lol. I don't necessarily love all the gore but there's some about Art the Clown that scares me so much but also makes me laugh lol... David Howard Thorton who plays Art is really good at his craft. The way he moves and everything is terrifying!

Dan Gonya

I have mixed feelings about this movie. It was well done and was one of the first, if not THE first of this type of found footage horror movie. On one hand it was brilliantly done, and it was done without much of a budget. It led to movies like Paranormal Activity. On the other hand though, it also gave rise to all the rest of the very cheaply made, crappy, found footage style movies. So, in conclusion, I like this for what it is, but I don't necessarily care for all of what came to follow.

Ana

Speaking of witches... you guys should do Suspiria (1977) *and* the 2018 remake. You can't watch the remake without watching the original first. The remake is good because it's different, it doesn't try to be the old Suspiria but is successful and incredibly creepy. So I like both even though they are very different. Jessica Harper, the star of the original (she played Susie Bannion) does make a cameo. And Tilda Swinton was amazing in the Suspiria remake. She actually plays TWO characters, but you won't recognize her second identity. Bet you won't! And... Dakota Johnson plays Susie in the remake. If you're wondering about the title.... Suspiria is from the Latin suspirium, meaning sigh or breath. In the world of Suspiria, there are three mothers: Mother of Sighs, Mother of Tears and Mother of Darkness. You don't need to know all that to enjoy the movies though.

Dan Gonya

I remember an episode of Mythbusters where they tried walking straight through the woods with no compass, and both of them managed to walk in one big circle. Apparently humans while walking without an actual heading will walk favoring left or right, depending on your dominate side...I think. Case and point, Asia said it, don't wander into the woods without a damn compass. 😂

Dan Gonya

Oh, they do have a compass...it's the witch then 😂

Saints_Madness

lol, a lot of people got motion sickess with this film, some walked out. I saw this in theaters as well. If you go camping, you need a native on your team to guide you and keep you safe. I use to navigate in the woods at night and could barely see but never scared. I could hear heavy foot steps running around me but elk are known in this area. Rememeber God says, "Fear not, for I am with thee." And one thing about this movie they did some research on was craving curtain foods, apparently that's one of the first signs of starvation. Good reaction video upload. No zombie films yet?

Jerry

I remember when this movie first came out. Saw it in the theater. Spooky as shit. As far real life, I'm lost in the woods, what do I do? You find a stream and you follow it down, as in the water moving towards the sea. You will eventually find some kind of a human settlement eventually.

Eamonn Locke

Just curious to get your opinion on how you think they handled the backstory of Art. Were you satisfied with the answers you were given, at least for now? I know Damien Leone said he was going back to the first film this time. I'll be seeing next weekend anyway, so if you can't without going into full details, I get it lol

Rebecca Karsner

I think they still left us with questions.. but it's set up for another movie. Which they already publicly announced a few weeks ago that Terrifier 4 is in the works. I think we will get more answers in the next. But it gave us some backstory on Art and another person I obviously cant say. But I hope you enjoy it! Hope your with a decent size audience!! 😁

Eamonn Locke

That's good to hear. It's always good to leave some things for the imagination or up to interpretation. I think I know who you're talking about and I wouldn't be surprised because we were all left wondering in Terrifier 2. That's awesome, thanks! Where I am, I'm expecting a decent audience 😊

Rebecca Karsner

Awesome!! And Art was hilarious in this. I laughed so much 🤣

Eamonn Locke

😂 David Howard Thornton is perfect for the role of Art! He conveys so much emotion with his facial expressions and mannerisms. He's terrifyingly funny!

Rebecca Karsner

💯 agree!! Let me know what you thought of it after you've watched it!! 😁

Pink Martini AZ

Yasss!!! So glad you did this one. I saw this in the theatres and the marketing was brilliant!! This flick was made on a tiny budget and limited release. Word got out and it went viral so they distributed in more theatres and made a TON of money. The marketing with the trailers and the website tricked everyone to thinking or wondering if it was all real. I seem to recall they even had some documentary about the documentary so it tricked you even more. Yes lots of parodies and even Scooby Doo jumped on the Blair Witch craze. It was too cute. Don’t bother with any of the sequels or remakes. They don’t come close and this one is just perfect on its own. Happy October and loved the Jammie’s Asia.

Raider Ron

I know I mentioned this movie before called Suspiria. Which is about witches.

ali schmidt

Well, he could have said Hey I am Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater!!! Hahahhah ;)

ali schmidt

So here is what I know about this movie!! This movie was marketed by "Artisan entertainment", which later became Fox which later became Lions Gate.....Anyway, my best friend was the Marketing director at Artisan at the time and she woud send me the movies on VHS after they were made....She told me this movie was coming out and I had to see it...well at that time I was pregnant with my first baby....She was around 25 and i was 29 and at the time had moved from Richmond VA to LA so I had the inside on all the major Hollywood releases. But because we were like sisters, she knew I hated scary movies....and all she said was when this comes out I have to see it!! I knew about the making of the movie etc...but she never let me in on the big secret.....and when I saw this, I was absolutely in shock and terrified ....and it wasn't until after I saw it she told me the truth about this movie!! But I will wait cause I'm not revealing anyting before someone else reveals it ....I will wait!! But this movie was all anyone was talking about!!!! and I was so upset that she made me see this....cause this damn movie scared the Bgeesus out of me!!!! LOL ENJOY THOUGH!!!! iT STILL CREEPS ME OUT!!! THANKS FOR YALLS GREAT REACTIONS AND LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU BOTH!!! XOXOOX

The_Paige_Master

This movie is overrated 💅🏽 #sorrynotsorry

Dan Gonya

I actually enjoyed Book of Shadows. It's nothing stellar, but I think the creepy factor was way amped up in that one.

Venner

It's nice watching these analog horror flicks that doesn't feel like it has to pay heed to social propriety and talk about muh trauma or whatever passes for "depth" . I like that sweaty lost in no-man's land feeling this has down to the screaming into the void exhausted terror at the end. Reminds me of Texas chainsaw but still superior to its multiplex found footage progeny.

JBGirlNextDoor

I was in college when this came out it definitely had everybody wondering if it was real at the time I live in Maryland so it was a local thing too. I don't think I've watched it since then. Ageing is only for the lucky ✨

Anthony Turner

I still remember when this movie came out. I know ppl were talking about it on internet, back when Internet wasn't as accessible as it is now, unless you had a computer. Ppl really thought it was real. The promotion imo for it was brilliant. Heck I thought it was real, until I saw the cast on the MTV MOVIE AWARDS 😂😂😂😂

Eamonn Locke

Well... that was Awesome! lol It was funny, disgusting and depraved! It was everything I had hoped it would be! What is wrong with us?

Rebecca Karsner

Lmao I asked myself the same thing when I saw it was the number 1 movie in America. I was like damnn.. are we all that effed up?? Lmao!! Glad you enjoyed it! Definitely setting up something big for the next one!

Eamonn Locke

Lmao exactly, I think we are all a little sick, especially these days. Whatever the reason, I'm all for it! It does beg the question of can we still be shocked?

Rebecca Karsner

We are all just products of our environments. We live in a sick world, run by sick people. Can't break the cycle! 🫤

Eamonn Locke

Very true. I’m more comfortable with the way things are or can be interpreted rather than living in a complete fallacy, like Pleasantville. Maybe it’s like you said, what we’re used to.

Eamonn Locke

I noticed the bait you left under Evil Dead Rise. I hope they take it!

Rebecca Karsner

Lol!! I genuinely was not trying to bait them... I just don't honestly know if they could handle it 🤣🤣

Eamonn Locke

MmmHmm I totally don't believe you lol I do commend you though! 🤣

Eamonn Locke

I think they're ready. Asia and BJ were laughing after EDR and H1K C's. It's time!

Bonnie Smith

This was such a fun one to watch along you two. And by the amount of comments, others must agree! haha The acting in this one was soooo good. I feel like everyone remembers when this one came out. And yes, the snot while she was filming was definitely commented on back then. and we thought it was gross and funny but I suppose happens after crying so much LOL I'm already sad October is almost over!

Eamonn Locke

I honestly think we'll get a Terrifier reaction this season. Idk, I just have a feeling. Do you have that feeling?

Rebecca Karsner

That would be awesome! I'm also hoping for Late Night with the Devil. I thought that was pretty good. 😁

Eamonn Locke

Late Night with the Devil would be icing on the cake. Crazy, when I watched The Dark Knight, I remembered the psych patient (David Dastmalchian) He wasn't a main character, but he left an impression.

Rebecca Karsner

Yes! And I loved him as the Polka Dot man in Suicide Squad!

Eamonn Locke

Yes! He nailed that role. You certainly know your character actors❤️

Eamonn Locke

I'm definitely going to be on the look out for his career, going forward.

Rio Mendoza

Just finished this reaction and it was so much fun. I love that you never really knew if it was real or not. Thats what makes the film so good. Thanks guys this was awesome

Brad Beach

I saw this in theaters when it first came out! It was the first movie of it's kind, and it was terrifying! Thought it was 100% real, and nearly walked out of the theater. My hand was sore from squeezing my girlfriends hand. Got home and was looking behind the shower curtains and doors! Then saw the girl in a Steak and Shake commercial like a week later....😂😂

Justin Noel

#noonecaresaboutyouropinion

The_Paige_Master

😂 you cared enough to write that 💁🏽‍♀️

ALONE_IN_THE_DARKNESS1107

I live in northwestern Pennsylvania we hike out into the middle of nowhere and camp since we were teens we winter camp for a long weekend every winter in the snow. The woods always make noise. Luv ur videos 💜 💙

Brennen

Iconic, for marketing when it came out. The missing people posters and stuff on tv. It was crazy😂
