Outbreak (1995)

Comments

Jason Cooper

Oh yeah.... This a good one 👌🏾👍🏾

Edgar Gonzalez

Good movie! Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey and Cuba Gooding Jr. A dangerous airborne virus threatens civilization in this Action/Thriller. I swear, every 90's movie hits me with such nostalgia, I feel like a kid again. I was born in 1988, and boy do I feel old 😆

Annie Bonz

For the love of Pete, Mike, Jesus and Morgan Freeman! One of my favorite movies!! I was sitting here hunting something good to watch. Y'all are life savers, always the GOAT'S <3

Abel Salas Jr

Depending on what the test being done is there are different types of vials. Some vials have an anticoagulant in it because the test requires whole blood and that additive keeps the blood from clotting in the vial. Other vials have a gel in them that allows it to be put into the centerfuge and when spun separates the blood cells from the serum and the test is done on the serum. And they may need multiple vials because they need a certain amout of serum to do the tests.

Oh wow! Such great movies tonight! Thank you!!

This movie hits differently since Covid! Great choice!

Ugh when I tell yall I screamed when this posted. I’ve been waiting for this. Love this movie. Not BJ sneezing…lmao. Asia your reaction to that was beyond priceless!!!! The look on your face after BJ sneezed will live rent free in my head for life. Hehe. Yall think this was bad…check out Contagion. Sooooo crazy. It’s got Kate Winslet in it. Great cast and also another “medical disaster” film. Plus when you were rolling the credits another disaster movie was “Daylight” with Sylvester Stallone. Fantastic movie as well. Dustin Hoffman was also in “Hook” with Robin Williams. It will make you feel better after watching this. Hehe. Thanks for a perfect Sunday night. The monkey Betsy was the host and basically infected with both strains but also had both cures. When she got to the pet store it had not mutated yet so E-1101 worked on the monkey who ate the banana. Donald Sutherland played president Snow in Hunger Games. Another role he was the villain. Fabulous reaction. Love yall.

Tray-T

The monkey that got better was sick from the original strain the first guy had which was the contact strain. That's why the E-1101 worked. It later mutated and became airborne in the other contact victims.

Lynn

Asia, they figured out the host monkey was carrying both virus strains during whiteboard scene before they went to the pet store and that's why the new serum from host worked. I love this movie! Watched so much as a kid.

asiaandbj

I’ve always wondered about this! Perfect break down! Ty!!

asiaandbj

This is NOT a movie to start sneezing on watching with someone sitting right next to you! 😆😆

asiaandbj

Ohhhh!!! That’s right!! Hunger Games!! That’s where I remember him!

asiaandbj

Ohhh!!! So when they caught the host was he the one who had both strains or the mutated strand?

asiaandbj

Ohhh!!! Ok so he was carrying both strains!!!

Heather C.

BJ had some diabolical timing on that. One of the best things I’ve ever seen. Plus you jumped not even like 5 minutes in. Like I’ve always said always a priceless reaction when you say “Damn…they ain’t even wait 5 minutes!” Let’s me know it’s going to be an epic reaction.

asiaandbj

That makes so much sense. I think that’s where I might have gotten confused. But this clarifies everything! Ty

Thia

1974 here, thanks for making ME feel old! 🤣

Karim

Not BJ sneezing all over the place 😆😆😆

Rashad Walker

It wasn't a misfire they purposely dropped the bomb over water

The 90s had the best films yall. Another film both of u should check out is executive decision (1996)

Abel Salas Jr

To see Donald Sutherland in a more heroic light catch Invasion of the Body Snatchers & The Dirty Dozen. His son Keifer was on the Fox show 24 for multiple seasons (great show, might want to watch it for the channel) and more recently the ABC series Designated Survivor. But he continues to work steadily in both film and TV. I'd also like to make a pitch for a couple of Patrick Dempsey movies Can't Buy Me Love and Loverboy, both very funny romantic comedies.

Philip Davetas

Oh my God. Sneeze-a-looza. I got the sniffles just thinking about that stupid-ass primate.

Jacqueline Young

Contagion is another "medical disaster " you should watch!

Lynn

There was a lot going on in the movie and BJ sneezing threw you off 😆😆 but yeah they said in movie there was not enough time for mutation between airplane guy and pet store guy so the host monkey had both and was taking everyone out 😱

JustSomeGuy

Roland the Headless Thompson-gunner.....

Dan Gershgol

Great movie. Had not seen it in many years. The Day After 1983 is a horrific nuclear war movie. You need to see it.

Tray-T

Yes, that's why his anti-bodies were able to cure everyone.

Kyndu

"Contagion"

Renee B

Contagion was such a good movie.

Dan Gonya

Host monkey had both strains simultaneously. The camp that they wiped out at the very beginning, they knew nothing about how anybody contracted it and then synthesized an antiviral over the course of 30 years. The next thing you see is the African village has the virus and they said that the dude walked into the village already sick and drank from the well, thus polluting the well. Now he might have been cutting down trees somewhere and had a brush with monkeys, but they were unaware of what happened because he died 2 hours after he entered the village.

Heather C.

Terrifying how close it was to how we lived through Covid. Contagion made me sooo paranoid. Lmao. But fantastic movie.

Robert Durant

I remember this being THE movie back in it's day, this was the movie everyone was talking about but it seems it's fallen off the radar over the last decade or so. I really wish more reactors would watch this movie. Also if the two of you would like another edge of your seat medical thriller I highly recommend THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN from 1971. The film tells the story of a group of scientists and doctors trying to figure out how to deal with a virus from space and they have to do it in a secret underground multi-level laboratory. A real thriller centered around medical procedures and viral organisms...a film I'm sure had a lot of influence on Outbreak.

Emily Morris

I'm writing this suggestion here because I'm in here now and I don't want to forget this movie later: Best In Show, Best In Show, Best in Show. My work here is done.

Thia

Excellent movie!

Poopy McDoodooface

This is a great movie... it also hits a little close to home after the Covid 19 Pandemic ie. the government working and funding the creation of a biological super spreader that could possibly wipe out large cities, states, countries 😳. Scary stuff 😬 Great movie though and great reactions 👏 "They didn't even wait five minutes " 😆 It gets me every time.

Barb Just Barb

Yes, Cintagion. That was really good. These movies all sure hit different after COVID.

Poopy McDoodooface

The Host monkey had both strains. Again, Great movie.

Jacqueline Young

Pretty sure you guys watched Hunger Games which had Donald Sutherland. Other movies you may have seen with him are A Time to Kill which also has son Kiefer and maybe Fallen.

Kelly

As a note off the topic - You both (assuming you're healthy) should register as potential bone marrow donors. Only an estimated 23-29% of black patients awaiting bone marrow transplants receive from a fully matched donor - which greatly impacts their survival rate. White patients have a much higher success rate as they have a 77-79% chance of getting a fully matched donation. There is a need for donations from all non-white people. Registering is easy - please see the Be The Match Registry for more information. https://www.nmdp.org/

Alanna

Derek Shepherd was patient zero?! I remember this movie but he wasn't D.S. yet; I had it on VHS back in the day. Wow, who knew...Patrick Dempsey

Nat B

This movie was loosely based on the non-fiction thriller The Hot Zone(Richard Preston). This was my favorite book from about sixth grade up into college (had to buy 3 copies bc I kept wearing them out lol). It is one of the most terrifying things I've ever read which is made worse by the fact that it really happened.

Tami Ramos

This is one of my favorite movies. But if you want to see something more rooted in reality, you should react to “Contagion” (2011) starring Matt Damon and Gwenyth Paltrow. This one will tell you exactly how COVID likely made it to the US.

Fhaide

Love this movie, I always shout out loud, cover your damn mouth when you cough, and cough into your elbow. Seriously...all adults know this lol. So selfish. lol he said you cant just treat people like cattle...right as the military was loading bodies into a barn.
