Damien Groome

Just started playing Death Stranding 2 and it's so good 👍

JustOkJeremy

Can someone let me know if they spoil DS1? Thanks

Michael Mashpotato

I started DS2 at 4am this morning and got a good 2 hours in before work. I know this game is going to be goated for me from just the “Recap” video you can watch before starting the game. When the music started I got immediately got goosebumps. From just my 2 hours of play i feel like Kojima really has created an emotional movie experience at your fingertips. ❤️ Lou

Rocket Man

Nah they don’t spoil anything, not even the cameo from solid snake as the final boss.

JustOkJeremy

Calm down buddy we can’t all play every single game

caswellow

Wait, it's live? I thought it wouldn't be til tonight...

AJWhite

At least Geoff Keighley doesn't make an appearance!

Cloud

I can't believe Gene would spoil death standing one by telling us about the existence of a second 😭😭😭

Diddy’s Lube Guy

Building the road system out isn’t “stopping playing the game.” It IS the flipping game.

Colin Moriarty

Gene's gonna have to calm down with all that DS2 glaze. Getting me a little TOO bricked up from it

An Even Taller Brad

I can hardly wait to hear Hoeg be a contrarian for 2.5 hours

Bogey

Not anything major no, but why would you listen to a review discussion of the sequel if you haven’t played the first yet. You should just skip that section entirely, cuz he might inadvertently spoil something. Like how certain characters are in the sequel, so you know they survive the first.

C

Gene, i say this with the most respectful tone possible, but fuck you for making me want to play DS2 after thinking I wouldn’t want to straight away. I started Yakuza 0 for the second time to try finish it and now you’re pushing me away from it. Have you no shame? Why are you so good at selling games?!

Your Boi Nicky V

Rub one out for me is the weirdest outro I've heard on this network 😂😂

Muskrat Mike

That splinter cell write in was one of the most annoying things I’ve ever heard

Lunar Tear

As a lapsed Kojima fan, I'm looking forward to playing DS2. If nothing else, I think my relationship with his games post MGS5 has positioned me to better enjoy DS2 now that I've had time and distance from MGS5 and DS1.

IronLion44

I beat wind waker on my steam deck last spring and it was awesome! I rented it on GC back in the day and got kinda far for a 9 year old but did not get to the triforce quest. Fast forward to today and I played the HD version. I was still annoyed of the triforce quest. Even with it streamlined. So I would be super annoyed of the worse GC version. Sad!

Benthegamer

As much as I’m going to love this episode later, I got about 20 mins in and said “I’ll wait” lol

Anthony Palerino

Shoutout to Hoeg in this episode. Glad he was able to parse between the unjustified hate and the valid criticism (volume) on that spoiler cast.

WhatDarrenPlays

Enjoyed Hoeg on this one, always like hearing about strategy games. Excited for Anno 117 big time.

Dante B

Keep it up to the strategy guide write in. After my own heart. Would point out that publisher Future Press is still going strong and make the best game guides in the business. Downside is they take forever to come out - but they’re exceptional.

The Diddler

I actually like that sacred symbols talk about the numbers. It separates them from the others. It’s the reason why I chose Sacred over other podcasts since it’s fascinating information that you don’t hear anywhere else.

Anthony Rented

Thanks for the episode! It was great but I skipped the entire first hour to avoid any talk of DS2. I’ve avoided everything but the very first trailer.

Cameron Sturre

God I can’t fucking stand the expedition 33 conversations anymore. Please let it go - the well is dry and there’s truly nothing left to say worth any merit. Mocking the people glazing it was funny 2 months ago but I’m baffled at how this bit is still going on.

Publix Chicken tender sub

Here I am thinking, I am going to play my backlog this summer and get DS2 later…..yeah that’s not happening 😂the hype is real🔥

Cai

I’m half way through KCD2 and thought I wouldn’t be rushing to DS2 for a while…until this episode.

Diddy’s Lube Guy

Gonna need a deep dive on the DS2 photo mode on the Punching Up goonercast tomorrow

Diddy’s Lube Guy

I’ll get a dictionary the day you get a speech therapist or even a Hooked on Phonics book

Casey Cieslikowski

lol Gene needs to sort it out he glazed DS2 the same way he made fun of the people glazing E33.

Deemac

2 days early access for digital deluxe version

Jason Rose

Loved Gene’s depiction of DS2. Really enjoy Gene just speaking about video games in general. I enjoyed the first game immensely, but found the over adulation of it a little much. It’s a game of strong ideas, but relatively poor narrative execution and pacing, encumbering UI and menu’s, along with other minor flaws. A great start, but nowhere near the top 5 games of the generation or whatever talk we were being served and certainly a step behind Kojima’s best work that came before. Seems that’s all been sorted and I can’t wait to play the sequel in a few months. A conversation few are having; I don’t think a game of DS2 quality happens without it being an exclusive. Take from that what you will.

Akeem H

Gene, the 'Chasing Waterfalls' reference was *chef's kiss*

Nicholas Renaud

Have they done the summer bets follow up? Did I miss it?

Diddy’s Lube Guy

Wow, a board game podcast would really do numbers. I’m shocked that hasn’t gotten off the ground yet.

Cai

On the British accent thing, one of the best parts of Metaphor was the variety of accents in the cast. As a game that has so much to say about class, the diversity of accents added quite a bit of depth to that world.

Zachary Beach

Hoeg said the Bible says I can continue playing Nintendo games in my thirties, thanks Hoeg!

Jordan Falduto

Ellis Park Hoeg sounds like the name a rural mom would give her newborn

Bert Chintus

“I know my volume was set too high on that spoiler cast” lmao fair enough Hoeg

Jordan Falduto

thank you hoeg for bringing up indie games. dicey dungeons is so good and underrated.

caswellow

Lol. Dude has always been too loud. Its like he is always screaming. I don't listen to anything he is on at this point.

Matt Wiles

Regarding pacing, Gene’s point; I quite liked the slow pace at the start of the first game (DS). Not having vehicles or guns made it more about being a delivery guy. When I got vehicles and guns, the pace massively quickened but delivery guys have a slow paced life… and I enjoyed that. So if anything, bring given the stuff early means I’m bombing around and killing folk, whereas you were forced to walk and traverse carefully in the first game for the first hours. I appreciate his vision in DS1. It was intentional. I often wonder whether directors are having to change pacing in sequels just because some people were moaning loudly. Satisfied gamers are quieter, don’t need to say anything.

ThreeEyedCyclops

Where in the world have you worked as a delivery driver and it be slow? I’ve been a delivery driver for a long time and it’s fast paced the entire shift.

Dresk47

Gene talking shit about sales numbers for stellar blade on ps5 in the previous episode, then proceeding to say he dislikes when Colin and others use sales numbers too much for whatever reason. Classic.

Divorce Paperwork

Agreed. Also a delivery driver and that shit is balls to the wall the moment you get in the truck

Eric

I'm glad I waited til I was a large chunk of the way through death stranding 2 before listening because I definitely would have considered a lot of this spoilers personally.

Eisley

This is my favorite slop podcast

Braxton Wilkerson

Didn’t know I would hear gene’s worst take of all time on this episode - A smashing pumpkins enjoyer
