Here We Go, Down That Same Old Road Again | Sacred Symbols, Episode 367

If you're tired of The Last of Us, well, it's really too bad. That's because Naughty Dog has updated The Last of Us: Part II yet again, this time with a so-called Chronological Mode that orders the game's chapters and subchapters sequentially. It's easy to mock this many updates, of course, but in reality, is Sony going above-and-beyond in keeping some of its older games alive? Shouldn't we applaud the years-long dedication to not only The Last of Us, but to God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Horizon, and others? We discuss. Then: Twisted Metal's second season on Peacock gets a new trailer, STALKER 2 is finally confirmed for PlayStation 5, Final Fantasy IX Remake may be in trouble, Capcom acknowledges Mega Man, and more. Plus: Listener inquiries! If we could only play a single game-as-a-service, which would it be? Could gaming be entering a more serious phase, as the industry finds itself fused more with education? Is it crazy to play sequels without having experienced the original? What are the percentage odds Colin is on the precipice of becoming a Kingdom Hearts superfan? Follow the hosts! Great episode

Dustin looking mighty handsome in that thumbnail

I will cut little slits in my hot dogs and air fry them. They come out crisp and nice!

I just don't understand that write in complaining about the TLOU Pt 2 new update - I mean they've clearly been focusing on Intergalactic for years now, and it's Nixxes who worked on this update(along with presumably a small ND group). How is this a problem, it's a free update (and makes sense to tie in around the time of the TV show releasing, as Chris mentioned). I understand it's fun to joke about the amount of times Last of Us games are re-released, but I really don't get people being genuinely annoyed about this - it's literally a free update. You don't need to play it

(Sigh oh fukn god) Dad! They're flooding the zone again with the last of us.

Beef Burka

I learned this trick from Sam The Cooking Guy

Misanthropic_Altruist

Shout out to the dude who made https://whatgamesarecomingout.com/. Awesome site. Thanks for giving them the deserved exposure. I also had to unfollow and mute Genki for the same reason that he spoiled the bots in the last Astrobot DLC as well. Lol!

JoshM

Shoutout to Colin for bringing up how careless people are about spoiling stuff - I too was caught off guard, not by a direct spoiler, but by two article titles that make it pretty easy to fill in the blanks

Henry Maxwell

...why isn't the thumbnail chronological though? Shouldn't is be Colin, Chris, and Dustin? Or Dustin, Chris, and Colin if by age.

TaskForceHam

Need a Snark Tank Narcan dispenser.

Supes

snark tank IUD when???

LaFlex

Is the movie the 1977 "The Day of the Jackal?" In the first 20 minutes this guy hobbles past security on crutches and then disassembles the crutch into a sniper rifle to take the shot.

Germanos

2:11:45 that's the naivety of someone who never developed video games or software in general.

Born-Blind

The listeners that think Colin is mean or whatever haven't spent enough time in the north east. That sort of ball busting is as normal as breathing up there. It's gotten me in trouble down south though for real. Just differences in culture really

Colin, you fell for the trap it's not about continuing support for games indefinitely, SKG is about consumer rights to access game content sold to them past the point the developer stops supporting it. In how this will done is what needs to be discussed with the EU. I recommend you look at speaking to the founder of the movement Ross Scott (Accused Farms) or checking out his videos
