Hey everyone!

We finally recorded one of our all-time favorite albums in full. This was more than a reaction. Having heard this many many times this was more like a re-discovery.

We choose the 2018 remix to add a bit of surprise to ourselves and maybe this might be your first listen too.

Soon the tears were flowing with this masterpiece. This was just incredible.

Stay until the end of the video for a behind the scenes: The making of Animals

Thank you all! ❤️

Love always,

Nick, Lex & Marley

Wow guys! It's so awesome that you not only react to songs and albums that are new to you but that you share the ones you treasure with us. This was a first listen for me, and I have to say I'm super impressed! I only know 3 Pink Floyd albums fairly well and never really took the time to listen to much else. "Sheep" was my favorite, that could have gone on for another 30 minutes and I wouldn't have been mad. What an incredible album, only wish I would have heard it sooner. Thanks for turning me on to this!

This was my fave Floyd album for the longest time, but it had to grow on me at first.

Great reaction Nick and Alexa. Great idea to doe the remixed version and documentary which was very interesting.

I'm about 3 years late to this video, but just wanted to mention that Battersea Power Station was restored and turned into a shopping centre in 2022, so that's why there were cranes and stuff there when the photo for the remix cover was taken

Did you guys ever check out the alternate (demo but full) takes? They're on youtube if not. I know it's years later so you might know but I think it's similar to Queen. The music that was lost is crazy to think about but there's good solo work also. Amused to death is a great song and interesting work. It's like the police - as well where there's friction but sometimes it's because of talent with everyone wanting to create. Some bands can put it aside like Queen actually who were all talented but Pink floyd was a flame burning brightly that probably ended when it was meant too.

Fantastic reaction. One of my all time favourite Floyd albums. I lost all interest in the band after "The Wall" that was the beginning of the end for me. People keep on about "Darkside" but I believe this a far superior album. The remix is clear and crisp but you can't beat the original pressing.

What an awesome surprise in my inbox this morning! Hadn't listened to the album in its entirety for probably 40 years. I was sitting here by myself, literally clapping at the end. Just wonderful. I'm generally not a fan of remasters and remixes (why fix what ain't broke?) but I would never have noticed the subtle additions and adjustments, so it didn't really affect my enjoyment of this rediscovery. I agree that I would love to see you guys go back and revisit some more of your favorite albums from your past.

Hey Nick & Lex, You just know or understand how happy I am that you had finally got to react to Pink Floyd's Animals and that wasn't good enough for me, But, It's the 2018 remix version of the album on cd with doc noless!! OMFG, It still sounds perfect and the songs still relevant to today's world and it's still that amazing after all those years along with the doc and enough said and thanks again and sending you all love & prayers!! Can't wait to hear from you soon!! Have a great weekend and keep rockin'!! - <3 <3

Debra Brabenec

I had never sat and listened to Animals on headphones before this and was only minimally familiar with it, so thank you so much! It was really great to spend a Friday evening with you two, appreciating a great album!! Loved the doc also- especially the photos of the rogue piggy! Your air instruments were so well done too!! 🎵❤️🎵

That was an absolute joy Nick and Alexia. Animals is far and away my favourite Pink Floyd album, and I'm a huge fan of the band. I have also heard it 'hundreds' of times, but it was great to hear the new remix. The reason you didn't know about it was that although James Guthrie (who also did the 2011 remix, the latest version I own) completed the remix in 2018, Roger and David had a major disagreement (what's new?) about the liner notes to the new release. It finally came out last month, so you were actually pretty up to date with this reaction. As you know, the original album was released in 1977, right in the middle of punk rampaging through the UK rock scene, sending all the established prog-rock bands running for cover, except Pink Floyd! I remember reading a review saying that Animals was as punk as anything by the Sex Pistols or the Clash, but better because they could play their instruments well! It is such an aggressive, angry album with brilliant playing and incredible lyrics. It was so good to see the documentary. From 2014 to 2017 I lived in Southern England, and on my occasional rail trips to London I would ride past Battersea Power Station en route to Victoria Rail Station. So, I saw at first hand the gradual regeneration of the building and it always made me sad and think about Animals and the amazing story of the 'flying pig'. I certainly heard more detail in this remix, with the bass and drums clearer and upfront. This was a good idea to do one of your favourite albums' guys, and I would enjoy you doing some more, so go for it! Thanks again, I'm pleased I joined your Patreon group xx

Gotta put ELP's Pictures at an Exhibition on the voting list.👍

Turned off my tv and decided to spend the evening with you. Love this album, but the company made this listening experience extra special. I have not heard this remix before. The changes are not too dramatic and there is much better bass & drums in this mix so I will now be buying the remix cd. Thankyou for such a great video and the bonus documentary was a lovely surprise. I had not seen that before. Take care, love as always from England. Byee Jim X

Very impressed with this Remix.

Mka

Thank you for doing this remix version of this brilliant album. Listening to music we love an appreciate with you both makes it an even better experience..

Mka

Is it just me or Gilmore's solo on Pigs sounds angry.

It took me a few days before I had some private time to watch the reaction in its entirety without getting interrupted. It brought back lots of great memories it was a great refresher and as always it’s a blast to watch your faces, even though this is very familiar material for you. From what little I know about why they broke up might be summed up in that Roger didn’t share very well. I agree that the new mix sounds a little different but sounds great and I’m listening to it on a more intimate setting. Thanks for the Patreon play to see you guys back in action. Ready for more. Thank you

Scott Anderson

Auto correct fixed my sentence. It was supposed to say from what little I know my understanding is that Roger wasn’t very good at sharing and didn’t appreciate the contributions of his fellow band mates. Sometimes geniuses can be eccentric and not always pleasant people. I think the three remaining members felt like they had been part of the band too long to just give it up and let it go away.

Tommy Canada's Moba Zimmer

Hi guys great choice. However only 360p. Maybe resolution is throttled up here for us Canadians Lol. 720p min please. Keep on rocking

NicknLex

That's odd but you're right, its only 360p. We record in 4K and usually goes down to 720. Very weird.

Matt Lathrum

I'm probably not your normal reply to this one. While Genesis is my #1, I do like Pink Floyd but never got around to hearing all their albums. So this is actually a first listen of Animals for me. I enjoyed "hanging out" and listening with you, N&L!

Matt Lathrum

One idea for King Crimson is to record your live reactions with a countdown so people can play their copy of the song synced with your reaction.
