and our November 2018 Play-Along will be... (Patreon)

Aloha Patrons!

First, a quick reminder that I'll be live on instagram this evening at 5pm Pacific (follow me @cynthialinmusic), and I'll play a preview of our winning song!  And remember to check out Holiday Tour dates and Patron-only discount codes for my music store and letterpress shop.

Thanks for voting in our November song poll (where has the year gone??) - our winner by a large margin is You've Got a Friend, written and recorded by Carole King but first recorded and released (with Carole's permission) by James Taylor.  Fun fact: Joni Mitchell sings back up on BOTH recordings.

If you want to get an idea of the reach of this song, I found a wide variety of inspiration in my research for this song: here's Lady Gaga's amazing tribute version, Donny Hathaway's epic gospel version and Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie's bossa nova version.

You can join me online tomorrow (Thursday) to learn this song in our November 2018 Live Lesson.  I've added some chord melody to this arrangement to capture that iconic riff in the intro.

For each of our monthly song vote winners, I teach a Live Lesson for $5+ Patrons and post a Patron-only chord chart for $3+ Patrons.  I then create a Patron-supported Play-Along to share on YouTube.  Here's a playlist of recent Patron-supported Play-Along videos.  All Patrons will get access to the recorded Lesson once the Play-Along and Chord Chart are published.  Click here to find all available Live Lessons.

If you'd like to change your pledge and join us for the Live Lesson on 11/15 at 4:30PM Pacific Time, click here for help on editing your pledge.

Thanks!

xo cynthia.
