Patron Events for April 2019 (Patreon)

Aloha Patrons! 

First, a warm welcome to lots of new Patrons!  Thanks for joining us here!  If you are a new Patron, please introduce yourself in the comments below.  Feel free to share how long you've been playing, what kind of uke you play, if you have an uke club to play with, what songs you've been working on. And if you've been a Patron for a while and want to share, please go ahead. This is a good place for your questions too - fellow Patrons, feel free to help me answer any newbie questions. 

Thanks to all of you for directly supporting my work and for helping to create a powerful and positive online ukulele community.

A note for newbies - I know Patreon can be a bit hard to navigate. Please be patient and explore, and be sure to join our secret Patrons-Only Facebook group!  (email patronhelp@cynthialin.com with your facebook email address - more info in the Community Notes at the bottom of this post.)  Our community on facebook is active and supportive, and it's the best place to post any question you have about Patreon or ukulele.

The CL Patron App

Are you using the Cynthia Lin Patron App?  Feel free to comment below if you're using it and what you find most useful.  Our Patron Community Manager Richard created the app as a way to conveniently have all your CL links, channels, and resources in one place.

March 2019 recap

In March, I posted three new videos:

• I hope you checked out the premiere of my new music video for “Here Comes the Sun” Thank you for all your support!  Please watch and share! 
• “Shallow” class Play-along went Viral!  Shout out to all my students!!  This video with my Winter 2019 class in San Francisco got over half a million views and even made the SF local TV news!  Watch here 
• I also released a Five-Minute Uke Lesson on the fingerpicking pattern used in my arrangement of “Shallow.” Take a look!
• I also shared the full lesson for Shallow as a bonus lesson for Intermediate Patrons.
• I passed 250K subscribers on YouTube, and held a Signature Ukulele Giveaway live on Instagram. View the contest entries by searching for the hashtag #CynthiaLin250K on Instagram. See all the details in this post.

More March 2019 Patron News:

• "Fire and Rain" Live Lesson video sync issues are fixed -  thanks for all your feedback about the Live Lesson playback being out of sync.  I was able to re-upload the video and it should be in sync now, please confirm!  The March 2019 Live Lesson for “Fire and Rain” is now available to all Patrons. The chord chart is available for $3+ Patrons.  
• I taught my arrangement of “Island Style” at our Beginner Live Jam ($10+ Patrons)
• At our Intermediate Live Jam ($20+ Patrons), we worked on “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” by the Beatles, then jammed using the new Beatles Jam Songbook.

• Tues 4/2 - We're kicking off another year of the #100DaysofUkuleleSongs project - visit this post to join us, either by sharing videos or supporting others!
• Thurs 4/4 @ 4:30PM Pacific Time - Beginner Live Jam ($10+ Patrons) - I'll teach a new beginner song (The Beatles’ “Twist and Shout”) and, after the lesson, we can jam songs from our Beatles Jam Songbook.
• Fri 4/12 through Mon 4/15 - Vote for our Patron Song of the Month (choices will come from the 100 Days of Ukulele Songs project)
• Sun 4/14 @ 1:00PM Pacific Time - Beatles Jam Livestream, watch and jam with folks from around the world!  more info here.
• Thurs 4/18 @ 4:30PM Pacific Time Live Lesson for winning song ($5+ Patrons) + Chord Chart posted ($3+ Patrons)
