Aloha, friends!

#The100DayProject dates back to 2014, and is an annual free art project that is located primarily on Instagram. The Project encourages people around the world to commit to 100 days of exploring their creativity in whatever way ignites their passion. In 2015, I joined in and called my project #100DaysofUkuleleSongs.  I did it on a whim, really, because I needed a challenge to post more videos.  This project turned into my album Ukulele Days, which then went on to hit the Billboard charts!  In short, I believe in the power of this project.

In 2018, I formally invited ukulele players around the world to join me during the hundred day period, and many did!

In #100DaysofUkuleleSongs, all ukulele players are invited to participate in whatever way will spark creativity and inspiration for the ukulele and feed their creative spirit. Whether you’re posting every day or not, whether you’re sharing video or photos, and whether you’re playing songs or interpreting the challenge in another way, I encourage you to use it to create a fun and sustainable daily practice.  I like to say "Practice your ukulele 5 minutes a day, it's good for your brain and good for your soul."  The step beyond that is to share what you've learned, to push yourself and to inspire others.

This year’s Project began on April 2, 2019, and it’s not too late to join in. Participants are posting on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. On Facebook, please join our new group “100 Days of Ukulele Songs,” to post and/or to view others’ posts, or to ask questions about the Project.  If you're doing the project this year, please comment below with your handle so we can look out for your posts!  If you’re not participating this year but have in the past, I’d love for you to join us and share your experiences!

Whether posting on Instagram, Facebook, or Youtube, use the hashtag #100DaysofUkuleleSongs so that your post can be linked to others, and use it to see others’ projects. If you’re on Instagram, you can also follow @CLukesquad, a new account featuring #100DaysofUkuleleSongs posts and activities held by Cynthia Lin Uke Squads around the world. Find it here: https://www.instagram.com/clukesquad/

I hope you’ll join me in 100 Days of Ukulele Songs -- whatever that means to you. Questions, comments, or reflections? Please share below!

Good luck, and may the force be with you!

This is my first 100 Days attempt and I'm jumping on the bandwagon a little bit late. I'm going to start on FB but I'll post it up on my YouTube channel Wasted Hours as well a little bit later in the week. (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqQXh7IXj9BloyLE8lpX1fA)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqQXh7IXj9BloyLE8lpX1fA)</a> <br> I'm going to be focusing on learning to play without sheet music, playing more complicated strum patterns, fingerpicking, bass ukulele and playing with my loop pedal.
