Aloha Patrons!

Welcome to our monthly vote!  Please note that voting closes Tuesday, May 14th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

This is my first post from Hawaii!  We made it safely with Chewie and Mochi, and are quickly settling into our new island lifestyle (Chewie loves it; Mochi is finally warming up after several days in hiding).  Still getting used to this laid-back timezone, so please bear with me as I adjust.  Also, a big shoutout to the CL Patrons crew at the Mighty Uke Day Festival - sorry to miss it, so much fun to see you all together in real life!  (See some pics and vids in our private facebook group)

If you're new to Patreon, thanks for being here!  Please read thoroughly for instructions on how the whole voting process works. (also, if you're new, join our secret facebook group!  Email patronhelp@cynthialin.com with your facebook email address and we'll add you - and see Community Notes at the bottom of this post for more ways to connect.)

How the Song of the Month works

Here's the TL;DR version of what happens with the Song of the Month:

1. All Patrons vote!  (in this post!  see the song options below!)

2. I create a Chord Chart ($3+ Patrons) and teach a Live Lesson ($5+ Patrons) for the winning song, and I'll record a Play-Along to release on YouTube.

3. All Patrons receive access to the recorded hour-long Live Lesson the following month.

THANK YOU PATRONS for directly supporting the creation of these higher production Play-Alongs!  Find all Play-Along posts here.

Song choices from the 100 Days Project and your suggestions

Like last month, I’m presenting song choices taken from my 100 Days of Ukulele Songs project - check out the links to hear my arrangements - and I'm also including some of your most upvoted song suggestions.  Keep your song suggestions coming!  I'll work on arrangements for them in my 5@5 and for the 100 Days project. (ps - for those who wanted 90s songs, give me more song suggestions!  it seems the 90s songs i know are different than the ones you all suggested!)

HOW TO VOTE

1. Click on the check box for as many of the song choices as you like below- yes, multiple votes are allowed. Please note - as soon as you tick the checkbox, the vote is counted. (you can look at the ticker on the right!  Sometimes the ticking doesn't work on certain devices - in this case, try your laptop or desktop vs tablet or mobile)

2. Comment with ONE SONG that you’d want for next month's tutorial. I'll keep your suggestions in mind as new arrangements for the 100 Days Project.  Please keep it to one song suggestion per person.

3. Upvote other people's song choices by clicking the heart on their comment. Upvotes are an easy way to double your voting power!  Your upvotes matter, so I encourage you to come back and look through your fellow Patrons' comments to upvote.

Thank you, and happy voting!

xo cynthia

Patrons, please vote Tiny Dancer! If you watch Elton play it on youtube, I think you'll agree... it's just him, his piano, and magic. I think Cynthia would make a perfect arrangement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UroApoVbKn0

Katherine Tam

For 90s music, how about Killing Me Softly (Fugees) or Iris (Goo Goo Dolls)

Would still like to hear your rendition of Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton. It was one of the songs previously listed and came in second. Would like to see it as an option again. Thanks.

Allyn McColley

I’m always seeing versions of Girl from Impanema that are so difficult to play. It’s a complex song, and it would be great if you could come up with a playable version of it!

Awww. Island in the Sun is still not in the top. Boo. Such a great song.

Dan

Noho PaiPai! Strumming and picking is great on this one!

Lisa Hsu

Did you teach a million dreams to a class? I would love it. If you had a pay-as-you-go option for one-offs (songs you've arranged and taught and have some kind of tutorial video that isn't as polished as your monthlies), I would totally pay.

Pat Ryck

Girl from Ipanema!

Alvaro

Girl from Ipanema!!!!!! Cynthia, you made my day, week, month! I've been wishing for this tutorial for a LONG time. Thank you so much for putting it on the ballot. I know it will be challenging, but one does not get better playing beginner's songs all the time.

Mike Olsen

Thanks for the Elton John option.

Linda Gohata

Only Wanna Be With You - Hootie and the Blowfish

Katelyn Carney

Still haven't found what I'm looking for - U2

So I just watched Pete Townshend performing Won’t Get Fooled Again with Jimmy Fallon ... Pete on Ukulele. So how about a song by The Who on the list next month? Won’t Get Fooled Again sounds like a fun bit ... apart from the gentle smashing of the Uke at the end “)

Dana Calta

The Irish Lullaby would be wonderful, Love me Tender, and Blue Skies all great choices.

Dana Calta
