Aloha, Patrons!
Here's your weekend jam! Today I shared a new video for "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay," which all of you lovely folks voted for way back in August 2018 for our monthly Patron-voted Live Lesson. I shot this video before I left San Francisco, and I'm stoked to finally share it. Feeling some major nostalgia for my former hometown! ❤️

Notes from the video production
The video features lush photography of the rocky coast right under the Golden Gate Bridge, beautifully shot by my longtime Bay Area collaborator Robert Gomez Hernandez of Alumiere Media. These shots were not easy to come by - first, we had to hike down from the cliff above with all our gear. Second, a view this gorgeous draws dozens of tourists and photographers who all wanted the perfect instagram shot. The crowd of tourists patiently allowed me to perform one good take before sprawling over the entire scene; they were chomping at the bit to get their shots, so I'm grateful to even get that one take! For the remaining shots, we had to maneuver quite a bit to crop out the photogs. We also wound up hiking back up after sunset in the dark, cold and wet, with all our gear and only an iPhone light. It was all worth it to capture that light and witness the twilight colors and twinkling bridge lights. There's nothing quite like California sunset. This video really makes me miss our SF beach walks with Chewie.
You might notice that I'm playing an ukulele featuring the San Francisco skyline - this custom tenor was handcrafted by the awesome guys at Tyde Music especially for me, and is called "The Bae." See more detail of that special uke here.
To open this video, I'm trying out a new channel intro - what do you think? Is it a good introduction to who I am and to my channel? What do you think of the music, the clip selection, and the length?
Thanks for watching and commenting, and happy strumming!
xo cynthia.
