Aloha, Patrons!

Thank you to everyone who tuned in for our Beatles Jam yesterday!  Ukulenny and I had an absolute blast.  We had 1000 jammers watching live, and if you missed it, you can watch the replay now.

In preparation for the jam, I was practicing the tab riff from "Ticket to Ride."  I decided to document my process in learning and practicing the riff for my on-going series called the Creator Chronicles.

I teach because I love learning.  I intend to continue learning music for my whole life because it is so fulfilling, and because the possibilities for learning are endless.  Why is learning a musical instrument good for the brain and good for the soul? Because we have to coordinate so many skills at the same time: counting rhythm, recalling chords, finger dexterity, singing lyrics, emotional connection to the song.  But the most important skills I hope to share through my teaching are the practice of slowing down, being patient with yourself, persistence, giving yourself breaks, and enjoying the journey.

Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/knY_pt2a9R0

*Reminder: you can play back the video at .75 or .5 speed to practice more slowly.  Click the gear wheel icon in the bottom-right corner of  the YT window to adjust playback speed.  This feature is available for all YT videos!

Please take a moment to click through to YouTube, give it a thumbs up, and post a comment - it helps spread the word about my videos. 😊 Thank you!!  And be sure to subscribe if you haven't already.

Questions about my creative / learning process?

Do you have questions about my creative process that you'd like me to explore in the Creator Chronicles series?  Comment below!

Hope to see you for the next Community Jam, last Saturday of the month at 12pm Hawaii time - March 27, save the date!

Sending aloha!

Yes Thank you for the way you teach so thouroughly & patiently.💜 That's important I'm going to continue to spread the word. One of my friends is following your channel as well. And I encouraged her to buy her 1st Uke. And yesterday while out of town I showed your Live Stream to a family member & let her hold & strum my Uke & she Loved it. I gave her your website too.🙂Thanks Cynthia for being such a Inspiration you make learning fun. Your Brilliance & Joy shines through!💖 Sincerely Sara

Great seeing you struggle on this riff. It inspires me not to give up. I have and intro and out to tiff to “When I’m Sixty Four” that took me at least 100 tries before I got it. Now I feel I could do it asleep.

This is great, Cynthia! Always helpful to see things broken down into easier bits. Love the facial expressions too. ;-)

Mary Lou Fairweather

So very helpful to see how you learn new things by breaking them down.
