Aloha, Patrons!
Happy to share a new video for "Yellow" by Coldplay, a song that I'd call a modern classic, and brings back some emo memories for me. 😊 It's also really fun to play along to, with easy chords and a mix of fingerpicking and head-banging strumming. Be sure to turn on the Closed Captions to see the chords and lyrics! (a new feature I introduced in the last video, see notes below)

I really enjoyed teaching this song for our May 2021 Beginner Live Jam. This song arrangement is a bit more challenging than our typical beginner song, with a mix of picking and strumming, so we worked through the lesson at a slower, beginner-friendly pace. And we warmed up for the song by reviewing our lessons on Purple Rain, Watermelon Sugar, and Old Town Road - all in all, a really fun jam that was "jam-packed" with technique.

NEW! Turn on the Closed Captions for Play-Along chords and lyrics
Thanks for your feedback on the Closed Caption chords and lyrics. Here's a reminder about how they work - you can click on the CC button (circled in red on the screen cap below) to turn on Closed Captions, which will show you chords in brackets and lyrics so that you can play along. You can turn them off if you'd prefer to just enjoy the video. The coolest feature is that you can adjust the size, color, and font of the captions (clicking on the gear wheel icon > Subtitles/CC English > Options), and you can grab them with your cursor and move their placement on the screen.
Clicking the gear wheel icon also allows you to adjust playback speed. You can play back the video at .75 or .5 speed to practice playing along more slowly.
