So excited for next weeks episode (ep6) not a spoiler but a reminder please watch until after the credits there's an extre scene!

Gaby

I do think Dean is justified in getting angry, after all, John did warn him that he might have to kill Sam, and nearly all the other kids Azazel did this to, ended up going evil. Plus, a demon of all things is the one encouraging it. Now, on top of it all, the angels are telling him to stop it. Maybe there is a better way instead of just swinging at his brother, but Dean did grow up with John, so...

Amina

I found out very recently that "rugaru"/"rougarou" comes from the French word "loup-garou" which is their word for "werewolf." Which is very funny to me because "rugaru" sounds like a little kid heard the word "loup-garou" and kept repeating it incorrectly until it became established.

Cyndy

I love Dean. But he can be the bitchiest most passive aggressive guy ever.

Amanda Hoffmann

Gentlemen, I bloody love you. I watch you for supernatural and I will watch it with to the very end. But I will be BLOWN AWAY if you make it through all 15 seasons. 😂🥰😬

Anita

Im going to ask if (and i mean this with no offense) anyone thinks this actress who plays ruby now is an awful actress

Cass&Jason

This is the first episode that I actively dislike. I usually skip it on rewatches. BTW, before it closed, the Beetle House in LA offered "Rougarou beignets". Or maybe it was Rougarou ragu. It's been a long time.

Kimberly S. (Rawr)

Dean finding out about Sam using his powers & sneaking around with Ruby was TENSE. Oop the boys are fighting 😳 The “if I didn’t know you, I would wanna hunt you” line was brutal. The closeups of the guy with the insatiable hunger was so gross. New monster lore! The rugarou was one I’ve never heard of. Sergio be like - I want the guy to survive but I wanna see what he turns into more 😂 Man-burger helper was crazy! I mean, the talk with Jack could’ve gone better. The brothers bursting into her apartment with things to set him on fire & scaring the hell outta the woman was hilarious. “We’re here to save you I guess” 😂 Travis taking things into his own hands was crazy. And his wife being pregnant! 🤯 So tragic with him feeding on Travis and his wife being terrified of him. Sam trying to appeal to Jack but ultimately having to take him out was sad. Sam’s feelings about having demon blood in him & the parallels with Jack was done so well. Great acting by Jared & Jensen in this intense emotional episode. The distance between the brothers since Dean went to hell has been laid out nicely since the beginning of this season. That disconnect is very prevalent. Cody’s “your powers are bad mmkay” had me dying 😂 Another fantastic reaction guys 🖤

RavenLord

The first one was much preferred, is my opinion. She had the right swagger.

RavenLord

LOL! Sergio and I said at the same exact time, "You're sweaty, too." 🤣 Great minds and all that, I guess!

Ellorna

To be honest, I wouldn't have told Sam the truth about why he was doing it either. Just cause Sam and Dean say they wouldn't have done that, this man - whose life has just went through an entire upheaval of epic proportions - has no reason to trust that considering their "friend" just came in and tried to do that exact thing. For all he knows if he tells them they're going to go hunt down his wife to do the exact same thing. And honestly, I'm with Sam. . . you do nothing until there's a reason to do something. Otherwise you're just attacking people/beings/whatever label of choice who don't know what is happening and/or have done nothing wrong, and you are the monster in that equation.

AJ

This episode is a hard watch, but Cody SENT me with the "Castiel as Mr. Mackey" bit 💀

Lauren Elizabeth

“These boys just need to tell each other the truth sooner” 😭 Season 4 is so good, glad you guys are enjoying it

LeslieW

It always hurts when the boys lie to each other.

ash

Neither Katie or Gen were convincing enough to me. Katie was so stiff and lacked chemistry with everyone but Jensen. Gen’s Ruby at least had chemistry with her scene partners

Cyndy

"Emotions are coming out in our fists".... that's how the brothers work it out. Lol

Anita

Yeah thats what I felt too! Katie Cassidy had a swag to her. Gen for me was a bit wooden and had lost some of that badass devious vibe Katie had.

Ebony

It’s ridiculous how excited I get to watch this with y’all. Especially considering the fact that I basically qualify for a phd in this particular show at this point.

KatieBee

This one is very sad. I always wonder what would have happened if Travis hadn't taken the wife hostage and done everything he did. Ugh that bone snap was brutal, the one with Travis' cast arm! I don't think I've seen that anywhere else.... I can't remember any other movie or show where somebody broke somebody's bone when it was already in a cast. Idk why but psychologically for me that's so much worse. Shivers!

KatieBee

"ya need to stop it, mmmkayyy?" 😛😂😂😂

Stacey H

“If I didn’t know you, I would want to hunt you”. I hate it when the boys are fighting and lying to each other. 😢 What came out of this ep for me Sam is really struggling with how he sees himself and how Dean sees him. And Dean does not get it.

draeonic 🪼

Love that the go-to solution to the wife being pregnant with a probable future monster was "kill her with fire" and not "suggest abortion." 🙄

Pie

This is the last episode directed by Kim Manners. He died on 25 January 2009. "Kick it in the ass!" was his catch phrase. It will crop up from time to time in future as a tribute to Kim Manners. And I get a lump in my throat every single time.

Susie

People often blame Travis for Jack turning and I get that. However, I am skeptical that Jack could have fought that hunger for the rest of his life. We only saw him fight it for a short period of time and a lifetime could be a very long time. Personally, I don't think it's fair to wait to see if or when he murders and consumes an innocent person to stop him. However when it comes to his wife, I don't understand why she wasn't told about the father so perhaps she could consider terminating the pregnancy. Also, I understand that Sam was comparing himself to Jack but I don't see them the same at all. Sam has lived his whole life with demon blood and didn't use his power and it isn't necessary for him to do so. Jack hasn't had to deal with depriving himself for his whole life. The journey had only begun for Jack.

Susie

I completely agree with this and let's not forget that season 2 Sam would have agreed as well. After all, Sam kept insisting that Dean kill him should he go "dark side". The most important thing to me was Sam not telling Dean about using his power and I don't buy his excuse as to why. I believe Sam feels that it's wrong in his heart. Dean was right with the exception of him hitting Sam. However, as you said, he did grow up with John and I strongly suspect that is how John handled Dean.

Sonja

It's mainly Dean tho. Sam very rarely relies on one-sided violence towards his brother.

Sonja

While I do agree Dean was justified in getting angry, I still think he should've listened to Sam's side better cuz Sam was actually saving people's lives (the knife always kills the host, even the ones who would've survived). Also, Sam grew up with John, too, and doesn't one-sidedly resort to violence. Dean's abusive habit when he feels like Sam is out of line or says something Dean doesn't like is just gross.

AJ

💀💀💀 "destiny can't be changed mmmmkay?"

Astoria

To answer the question at the end, given what Jack’s wife has seen, the simplest answer and solution (even if it’s a difficult one) would be abortion. Not out of fear of the child itself, but more to spare them what would happen and what would have to be done.

Astoria

OMG, thanks to that clue I know which episode it is, and yes, they HAVE to watch it!

Victoria

Hello guys! Big fan of yours here. I don't know if someone already recommended this for you but i would LOVE to see you react to PENNY DREADFUL! It is dark, queer, gothic, romantic and absolutely perfect when it comes to acting, writing and story telling. Not to speak of the visuals! I really really think you guys would love it! I came to your channel when you started Hannibal, it is my all time favourite show alongside Penny Dreadful and Interview with the Vampire. Unfortunally no reactor ever choose PD because it is more niche and I guess more popular shows get better numbers but I will keep recomending this on your posts now and then just to make sure you don't miss out, and because honestly there isnt any reactors out there I will love to watch reactions to that show more than yours! Best wishes! V 🌹

Stacey

I have never liked Gen in this show. She comes across as a terrible actress- very one-note.

Susie

Dean never trusted Ruby and Sam promised him that he would do things the way both their dad and Dean taught him. Dean finds out that Sam went back on that promise and he is working with Ruby while lying about it. Saving people is great, but how you save them matters as well. Sam is using the power that was given to him by a demon in order to save the people. Sam thinks he is doing right, but Dean has every reason to believe that it is wrong. As for Dean and Sam growing up under John's rule, John treated Sammy differently than he treated Dean. John was a bad father to both boys, but I believe that Dean received more abuse because he was the older sibling. Perhaps Dean hitting Sam is gross, but why doesn't Sam leave Dean? Sam is a grown man and there is nothing that Dean could do if Sam left. The both of them are products of a neglectful and abusive household. That upbringing manifests itself differently in both boys for a variety of reasons.

Susie

How was Dean being passive aggressive in this episode? It seemed to me that he was straight forward with Sam.

Malene Aa

Both Sam and Dean are very flawed characters. It is a good thing. They feel real and you still root for them. This show does character work so well.

Gaby

Again, I am not condoning the punching, but the anger is justified, and I mean that Dean is not a perfect man, specially considering how he was raised. Plus, John was worse for Dean. In all flashbacks we can see the position he put Dean in, even though he was also just a kid. Most happy memories Sam has as a child is because Dean created them form him, at his own expense. Yes, he was saving people but at what cost? They have exorcised people without powers before. Plus, Sam absolutely knew he was wrong, not in just using his powers but in also HOW he was using them, what was increasing it. He hid it from Dean because of how absurd the whole thing is.

Gaby

Yeah, I kinda liked Ruby in season 3, even though I knew she could not be trusted. But Ruby season 4 is just boring and wooden, trying too hard

katyggls

The unfortunate thing is that Dean has learned his communication skills from John (the mean older version, not the one we met in the last episode). He's right to be scared, but his fear for Sam comes out as anger (oh toxic masculinity), which is really counterproductive. Now Sam feels judged and defensive, which in most cases makes a person easy pickings for dark influences.

Trinity Bernhardt

I prefer Katie too, but I don't know how much is writing. Her approach has changed. She seems more empathetic than Katie's version and ironically it makes me trust her less. Katie felt like a demon who could be serving her own interest through helping them. So far Gen's Ruby feels all about Sam, but why would a demon ever be selfless? Of course there is so much we don't know about the last 4 1/2-5 months.

Trinity Bernhardt

I agree and disagree. Travis definitely forced it now, but it was still unlikely he would hold out. Travis was still wrong though. Even if someone is an alcoholic you don't get to forcefully pour a drink down their throat and then blame them for ending their sobtiety. On the one hand he is struggling hard, but he is also just coming to understand what he is feeling. As someone chronically ill I can tell you the emotional difference when your body is freaking and you don't know why vs when you have a diagnosis. Sometimes nothing changes except the knowledge, but it makes it a 1000% times easier to live with. It will never actually be easy though. We see that there are those, like Lenore and her vampire pack, who do fight the urge everyday. It is a risk though, and whether it is more ethical to kill an innocent man or risk future innocents is a fair question. There are people out there though dealing with mental illness or dark thoughts that greatly increase their odds of perhaps being killers or doing other harmful things. At what point do we justify locking them up "just in case" though. These are complicated questions.

Trinity Bernhardt

I think it has a lot to do with how they were raised. While both were raised by a man who likely had them sparring constantly and probably showed his anger physically i think Dean protected Sam from it a lot, emotionally and physically. Sam said John never hit them, and I believe that, for him. Dean never says it either way, but I get the feeling Dean knew a very different John. Dean's protections, like not telling him the truth about monsters for an extra five years, popped a lot and allowed Sam to think independently. So that, and time away at college, just helps him fit into the societal mold better. That includes more socially accepted ways to handle anger.

Trinity Bernhardt

I think it allows us to visualize the bone snapping in a more direct way than seeing an arm break. The white and strength of the cast make us imagine the actual bone snap.

Karen_Tries

Bahaha not the devils wear Prada quote just thrown in there! 😂 I love it here!

Trinity Bernhardt

In the last episode people talked a lot about why Cas showed Dean, instead of telling him, and I think he wanted this intensity. Not that he wants them fighting, but he wanted Dean to come in hard and put his foot down, only it doesn't work like that with brothers. This part is interesting, because I think who you relate to more severely impacts how you feel. Neither is completely right or completely wrong. I am a Dean girl, so I have a tendency to trust, or not trust, who Dean does. I feel like he is coming from a very logical side to this. If power comes from evil, power might make you evil, stay away. Everything he has been taught since he was 4, everything he went through since his dad told him he might have to kill Sam, what Azazel said about Sam, what he saw in the past, and just the idea it isn't right for a human to have power is making him terrified and Dean handles fear one of two ways, running in recklessly or lashing out. He has been consistent in that. His fear is understandable. Sam is coming at it emotionally. He is being torn apart by what is inside. It scares him too, and when he is scared he needs to control it. Of course he wants to save people and try to find the bright side. He doesn't want to feel this way about himself. That is a very vulnerable place to be, and I empathize with him. Still pissed he lied, especially how. For some reason the "it was practically your dying wish" insistence makes me feel maybe one punch was justified 😉 I feel like Jack was a pretty obvious parallel to Sam and how he feels and what he fears. I don't think people talk about how Travis is a warning/parallel to Dean much though. Both men are scared of what is inside of Jack and Sam. They are scared of the cost if they don’t do the correct thing. Travis gave into that fear and anger though and created the monster, ultimately destroying himself. Maybe Dean is right, maybe he us not, but his fear and anger won't help Sam. It will only push him further away. Travis was called once or twice in the hunt for dad. I think Sam mentioned John got his ammo from him.

KatieBee

Yeah or like the indication that it might already be sore... 🫪

I love learning and reading about mythology, supernatural, folklore type lore so here's a little about Rugaru's. Rugarus in traditional folklore are completely different from the ones featured on Supernatural. In traditional Cajun / Louisiana and Canadian folklore, a rugaru is a monster with the head of a wolf and the body of a man that prowls the swamps to feed on the blood of humans. Becoming a "rugarou," as it's spelled by some (itself a variation of the original French loup-garou), is dependent on which lore is referenced. Some become one by being bitten by another rugaru; others change after being cursed by a witch. French lore says that people become a rugaru if they break Lent seven years in a row. Once transformed into a rugaru, they are cursed to be a blood-sucking monster for a hundred and one days and must feed on human blood (not flesh) daily. A rugaru's hunger for human blood is said to be insatiable and he possesses superhuman strength and speed. Some lore claims that a rugaru can be cured of their condition if someone draws its blood on the end of the hundred and one days. After that, they can't speak about it to anyone until the hundred and one days are over. If so, the victim will return as a rugaru along with the person that cured them. Rugarus in traditional lore are said to fear frogs, are repelled by the sign of a Hexagon and salt, which will burn its skin if it comes into physical contact with it. Just like in Supernatural, rugarus can be killed by fire or by decapitation; but on a full moon, the only true way to dispose of the beast is stabbing it deep in the chest with a wooden stake curved from cypress and dipped in dead man's blood.

When you can after a series slot opens up you should check out Grimm.

Brooke Tisdale

Have they mentioned being aware of the animated season from 2011? I loved that so much and still have the dvd! I’d love if they could watch that at some point. As far as I’m aware it’s set in season 1-2 but it also states it’s not completely canon. It’s very interesting.

Coty Paape

The keyhole prolly goes through both sides. Old fashioned door lock

Jenny

My "let's watch something while eating breakfast" approach was inconvenient this time. 🤣

Shannon S

Why is no-one reeeeeady? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anthony

Damn Ruby (Genevieve) looks good!! The eating reminded me of The Substance. Disgusting lol He is sweaty too but he’s not fat lol. Again Supernatural gets the best looking women ! The wife (Joanne Kelly) is gorgeous The insert of the guy cutting his lawn looking over always takes me out lol. The make up on Jack after he turned looks good!! “This is my choice.” Something Sam has very little say in his life so far. Yea Sam saying he’s a whole new level of freak is definitely a reference to Dean calling him that early on.

Jackson Potluck

Because it's literally one of my favorite lines in anything ever, what angel says is "Nothing we do matters. So all that matters is what we do." It's a very simplified way of summarizing the philosophy of Albert Camus. ❤️

Hollie

I was indeed, eating my lunch whilst watching this.😭

Martelo

I love supernatural, firs show I felt like part of a community when it was aired. And I may watch some episodes in advance to remember but it’s not the same without you guys. So I’m just so glad and excited to go down the road with both of you. ❤️❤️❤️ and the boys.

Natalie Halveston

What I love when introducing a Hunter is it shows the audience that not all hunters are good, smart or able to distinguish between good and bad. We have Ellen, Jo that you know are decent people. Bobby that is smart and full of knowledge. But then you have Gordon and Travis that are so black and white in their thinking. They're flawed human beings.

Natalie Halveston

Loved this reaction. And yes I. Lame Travis too. Jack was a good dude.

ariel mermaid

The stop the car or I will lol “Wait with your mind” took me out lol I was thinking the same thing my first watch too

Rebecca Hopkins

My Aunt Joyce had a keyed door lock on her bedroom closet doors, and only she had the key. You could insert the key on both sides of the doors. Her closet was also temperature controlled. It was for securing and preserving her expensive bags, suitcases, shoes, clothes, vintage furs etc. She later had a programmable electronic numbered lock put on the double doors as well. She had a lot of Louis Vuitton 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 She’s the only person I’ve ever known that had locks like that on a closet door. She said that when she had a particularly stressful day, she’d go into her closet and lock the door and just sit in there, soaking in her beautiful things. I responded that I was never going back in the closet again even if it was one dripping with diamonds, gold and Louis (which made her laugh cause she’s amazing) 🤣😂.

Aj

Omg Joane Kelly. I LOVED her character in Warehouse 13. If you have seen it yet. Thats all ill say! Its a great show!

Jolie DuBois

No spoilers, but just know that a LOT of people come back around in Supernatural. Man I love this show sm!!

Rhast

OMG I forgot it was this episode. The chewing noises. I cant do it.

Wham8

Feel bad for the actor who had to eat all that? Check out the channel https://www.youtube.com/@ScottPropandRoll. He shows how prop food (and other stuff) is made, including for scenes that have to be shot more than once or are lengthy. Super interesting. For example the fake raw hamburger.

Jaida

Omg your glasses lighting up green around time stamp #32!!!
