I really can't believe it's already been a month since the last production update. Pretty much all I've been working on since is the next big video: The Silent Hill 3 Analysis. Last time I updated here I had recorded a playthrough of the game. Since then I've recorded a couple more runs, written the script, recorded and edited the audio and am currently working on putting the footage in.

After editing all the audio together I can confirm this is gonna be my longest video yet clocking in at around 2 hours.

I honestly initially thought that Silent Hill 3 would end up being a shorter video than 2. I had forgotten though how insanely dense of a game SH3 is though; 3 games into the series the complexity of this franchise's universe has only kept stacking higher and we'll be going over all of it.

Legend Backers can now watch an 8 minute preview of the video focused primarily on some of the game's combat here.

Legend Backers are also currently able to vote on the upcoming 4 major videos that will be the focus after the SH3 video releases here.

Before I embark on the next 4 major videos however, I think I'll be taking a short break from big videos to make a few shorter vids. There's some ideas for smaller videos I've been mulling over for a while and it's actually almost been a couple years since I last actually did a few smaller projects. I think now after SH3 it will be a good time for a change of pace for a month to do some quicker stuff too.

In other news another episode of Backlog with Brit Dino Crisis 2 just released here, available to all backers. In this episode we explore an underwater area but it's primarily just me discussing my thoughts on the recently announced EXOPRIMAL by Capcom.

I really wanted to wrap Dino Crisis 2 up in one big episode or something, but my computer is currently so full of SH3 footage I'm unable to do so! In more ways than one getting that video out will be a weight off!

I apologise there hasn't been any TGB Insider videos since Sifu. While there are new games out at the moment I really want to play, I just want to get the Silent Hill 3 video finally done. It's a massive project and it requires my full intention if I intend on releasing it soon.

And if that's gonna happen I need to get back to it! I'll see you back here soon!

I feel like I'd be short changing you after watching this two-plus hour video and simply stating "great analysis!" I think you gave Silent Hill 3 its long awaited dues. Like, I think dissecting the mythos in game release order leads to a more constructive discussion of the overall story of the trilogy and brings better understanding (or lack there of) of what is exactly happening to the titular town. It is just really refreshing to see someone take the time to break it all down in such a cogent fashion. Same with the examination of the gameplay. I loved how much time you spent on the mirror room in the hospital and breaking down how the events happening through the lens of the gameplay exclusively provides a unique experience in horror. And if there was one thing I was hoping you were going to discuss (and so glad you did) it was Heather's examinations. Like, they have yet to be topped, right? And I'm sure I'll stand by that until I see Chris in RE examine an ashtray and think about how he gave up smoking. LoL I could go on, but Christ, this would just end up looking like a peer review for an English class paper with only praise. Basically: Chef's kiss. I was a junior in high school when this released and for my money, it is still the best SH and the scariest horror game around. I was taken aback when you mentioned that SH1 was only four years before SH3. It may as well have been a lifetime for me. Things were changing so fast in the video game space at that time. It was an awesome era to grow up in. A fun aside (because in for a penny, in for a pound, right?) I was working at a haunted house at the time and my uncle was the director (nepotism at its finest right there) and he borrowed the soundtrack that came with SH3 (I don't know if that was the case in other regions outside of the US) and used it for music in spots at the haunted house. So, I mean... How is that for unnecessary trivia? Ha ha!

I... Don't know how this ended up under the Video Production Update and not the SH3 post. My bad. Patreon's website can be awfully janky, I swear.
