I can't watch. I can't watch. I can't watch. I can't look away.

Michael Bates who plays Guard Barnes also played Field Marshall Montgomery in the 1970 film "Patton." I recommend "Patton."

Brutal, but extremely thought-provoking film. Great choice for YT! Another tough but great film from 1971 is Dirty Harry, with Clint Eastwood.

For a more delightful Malcolm McDowell role watch Time After Time where he plays H.G. Wells chasing Jack the Ripper into the 20th century using his time machine. It’s also the big screen debut of the amazing Mary Steenburgen.

https://youtu.be/gRPcuziZFlY?is=XwvbsIF1vKZT7DfE I know how much you love a good Behind the Scenes video. I hope this helps to answer some of the questions you had as you were watching the movie. I think it’s just as eye opening as the film itself.

The eye thing is the only way I can watch other reactors....😳

Hi Kate! I just watched your reaction to Kubrick's brilliant "A Clockwork Orange" film adapted from the novel by Anthony Burgess. The language used in the dialogue was based on the language invented in the book. The famous "Singing in the Rain" scene was improvised when Kubrick told Malcolm McDowell to improvise a dance after previous takes were unsatisfactory. During the eye clip strait jacket scenes McDowell seriously scratched the cornea in his eye and filming had to stop for weeks until he healed. As with All Kubrick films the cinematography, sets, score, and costumes were impeccable to create a World for us. The film made Malcolm McDowell a Star. "A Clockwork Orange" was initially given an X rating in the USA, and Kubrick cut 30 seconds of explicit shots in the sex scene that was speeded-up, so it was then given an R rating. When you're up for another Kubrick film I suggest his next film, "Barry Lyndon" 1975, a story set in the 18th Century shot all in natural light. It's a stunning and more subtle story of a Rake and his Progress. Cheers! Dave

Great reaction! Off topic, I don't know if this has ever came up on a poll or not, but please check out Fight Club (1999) w/ edward norton & brad pitt. It's such a well made and fun movie. I think you would appreciate it.

Hi Kate! First Blade Runner and then Clockwork Orange! I love it! I first saw this film in my late teens (early twenties?) and of course it rocked my little world. It took me a minute to work past the visuals and the violence. But what I came to admire most was the symmetry: Alex the Monster. Alex the Victim. Society the Victim. Society the Monster. And in the end, the two Monsters meet and join forces; become one Super Predator. It made me mad when I was younger. Now it makes me sad (a little), but mostly its sort of a weary acceptance of how the world seems to be - now more than ever. Perhaps something with a "happy ending" next? I'm serious. I used to turn my nose up at sentimentalism of any kind. But these days I realize that movies are a kind of fantasy world. And if you can't even win in your fantasy world, what's the point? Anyway, as usual I enjoyed your reaction very much! Thanks, Bye!
