Hi guys, just a quick heads-up to let you know that I updated the framework to fix support for

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3321460/Crimson_Desert/ and

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2909400/FINAL_FANTASY_VII_REBIRTH/

Both games were broken in VR by the latest official patches. The Early Access version with the fixes can be found here.

If there are no more patches to FF7RB, in a week or so I'll also update the public version.

As for BOND, the latest official patch is safe to install, but be mindful that some users (myself included) have experienced a weird flashing image retention during hand-to-hand combat, especially when the yellow indicator goes off in close quarters. Apparently the problem is due to some pipeline corruption that occurs when the game updates, and I was able to fix it by clearing the shader cache.

BTW, clearing the shader cache seems to have become the go-to solution for fixing all kinds of weird graphical glitches these days, no matter whether you play in VR or flat. It seems that NVIDIA just can't get the caching mechanism to work robustly. Keep that in mind if you encounter any otherwise unexplainable forms of image corruption.

Thanks Luke.

Tomo

yeah after changing resolution slider I had the weird red dots / flashes appearing all over the sky and screen, had to re-run file to get rid of them. How do you clear shader cache again?

Brandon(Post Maester)

AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache Delete all the files it will allow you to. Then it will recompile next time you run the game.

AaronCLS

Thanks Luke! Were there any notable performance/visual improvements from the devs for CD? I am really hoping the fix that denoiser thing

Brandon(Post Maester)

Not on that level that I saw. They fixed some issues when things were wet it looks like. I didn't see any mention of DLSS or shadows or anything like that.

flobv

When Nvidia releases the new Ray Reconstruction version, and Crimson Desert integrates it, it will fix many of the visual glitches.

Roman Petrov

Hi Luke! Could you make a VR mod for The Witcher 3? I think it would look great in VR

flobv

I kept asking Witcher 3 for ages now. Luke also admitted that everybody asked for Witcher 3. But he also implied that he won't do games from developers that issued DMCA against him, which is totally reasonable. I just hope he will make 1 exception for Witcher 3.

John Zigmont

You can also download DDU it has clear shader option.

Tomo

What is DDU?

John Zigmont

Display Driver Uninstaller you can download the program Guru3D.com

AaronCLS

Not likely to deal with anything CD Projekt again, for a good reason. But you may still be able to play W3 in stereoscopic 3D using the helixmod.blogspot mod. Look it up.

Brandon(Post Maester)

I think that ship has sailed at this point after the whole DMCA fiasco. He tried supporting Witcher 3 a long time ago but said it was a big mess and would take a lot of time to do.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Yeah, but at what cost? And will we ever be able to use RR without being forced to use Max lighting and RT on top of it? And who knows what kind of GPU's we will be getting in the future, if any, with the rise of AI. If they just fix their DLSS implementation and the shadows on NPCs, we won't really need RR as much. It will still be nice for reflections but I'd rather they not force people to use heavy performance settings to overcome defects they could work on.

Brandon(Post Maester)

@Tomo, have you never cleared your drivers and did a fresh install before? You should probably do that if you never have 😉

Snow wolf(nalad)

Hi Luke, I have a question. I’m using a Quest 2 with Virtual Desktop. When I use R.E.A.L. VR with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the image quality becomes extremely blurry, almost like 360p resolution. Other VR mods don’t have this problem on my system. Is there a setting I should change to improve the image quality or increase the render resolution? Thanks! And……My PC has an RTX 5090 and 64GB RAM, Intel Core Ultra 9 285K,so I don’t think it’s a performance issue

Tomo

Hmm no i havent 😅 first time i am hearing about it. All works well so never saw the need doing it. Whats the benefit?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Not mandatory and if things work fine, you don't have to. It is just good to do once in a while to clear out old files and registry entries etc. that may cause some conflicts or performance issues. Definitely worth doing after replacing your GPU.

Martin Kartzmark

Hey Luke you have several Ubisoft snowdrop games which run great with your vr mod. Any reason other than possibly multi player issue you have never done the division games. They would be incredible in VR.

Cabaya

What about subnautica 2? It seems that when we want to play it in native stereo, the right eye goes black. Some people are looking into it and it seems that the shaders are causing it with unreal engine 5? Did you hear something about that?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Have you used the PPD slider to increase resolution in the REAL overlay main tab? Also make sure you don't have anything like motion blur or depth of field active as a rule. Also make sure Scaling Mode is set to fixed.

Brandon(Post Maester)

I don't see any reason at all for Luke to spend time on Sub 2. They are already close to fixing it and putting a lot of work into it. No need for Luke to jump on it.

RossH

Thanks for fixing the Great Circle again. Unfortunately, I can no longer access the REAL menu screen. Now, when I press the "start" and "back" buttons simultaneously, my PC shifts to another application like an open browser window, rather than opening the REAL interface like it did previously. This may be some new type of Windows 11 home PC/Xbox integration? Are there any other ways to open and close the REAL interface for The Great Circle?

Mortis Praytock

Hey Luke, not sure if PA pushed a silent fix, but I just purchased and installed CD today, along with your latest realvr files, ran the config as per you instructions, and I am getting a white screen that freezes when i start the game from steam. I also noticed that file version of CD is currently 1.0.0.1673 on the exe file properties... not sure if that is known, or if I am doing something wrong here?

Corey

Hello - I'm not able to get the 007 game to inject to VR. The game boots and the REAL mod UI displays in windowed mode but it is unable to initiate VR. This is with a quest 3 via VD. Older versions of the mod are still functioning perfectly for their respective games, it seems to just be this release with this game specifically. I have tried restarting and reapplying the mod but no success. Any assistance would be appreciated

Brandon(Post Maester)

Are you using Oculus runtime with VD? No SteamVR right? Use VDXR in the streamer app and Oculus runtime for REAL.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Still working after the latest patch on my end. Make sure you don't have Frame Gen turned on, that has been a common issue. Also make sure Nvidia app isn't turning it on or allowed to "optimize" the game for you. If you need to stop REAL from injecting to check settings, just rename dxgi.dll to dxgi_.dll

Mortis Praytock

scholar and a gentlemen! Ill check those items.

Brandon(Post Maester)

If that isn't the issue, let me know what headset you are using and how it is connected.

Mortis Praytock

no luck, nvidia app unoptimized, FG turned off. I am running steam and steam vr over quest 3 headset with direct link cable to PC. The splash screen for CD comes up, but the game screen pops up a couple seconds later pure black and the moment you touch it its froze. I can rename the dll and the game runs... just not when its running on the DLL . reflex off, FG off, vsyc off....only thing I cant figure out is how to set to the square resolution. ... I renamed the dll to go and double check settings in video tab... I feel like im missing something here... ****UDPATE: think i found it ... even though I set all hose things OFF... the game keeps putting them back on, even though the nvidia app is set to off also ... trying to see what keeps turning them back on...**** ***Update: Discovered that the user_engine_option_save.xml located in appdata/local/pearlAbyss was set to turn everything back on ...this is the same file that was updated by the realconfig.bat? i had to go in and manually set everything to false... not sure why it kept turning everything back on. ***UPDATE: got it working, seems a bit blurry, I think i need to fine tune some things maybe. real hard to read the minimap at the bottom left corner of the eye. This is AMAZING!

Corey

Yeah, seems reinstalling the meta link app seemed to resolve it somehow

Brandon(Post Maester)

Well, at least you got it running now. You shouldn't be using SteamVR with an Oculus headset though. Do not start SteamVR, it should use Oculus runtime automatically which will save you performance and probably look better too. Yes, you will need to fine tune settings and resolution. Make sure you look over the post for the game! Yes, the Realconfig.bat file does adjust some of the settings via the xml file. Is it set to read only or something? That is the only reason I can think of, that would make it keep resetting.

B33LZ

2nd time of asking these games - just for Luke to see it, if it's annoying, I won't be requesting them under every post :) - Mass Effect Trilogy - Bioshock Trilogy - Batman Arkham City/Knight/Origins

Amethystgarbage

New sub :) Doom The Dark Ages crashes to desktop on launch after installing the mod. Following the uninstall let's it run flat just fine but cant get it in VR. Any ideas?

WIG

Thank you CD is my 2nd life right now

RossH

Found the issue - it was a Windows 11 Game Bar setting creating the problem. I thought I had disabled the Game Bar, but a second setting using simultaneous "back" and "start" Xbox buttons exists, which I promptly disabled. Where does unique game setup information exist now? I thought Luke's INFO link might include his initial/updated setup information, but it only includes basic game information, not a guide for setting up the REAL mod. For example, The Great Circle only works correctly if the game is set in Window mode (not even Borderless Window mode) with 1920x1080 display. Other settings will distort the game's geometry. REAL's need for Steam Input to be enabled for this game should also be described in some type of REAL setup "INFO" description. The game's visuals looks superb with my Super microOLED engine headset, and the performance is surprisingly good. With 100% Steam scaling, I am getting over 70 fps with DLSS Quality and maxed in-game graphics settings. Note that the REAL render window size does not change when I use Pimax Play to change the headset FOV from Normal to Narrow (even though SteamVR 100% size changes from 5424x5356 to 4440x5356).

Brandon(Post Maester)

Bioshock is a no go because of the Take Two DMCA for their games. He was actually working on a Bioshock game when it happened :(

Batraaf

Any Batman game would be amazing

dylannn

Hi! Don't really know where else to ask about this problem. The 1st person camera preset isn't working for Dark Souls 2 even though everything else seems perfect, it just says '1st person N/A' and selecting it doesn't do anything. DS1's first person camera works fine for me, so I'm not too sure what the problem is.

AaronCLS

Mass Effect trilogy would be the biggest win ever, man.

AaronCLS

FYI for 007 the single eye flashing happens in combat (i think when i get hit melee or range) for me even after the shader cache delete. No biggie and no rush, tho. I'm going to try later without the hit markers and see.

B33LZ

Ah man.. Sad news about Bioshock.. Does 2K still care about that old franchise? I thought they only came after Rockstar related GTA and RDR mods...

None

installed CD in the binary folder .. launch game and just nothing.. never loads. am i missing something.

RossH

After playing for 10-30 minutes or so, The Great Circle now freezes. The game does not quit, but the controls become non-responsive, and the side and back areas of the game are clipped, while the forward-facing area of the game retains full 3D. I must force-quit the game, with no error messages generated during this failure. This has happened several times now. Has any other Pimax user experienced this issue? Is this some type of issue with the Oculus workaround for Pimax OpenXR issues?

Mortis Praytock

Hi Luke and Brandon, I am loving CD with your realVR ... i finally got it tuned to something that looks pretty good and doesnt give me a headache...I do have a question though... After an hour or so of gameplay... sometimes the VR will freeze but the game continue. I am able to save the game using the flat screen while vr is frozen ... but I have to restart the game to get it to work again... is there a setting or something that might cause it to freeze after a bit of playing. ALSO... i noticed that when ever i press the start + select buttons on the xbox controller it causes an alt tab function on the desktop monitor... so the realvr console has to be pressed twice in order for it to get back up as the main window of the monitor. There are no macros or settings in STEAM controller settings, I checked and they are all empty.. so its something else that is causing Start + Select to force an "Alt Tab" to occur.... I am looking into what would cause that also. Super Fun though for sure. loving you real VR

Brandon(Post Maester)

In Windows gaming/game bar settings, you should be able to disable the controller from being able to do that. What headset are you using? Have you had any other issues with games freezing? That could be a number of possible issues. Have you tried lowering settings and resolution to free up headroom and see if it still happens? I used to have all kinds of freezing or disconnect issues with my Quest 3 using a cable until I got high speed c to c cable.

Brandon(Post Maester)

It won't work until you get a bow or something that can aim in first person. The game doesn't create a first-person camera until you can aim for some reason. Aim with a bow and you should be good to go. Hey, that rhymed :)

Brandon(Post Maester)

Yeah, Take Two is still DMCAing mods to this day 😉 No point in trying to do another one.

Mortis Praytock

I'll try the high speed C to C. I'm using quest 3.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Not that I have heard of........ Have you run the Meta App in a while to make sure it is up to date? For the Vulkan games like Indy, I have had to have the Meta App open while switching to OpenVR runtime in the REAL overlay and injecting that way. After that, Oculus runtime seemed to work. Not exactly the same issue, but you could try those two things.

Brandon(Post Maester)

You might not need one, not sure. You can run a cable test in the Link App. Mine would pass but still have freezing issues before. I tried like 4 different cables until finally grabbing a high-speed c to c one that has worked flawlessly for me for a long time now. Of course, make sure you have a c port on your system :) But again, I don't have any way of knowing for sure that is the issue either. Here is the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D79CSVNB?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2&th=1

Disco Dan

My guys there is a fellow on the discord asking about Doom DA continuing to start in flatscreen mode, even with steam input specifically enabled for the title. Any thoughts?

Disco Dan

wat about dishonored series? :D or just cause 3?

Riskyshrimp

Doom dark ages dlc trailer looks awesome. Really hoping Luke the slayer will be framework ing it in July...ps the main game has been my favorite VR game so far.

dylannn

YES IT WORKS! thank you

RossH

No update when I ran the Meta App (so, it appears I am using latest version). The freeze is very instantaneous - the game is playing very smoothly, without any issue, averaging above an impressive 70 fps. The visuals are superb, especially with this headset - wide FOV, Sony OLED colors and blacks, almost no lens reflection ghosting (my biggest issue with the MeganeX), and no geometric distortion. Suddenly, the game freezes as described previously, while Steam thinks the game is still running. I plan to try playing The Great Circle again, after I receive my Lighthouse faceplate for the Super and swap to Sboys3's driver - to enable SteamVR/Sboys3 OpenXR software environment. This software environment has been flawless for my MeganeX. The current Pimax OpenXR environment has too many issues with other games that no one else is experiencing, in games like Silent Hill f and Aphelion, as well as all REAL games.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Feel free to put a link to a RealVR64.log file here after the game freezes if you try again, or if it froze last time you played. You can also check in windows even viewer to see if it triggered anything there.

Riskyshrimp

Been playing OO7 and loving it, I have found however that when in VR the loading times seem three to four times longer than when playing flat. A bit frustrating especially when dying a lot. Never seen this in any of the other games so a bit of a mystery. Am I the only one here experiencing this. Not sure if PSVR 2 app is somehow conflicting with things or the framework is somehow?

Brandon(Post Maester)

You are running it on a NVME SSD? Plenty of space left on the drive? A quick search shows people complaining about the same thing flat 🤷‍♂️

Riskyshrimp

I'm not sure what a nvme SSD is, I'm on 5090 with high specs, plenty of space on my drive. Ive tested with VR headset on and without and loading times are much quicker without. It's a bit of a mystery. Are the loading times slow on yours?

Brandon(Post Maester)

I have barely played the game :( I haven't had much time the last couple weeks or so. Hopefully will be free to get back to VRing Wednesday 😭 I haven't noticed long loading times at all through the beginning though. I got to the part where you are in the gadget lab.

Riskyshrimp

Strange.. I had long loading right from the beginning. It might somehow be related to the other people online who are suffering from the same thing. Maybe it will get fixed in future updates hopefully. Despite this I am really enjoying the game as long as I don't die and have to reload..ha. hope you get sometime soon to yourself to play some cool games😎

RossH

Interesting. RealVR64.log does NOT exist for The Great Circle. I checked some of the recent games I played like BG3 and Last of Us Parts 1 and 2 - no RealVR64.log files either. RealVR64.log files exist for my older games, created with the pre-public release REAL versions, like Death Stranding. Could the new early_access REAL versions not include log file creation?

JESSE EDMOND CAHALL

Will games like Cyberpunk or Red Dead Redemption 2 be back with this early access model?

JshodanVR

what about Grid Legends? one of the best arcade games with a narrative career i remember

Brandon(Post Maester)

Yeah, that is really weird. It should show up in the same game folder as the other REAL files. I still get them using the current version of REAL.

RossH

Are you using a Pimax headset and Oculus OpenXR work-around?

Brandon(Post Maester)

If REAL is running/injecting, I don't see how that would matter, you should still end up with a log file.

WIG

Anticheat will be why. Online games make modding risky.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Well, it looks like someone did put out a mod for Forza Horizon 6 but it is completely at your own risk :) So, you could end up banned pretty quickly and I have no idea if it is safe to use or what the quality is like. It does exist though. If you chose to use it, it is entirely at your own risk! Don't blame me for pointing it out :) I just know a number of people really wanted to play it in VR. Mod is linked in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdRqTlneB-w VR Dad is a frequent VR video poster and I think pretty trustworthy, but no clue about the actual mod author.

theO

Arkham would be awesome! And Doom 2016! But I'm grateful for whatever comes! Thank you!!

Roman Petrov

Your VR mod doesn't work with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The game won't launch in VR — it only launches on a flat screen. What should I do? I've downloaded the latest version of your mod, but it still doesn't work. I've tried launching the game in fullscreen mode, windowed mode, and at different resolutions, but none of that helped. The game only appears on a flat screen. I'm streaming through Virtual Desktop and using a Quest 3 headset. Please do something about this. The mod works with my other games, but the problem only occurs with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Can you put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin.com and post a link to it here please? Log file will be in the same game folder as the other REAL files. Are you using VDXR in the streamer and Oculus runtime? Nevermind, looks like there was a hotfix and it broke support again :(

Darren Stoller

Even clearing the DXcache as much as I can, I still get red dots and a flash is a black screen on occasions and hand-hand fighting is nearly unplayable as the display distorts in 007 first light.

Brandon(Post Maester)

I'll check it out today :) What resolution are you playing at? Luke noted that playing at or above a certain resolution causes red dots in this game, have you tried lowering resolution to see if that helps?

Darren Stoller

Was playing at 34.5 and had everything I described above and bumped it up to 40 but no change and was the same. Not tried lowering yet as I always want more:)

Brandon(Post Maester)

Ok, I am still in the testing lab towards the beginning, so I don't know about combat, but try moving volumetric fog quality down to medium. See if that gets rid of the red dots at least. I was able to push up to 40ppd with no red dots after making that adjustment. Not sure about occasional black flashes either.

Darren Stoller

Ok I will try that. Hand to hand fighting is very nearly unplayable for me.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Why is it unplayable? I played a bit and got to a training mission. Ran around doing hand to hand and it seemed just fine on my Aero. No black screens for me either 🤷‍♂️

Darren Stoller

The problem with hand to hand only started when I was at the market in Africa. Screen flashing yellow making it hard to work out what I'm doing. A few other people have have mentioned this as well.

Martin Kartzmark

How does Crimson Desert quality of graphics compare to Death Stranding 2. I am super happy with how clear DS2 is at 40 ppd but when I first tried CD on the first release it was not nearly as good. Has that improved on the subsequent updates?

Soulhike

Is there a subpage where you can download older versions? I’d really like to download the previous versions. Obviously, only the ones that don’t support Cyberpunk or RDR2. Are they listed anywhere here? It would be brilliant if there was a menu option for that.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Still some graphical issues to contend with, especially if you are not running demanding settings like Max Lighting, RT and RR. Even then, you will still have to put up with some artifacts in certain conditions. They have yet to fix their DLSS implementation. If they could do that and fix whatever the shadow issue is with NPC's that would clear things up quite a bit for us VR users. With Max lighting and RT it can look quite good in some conditions while not as much in others. Luke did make some DLSS improvements that are far better than the first release, so might be worth trying again at this point. Still hoping for some improvements on their end though.

Martin Kartzmark

Thanks for the update. Running an rtx 5090 so can generally crank it up pretty high. You guys are great and I have bought just about every game except for CD and 007 and have not been at all disappointed.

Soulhike

Oh, thanks for the super-quick reply. That means I don't need to keep looking. ;)

Soulhike

@all - Why not give WIZ3D a go? I’ve played through Batman: Arkham City from start to finish using it, and it works surprisingly well. https://github.com/effcol/wiz3D Have a play with it for a few minutes (use the number pad to adjust the settings) and then it’ll work a treat. It’s really brilliant. I hope it's OK for me to post this here?!?!?

Dawid Kolosowski

Unfortunately, the new Indiana Jones update broke the Luke Mod. Help Us, Obi-Luke Kenobi, You're ours only hope.

VRt

There are 2 new CP mods out, 1 has hand tracking, theyre very buggy though

VRt

Im getting long loading times on M. 2 ssd

Riskyshrimp

When I played windowed flat without headset on it loaded faster so there might be some conflict going on. Still really enjoying game though, just trying not to die too often as reloading kills immersion somewhat .

neil rosson

I have the same issue. where is the discord?

neil rosson

KCD2 The crashed when i alter the PPD slider any idea why?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Well, I have discord with my ex-wife, but something tells me that is not what you are looking for 😂 What headset and how is it connected? You have Steam Input enabled? The game is running in windowed mode? You checked the game post for correct settings? No frame gen on in game or Nvidia app?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Yeah, I saw that. I hope it ends up working really well, because that game is fantastic in VR. The reality is that most other flat to VR ports take a lot longer than Luke usually does, especially if they are adding in motion controls etc. So, don't be surprised if that project takes another 6 months to a year to get running well 😉 But, who knows? Also don't be surprised if it gets shut down. Probably won't since they are just asking for donations, but I wouldn't be surprised honestly. Breath of the Wild VR took how many years.......😂

WIG

There has been a couple updates are we still good?

Brandon(Post Maester)

You can try disabling Steam Input. What headset and how is it connected?

Billy Bloggs

I have about ten hours in this mod. So far so good. I'd describe the quality as very similar to Luke's very first mods for Grand Theft ####...The lateral movement is rough but it isn't a gamebreaker in a racing game where you look ahead 90% of the time.

VRt

Is it OK to update Crimson Desert?

VRt

I put Shadows and lighting high, everything else on low, DLSS high, looks decent, shimmering still noticeable but not all the time.

WIG

Crimson desert its now on 1.11 I think

VRt

Thanks be to Luke 😀

Brandon(Post Maester)

Yup, hope it ends up working well. Still greatful to Luke for years of cyberpunk VR memories!

Gaming V.R.

There is a way to play RDR2 in PCVR. Just look it up on YouTube, but don’t rely on only one video. Watch a few different tutorials so you can compare the steps and find the method that works best.

Massimo Cannova

hey i just subscribed so i can get the early access files and I'm trying to get CD to work as i followed instructions through and ran the real config file and it worked as intended but when i launch the game normally though steam i get a black window and the game wont start up, do i need to change permissions anywhere or am i missing something? i need help :(

Brandon(Post Maester)

Make sure you look over the game post for CD and have the game settings set correctly. Frame gen has been the number one culprit for the game not starting properly in VR, so make sure it isn't on in game or Nvidia app etc. If you need to stop REAL from injecting, rename dxgi.dll to dxgi_.dll

Amethystgarbage

Now I get to the ID screen amd can briefly see the REALVR overlay, but then crashes again :(

Brandon(Post Maester)

Is frame gen on? Did you check the game post and adjust the settings for VR before running the config file?

neil rosson

I had to lower the resolution in settings to 1080 all good now.

nasa2049 nasa2049

Hi Luke and Brandon, First of all, congratulations and thank you for your incredible work. Your VR mods are truly amazing, and I especially want to thank you for what you achieved with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. I have a question that many VR fans might also be wondering about: have you ever considered creating a VR mod for Final Fantasy XVI? I searched everywhere but couldn't find any successful UEVR profiles or videos for the game. Is there a technical limitation that makes it too difficult, or is it simply a matter of time or lack of demand from the community? Personally, I would absolutely love to experience Final Fantasy XVI in VR, and I think many players would as well. Thank you again for your fantastic work and for everything you do for the VR community. Best regards, Tony

Riskyshrimp

I recommend buying an external hard drive and backing up the Game folders containing your favourite working VR games. Update the game on steam and if it breaks just delete the original game folder and replace it with the working folder. This has been a bit of a life saver over the past few months especially when Avatar broke. This method allows you to keep playing until Luke brings out a new update. I did this with Indy this morning and got a working version. Ps Indy game is fantastic..one of my favourites.

Massimo Cannova

that was the fix, your the best thanks man!

Bohdan G.

QUESTION: If I join this Patreon will I get access to the VR modification for BOND First Light? I am new to VR and Patreon. Thank you

Andrei Boruzescu

Absolutely greatful to Luke for the cyberpunk vr memories!

GHoZT

do Dying Light Beast for VR lets gooooo

Amethystgarbage

Yeah that did it! I can get into the game but it runs pretty bad, followed the guide, and with everything on low I get about 20fps and the head tracking is way off. Ive got a 7800x3d and a 5080, so I dont think its my PC.

Maemo

I would like to request that in these new frameworks, just like the old ones, we be allowed to enable ASW when we are on Oculus so it actually works. Right now, when I enable it while connected via cable, it gets blocked. In the previous framework, before the Cyberpunk issue..., it worked perfectly and a notification would appear asking if you wanted ASW to stay active or not — but now that notification no longer shows and it blocks itself. On OpenXR it’s also not suitable; the image becomes layered/striped in cutscenes, whereas on Oculus this problem never occurred. My request is to bring back the notification like before so we can choose whether to keep ASW active or not

bpatchesnet

So many people ask for Mass Effect. Lets gooooo

JshodanVR

Excuse me Luke, is it possible to add a UI toggle on/off for the games? Or alternatively, could you make it feasible to use the ReShade Shader Toggler addon (by otis), which easily hides annoying UI elements that break immersion in VR? Thanks.

Stephen Gallagher

Just got the Pimax Dream Air SLAM with the Sboys3 drivers. I must say all the hype about it is legit. It worked on your framework, didn’t have to modify anything within the LR framework files (trialed Doom Dark Ages, Elden Ring, & some Cyberpunk). If you got the coin…pixels completely disappear. But it does need a third party face cushion, but that’s an easy enough fix. The native Pimax Play drivers also aren’t as good as SBoys3, I thought they had more warping and distortion around the edges, but once tweaked its mint!

Brandon(Post Maester)

Yeah, it will be so nice when they get everything ironed out and all or at least most of the headsets can use Sboys3's driver! I was editing the distortion profile manually for my Crystal Light but then it stopped getting picked up when I had the Openport function enabled for some reason. Tried reinstalling the driver etc. but it would only pick up when the Openport function was off. No idea why it suddenly stopped picking up my headset but It is early days, so 🤷‍♂️

Stephen Gallagher

I did have to end up modifying the RealVR.ini to PreferredAPI2=2 as it was working inconsistent without that change. Yeah, software is still kind of iffy on Pimax's side, but not horrible. First time I plugged it in to update the headset bios my computer crashed, and I initially thought I bricked it, but now everything seems great. I may just create a disk image of my C: drive just in case...

realvr

Mmm, I use the Quest 3 with the Link cable and I never have any circumstances in which ASW works correctly with my mods. Do you play in Mono? If you don't, what is the scenario in which ASW offers benefits?

Maemo

Yes, I run a substantial number of graphically intensive games through Mono in order to increase both the graphics settings and resolution, thereby achieving a higher and more desirable level of visual quality. For example, with *Crimson Desert*, this configuration enables me to attain maximum quality while maintaining ASW at 45, which delivers excellent results. When operating on Quest, the setup previously functioned effectively; however, it now only supports OpenXR. Additionally, in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II*, the experience performed very well with the previous frameworks with mono +aws /quest.
