Tremors 2: Aftershocks - Patreon Version

Comments

Jon

... oooh shit, they're gonna continue the Tremors, aren't they ? :( ... - there's so many good movies proposed by people here... shame

djKENTO

I am shocked this happened… I don’t mind this. This movie was one we’d throw on at the old video store back in the day when cleaning up just for a goof. Fine. Let’s go. But please stop cuz it’s a rapid descent.

FrancescoTakesItEasy

Awesome! I bought Arrow's new 4K limited edition in December and still haven't unwrapped it. It's about time. I love Tremors, it's not high art, but the first 4 are charming, and the last three are solid direct-to-DVD stuff.

Deserana12

I’ve hit such a dry spell with their movie reactions, I’m so glad they have breaking bad on the go 😂 I know it’s just a taste thing but I’ve barely watched any of their movie reactions this year. Still love you guys tho and keep up the work!

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Haha for Simone’s question I think George is on point in that sounds like a Great Horned Owl and those birds are awesome. Also this is one of the better direct to video sequels and again shows what a loss it was of Mr Fred Ward - such a cool dude! Burt’s also a fun character in this one too! I agree that the rest decline in quality with every instalment unfortunately :(

Victor Fiegel

Sci-fi channel original movie vibes. I'll pass.

JayF

If you're that desperate for more Fred Ward then Remo Williams is fun. Also, albeit a small role for him, Thunderheart (with Val Kilmer).

JediLounger

I did not have watching this movie with you guys on my 2024 bingo card, but I am here for it.

Matthew Richson

Ah yes, a direct to video sequel worth watching.

Odd Thomas

Ooohkay. Hunger Games: Catching Fire would've been a better sequel...

Wulfric

Yet another movies series that they stared and reacted to a sequel to it when they haven't done sequels for other series like Men in Black, Home Alone, and other movies series for years. Seems to me they should do sequels for series they have started years ago before doing the sequels for movie series they have just started reacting to.

miniature

how do you know they will? they did 1 sequel cause it was proposed by many people, you can see it in the comments of the last one. but no ones asking for the third, how do you know they will continue?

miniature

im curious what would you rather they watch? like what would your suggestions be? because if, because 'this year' has been pretty varied in films, ranging from raunchy comedies to old classics to 90s action to 80s fantasy to animated movies. if none of those worked for you then im really really curious what specific genre or titles is your thing?

dieselbeast

Was hoping for x-men first class but this is disappointing more 🤦🤦 hopefully next week first class will come smh 🤦🤦🤦🤦

dieselbeast

Tremors is boring period

kbobravo

So much negativity here and my dark side is feeding off all of it. Mmmmm yes, tell me more about how you wish this were X-Men.

Deco

Wow so much negativity. They don't know how good the movie is until they watch it.

miniature

that dieselbeast guy is always like this. he only ever shows up when its something he personally doesnt like, which is fair enough, but he only ever does it in that condescending, everyone else is dumb for liking something he doesnt kind of way. its just the worst.

PeppermintWizardOfAus

miniature

i agree with a loooot of this list. but i can also see how a lot of them will still result in people saying "why this franchise and not this other one!". nothing wrong with that though, just depends on how its done i guess.

MikeBdrx

I actually enjoy all the tremors movies. They do get campy and even silly but so what? Not every movie has to be some sort of masterpiece theater production. Just have fun and enjoy it for what it is.

miniature

you should read the comments of the first video, both on YT and on here. there was a lot of requests for this. not surprising imo.

benjamin freeman

wow this was such a nice surprise i know a lot o people dont like the sequels but i really think this one holds up next to the first one.. not AS good obviously but still a really good movie.. plus more burt and earl!

Curtis Rice

I enjoyed the first three movies. I first saw these movies around 12/13.

Nathan Swapp

Tremors 4 is my favorite. It's a Western prequel that went back to basics. A lot of fun.

Prof. Writhms

KomoUpNorth

yes it's a great horned owl!!! its the most stereotypical sounding owl lol. I've got 1 or 2 in my neighborhood

Odd Thomas

It's a pigeon, Simone.

Sol-Edge

I was in the military USAF/Security Forces, if you ever try MRE's, I suggest the chicken and dumplings, it was the best one I had.

Michael Green

This (and the original Tremors) was one of my dad's favorite movies, and it made me happy to sit and watch it again. Part of the magic of movies is that they can become imbued with personal meaning based on who you watch them with. Thank you, George and Simone, for watching this silly little creature feature with us.

Lemur

Modern MREs don't taste bad, there are some exceptions though. The older versions of MREs are not great.

Ph4ZeD

Yeah I kinda agree, I know they watched this one because they got recommended it but things are starting to feel very 'flavour of the moment' in terms of whether sequels get watched or not... as a result there's so many unfinished series like Alien 3

sol stapleton

Simone that sounds like a barn own

Guy Gordon

The first four are all worth a watch. The other, more modern ones, are a bit derivative, but I still find them fun, too. But I would suggest doing the first four. They all use their budgets well and are fun and resourceful.

Jay

Lawrence of Arabia.... Europtrip..... Tremors 2........ Can't complain about a lack of variety this week:) My two cents on the whole "continuing franchises" debate, I'd just rather sequels/franchises were a relative rarity here. Like, once a month maximum. I love the Scream movies, Scream 2 might be my favourite. Would I be happy if they watched Scream 2? 100%. Are there countless other movies I'd be just as happy for them to watch, if not more? 1000%. And I can't be alone with this line of thinking - It's a bummer when they upload something you don't like. But it's worse when it's a sequel/franchise you don't like..... "Oh FFS, not another X-men movie, how many more of these are there?" Burn After Reading, To Kill a Mockingbird, Escape from New York, Event Horizon, An American Werewolf in London, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Boyz n the Hood, When Harry Met Sally, The Untouchables, Big Fish, Hunt for Wilderpeople, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Those movies are from the last 12 polls, the highest scoring from each one that has yet to be watched. That's only going back a few months, not counting all the great stand-alone movies that have scored highly before, or movies that have been recommended lots of times without ever making a poll. To all the people asking for more Hunger Games, more Scary Movie, more Home Alone, more Halloween etc., surely there's plenty of other stand-alone, oft-recommended movies you'd be just as happy to watch? Of course, G & S have the final say. I'm guessing we got Tremors 2 sharpish simply because they wanted to watch it. But that's my take on the whole franchise thing.

Ry Jo

Thanks for doing this one, This is one I grew up with I really enjoy it, yes it is not the best movie but still growing up with it just makes it better, the others are not worth it, I like the series and have seen them all but stick with the 1st two movies. yes sure maybe there are other sequels that you should do (GB2 and home alone) but this was still awesome thank you

Chase Lonnergan

I am very entertained by the fact that this comment section can easily be divided into people who enjoy watching this ridiculous and entertaining movie just because it's fun and a good time, despite it's straight-to-video quality... And people who hate fun.

Peter Moe

Just wanted to say how GOATed you are for this one. Super rare and so excited to see!!!

Persnickity

A recommendation about owl knowledge with bonus movie recommendation: Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. It is a seriously underrated animated movie. I would say on par with How to train your dragon/ Kung fu panda.

JohnB

I've only seen the first three Tremors movies. Just the other day I was looking on IMDB to see how many there were and thought about doing a Tremors marathon. Then this shows up just in time. Now I wish I knew if you were going to do the rest. If so, I'll wait.

Jon

it's not because people don't agree with your taste that they "hate fun", that doesn't make any sens 🤷🏻 those Tremors movies... I have the impression, seeing the comments, that 1/3 love it, and 2/3 think that's crap... you really think 2/3 of people here "hate fun" ? .... what about all the others comedies then ? by that logic, they'll do a terrible score on CineBinge (witch they not) 🤔..... the majority or people just don't like it. simple as that.

REDR58

There are about 4 million YouTube channels of people eating old and new MREs and eating them. Worth a watch now and then.

Poddington

You might notice the shriekers in this movie look similar to the bugs in Starship Troopers. This is because Phil Tippett was hired to make the design, but due to a change in budget they couldn't afford his design and went with a cheaper option. Then Starship Troopers needed a bug and he had one ready to go :) Such a fun movie and it did well with what it did. A subject of circumstance the sequel only happened due to the success of home video, multiple re-writes, not able to get first choice actors and leaning in on the parts that people liked alot - Burt Gummer, the horror comedy and lots of gibs.

YukoValis

Remember April 14th is Burt Gummer day. The first 2 tremors are really good. 3 is decent, and 4 is an acquired taste. After that they are just known for being bad. Entertainingly bad mind you, but still bad.

Our Patrons thought we were a myth. Well... They were MYTH taken.

🖤 Let me tell ya, MREs fuck.... SO HARD!!! You wouldn't think they would, and it's not restaurant-quality food (more like High School cafeteria LOL) but I would eat them sometimes when I worked in the oil fields (Not regularly but sometimes)... They're way better than you think. MRE is sort of a generic term, and companies also make versions of MREs for camping, SHTF preppers, etc, but the only ones I had were the military ones that come in a tan pouch. They're the gold standard of MREs AFAIK. So much food in them too for just one meal. Even drink mix. A lot of times they come with a pack of cheese spread for crackers, there's 3 different kinds: Cheddar, cheddar/jalapeno, and a third cheddar variation I can't remember, and all 3 were good but if you got a cheddar/jalapeno pack... it was gonna be a good day LOL Gourmet meal for sure if it's all you have in a wilderness setting and you don't have the time or essentials to cook something. If George, you did want to try one go to https://www.mreinfo.com/ to see the military type I'm referring to. And you can get them pretty much anywhere online, including Amazon. So many varieties as far as the "menu" goes too LOL. Worth trying once if you're curious.

AstralCars

Still hoping for the Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey and Gremlins 2 reactions. Those are such super fun sequels!

MikeBdrx

When we get hurricanes and things go south. They truck in help. We had to live off MREs for weeks. First few days it’s fun and new . By the 8 th day I’d almost rather starve lol.

Our Patrons thought we were a myth. Well... They were MYTH taken.

🖤This movie was straight to video? I liked it better than the first one. I'm not sure about the budgets for either film but this one seemed to have at least the same budget based on the final product. Usually you can tell when a sequel is straight to video but this didn't seem like one of those at all.

WastedPo

I'm a little surprised that people seem to dislike Tremors 3, while liking Tremors 2. I personally felt that of the sequels I've seen, Tremors 3 came closest to capturing the spirit of the original movie. Whereas I just found Tremors 2 to be a bit flat.

Logan Kerlee

I enjoyed watching this with you both. I've got to say that I preferred the original to this one. Mostly because this one was more actiony than suspense. lmao, yeah - Apollo 13 > Tremors 2: Aftershocks. lol, kinda funny that the original film had a budget of 10/11 million while this only had a budget of 4! lol, usually if a sequel is garbage the third and beyond is garbage tier. If everyone votes on them for some reason I'll be down to watch! Won't be disappointed if not though.

Logan Kerlee

lol, wow! That movie has a 0.7 / 10 on IMDB.. not saying that that's the bar to judge on.. but c'mon, a score THAT low.. it's a sign. :P

Astraeos

Just got back from a week in London to this amazing surprise. Props to you guys for pulling the trigger and watching this one. I'm excited to see what your guys' thoughts were on this.

Bennett Holleman

This was so much fun! Don't understand all the negative comments, G&S mine entertainment gold from everything they watch.

Spacecat44

Two Tremors, hold the Bacon please

michael denny

according to most Native American tribes owls are ill omens and harbingers of death. Not to dis your gruntle...lol

Pepe Contreras

It would be fun to continue to the fourth film (it's worth it), but many are right that other franchises/movies should have more priority.

Joseph Schiller

I feel like 3 and 4 were not that bad, but It has been a while since I have seen them. The best part of 2 is Burts whole speech about "Need to know information and being all out of ammunition"

REDR58

“Rock Paper Scissors.” Everything else is wrong.

HoneyBiscuit

Can jeeper creepers go back on the poll??

E. D.

The actress playing Kate was in one of the best Columbo episodes.

REDR58

Phew that was a rough one to get through. Way too much standing around and talking for this sort of film. Almost bailed out twice in the first 45 minutes but I powered through and the heat seekers were fun at least.

sheriffjt

One of the things I like about your channel is the fact that once you watch a movie, you then hit the sequels. Unfortunately, that means a lot of bad Tremors sequels instead of American Werewolf In London, something you would likely enjoy much more than any more of the Tremors bastardizations...

REDR58

I thought it looked pretty good and most of the effects held up. Even the very obvious CGI isn’t too bad. I don’t have any problems with dated CGI generally, though. I just felt there was a lot of dragging things out needlessly, and repetitive, talky scenes for this kind of movie.

Shpadow

Third movie is the last one I would recommend. Bail after that and you miss nothing.

Jared Winn

Probably a Barn owl. They’re native to North Carolina too and I heard them all the time when I was a kid in the woods.

Matt Rodgers

I enjoyed 3 and 4 as well. If you liked this, I'd say continue.

Tanx

little bit of trivia. the dude that gets eaten while playing the floor is lava at the start is the guy from Lost World JP2(Carter) that had his headphones on and later got stomped and dragged by the female rex. his IMDB pic is the shot of him being held up and eaten by the graboid. also the playmate centerfold was actually from 1970, they went through and picked her because she resembled the actress. Stampede still has a website with a FAQ page that is still active for questions and answers. they seriously have responses from 2023. crazy considering how long it has been since they produced something from the franchise. they were such an awesome company.

Trevor S Bright

The new creatures are actually dubbed "Shriekers" and are part of the Graboid life cycle. It does remind me of Pokemon where some Pokemon could evolve into different Pokemon, like Eevee.
