Jesse Weston

Cinderella man is incredible.

Mastervodo

Yer Killin me Smalls!

Jeff K

I would suggest watching the original Longest Yard rather than the remake, personally. It's so much better, IMO. That said, hoping Field of Dreams can pull this one out.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Field of Dreams for Burt Lancaster and the feels over father and sons. Million Dollar Baby for the acting and feels over surrogate father and daughter. Also Hilary Swank is fantastic in that film

BiaN

Sons of Anarchy is a good show for future recommendations

Patrick Egan

Some solid choices, but if there's one absolute must-watch on that list it's definitely Field Of Dreams.

Mike Stokes

I agree with Jesse - Cinderella man is an amazing film, and based on a true story. Field of dreams is a good film, but I feel it probably resonates more if you are a baseball fan

Brandon Scott

Field of dreams by a mile on this one. And with Keven Costner in mind, might I also suggest “For Love of the Game,” “The Draft” and, less-enthusiastically, “Bull Durham”.

Balmung

Wow this is just reminding me how I really dislike sports movies. Voted for a league of their own cuz that one's at least fun and informative. Same way I feel about biopics, they're just generally meh movies.

Phalanx

Some considerations for future sports movies: - Slap Shot - Goon 1&2 - The Mighty Ducks Gotta get some hockey options on there...

Shane Willis

League of Their Own is so under appreciated. Such a good movie.

WayneC

What about "Rush", the story of the 1976 F1 World Championship between James Hunt and Niki Lauda.

Danika Silva

Surprised rocky 50 isn't on here, he fights on the moon 🫣

Thaydon S

The fighter is so underrated

Matthew Manteuffel

Dang. Cinderella Man and The Fighter are the best films of the lot. They just don't have as big of name recognition.

Lyonheart86(BryonH)

need rudy back on the polls ! Field of Dreams has my vote though

Krash Koi

I recommend "Major League"

paul rai

Would definitely recommend putting Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull (1980) on a future sports/drama poll. Probably Robert de Niro’s best performance, and easily my favorite Scorsese film.

ShoNuff3000

What would make the best reaction? These are Canadians we're talking about. Million Dollar Baby, me thinks. They are all good movies.

Daniel Dreffling

Warrior from 2011 would be a good future sports movie.

Zhivko Yakimov

While I have grown out of Oliver Stone as a director, I do recommend Any Given Sunday (1999), which covers modern American football and all issues around it. Great editing and impressive cinematography, amazing use of licensed music, though the latter could be an issue for you. Speaking of football, now moving to soccer (or proper football, as I like to call it), I would add Bend It Like Beckham (2002) to the list. It is not very well known in North America, but it features a young Keira Knightley. Very entertaining, and a feel-good experience. Finally, I second suggestions that you should probably pick the original for The Longest Yard (1974) rather than the remake. The remake is fine, but the original is better. Edit: I forgot to add Mean Machine (2001), a great soccer comedy with Vinnie Jones. In fact, it reimagines The Longest Yard as well, but with soccer, rather than American football.

Jihad Lee

A league of their own or the Sandlot and I’m a happy man

Dwight Scarn

Major League with Charlie Sheen & The Original Bad News Bears are classic baseball movies

Dirge Girl

"There's no crying in baseball‽"

Big Gee

Y’all should do “Draft Day” it’s about the NFL draft day and the behind the scenes look at the business of signing players it’s a good Kevin Costner sports film imo

Sir Dongle

BASEKETBALL needs to make it onto the next sports poll

Orphan Crippler

Ooo Eurotrip again this saturday? Sounds great ;)

Josh Revell

I know you've had it recommended eleventy million times, but Rush for sure is one of the greatest motor racing films

Smooticus

For the love of god, would someone please list the 1974 original of The Longest Yard? It's far superior to the 2005 Sandler version

Presto2222

The Wrestler really deserves more love as well.

dudewheresmycar

Next time you poll sports or car movies please add Rush (2013) to the list. It's a Ron Howard movie starring Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl with a Hans Zimmer soundtrack with what I think features Zimmer's finest work with the track Lost But Won.

Aidan GL Currie

I would recommend Warrior with Tom Hardy, brilliant movie with a great story.

Roddy Hutchinson

Miracle is the greatest sports movie, Hoosiers is up there also.

Brandi Miller

If you enjoy spoofs movies. A good sports one is The Comebacks. It's not stop laughing.

Adam K

Please Million Dollar Baby! It’s not warm and sweet, but it’s a legit great movie

Rhiannon

The Replacements is a great, lesser known football movie with Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman - it's SO GOOD.

Adam Wetstein

Just remember Simone. “There is no crying in baseball “

Rhiannon

Ohhh Goon! I always forget about that one. Also Mystery, Alaska is a great hockey movie (imo, as a person who knows nothing about hockey).

Brent

Rocky IV! :)

Eddy V Ruiz II

Looking forward to the X-Men stuff, but if I had a wish for 1 movie on this list it would have to be Gremlins 2

Jeff K

Personally, I can't wait for them to get to Rocky VII: Adrian's Revenge.

Jeff K

And to be clear: the original Bad News Bears, because the remake with Billy Bob is absolute trash.

Eddy V Ruiz II

My choices from his list to toss a vote for: - American Werewolf in London (1981) - Fright Night (1985) - Pleasantville (1998) - Knives Out (2019) - Glass Onion (2022) - Paul (2011) And TV: - Blackadder - Doom Patrol and one not on his list, a one and done quicky happy WTF season between all the heavies Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency - more Frodo love

Jacob King

I’m not voting for any of these but I’m not feeling particularly negative. This isn’t my genre and I’d much rather they were grouped together. I get why people like them. Now, if Warrior had been on the list…

FWPJR.

I’ve seen all these movies except one or two, and the ones I’ve seen I love. So I think these are great picks, I just hope a baseball movie wins since the season starts this week and imo the best movies on this poll are baseball movies lol

WastedPo

Cinderella Man is trailing, but it's really a pretty good movie. (That said, I don't mind "League of Their Own" doing so well.)

FWPJR.

Heck yes, I was going to request this. I was just thinking about the Wrestler a couple days ago and how great it is. I think they’d both enjoy it very much.

Dioskur

Million Dollar Baby is by far the best movie on that list, but I am unsure if it would be good for the channel. I don't think many people would like to rewatch it. Still voted for it, because I'm a sick freak and appreciate the atom-bomb of emotions that it is

MPH

Rush.

Christina Doxstader

Sheesh, there should be an "all of the above" option. I'd go with the original The Longest Yard though. I'd also throw in The Replacements.

Happy Hanukkah

Personally, there are a very few movies here I'd want to see a reaction to, but if I had a choice of all or nothing, I'd choose nothing. YMMV, of course, and kudos for your work. (And a ditto to Eddy re Gremlins 2.)

Amar

Million Dollar baby is one of the best movies ever made. A true classic. League of their own will win though!

Phillyman!!

Another classic movie. Is Major League. Hilarious!!!

TERB!

"Heroes get remembered, but legends never die." "FOR-EV-ER"

fmcmullan

Field of Dreams and Cinderalla Man for a feel-good movie. Million Dollar Baby for a genuinely great movie. But I'd have loved to have seen Slap Shot (1977) on that list. Greatest hockey film ever made.

Joshua White

I was too young in the 80s and even the 90s to really understand how brilliant and wonderful Field of Dreams is. As a man in my forties, I can now see it as more than nostalgic wish-fulfillment and more as an existential statement about how we live out lives. 10 out of 10. Edit: Also, Kevin Costner's hair is on another level.

rycolaa

The Replacements - Football and A Knight's Tale - Jousting if sports come up again

Chris Henderson

I’m so tired reactions to a league of their own!

Charles Gaba

The original Longest Yard is a classic. The remake was...meh. You should absolutely watch Slap Shot and Bull Durham as well if you haven't already.

DM DC

I have only seen one of these on this list, and I'm not generally a fan of dramas, but A League of Their Own is such a great and wonderfully crafted film! I love that movie so much. Really happy to see it in first place I am confident that George and Simone will really enjoy it!

Cisko

I think you'd both really enjoy Bull Durahm - another baseball movie, but so much more than that too.

JBK405

The Sandlot all the way! That is a SEMINAL movie!

dieselbeast

Yay a league of their own! 😊🙏

Jesse Coombs

I think my favorite sports movie is "Hoosiers". I hope it gets added to a future poll!

Kevin R Studer

The original The Longest Yard is much better than the Sandler remake.

Brianna Williams

A League of Their Own is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time. Do yourself a favor!

Sir Dongle

Does Speed Racer count as a sports film? Cause that movie rocks!

Sir Dongle

Invincible is another good sports one about a Philadelphia underdog

Niklas Ericsson

Rush with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl, please.

mojo shivers

A League of their Own is a great film, but The Sandlot is a beloved classic that has to be seen.

Skyruff

Sports is always an interesting grouping. Help me out, which of these fall into “sports” movies: Herbie fully loaded (2005) Days of thunder (1990) Searching for Bobbie Fisher (1993) Death race (2008) I, Tonya (2017) Bring it on (2000)

Guy-on-Couch

I’d love to see reactors react to “Rudy” such a great sports film and I haven’t seen many channels with it…corner the market haha

jmundt33a

Wow! Six absolute bangers and one remake dud. Invincible is fun. Hoosiers is excellent. Rudy is by the same screenwriter and filmmakers. Of the kid fantasy baseball movies, I really like Little Big League (an update and punch up of the also fun The Kid From Left Field). But the 1990s Angels in the Outfield is a bit of fun with a LOADED cast. Even Southpaw is a good boxing flick. It’s an Antoine Fuqua look at the squared circle. For combat sports you also have Warrior and Real Steel (basically combat-droid Rocky) ALL of them are good. League of Their Own is a classic,

David Sumner

I really wanna see them watch Million Dollar Baby, just cause it's such a feel good movie.

Jason Pratt

The Replacements. Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman, Jon Favreau, Faizon, Orlando Jones, Roy from the Office

Tenn Seven

"Hoosiers" and "Tin Cup" are both great sports films. Also the most iconic scene in "Hoosiers" was an inspiration for a very funny scene in "Ted Lasso".

Simone's Minge

Would be fun to see them watch "Goon"

Lucas Justice

"Major League" and "Tin Cup" are two great sports movies to add for future polls

TGrimace

The original The Longest Yard (1974) with Burt Reynolds is significantly better than the 2005 remake....

jackthegent

need field of dreams so bad

JayF

I'm really hoping Field of Dreams pulls off a 2nd place here so they'll watch it soon.

Thomaz Chagas

Some suggestions: - Almoust Famous (2000) - written and directed by Cameron Crowe - Big Fish (2003) - Make sure Simone is hydrated before watching. - Gangs of New York (2002) - Daniel Day-Lewis and Leonardo DiCaprio - Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

mky

It seems to me that this would be the perfect time of year to watch "Hoosiers".

Sean Barbante

I love/like all of these, but I went with Field of Dreams solely to build up to one day a reactor will finally get to Eight Men Out (1988). * One-in-a-million chance though

Kevin Kuma

What a gnarly line-up.

Dee

This is an insane selection. I had a difficult time picking one

mky

If you're ever in the mood for a [spoiler] [spoiler] [spoiler], there's "Brian's Song".

BubblyRainbows

I want to see "Mystery, Alaska" on a reaction channel someday. Might be my favorite sports movie ever. Also, did they do "The Replacements" yet on the channel?

mky

"Field of Dreams" is pretty much a perfect movie.

pedantech

As someone that doesn't really like sports, I really like Any Given Sunday because of Al Pacino. Love that guy. And the rest of the movie is well done too.

Amar

I thought Rush would have been one of the priorities after how much they loved Ford v Ferrari.

Lyle Morgan

Major League, The Natural, and Hoosiers should be on the list.

Gryff

The Replacements for future sports lists. Its a fun football movie with Keanu

Onikaze

just mentioning Legend from Tom Cruise, Tim Curry, Mia Farrow and Ridley Scott. I'm hoping it will get there through repetition if not on its own merits. As far as sports movies go, hockey, for Canadiens, might be apropos, so how about Slapshot and Youngblood. first has Newman while the second has Rob Lowe , Patrick Swayze and an early appearance by Keanu. This is, of course, assuming that these weren't compulsory viewing before high school graduation for Canadiens. :P

JayF

Other sports movies to consider - Radio (2003, Simone may fully fall in love with Ed Harris from this one), The Longest Yard (1974, this original is better and a Burt Reynolds is the lead film reaction is long overdue for you two), Miracle (2004, hockey film so you won't be totally lost), The Bad News Bears (1976, was the inspiration for films like The Sandlot), The Jericho Mile (1979, made for TV but has a 7.1 IMDB rating), Brian's Song (1971, made for TV but has a 7.5 IMDB rating), Bull Durham (1988, same thing I said about Ed Harris above applies to Kevin Costner here), Hoosiers (1986), 42 (2013), Invictus (2009), Victory (1981, a Stallone soccer film. Yeah you read that right.)

NareikAC

Has to be the longest yard, the rest suck

Maarten Martens

I was expecting Million Dollar Baby to be firmly on top, but I'm happy to see some others take the lead, as I haven't seen them yet. That's one of the things that makes this patreon such a nice place.

Nicholas Jensen

Great selection here, it will be tough to pick a bad one. Personally, Million Dollar Baby should be watched for sure, it is such a great movie!

Clint Farley

For future sports polls I'd like to toss out 2011's Warrior.

Ian

MikeBdrx

Ok I’m just gonna throw out a suggestion to the most ridiculous movie I can think of to see if it ever gets on a poll or watched. Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead

Chase Schleich

Come on people. No way an Adam Sandler remake is beating Million Dollar Baby, possibly Clint Eastwood's best film as a director. A League of Their Own, I get it, that's a tough race, but it's gotta be between those two.

Tomas Gaspar

People might want to have something light hearted now and then...not something heavy and depressing as this one.

Chase Schleich

Would love for them to watch Gangs of New York. I was surprised they didn't watch it soon after There Will Be Blood after they loved Daniel Day Lewis's performance so much.

JoeE

Would recommend kingpin, slap shot and bad news bears

Wayne Miller

I like all of these, especially field of dreams, thank you.

sarCC

Goon!

Seahag

Not a big fan of a League of Their Own, but Sandlot will probably be close enough to get watched too, so it’s all good for me.

simon brouillard

Nice poll, just rewatched last action hero, a poll idea that could be fun, Arnolds leftover😉 also, have you guys saw pumping iron, I know its a documentary but its glorious

John

This is a great poll, three baseball movies I would suggest that have already been mentioned are: The Natural, Major League, and Eight Men Out.

sheriffjt

If you feel like you need to watch The Longest Yard, for the love of God watch the original, not the Adam Sandler remake.

sheriffjt

Light-hearted sure, but why not the original? The Longest Yard (1976) has a 76% from Rotten Tomatoes, the remake a 31%....

Patrick

God ii hope the sandlot wins. That movie is so wholesome and funny. It transitions generations and cultures. I couldn't even call it a sports movie honestly.

Happy Hanukkah

Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind when I watched it, but I'm almost tempted to spoil the movie to avoid a reaction. :-) It certainly does have its supporters, Lord know why! :-)

Happy Hanukkah

Keanu Reeves? Gene Hackman? I've never heard of them. But assuming you mean the movie featuring Jon Favreau, I enthusiastically second.

James Falato

Million Dollar Baby is one of the Most Powerful Boxing Films Ever Made... A League of Their Own and Cinderella Man are Based On Actual People/True Stories and Well Worth Reacting To... Field of Dreams is a Baseball Film that is Purely Heart-Warming...

Prof. Writhms

"The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings" (1976) Baseball movie, starring James Earl Jones, Billie Dee Williams and Richard Pryor

Justin Frechette

I would love to see a reaction to a great lost movie called Toy Soldiers. Sean Astin and Wil Wheaton. A group of troublemaking boys decide to take a stand when terrorists seize control of their boarding school. It's a great one most have forgotten.

BangDroid

Some of these should not be bothered with, for the same reason as omitting the remaining Tremors franchise from this list; the first 2 are enough.

Dee

Voting for all of them would null my votes. Lol

REDR58

I’d generally recommend avoiding Adam Sandler at every opportunity.

REDR58

Hoosiers needs to be on the next sports movie poll, for sure.

idrinkthere4iam

Hope The Fighter gets a chance in another poll. Lot of good choices this week.

sheriffjt

Forgot the Friday the 13th films, hoping we see those revisited come Halloween. That being said, there are definitely quite a few on that list I could do without, but I imagine we couldn't get much agreement on those across all patrons...

Odavin

The World's Fastest Indian (2005)

Jonathan M.

Major league, miracle, Rudy, the Iron claw, Friday night lights, 42. There are so many great sports movies. Hopefully we'll see some of these on the next poll

Robiks

If it's a sports movie list, Rush has to be on there

Spacedone

I was just about to say the same thing. The Burt Reynold original is great. Also, Slap Shot would been perfect for this.

j c

As many other people have asked over the years, in the recent AMAs, etc: Rush (2013). It's a sports movie. Please add it.

Spacedone

Since it's technically a sports film, since it inspired an actual sport, I'm going to throw Salute of the Juggers into the hat.

Michael Johnson

Miracle is a good one. A quick says you haven't watched it yet

Kangdarius

Not the hugest fan of any of these. Just glad field of dreams not winning lol

Scott G

It's clearly not going to win but I really love Million Dollar Baby.

Alex Ch

I think the Burt Reynolds comedy Smokey and the Bandit would do well.

sol stapleton

For a TV recommendation inside number 9.

Mycenaeus .

I, Tonya (2017) may be my favorite sports related film. I should also recommend some racing movies, e.g. The Gumball Rally (1976), The Love Bug (1969), Monte Carlo or Bust (1969), Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965), or Ben Hur (1959); and It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963).

Sir Dongle

Gotta recommend Water Boy as well!

Beddoe

I agree, go with the original The Longest Yard (1974), and hopefully Slap Shot for the next Sports poll.

Odd Thomas

I'm happy with League but it's a shame Cinderella Man isn't doing better. Have people not seen it? It's great!

Darin Foat

I'm voting for Field of Dreams because I enjoy watching you guys cry. :)

Odd Thomas

My weekly request for Sunshine (2007). Sci-fi with Cillian Murphy and Michelle Yeoh.

Deco

Cool runnings would be great

ExtraBigAssTaco

The Replacements, and Necessary Roughness are fun football movies.

John

As you prepare a poll for a new TV show (assuming you are continuing the light and heavy alternating model). I would recommend these for the light/shorter TV shows (Archer seasons 1-4), Happy Endings, Brooklyn 99, and The Good Place,

Terdell Ferguson

Love me some League of Their Own (LOVE IT), but for all that once was good and it could be again, Field of Dreams for the win.

Actuarial Lurker

Slapshot and Rollerball should have been on there

Jay Davis

Perfectly happy to see League of Their Own steal home (ha!) here... but I'ma put in with Field of Dreams. Though, frankly, I'd like to have seen The Natural on this list. Feels like a swing and a miss (ah ha ha!) to me. Sorry. Sorry. I'll see myself... Out!

Happy Hanukkah

Some fine movies in the poll and the comments. I'll add Oscar-winner Chariots of Fire (1981). [Cue Vangelis.]

Sharla Beverly

I think you guys will love Field of Dreams and A League of their own. I have a few othe sports movies to recommend for the next time sports movies come up: Invincible, The Replacements and Warrior. Enjoy 😉

graham scott

warrior is a fantastic movie, u willl love it

Young Blood Priest

I went Million Dollar Baby and A League of their Own. I have to be honest tho…no Raging Bull or Juwanna Mann? 😞

shaneth138

The three best movies on this list by far came in last 🤦🏻

Mykel

Field of Dreams makes me cry every time.

Drew Acheson

I can't recall if I've said this already but I'd like to suggest Roxanne starring Steve Martin as a comedy movie you should watch.

Michael Buhl

If you haven't watched Raging Bull, Slap Shot, or Happy Gilmore, those could go on the next sports poll.

Jeff K

George and Simone, I am REALLY hoping that, eventually, you'll just decide to watch Field of Dreams. It seems like it's just never gonna win a poll. You don't need to be a baseball fan to enjoy it, because baseball is just kinda the backdrop. Yes, it's romantic about baseball. But there are much bigger, broader themes that make it a classic. And I guarantee you'll both shed some happy tears while watching it, because it's a fucking beautiful film.

Jeff K

It's an excellent movie, for sure. One of my favorite Russell Crowe performances. And Giamatti, as always, is fantastic.

Wesley Lara

Seeing as it's new, it might be a bit before it's recommended, but The Iron Claw is among the best and maybe saddest sports movies ever made. Hope yall catch it eventually!

Dwight Scarn

Billy Bob I thought was perfect for the role and had his moments but the movie was a disappointment. They made Kelly a caveman.

AstralCars

We as a society are failing our children when we can’t get Field of Dreams to win in a sports movie reaction poll! 😭

An Inanimate Fucking Object

Damn, disappointed The Fighter and Million Dollar Baby aren’t faring better. As others have said, The Replacements would be another good addition to the list

Martin

Disappointing results to this one so far. Million Dollar Baby and Cinderella Man are both great movies.

Tenn Seven

"The Wrestler" would also be a good sports movie for future polls. Marisa Tomei puts in an amazing performance, as usual.

Tenn Seven

I've never seen "Cinderella Man", but "Million Dollar Baby" is my top pick in this list, for sure (Field of Dreams and Sandlot are both amazing as well).

Tenn Seven

That movie is just good fun, and it's great seeing Jon Favreau in stuff before he became a big-time director (he's also great in the comedy "PCU" if you haven't seen it).

JayF

Yeap. Looks like Field of Dreams is going to have to end up being a pick G&S make on their own which is unfortunate. Like others have said, baseball is just the setting for the story. It's about much bigger themes. I know you'll both love it.

Jeff K

I liken it to Jerry Maguire. Yes, it's set around a specific sport, and obviously, there would be some references they'd miss. But that's not really what the movie is about. And hell, they both loved Moneyball, which is about the most baseball-intensive baseball movie ever made. I feel very, very confident they would absolutely ADORE Field of Dreams.

John

I think Field of Dreams would be great, though I voted for the Sandlot and a League of Their Own. The best sports movies use sports as a vehicle to explore larger themes. Rocky is a boxing movie, but it is really about personal growth and human connection.

Wrencher86

I am absolutely allergic to sentimentality and nostalgia, specifically around sports, so the top three here don't do a lot for me. Not that they're bad films, I just don't get much out of them. Now Million Dollar Baby... I can't recommend strongly enough. Fantastic performances from everyone involved. And it's a movie you will remember for a very long time afterwards. I would probably put it in the same ballpark (HA! Puns!) as The Green Mile in terms of emotional impact.

Connor Macarty

A league of their own leading this is CRIMINAL CMON PEOPLE

Alex Ch

Actually, what if the greatest sports movie ever is Bull Durham?

YYZHawk

Cinderella Man such a good film, sad it will never see the light of day here lol

tundra

"Flash Ah-ah Saviour of the universe!" Flash Gordon please.

Curious

Million Dollar Baby is probably the best movie on this list, Clint Eastwood at the height of his powers as a director (if not quite so inspired as his earlier work). But if you're looking for emotional response (and we are), I'd have to go with "Field of Dreams". There's a lot about it that I don't like (some pretty simpleminded moral dilemmas that normally don't make for good story), but it's very affecting. And the end is a gut punch.

Curious

As far as "The Longest Yard" goes, 100% replace the 2005 version starring Adam Sandler with the 1974 version starring Burt Reynolds. The 2005 version has some good parts, but the 1974 version is just a perfect time capsule: Burt Reynolds just after he entered stardom but before he became a caricature of himself (in a performance that leverages his charisma, his comedic timing, and his not inconsiderable acting ability), a car chase from the golden era of car movies (exactly that same era that Quentin Tarantino paid homage to in Death Proof), really great character actors (rather than names designed to promote box office) in all the parts, just enough genuine moral ambiguity to make the story work, post-Vietnam skepticism about the establishment, gritty cinematography, characters with totally plausible but unique motivations. The 1974 version was just a unique experience, unduplicable. (BTW, it was the movie that producer Albert Ruddy got to do as his dream project once "The Godfather", which he also produced, gave him the keys to the kingdom). Compared to the 1974 version, the 2005 version is hackneyed and obvious. Even with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock (both of whom can be hysterical), it's not as funny. Come to think of it... where on the poll is "Slapshot" (1977), a brilliant, absolutely hysterical feminist lampoon (albeit one with warm feelings for its subject) of sports culture commonly confused for just a regular sports film? Paul Newman was brilliant in that as was a young Lindsay Crouse. And it starred the recently deceased M. Emmett Walsh. It was written by Nancy Dowd, who won the best screenplay Oscar for Coming Home the year after it came out and it contains some of the greatest, most hysterically, most appropriate (for its characters) lewd dialogue ever written.

Spacecat44

Absolutely seconded on watching the original version of The Longest Yard, and not Sandler's borderline insulting remake. The original is miles better

Simon Pegged Me

They are fun. Honestly, I didn't want to like either of them: They're so cliché—same predictable setup as other sports movies, same predictable outcome—and yet, I love them both and watch them if they're on when I'm channel surfing. They'd be great to react to.

Simon Pegged Me

Water Boy?! I think something is wrong with your medulla oblongata, AND because these things don't always come across on Internet comment sections, I am teasingly agreeing with you. Water Boy would be a great movie to react to. Kathy Bates is awesome in it.

GBmain

Couple really good movies on here, but disappointed Rush (2013) isn't on this list

Rachel W

Gotta get some Tennessee Williams on these polls! I don't think they've reacted to any TW. -"Streetcar Named Desire"(1951)

Stephanie Bedworth

I made my choices and I'm happy with them but I'd like to mention that The Wrestler would have been good one for this poll.

Benjamin-Ian Astley-schaack

2005 longest yard is my comfort movie. Love to watch it but there are certainly better films on this list

Paul T Hewes

Bull Durham is shows a what a pit Minor league baseball is/was...

Lyonheart86(BryonH)

ill never understand the popularity of a league of their own ... there is one popular noted line in the whole film ... the rest of the film was lack luster to me .. just my opinion though . I would also reccomend GridIron Gang to the suggestion box . There are some good moral lessons in it too

UnusedDogSlice

Hope I guys react to the baseball movies soon as u can bc opening day starts this Thursday!!🙏🙏

Sevnthdragon

Just a thought, have you two characters considered bingeing say cinematics from overwatch or the created cinematic “movie” from the Star Wars games? Just curious

Kyle B

I got dragged to A League of Their Own as an 11yr old boy, hating my parents for making me watch a movie about girls. I walked out of the theater that night with a new favorite movie, that has remained one of my favorites to this day.

sheriffjt

"It transitions generations and cultures" I mean, only if you weren't an adult in the 90's. I feel like the people who love this movie are mostly the people who saw it as children.

Patrick

I appreciate your opinion, but I disagree. The theme of boys wanting that slightly older and mature girl, being scared of your neighbor who you don't really know, trying to fit in with s new crowd..it's a coming of age movie. There's nothing special about it, but it is relatable and fun.

JC

Warrior starring Tom Hardy needs to be on this list!

CD

As DJT might say: we just need to "find"... 15 more votes!

Brandon Meng

The Sandlot is basically the quintessential 90s kid Americana film and nothing tops it for me in terms of nostalgia. A League of Their Own is also my second choice so this poll is pretty much perfect for me right now, whew. For future polling consideration: PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER (drama) Manchester by the Sea (drama) Forgetting Sarah Marshall (comedy) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (drama) Sideways (dramedy) Eyes Wide Shut (??)

Bjartur Egilsson

This list really misses Rush (2013) a true story f1 movie with Daniel Brühl and Chris Hemsworth. The best car racing movie ever. Another great sport movie also built on true story is 42

Jesse Coombs

My favorite sports movie is "Hoosiers". Beyond that, "Friday Night Lights" is my favorite sports TV show. (It's amazing.)

Christian Truheoh

"In all the history of the boxing game you find no human interest story to compare with the life narrative of James J. Braddock". The opening statement of Cinderella Man. Pretty bummed it's in last place.

8bitAndy

Miracle would have fit nicely on this poll but these are all great choices. I feel like Sandlot hits harder if you're a 90s kid who grew up playing baseball, which I'm guessing neither of you are, so I'm hoping A League of Their Own wins this one. Cinderella Man needs more love, tho.

Rob Church

The Sandlot is just the best, You don't have to know anything about baseball to enjoy it too.

Henry Sanchez

Week 2 of hoping Blindspotting (2018) Makes it to a poll

Jihad Lee

The Sandlot and A League of Their Own being separated by less than 10 votes is so beautiful. So I know we are gonna get both movies in back to back weeks!!!!

zak

For future sports polls, Warrior and Iron Claw would be great additions

Guy-on-Couch

I hope you do Field of Dreams and Cinderella Man eventually...

Hamesque

No Bloodsport?!? It has sport right in the title!

MikeBdrx

I been waiting on Blood Sport or Kick Boxer. Hell id even settle for Missing in Action!

Calvin

The Color of Money

E. D.

Dark is a splendid mystery series. 26 episodes

Wuju

Would love to see you react to the following: The Menu (2023) Godzilla Minus One (2023) Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) Action Gattaca (1997) Sci-fi Minority Report (2002) Sci-Fi Action The Island (2005) Action Day After Tomorrow (2004) Sci-fi Moonfall (2022) The Island and Day After Tomorrow are guilty pleasures (I know not the greatest, but fun movies). Moonfall would have to be a Cinecringe.

Sir Dongle

My Mama says you is the Devil for replying, but what Mama doesn't know won't hurt her shh

soup3097

Sandlot needs to pull away

DamnitBlueWasOld

Miracle is fantastic. Although a couple of Canadians might not appreciate the whole “no NHL’ers” aspect. Then again George and Simone don’t strike me as super aware of the intricacies of international hockey.

Spence Lee

I think that The Talented Mr Ripley should make your next poll!

Kangdarius

I don’t dislike it. Just will nvr be in the mood to watch it again. Kinda how I feel about most Kevin Costner movies.

Villa Lobos

Since you’ve watched Ted Lasso and it’s about to start I’d add Major League to this list for next time.

Wesley Lara

Wait, which one won the poll? I can't see the exact votes for the films, so it just says 21% for the two films

REDR58

Sorry, “The Sandlot” with 878 votes. “A League of Their Own” is in second with 866.

Wesley Lara

How do you see the votes for each individual choice? I only see the total votes for everything as a whole.

miniature

i think if you didnt vote you for some reason dont see it. its one of the flaws of patreon itself. but since this poll has ended, you wont be able to vote. but on monday a new poll will come as they usually do, and you will have like 4 days to vote, allowing you to see the exact numbers.

miniature

do you see a blue check mark next to the options you voted for? maybe the vote didnt stick cause patreon sometimes does that, it can be buggy. if you see a blue check mark then you should see some numbers in the same row, if not then... i dunno, visual bug? prob best to email patreon support for a reason.

David Zabel

I sure hope so. I voted for ALOTO and to lose out by only 12 votes you almost have to watch that one too.

Jihad Lee

They usually always do 2 on the poll especially if it’s separated by very few votes

Kelly Pickard

Not sports movies, but do we know if Simone and George have seen the early 90s Addams Family movies? Highly recommend, if they haven't.

Eric Hernandez

Once again disappointed that Field of Dreams didn't win so I'll just have to wait until you get around to it eventually. All deserving of being watched, of course, so can't complain with both The Sandlot and A League of Their Own garnering more votes. Look forward to seeing all the reactions!

FischerMax98

Was hoping A League Of Their Own would win, but The Sandlot is fantastic also.

Colin Reid

Eddie the Eagle. Great movie. True story.

BlueTrane

Cinderella Man is so good. Sorry it didn't poll better.

RipTheRipper

First day reporting...so late to this poll but I'm very lucky that my would have been choice won...very much looking forward to The Sandlot reaction...such a wonderful movie and very nostalgic to me as I grew up in the era of actually going to the Sandlot to play ball w my neighborhood buddies..

Alex Laime

IMO Field of Dreams is the best of these. Great movie.
