I never noticed it until you said it, but you're right that it's a surprisingly kind movie. There's no "Bad Guy" who's trying to stop Scotty because he wants to get Mieke first, or even just for the hell of it. There's no bizarrely-fixated government official trying to get them deported back to the USA, either. It's just four friends having an adventure, and any problems they encounter are localized and based on misunderstandings and their individual actions.

While watching this i remebered the movie Hooligans (Green Street Hooligans) with Elijah Wood. I hope you watch this eventually.

I couldn’t stand that dude and dismissed him as a David Spade wannabe when I first saw this… and then he did The Pacific and Justified and was awesome in both and now I love whenever he pops up in anything.

I still consider this movie to have the most random and funniest Matt Damon cameo. The way he turns up here with that killer and fitting “Scotty Doesn’t Know” earworm still makes me smile today.

I was so confused by the Deadpool 2 thing and was sure you were confusing him with Pitt until I remembered oh, right… Damon and Alan Tudyk had a quick (heavy on the makeup) cameo together.

The more I think about it, Damon's really had a bunch of funny cameos between this, Deadpool, Thor Ragnarok, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

I remember even back then Matt Damon’s cameo was such a surprise. Scotty Doesn’t Know was such a popular song to play as well. It was far better than this movie deserved haha

Yeah. I always think of Damon as someone who is always up for a cameo—at least way more than your average Hollywood leading man. I can just picture him to be the type to do it for almost nothing and just for the giggles.

I totally forgot she was in that. Trachtenberg, not Simone, of course. Also: 17 Again is far better than it has any right to be. It helps that it's got people like Tom Lennon filling out the supporting cast.

I'm so glad this got watched and that you guys enjoyed it so much. It was one of my absolute favorite comedies when it came out (I was 21, so, appropriately on-brand lol), and I hadn't revisited it in a very long time! This was so fun :D

Interesting. I’d never seen this. I guess it lived in my conscious, as a Vacation-type rip-off. After having a peek at a synopsis…I decided it was a film, I likely wouldn’t watch on its own; and…didn’t really need to watch, to check out the reaction. Ah; not a Vacation rip-off. An American Pie rip-off, lol; but, seemingly…a little funnier, IMO, because it’s a little less “crass”. Only weighing in, because I want to remind the 677 Patreons…who voted for the more high-brow humor, of Burn After Reading; to be vigilant about G&S coming back to it…for its quite-respectable, 2nd place finish!

This film works because it's so ridiculous that nobody from any country could take it seriously and be offended 😁 I as a German found only the German kid a bit unoriginal. There is so much potential in German clichés but they picked the lowest hanging fruit and it wasn't even anything clever. But otherwise, great movie! 😃 If you like these movies, please please please you need to watch Beerfest! It's from the Super Troopers Guys and it's similarly ridiculous as Eurotrip and funny as hell. Also American actors (like Will Forte) playing Germans which is actually pretty hilarious 😄

Just realized I left my YouTube comment about missing the early release on this video due to my health situation, but the video hasn’t even been released that long. Meaning: I guess I didn’t exactly miss the early release on patreon due to my surgery, but I instead missed the INITIAL release of it by a number of hours lol. Regardless, my comment still stands: I love you guys, and I appreciate you a whole hell of a lot for the joy that you two and this community bring to myself and many others.
