Am I the only one who plays a little game with myself where I try to predict the thumbnail? Like for this one, I was thinking it might be the "I want to see the real Raven" scene/meme, with George in bed as Mystique and Simone as Magneto. Also, a friendly reminder and nudge: please make sure you include Days of Future Past in the run-up to Deadpool and Wolverine. It's arguably the most important X-Men film, in terms of the timeline. It's also just really, really good.

Thank you so much for rewatching Logan

Haha my mini-game is how much will I crack up at what it ends up being. Always love the creativity

2026-09-14 06:00 Will you be going through all of the old Fox superhero films? Like Daredevil, Elektra, Blade, Punisher and Fantastic 4?

Origins is the equivalent of an elseworld. So far as I can tell, Frost’s sister doesn’t exist in this trilogy.

Re: Your question about comic "accuracy", this is an original story and none of the family relationships were there in the comics. Mystique is not Xavier's adopted sister, and is actually not even very associated with Magneto at all. Despite being an integral part of Magneto's gang in every movie, in the comics Mystique is her own player with only occasional team-ups as their goals happen to align. I really enjoyed this film when I first saw it, especially the exaggerated aesthetic that made it seem like a Bond movie at times (The submarine lair was SPECTRE through and through). But over time I've grown disappointed with the way they set up all of the larger conflicts. Erik's hatred for humanity due to what he experienced makes less sense when it turns out that it was a mutant behind it the whole time. Nobody brings that up. It could have easily been "Erik, the man who killed your mother is a mutant", "yes, but he was put in power by humans!" when he and Charles are arguing over what will happen to them. The idea that it was Shaw who instigated the entire Cuban Missile Crisis undercuts the "Humanity will destroy itself!" and "Humanity is always going to choose violence" points. With that reveal it turns out that humans are actually NOT short-sighted and self-destructive people who need to be wiped out to make room for mutants. What they SHOULD have done was have the Cuban Missile Crisis play out exactly as it did in real-life as a BACKDROP to the main story, so as it goes on Erik can say "See what they are?" and when when it resolves itself peacefully Charles can say it right back. Let it serve as a metaphor for their opposing viewpoints. I still enjoyed it, but I think it could have been MORE.

Yeah, the continuity doesn’t make much sense across most of these. Like, Havoc is Scott’s brother, but in Origins that timeline doesn’t make sense at all with any of the X-Men movies. So it’s best to just go with it.

Hope you will watch 'Days of Future Past' too. It's the basically the best X-Men movie.

Jeff K.

It's definitely very good, and it's very important to the timeline of the combined X-Men cinematic franchise. And given they're watching these to prep for Deadpool and Wolverine, Wolverine is the central character so it's a pretty important one in that regard as well.

proVaxxer

I love the scene where Magneto turns the satellite dish. The music, acting, and editing come together to make such fantastic cinema. But no, just talk over it with random superpower nerd speculation. That's good too. Why react to a movie during a movie reaction when you can do your own little podcast instead?

Anamondaris

There are so many scenes in the movies coming up I can’t wait to see your reactions to! Of course culminating in the Logan rewatch which I know Simone will love💜

Happy Hanukkah

I know, right? George and Simone, please confine your comments to "Wow!" and "Kewl!", especially when you are afforded the privilege of watching one of the most esteemed scenes of modern cinema! I don't pay you guys and come here to have you distract me from the movie!

Nathan Jasper

I never thought of it that way, that's a very good point!

Nathan Jasper

I would love a Blade trilogy watchthrough! And Fantastic Four was actually really good, that and Ben affleck's Daredevil wasn't any wackier than any of Tobey's Spider-Man movies.

Shiby23

I accidentally subbed for a 2nd month. Please make it worth my while :D around 23 minutes, can you just delete memories as Proffessor X. He manipulated Jean in that Xmen Last Stand movie. Ponder on that whether its because she's a mutant or her past trauma from upcoming stuffs.

Jordan Barnes

Killing Darwin right out the gate made me so mad and still does.

Jeff K.

@Happy Hanukkah - Right? I can’t stand reaction channels that are basically just the Chris Farley Show on SNL, where they’re like “Oh wow!” and just repeat lines that they just heard or say “Did you see how that person just did a thing?” without adding literally anything to the experience. George and Simone’s commentary, while they sometimes talk over things, is 100% why they are without question my favorite reactors. They actually think about and discuss what they’re seeing. God forbid.

AinTunez

Basically, X-Men Origins Wolverine is now non-canon. Some of the major events still happened, but the Emma Frost from that film is not the same character as you see here. Same goes with Stryker and some other returning characters.

Tom M

My fav demonstration of Eric’s powers is the Argentina scene when he controls the knife.

rictus grin

one of the better X-men movies but the all time best is Logan

Adam Wetstein

xavier is the christian while eric is the Jew and this is the XMEN version of the merchant of Venice

overdev

as a native german Im really impressed by Michael Fassbenders speaking german, he did it also in a few other movies, he almost sounds native, there is a slight accent but other than that wow, Kevin Bacon on the other hand has a really really strong accent but you can understand him pretty well.

darkmoobs

Fassbender was born in Germany and his father is German. Moved to Ireland when he was 2.

BoredLittleLady

I hope you guys are enjoying the X-Men movies. I grew up with them and to me they are great, fun stories about fantastical people. If after binging all these movies, you still like the x-men, I would sincerely recommend the animated series. To watch at your own pace. No need to binge everything.

Ginger

I liked that they pointed out his accent in Inglourious Bastards, though. ^^ Have you seen the Clip of Sandra Bullock giving a german Speech at the Bambi? No accent at all, except a slight bavarian dialect. And of course seeing Ludger Pistor randomly appear in a big hollywood film is always fun. :D

MeetMountain

I still think you need to do apocalypse
