Well isn't this a pleasant surprise.

Love a good tier list - I don't even care what it's about it's just a fun format

Gonna put it out there and suggest an October scary movies list called Tiers for Fears lol. … Anyway, fun list - definitely think Wolverine would win a battle royale but get bottom place in a high pitch note competition to Danny Zuko lol

I'd say Walt (of Gran Torino) did have positive change. He was a Korean War vet who saw anyone that looked remotely Korean in his eyes as evil people because of his experience in the war and came to the realization that every race has good and bad people and even gave his life for his Hmong neighbors when at the beginning he hated them and wanted them to leave. If I were to put beginning Walt (of Gran Torino) at the end of the film, I don't think he would have cared and just chalked it up to "gooks killing other gooks". So yeah he's an unpleasant man but he did positively change I think. In defense of Danny Zuko, sweaters are itchy, leather jackets are awesome. Henceforth, Citizen Kane shall now be referred to as Chuck Kane. How much wood would Chuck Kane chuck if Chuck Kane could chuck wood?

Jeff K.

I agree with you on Walt. He was still an asshole but as Simone said, he was starting to make some positive growth and, while he still said bigoted stuff, his eyes were slowly being opened. Had his story continued, I think he would have continued to change.

Go on, take my upvote.

Chuckie Kane - the less successful relative somewhere out there haha

I think the Pineapple Express guys had positive change, believe it or not. Dale, in particular. By the end, he'd realized that it maybe wasn't a good idea for a 25 year old to be dating a high school girl. He'd also been a dick to Saul and was basically just using him for weed and didn't consider him a friend. By the end, they came to genuinely care about each other. They're still just gonna get stoned out of their minds every day, but a real friendship did blossom. It's a small change, but it's a positive one. Danny and Sandy also both had positive change, for me, because they realized that they didn't NEED to change for someone else. But also, they realized who gives a shit what other people think? Be with someone who makes you happy and if your friends can't understand that, so be it. Also, while Atticus himself didn't change, I do think you could easily argue he changed others around him. He made a positive impact on almost everyone he came into contact with, and helped his children understand the realities of the world around him and what it means to do the right thing no matter what.

How about rating just how much each one effected you. Maybe use Aristotle’s three “E”s (yes George, when translated to English). How much did each show Entertain, Enlighten, or provide an Epiphany? Examples of high level of each might be Deadpool, Band of Brothers, and 12 Angry Men.

Nathan Jasper: instead of Rosebud, Chuck E. Kane whispers, "pizza mouse..." Or maybe, "ballpit..."

Walt didn't change at all. A highly principled man with low patience of others. He did change others.

@42:45: Simone: "The whole losing your memory when all you've ever felt is like, pain and grief is... maybe a positive thing?" - Immediately I think back to 'Eternal Sunshine' :D

we measure life and progress in inches not miles (kilometers for non US ;)) I think positive growth doesn't necessarily have to be a full personality transformation, but simply being a better person than you were before your changed experience. This may inspire others to change, but the catalyst was still your development

Simone & George having almost no recollection to This Is The End is to not surprise, if you know you know 🤨

George and Simone, you two are priceless. :)

A plot that involves all these characters? That's tough, but I think it would center around Kane, Judah would be an ancestor and somehow that would come into into play, (maybe he's secretly a mutant) but Atticus would be litigator in a case against him and Daniel Craig an investigator in the case with help from Lizbeth, and it has something to do with secret tests involving Wolverine, who is actually a descendant of Hugh Glass, who was also a mutant (I mean, who's that tough, right?), and who is also Hutch's great great great..., and the investigation centers around a university where Frank and Mitch live, and it's stoned on weed she bought from Saul at one their parties where the college aged offspring of tight pants and Travolta begins to put the pieces together but it's only after she talks with her loser friiends Dante and Randall at the Quick Stop, that she puts it all together and somehow links the story to the Arcane characters who I'm not really familiar with. I don't know, I'm stoned and it's 5 am, best I could do lol Shit I forgot about Walt and Babadook, okay they live in the same neighborhood as Mitch, and the Babadook is actually an interdimensional being, and in a post credit scene we see that Dr. Strange will be in the sequel. Oh and it was all because Kane was seeking a way to cheat death, his minions discovered Logan, someone who served with him and saw his healing power. And the experiments he funded lead to both Captain America and the Weapon X program.

For me, Danny did change at the end of Grease. Sure, he looked the same, but emotionally, he went from a guy who put on a tough image in front of his friends, pretending he didn't care about Sandy, to someone at the end who told his friends he loved her. It was clear at the end he had learned not to care what they think or let them dictate how he should behave. I feel like removing the jacket was part of the dance, but also so that he matched Sandy's new look. I think that was done for synergy, This was a lot of fun, guys, I love these podcasts. EDIT: I just had a thought. Danny taking off the jacket, now that I think about it, feels like it symbolizes that, while he grew emotionally (as I said above, he learned to go with his heart and be with who he wanted regardless of what others thought), his removing the jacket shows that he is still being truthful to himself. He is still a tough guy and a rebel, but he's changed for the better, because he can be tough and badass without having to pretend. And not having to pretend means he also realizes he doesn't have to pretend to be a jock or more like Sandy in order to be with her.

Happy Hanukkah

23:44 🤯 Like Raven above, I'm with George on Danny. (Language!) 26:05 [breathy voice] "Happy Birthday, Danny Zuko..."

I see it as a partially fictionalized Kane exclusive. With the characters arrayed as either bought by the William Randolph Hearst stand in or crusading against him. The more outlandish characters of course are blamed on those yellow journalism spewing, muckraking reporters.
