I look at that thumbnail and the only word that comes to mind is, “Woooow!” (Eh? Eh? See what I did there? I'll show myself out...)

Renee MeowMeow Beans

We're ALL a random bowl of nuts. 😆 "Shanghai Noon" is also a pun the movie "High Noon." 🙂 And yes, the red kerchief and hat that Jackie wears are a reference to John Wayne.

Keith Brown

Have you ever seen a 1971 western RED SUN ? It stars Charles Bronson and Toshiro Mifune . A Japanese ambassador's train in the 1870's American west is robbed and a sacred sword is taken and Mifune's character is given the task to retrieve the sword with help from Bronson .

Keith Brown

Bad guy killed by oyster shell was Jason Connery son of Sean Connery.

Corabal

Uno mas?

Jeff K.

Man, I totally forgot that Walton Goggins was in this movie.

Renee MeowMeow Beans

I hope y'all enjoyed this - it's mostly just a silly, fun movie - but I think it's a bit of an homage to comedy westerns as well as an action movie. And I think Own and Jackie have great comic chemistry! Oh, and one more thing is the end of the movie is a reference to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (a great, if flawed, movie).

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

“High Noon” is the classic time for duels in westerns. That’s where the title comes from

Theadora

"Random bowl of nuts" is one of the best openings ever Simone!

Simon Pegged Me

High Noon (1952) is one of the classic westerns, and it would be a great candidate for a future reaction.

Jeff K.

If you guys have never seen any John Wayne movies, might I suggest The Searchers? Quite possibly the best Western ever made. Rio Bravo and the original True Grit are good ones as well. And The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. All classics.

Enchiladitos

There’s a famous western called High Noon and Shanghai Noon is a play on that title.

Dan Holmes

High Noon (western duels) + China = Shanghai Noon

Dan Holmes

Shanghai Knights is lots of fun! I love Owens character in this franchise, i don't know why but he's one of my favorites in all of cinema lol :)

Danika Silva

Yay!!! Finally 🫂🫶👍💯🇨🇦🎊

I think Butch and Sundance is virtually perfect, so I'd be curious to know what you view as flaws in that one. I hope that George and Simone get to both that and The Sting at some point. And yeah, Owen and Jackie have such easy chemistry. Of course, I feel like both of those guys are charming enough that they could have chemistry with a rock, so it makes sense that they'd play well off of each other.

Renee MeowMeow Beans

I love Butch and Sundance! But I find the pacing spotty (drags a little sometimes) and the bicycle scene is pretty cheesy - I mean, I'll watch Paul Newman/Katherine Ross do just about anything and probably love it, but that scene doesn't work for me. But I would watch any and all Newman/Redford team-ups. 😊 And TOTALLY agree about Owen and Jackie. Love both of them on-screen no matter who they're with. 😁 And I also love Shanghai Nights as well - so ridiculous and fun.

Renee MeowMeow Beans

I would love a reaction to High Noon - I'm fond of a great western (esp. the spaghetti variety!) One I'd love to see a reaction to is Ravenous (that movie is a trip!)

Renee MeowMeow Beans

I esp. love True Grit and Liberty Valance - can't resist good Ol' Jimmy Stewart.)

Athenor

Love these movies Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan play off each other really well

Hans Czajkowski Jørgensen

The movie's title is a play on words, referring back to a very famous western called 'High Noon', which again refers to a very used time of day for one-on-one duels in westerns in general.

Twisty Twitties

Absolutely love this movie, hope you do the sequel too, prefer this one but the sequel is pretty fun too.

Dwight Scarn

Loved this movie! Saw it in theaters. And yes I felt the fights should have been longer but it was a highly entertaining movie. I think this was the comedic break out role for Owen Wilson.

BoredLittleLady

This was one of my favorite action comedy movies growing up. The sequel “Shanghai Knights” (2003) is a lot of fun as well.

Corabal

You were confused about the film title George, I think it's simply wordplay on the the title "High Noon"

Happy Hanukkah

Surely you're not claiming he's too cool for school!

Dwight Scarn

Shanghai Knights is enjoyable but i feel not as funny, the cinematography, sets and fight choreography is much better but it almost feels like they tried to make it too disneyish. Still liked it though.

Brandon Meng

Okay, going to need an Owen Wilson marathon immediately, starting with the following (in order): Midnight in Paris The Royal Tenenbaums You, Me, and Dupree (maybe his lowest rated film but I absolutely love it) Starsky and Hutch Shanghai Knights Wedding Crashers would be an obvious choice if you hadn't seen it... have you done Zoolander? I can't remember. Mandatory if no.

ScRYeD

The main reason for not having so many fights is probably time, i think he was Chan was lucky he got to the horshoe but mutliple times. Check out a youtube channel Every Frame of Painting. Had a video on Jackie Chan.

Thomas Young

Its called this bc High Noon was a common time for when there would be a designated gunfight.

POSTALMNDCLARITY

It was often chosen to be at noon to avoid the sun shining into anyone's eyes and therefore giving an unfair advantage to either participant in the duel.

Jason Dreibeblis

You guys gotta do the sequel, imo it’s even better, and Jackie Chan gets to do more action

Kevin

Watch Prisoners pleaseeee

Happy Hanukkah

i see your Dupree and raise you How Do You Know (2010). It's a not-that-good-but-enjoyable-enough rom-com with Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson, the topical Kathryn Hahn, and, in his last movie appearance, Jack Nicholson.

Timpossible

Shanghai + High Noon = Shanghai Noon

Ginger

"Dude, Binaman is not the preferred nomenclature!"

BoredLittleLady

Not sure if I commented when the video first came out but I’m rewatching some of your older videos and figured I’d recommend the sequel, Shanghai Knights.

Movies2319

Y’all definitely have to do Shanghai Knights now!!!
