Yes, everybody's reaction at the end is that if Debbie had just been honest with the family they would have welcomed her with open arms and given her all the fortune she desired. It's just such a pity that she couldn't see it as clearly as we can.

The Addams Family is a fictional family created by American cartoonist Charles Addams in 1938. The Addams are not ghouls, monsters, or supernatural. The Addams are an eccentric old-money clan who delight in the macabre and the grotesque and they are unaware or unconcerned that people find them bizarre or frightening. The Addams Family consists of Gomez & Morticia Addams, children, Wednesday, Pugsley, & Pubert Addams, Wednesday and Pugsley's infant brother, Uncle Fester & Grandmama, Lurch (the butler), The Thing (a disembodied hand) and Cousin Itt, Morticia's lion Kitty Kat & her carnivorous plant Cleopatra. The family appears to be a branch of an extensive Addams clan, with relatives all over the world. They share macabre interests, such as putting each other and themselves in the way of bodily harm (none of which seems to have any effect), the Addams are not evil. They are a close-knit extended family. Morticia is an exemplary mother, and she and Gomez are passionate towards each other; She occasionally fondly calls him bubbela, to which he responds by kissing her arms, behavior which Morticia can also provoke by speaking a few words in French. The parents are supportive of their children, the family is friendly and hospitable to visitors; in some cases, it is willing to donate large sums of money to causes, despite the visitors' horror at the Addams' peculiar lifestyle. The Addams live in an abandoned asylum which is haunted by a disembodied resident who demands the property to remain undisturbed. The house is a wreck, of course, but this is a house-proud family just the same, and every trap door is in good repair. Money is no problem. The Addams Family simply goes their own way without regard to social convention or societal norms.

Good job spotting Tony Shalhoub! Other famous people you may have missed were David Hyde Pierce (Niles Crane in Frasier, the voice of Abe Sapien in Hellboy) as the doctor that delivered Pubert, and Nathan Lane (the voice of Timon in The Lion King, Ernie Smuntz in Mouse Hunt) as the cop to whom Gomez attempts to report Debbie's scheme.

The only movie I've seen with Christpher Lloyd where he doesnt' play a manic character is a movie from the 80's called The Dream Team. He plays a super calm and nerdy character in that movie. It's actually pretty good, you should check it out if you can.
