Yay! Exactly what I want to watch right now.

One of the reactions where I camped on Gmail and kept refreshing until this dropped. I love this movie and I'm sure I'll love your reaction to it.

Listening to your intro, at the time this was released "family values" was a big political talking point. So the title and the movie were partially a parody of that.

The Addams Family is a fictional family created by American cartoonist Charles Addams in 1938. The Addams are not ghouls, monsters, or supernatural. The Addams are an eccentric old-money clan who delight in the macabre and the grotesque and they are unaware or unconcerned that people find them bizarre or frightening. The Addams Family consists of Gomez & Morticia Addams, children, Wednesday, Pugsley, & Pubert Addams, Wednesday and Pugsley's infant brother, Uncle Fester & Grandmama, Lurch (the butler), The Thing (a disembodied hand) and Cousin Itt, Morticia's lion Kitty Kat & her carnivorous plant Cleopatra. The family appears to be a branch of an extensive Addams clan, with relatives all over the world. They share macabre interests, such as putting each other and themselves in the way of bodily harm (none of which seems to have any effect), the Addams are not evil. They are a close-knit extended family. Morticia is an exemplary mother, and she and Gomez are passionate towards each other; She occasionally fondly calls him bubbela, to which he responds by kissing her arms, behavior which Morticia can also provoke by speaking a few words in French. The parents are supportive of their children, the family is friendly and hospitable to visitors; in some cases, it is willing to donate large sums of money to causes, despite the visitors' horror at the Addams' peculiar lifestyle. The Addams live in an abandoned asylum which is haunted by a disembodied resident who demands the property to remain undisturbed. The house is a wreck, of course, but this is a house-proud family just the same, and every trap door is in good repair. Money is no problem. The Addams Family simply goes their own way without regard to social convention or societal norms.

Just rewatched National Lampoon's Vacation and coudn't find a reaction for Christmas Vacation, so either you did not continue with the series or the reaction has been copyrighted. If the first one then National Lampoons Christmas Vacation should be a strong contender for your xmas lineup this year.

One of those sequels that's better than the first and builds upon it very well, at least for me personally. A macabre and offbeat good time! Also Paul Rudnick who did the screenplays for these films wrote a movie called “In & Out” that had Joan Cusack in a scene-stealing performance, along with Kevin Kline who's great as usual. Highly recommeded watch :)

That picture when they were showing all of her aliases on the news—the pic that wasn't her—was Kathy Lee Gifford. She was famous at the time, and co-host of a very popular show with Regis Philbin. I think the joke was that Kathy, who was very sweet, was the Black Widow this whole time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathie_Lee_Gifford

Gary Fixler

(currently waiting for them to recognize the camp counselor from Ghostbusters II (Janosz))

One of the best sequels, hands down. I still quote it. Another good Joan Cusack movie is Grosse Point Blank

Gary Fixler

I remember laughing at the TV trailer to In & Out (window treatment bit), way back in 1997. I'd like to see it, so I I vote yes.

Jethro Divine

Brussels sprouts and Cinebinge. Can't get any better than this.

Kevin Knadle

Simone, I hope you have a very slow death. One that takes about seventy years. In the meantime, take some cold medicine, get lots of rest and feel better.

Brandon

One of the best sequels. There's an inconsistency with Fester being nervous around women, but in the first movie Gomez admits that he was always jealous of his brother for being such a ladies man. But you know what? Who cares. Joan Cusack is a terrific villain. She's always one of the most memorable characters in everything she's ever been in, even when it's a smaller role like High Fidelity. George mentioned something I never thought of before. If the Addams' knew that Debbie was a murderer - and if she didn't try to steal from them, she would have been welcomed into the family with open arms. I think the only reason I like the first one more is because of the Mamushka. The dance at the restaurant in this one just isn't as good.

Ash Lee Can

Well, to be fair, Fester's been stuck around his psycho fake, mother for the past 25 years before getting his memories back...

For more Christina Ricci you should watch Sleepy Hollow. For more Carol Kane: Scrooged (xmas is coming!). Wednesday's crush was David Krumholtz, who's been in tons of stuff, most recently he was in Oppenheimer. I'm sure the makers of Buffy wrote Harmony into Buffy after seeing her in this.

mky

David Krumholtz was also "Mr. Universe" in "Serenity".

Divinerights

Wow. Even the Addams family are Pro-vaccine

R Harper

Nope. Series of online articles and fan web sites. George asked during Addams Family if they were supernatural or monsters thus the explanation.

REDR58

Christina Ricci movies: “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” (1998) “Sleepy Hollow” (1999) “Prozac Nation” (2001)

REDR58

Holy cow that was when I was in high school. It was a big scandal/news at the time.

Mastervodo

OH Simone! Get some meds and some sleep and get better! Once again, I am seeing kitties in the background not getting petted!

FranciscoGios

One other Christopher Lloyd films is Dennis the Menace from 1993. Never remember him as a laid back and calm actor though.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

“We are going to keep on trying to strengthen the American family, to make American families a lot more like the Waltons and a lot less like the Simpsons.” George H. W. Bush, 1992. Rot in hell H. W.

Emptysea93

I know Simone has already watched Wednesday Season 1, but since Season 2 is coming out, maybe George can do a solo reaction to Wednesday Season 1 (or do a rewatch), and y'all can react to season 2 together.

Gary Fixler

I think it would be a fun extra for them to watch a couple of episodes of the old 1964 TV show, starring John Astin and Carolyn Jones.

Jacob King

In the Harmony Hut scene the theme song you didn’t recognise was The Brady Bunch. In many ways the Brady Bunchy is the polar opposite of the Addams Family but the two 90s movies were pretty good.

Emily G

Please please check out The Producers (2005 version) it’s hilarious and I really think you’d enjoy it and laugh really hard.

Drew

The 1967 version is quite good (I haven’t seen the 2005 one), but it’s worth a watch.

Emily G

I like the 1967 version too but the 2005 is more polished and is still directed by Mel Brooks. Plus I absolutely love Nathan Lane as Max Bialystok!

Opti_Frog

How can "A goat?" be one of the funniest lines ever written? 😄

stray

Street Fighter (1994) was undeniably terrible but Raul Julia's portrayal of M. Bison was iconic and worth a watch.

Jordan Aiken

Seeing Joan Cusack in this for some reason reminded me of another movie of hers you should checkout. It's called Toys, it also stars Robin Williams and LL Cool J. If you like crazy elaborate set design, you'll love Toys.

windyWin

I haven't seen these movies since I was a child. A lot of the scenes are coming back to me. Great reaction as usual

Wilss

Any chance of Wayne's World 2 on a poll soon?

Cory Garron

Mercedes McNabb is from Vancouver, she's great even if she betrayed Angel to Jayne from Firefly, he still left her a letter of recommendation. The kid who played Joel seemed so familiar, I had to look him up. He was the main porn director in "The Deuce". He was also in Oppenheimer.

droodly

Joel or David Krumholtz shows up all over including as Mr. Universe in the Firefly movie Serenity. I think I first saw him in Numb3rs on TV, but then started noticing him in lots of stuff including most things with the Appatow gang. He's awesome.
