Dragonhunter

Nice, Child's Play. Hope it has a chance to win!

Tony Wirt

Man, it’s close but Lost Boys better win

Brazilian_Rebel

It’s gonna be Child’s Play or Lost Boys 🫠

HUGO TORRES

Even though it has no chance of winning still voted for glory

cheech

Heathers by a million

Carl Noraas

Childs Play please! So much fun!

Jon Johns

Omg what a list! Take notes of the #2,#3 results of this list!

Fanchman

One of my first polls and I'm already in the minority. 😥 Heathers is a dark classic.

Denashi

The Lost Boys! So much 80's cheesy goodness!

Random Nevermind

Couple of 80s movies that are nice to watch The Dead Zone 1983 Dirty Rotten Scoundrels 1988

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

You know what I like about a poll full of movies I don’t really care about? It’s that when I watch it with you guys, I rediscover them and usually realize that I liked them more than I remembered.

Maiki

Suggestion: King Ralph (1991)

Jon Tabb

Child's Play!!

Amos T Fairchild

It feels like we're running out of films or something. lol.

Morningstar

Please watch 2013’s, The Great Gatsby.🥂

Jeff K.

Never seen Heathers or Childs Play, but the rest are all bangers (I’m sure those two are, as well, but again - haven’t seen them). Hoping for Untouchables (since my other top choice is Teen Wolf and that doesn’t stand a chance).

Daniel Smith

Not a bad film in that list. Will be interesting to see George’s reaction to Lost Boys and take away food.

Daniel Smith

Glad films like Glory are even being considered. Not my favourite from this list but it’s a really good list with no weak ones at all. Happy if anything here wins.

Joshua White

God, I can't wait till My Dinner With Andre makes it to the reaction circuit.

Dre2up

Rooting for Child’s Play!

Noel Valdez

I just realized that I haven’t seen that many movies from the 80s. Lol

JayF

It seems that Glory isn't going to win but that's okay because you can do it for Black History month next year. Another I'd really like to see for that as well is "Amistad" (1997), one of Spielberg's movies that is very overlooked IMO (though it's a 7.3 at IMDB).

paul rai

There’s one amazing hilarious moment in Child’s Play that I would love to see their reaction that is an all-timer (for those who know, it’s the fireplace scene). The child’s play franchise is genuinely a great horror franchise and one that’s not too long that they could run through (at least on the movie side). And it’s far more campy and comedic than being scary (although it scared the piss out of me as a kid).

Raymond DeGraw

Nice poll...a lot of good movies. Looking forward to seeing these reactions in the future. 1. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) 2. Falling Down 3. R.E.D. 4. Get Shorty 5. Dutch (For Thanksgiving)

Ronny Boss

I'm a little sad Dragonslayer wasn't included on this poll 😭

Taterology

Glory and Amistad are both amazing movies.

cincassette

On this list definitely "Heathers"! It's a cult classic. From the decade I'll also recommend "Paris, Texas", "After Hours" and "Brazil".

Twisty Twitties

The Lost boys is a classic but id also love to see Glory, Mathew Brodericks best role, also Denzel, Morgan Freeman, Cary Elwes, Andre Brauger, its a great cast

Ricardo Alanis

I hope you consider Andor for a short TV show, especially with S2 coming up in April. Given that you enjoyed Rogue One I think you’ll love it.

Jon Johns

If neither of you have seen the TV series "Deadwood", I would like to formally suggest it. Deadwood aired on HBO from 2004-2006, its 3 seasons, 38 episodes (appox 1 hour each.) Deadwood has a loyal fanbase, but the Youtube edit would give you the fits, due to the language, & often sexual content. Might be a good drive to Patreon membership, though. Deadwood is a TV Western series, based upon the city of Deadwood, South Dakota during the 1870’s. Written & Created largely by David Milch, (Famous for the popular 1990’s TV series “NYPD Blue”) The series has heavy dialogue, some action, and a lot of sexual content, as it often takes place in an old west brothel. The complexity of seasonal plots, and character development over the course of the series is compelling & intriguing. The language is pretty heavy with words that Youtube would never allow. Like, every sentence? Every other word often? In addition, although it does not explicitly show sexual acts, they are so well implied, and referred to in dialogue, there would be little way to edit the show for Youtube without muting entire 10-15 minute runs, and blurring them as well. But maybe I underestimate George's editing skills? All that being said, I believe you would both enjoy it, perhaps as much as The Wire. If you ask your patreons & Youtube subscribers, that would better gauge the masses interest in the series.

Elvenwitch

Heather's is rough. Good but especially today it takes on a different feel.

Mikebdrx

This maybe has been asked before but any plans to watch the new Dune series on HBO?

John

In anticipation of Gladiator 2 and some Oscar buzz. I strongly recommend Glory for which Denzel Washington won his first Oscar

John

Though I would love to see Glory sooner rather later. I would add Malcolm X, arguably Denzel’s greatest performance

Tim T—

Brazil (1985) also is ... from the 80s!

Kate

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels! Yes

Emily G

Please check out The Producers (2005 version) it’s hilarious and I really think you guys would laugh hard. ❤️

Chase Schleich

Untouchables and Platoon are must watch films. Fingers crossed for one of those. Always down for some Chucky though too lol

Paul Mix

+1 on Brazil.

jmundt33a

They hope for Oscar buzz. There ain’t gonna be none. Retconning nostalgia bait wasting Denzel’s time. Coming 2 America, Ridley Scott edition. That being said, Glory, Deja Vu, Malcolm X, and American Gangster would be great choices. On the sci-fi bent, I’d push for Source Code.

Villa Lobos

Please add Short Circuit to the next 80’s, comedy, or sci fi polls. You two will love it.

Paul Mix

IMO would probably be pretty comparable to their reaction to the Wire.

Jon Johns

It would! But oh boy, so much blur, and mute! Lol.

Jihad Lee

The Lost Boys!!! Come on guys. Time for the comeback!

Rachel W

Two fantastic '80s films- w/Oscar performances are "Prizzi's Honor" staring Jack Nicholson, Kathleen Turner and Anjelica Houston and "Moonstruck" with Cher and Nicholas Cage.

dieselbeast

If the untouchables wins, we need more Brian de Palma i.e. "Scarface" and "Carlitos Way" one day! 🙏

dieselbeast

Holy crap it's been so long that I totally forgot they reacted to it lol thanks I appreciate it! But I still stand by Carlitos Way lol

Maiki

Carlitos Way is so so good, always a bit under the radar when it comes to de Palma classics.

Scott CineRam

Glad to see that The Untouchables is doing well. But I'd be even more excited to see your reaction to Glory, I hope you get to do that one someday.

dieselbeast

It gets overshadowed by Scarface understandably but Carlitos Way should be experienced one day without a doubt

Michael Buhl

Other '80s movies that should be on this poll: Brazil (1985) Repo Man (1984) Blue Velvet (1986) Videodrome (1983) After Hours (1985) Lost in America (1985) Better Off Dead (1985) Withnail and I (1987) The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984)

AVATAR-X

Voting for Lost Boys, since we missed it for spooky season.

Michael Buhl

Yes, yes, yes, and more yes!!!

Jay

The movies are mostly pretty good, but Chucky has taken that franchise to another level. I honestly can't get over how good that show is.

theLandofLiz

Omg HEATHERS! one of my all time favorites!

rictus grin

heathers is about as dark as humour gets and i love it

rictus grin

thats quite a strong list not a bad movie in it, even if i don't feel the need to ever rewatch teen wolf its a good movie

ShōNuff3K

Best music score or soundtrack from these movies?

Mike FromOz

Lost Boys! Come on greased up sax guy!

Roby J

I've loved having Penguin to look forward to on Monday evenings, but now that it's over I'm going to be sad for sure. If only there was a new show to fill that void...like Dune: Prophecy which, coincidently, just started airing. Wink wink, hint hint, nudge nudge.

Rupert Purcat

Or even better - Crocodile Dundee II (88), Mad Max 2 (81), Breaker Morant (80), Gallipoli (81), The Man from Snowy River (82), The Year of Living Dangerously (1982), Dead Calm (89), and just for shits and giggles Razorback.

darkmoobs

Heathers all day!

darkmoobs

I dunno, that one is getting some pretty awful reviews.

Mike FromOz

Might ask for them to watch Gallipoli around ANZAC day.

Vwlss Nvwls

They are honestly all must see movies. I never liked Child's Play, but it is too iconic to avoid. Glory is a great movie and story, as well as Platoon. The Untouchables is a lot of fun and Brian DePalma... he is my favorite director. Then you have The Lost Boys and Teen Wolf, two untypical but fun and funny movies. And last, but never ever least, you have Heathers... which I have no words for, but is a top of the list must see.

sarCC

They're doing Season 2 of Arcane.

Michael Johnson

Looooove The Untouchables. Been far too long since I've watched that one

sarCC

Longlegs and/or Strange Darling would both be great reactions.

Steven Cavanagh

A really good Fantasy Film from the 80's is Legend, it stars Tom Cruse & Tim Curry.

Dakota

With Christmas coming up I will recommend A Muppet Christmas Carol. My favorite Christmas movie and the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol.

Gee

Dang, that's a poll and a half, all are must watches with perhaps the exception of Childs Play

Ryan Alexander

If we're recommending HBO shows then Barry should be top of the list. Great show, and not a huge commitment 32 30 minute episodes, and the series coconcluded so you get an actual ending

Zinphad

Problem with Child's Play winning would be that certain folks would then clamor for ALL the Child's Play movies to get done. Feels like the beginnings of franchises should have their own poll.

Jeff I.

To quote Family Guy, "How does Kevin Costner keep getting work!?" ...his acting in The Untouchables is terrible.

Paul Hawthorne

Ummmm we need to get these Glory numbers up!!!

dieselbeast

You put some respect on Kevin Costner's name sir lol

Seahag

SOOOO happy to see Heathers on here, I rarely see anyone ever react to it.

Bruce Liddle

The Untouchables is a good movie, but, a bit over-rated. Apart from Sir Sean. He was awesome. Still a good film though. Glory is a terribly under-rated film. It's a must-see. Terrific piece of film making. Heathers is superb. Instant cult classic. I wonder if Platoon has lost some of it's impact. It was amazing, and shocking to see at the cinema. This was pre-Saving Private Ryan. Not many film-makers did the "loss of humanity" thing as well as Stone or Kubrick. Terrific film. Lost Boys is the 80s at its cheesiest best. Loud, colourful and funny. Stoked for you guys to watch any of these though. Enjoy!

Rudy Hernandez

Glory is one of the best movies ever made.

RichieRich

Humbly requesting Toy Story again

Twisty Twitties

Totally agree, im very surprised there are so few reactions to it.

scott melton

"How to get Ahead in Advertising" w/ Richard E Grant at his most manic.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

Its a great movie but this is one of those were I don’t see it working well for the reaction format.

Jacob King

Heathers is nearly perfect film.

Elroy

In surprised they watched cars first ! I still like cars tho

Nat B

Oh! Heathers!

Steve Mercier

HEATHERS!...isn't going to win....okay.

Terdell Ferguson

While all of these would be worthy of winning this, three of these clearly stand-out from the others: Glory, Platoon and The Untouchables. With only The Untouchables a possibility of winning this particular poll, I would hope Glory (which sits at #5 on my Top 100) and Platoon would get a view sometime. Love the category though!

Centuries of Sound

Not to question other people's choices but FIFTH PLACE!?

Brandon Meng

So many good movies here but The Untouchables is an all time great. Requesting for future consideration: Love Actually (for Christmas!...unless Simone has already seen it) Perks of Being a Wallflower Manchester by the Sea Forgetting Sarah Marshall Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri The Royal Tenenbaums (it's a travesty you haven't gone back to Wes Anderson since Grand Budapest Hotel) Cheers!

G P

Recommending: The Royal Tenenbaums The Dollars Trilogy The Menu Bram Stoker's Dracula Barry Lyndon Eyes Wide Shut 12 Monkeys

Brandon Meng

+1 The Royal Tenenbaums, Eyes Wide Shut

Logan Kerlee

I'm hoping/voting for The Lost Boys! That movie's ESSENTIAL 80's viewing!

Zach D

adding to 80s: Cocktail with Tom Cruise

DM DC

The Untouchables(1987) is a really good film. But I had to put my vote for one of my favorites: The Lost Boys (1987)!

TheGrimOne

The lost boys would be a much more fun reaction.

Rocky Raccoon

Taps would be a good one from the 80s

Wrencher86

Really hoping for a Lost Boys reaction. Pure, distilled 80's cheese in the best possible way.

Perry Campbell

Can’t believe Glory isn’t number 1 i couldn’t stop crying, and I’m a White guy from the South 😢😢😢😢

Hollis Hamilton

The Untouchables is very loosely based on history, but Glory routinely gets high scores from historians.

Nick Kessler

I am adding to the list. Gleaming The Cube and Rad.

John

Agree, The Royal Tenebaums and The Dollars Trilogy

sarCC

...than?

Smooticus

Had to put in a vote for Glory. It proved Matthew Broderick could act in serious roles, and catapulted Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington to international stardom. Great movie and was the first telling of a little known part of American Civil War history at the time

Smooticus

It's weird to me how many terrific movies from the 80's get zero attention on these channels, while the same 15 movies seem to get seen over and over. These were box office and / or critical successes like Gallipoli, The Year of Living Dangerously, Paris Texas, The Mission, Mississippi Burning, Cinema Paridiso, Tender Mercies...the list goes on

Smooticus

Best version ever

Smooticus

You must be Australian ;)

Logan Kerlee

More than just about everything on that list. A few of those are good movies but The Lost Boys is essential 80's. It's fun, dark, a bit creepy but it also contains a very fun storyline and characters. Plus the music! Ohhh, man! I love the tunes in that movie. :)

Smooticus

I vote Glory, but you can no longer get it via streaming

Smooticus

Paris, Texas is one of my top 5 films The other two are excellent as well

Nick Kessler

I’ve watched it over and over throughout my life. I know of the 4k release but have not seen it. I’d love some reactors to watch movies like rad every now and then. Even though they aren’t as popular as heathers there is a big cult following and if you are the only reactor that’s reacted to it I have to imagine that would be a way to get a few new subs.

Smooticus

Fair point Thanks for making me feel old ;)

James Falato

Great Selection!!! Keep-On Keeping-On!!

Simon Pegged Me

Deadwood is one of my favorite series of all time.

Michael Bourke

A lot of great movies on this list but The Lost Boys is just such a fun movie with a great soundtrack and absolutely 100% 80's.

Amar

80's poll means hopefully a long time before another movie from the 80's or before.

BubblyRainbows

Some great movies on this list. But of course, my favorites are all losing... Boo!

mraran

Can't wait for one of the best Chicago films. And what a score! The final scene "the courthouse chase" was filmed at the Chicago Cultural Center, and it's one of my favorite places. You can wander for hours in these gorgeous hallways and huge rooms and look at all this art. And the thing is that it is practically unknown and literally across the street from the Bean (tourism central).

China Andronicus

One of my favorite bits Family Guy ever did.

Lee

Lost Boys is leading and Childs Play is beating Platoon. "The dumbest buy the mostest." - Jello Biafra

Joshua White

That's going to be the fun part. The blank stares, trying to figure out what to say. :)

Matt

would love to see short circuit

Huckleberry lobo

This is a tight race between The Untouchables and The Lost Boys, I have no dog in the fight but The Lost Boys is classic 80s cheese and would do better YouTube numbers.

sheriffjt

I mean, I love Child's Play (big Brad Dourif fan), but didn't Platoon win 3 Oscars including Best Picture and Stone for Best Director?

TONYA JACKSON

Need to get The Burbs on the next 80s poll!

The Dark Unknown

please do "scent of a woman" for thanksgiving im begging you!

TheSentry77

Although I'll venture a guess and say romantic comedies aren't George's thing, I'd still love to see you guys react to some really well-written, actually funny ones, like - Forgetting Sarah Marshall - She's Out of my League

strange shadow

I have to make my pitch for Heathers. It's arguably one of the most secretly influential films on this list, inspiring a whole generation of writers and directors from Diablo Cody to Joss Whedon. Plus, the first two acts are pitch perfect, even if the final act is a little uneven. A wildly subversive black comedy that I can't even imagine anyone making today. Moreover, it firmly established Winona Ryder as the first true Gen X movie star. It's just wildly underrated.

Huckleberry lobo

"I still believe" you can, because a healthy diet does not guarantee a long full life. Some peope live to a 100 but have never lived a day in their life, so I invite you to throw caution to the wind. 😁

Anodyne

I know Heathers isn't winning on popularity, but it's a very significant movie - it presages the outlook on life of the group of us who came through in the 15 years before the Millenials. It's worth adding in to the schedule as an 'extra'.

Anodyne

I'm really waiting for Simone to see Gene Hackman in Mississippi Burning - his acting is perfection.

Lee Meehan

Damn Lost Boys seem to be coming second, was really hoping for the sexy saxophone solo 😂

Dirge Girl

Misfits, oddballs, and weirdoes: Better Off Dead (1985) [Comedy/Romance] Real Genius (1985) [Comedy/Sci-fi] Weird Science (1985) [Comedy/Sci-fi] Cheers! 8D

John

Real Genius is underrated

beefjerkywizard

Being Canadian they already celebrated Thanksgiving...

beefjerkywizard

Still a good movie regardless of what time of year

JayF

What...are you...prepared...to watch...? (you'll get it later)

Mike FromOz

I was greasing myself up in anticipation. Now I guess I'll just have to go get some icecream instead.

The Gunslinger

Could you cover Atlantis: The Lost Empire?

Jason White

If you do watch The Lost Bots (which you must!) then you’ll have to see its darker brother, Near Dark that was released at the same time.

Felreign

Recommending Muppet Christmas Carol and 2001 Grinch for next month

Cat Charbonneau

Add Earth Girls Are Easy for ultimate 80’s weirdness

Brandon Meng

I've been recommending Forgetting Sarah Marshall for ages, but She's Out of My League is sooo underrated, I'd love a reaction to that movie

Monica Alarcon

I voted for The Lost Boys but I'm perfectly okay that The Untouchables is winning, it's an amazing movie... I'm sure they'll do The Lost Boys later

Chase Lonnergan

Damn. Lost Boys came in second. At least it will get watched soon. It was, after all, the key inspiration for my pfp.

Rupert Purcat

You mean Cocktail with Bryan Brown and some short dumb kid?

Rupert Purcat

I can assure you that being Aussie has not bearing on my movie recommendations. Though I could add Young Einstein.

Logan Kerlee

Won't lie - I'm disappointed that The Lost Boys is now behind The Untouchables. xD Believe me when I say that I know that The Untouchables is a great watch - I just feel that The Lost Boys is essential 80's viewing. It packs so many 80's references into the movie! It's like watching a modern Marvel movie but instead it's an 80's vampire flick! xD lmao, I know it'll likely lose this poll but I'm hoping to see it return on a future one.

WayneC

I was watching one of your music reactions the other day, the one with Elvis "If I Can Dream" from the '68 Comeback Special. I wondered if you would consider reacting to that show (about 50 minutes), or others like it. And a few days ago Netflix released a documentary "Return of the King: The Fall and Rise of Elvis Presley". Would you consider reacting to that?

Steven Cavanagh

Agreed, I've been recommending it for a while now, at least it came second.

dennis bay

This series is awesome.. so well written, so well acted, and so well shot. In addition to the long takes.. and long monologs.. the teqniques with lighting and camera angles, and even the shot of the old ladys reflection in that intercom ? lol.. but I am surprised you haven't mentioned the transitions.. ie opening a door from one time period to another... It was a disgrace that this show wasn't nominated for all the emmys
