What a final act. I think ep 7 easily became my favorite episode of the entire series

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Had some mixed feelings about the wrap-up but the animation, voice acting and spectacle are so masterful that they feel like nitpicks in hindsight. Definitely one of the best shows in a long while! Looking very much forward to more from these talented folks in the times ahead. Glad y’all had a great time along the way

isn't it funny that the world turns out much better without Vi?

During episode 2x2 reaction Simone had a theory that Viktor was the mage who saved Jayce and his mother in the past. George shut down the idea right away, but she was right! What a great twist.

Vi & Cait Plissken show! Props to TheReelRejects

Oh, and Ekko reversed time in the game and I believe that jade-like weapon is in the game too. Singed daughter is a champion I think in the game. Never played the game...thank God.

Which Arcane character is most tattoo worthy?

Do not let the comments gaslight you too much George, whilst there wasn't a shot of Singed dragging Vander's body away there was 100% a shot of Singed in his lab with a small fraction of a figure visible that caused the internet to immediately start speculating "vander is coming back as warwick in season 2". I vividly remember the discussions and theory videos about it so you're not making that up.

Some observations: 1- Jinx is implied to not be dead. When Caitlyn is studying the plants, she sees that are some corridors/exits in the tower. And if you slow down enough the moment of explosion, you can see a purple line leaving. Jinx is maybe be in that ship 2- Just before Maddie shot Caitlyn, you can see that there's one or two black frames. Mel is an empath, and she can see that Maddie is actually smilling. You can search it to see the frames. Also, in the moment of the shot, the bullet is going to Cait's neck, So Maddie wanted Cait to die drowed in her own blood, instead of a quick death.

Arcane superseeds most of the established lore in LOL, reading into the previous lore for the characters in the show won't probably result in a coherent experience. For example, in the original lore Viktor infiltrated Jayce's lab and stole hextech from him to give to the people of Zaun. Riot stated that Arcane is the new lore, so i won't read much into it. And yes, 4 seconds comes from Ekko's ingame ability to "rewind" his health and position 4 seconds in the past. Another cool detail that a lot of people pointed out is that the dance scene between AU Powder and Ekko is in 4 fps

Another 3 episode arc might have been warranted to establish the coming together of Zaun and Piltover, but it's still a great season, and an all-time great animated series.

I saw theories about Vander/Warwick come up in YT comments on the season 2 teaser. That teaser was basically just the S2E3 Singed stinger where we finally see the outline Warwick fully formed. In those comments was the first speculation I saw about Vander. That and Riot updated Warwick's lore in LoL around the same time though they didn't mention Vander by name, it was very easy to connect the dots. Necrit, one of the LoL lore obsessives also alluded to it in his break down of that teaser. I wish I had the will power to not look at that stuff but it still didn't spoil the effect. Tragic fate for our man Vander.

I feel you, I can’t help spoiling things for myself either haha

I feel like y'all got all this but just wanted to pontificate because I love this series so much. I have been going back and forth with folks on Reddit for the last few weeks about it because wo folks seem to think that even after his fusion with the hexcore, Viktor was 100% benevolent. What is your take? Our Viktor hasn't been in complete control since he was resurrected. Really, Viktor was compromised by the hexcore from the moment he started experimenting on himself. That is why in the scene from S1E9, where Viktor was going to do himself in, he begs Jayce to destroy the Hexcore. Even then he knew he didn't have the strength to do it himself. The core wouldn't even allow him to harm it. It punished him when he tried, after it consumed Skye by taking away the few gifts that it had given him. So in S2E1 when Jayce fused him with it to 'save' him, that destroyed a good portion of his humanity. There was enough of Viktor left that it was still tangentially guided by his primary motivation of helping his people, but it even corrupted that benevolent purpose into the drive for "glorious evolution". Even if Jayce hadn't blasted Viktor, the end result of him 'healing' people, was annihilating their individuality and free will. It would have resulted in the future that Jayce saw in S2E7 regardless. At some point it would no longer have been just the willing that he converted. Singed tells Viktor in S2E6 that his power is finite, as he spends power to help people, he is weakening the part of him that still had some sway over the arcane anomaly that changed him. If Singed hadn't intervened I think Viktor would have died, But since he did intervene Vik really didn't have the power to resist the influence of the Hexcore anymore. Those last vestiges of Skye were one of those last connections to who Vik was in life; when he let that go it was the end, I love that scene. It also results in the undoing of Vander's half formed consciousness. That was my concern from the moment he pledged to help Vander. Viktor may save some part of Vander, but in the process he would also be in control of Warwick. Singed also pointed out, if Viktor were to die, all of what he accomplished would likely go with him. I think Singed was thinking in more of a real world sense as Ambessa was ready to sweep in and destroy that commune, but it was also true because Viktor is the repository of the consciousnesses of all he had 'healed'. That is why Warwick/Vander goes berserk in S2E6. When Vik went down, Vander was gone, there was only Warwick. Then in E8 when Viktor goes into his final evolution, we see those last vestiges of Vander burn away. It makes the events of S2E9 even more sad because Vi doesn't know that, she just sees Vander. In the end, I feel like the time anomaly that Ekko exploded in Vik's face regressed him back to a point where a literal sliver of his humanity was present enough for Jayce to appeal to. All of those actions in aggregate is what made Apex-Viktor relent and undo what damage he could. I think it is amazingly well done. Viktor and Jayce have one the best arcs in the show. I loved all of the background characters they introduced, like the pianist, the Jinxer chick with the cool dreads, and of course Loris, Steb and even Maddie. They all added a lot to the story without being too distracting. I'm still not 100% clear on if Maddie was turned by Ambessa or if she was always there as a plant to keep tabs on Cait. From the tone of her final betrayal, it seemed like her affection for Cait was never real and that tracks as the kind of thing Ambessa would do. It also didn't seem like she did it out of jealousy for being tossed aside by Cait, she seemed like she was on-mission. Her instant kharma death made me incredibly happy.

Another good rollercoaster, very intense. Throwing in alternate realities where things could have been better, is just the knife twist we (didn't) need :D. I hoped to see more of pilgrim Viktor, but godhood Viktor is selling out quick to keep his power - terrible tragedy. Black Rose witch gave me Bene Gessirit vibes (btw. might Dune Prophecy show up on the side?), good for Mel to join them. I had that hunch from Meld picking up the rose in the intro. The makeup sex in a cell was a surprise, though, but not an unwelcome one^^. Meanwhile, good call on the ending, Victor being the mage made sense for a while, but Jace also being there to call out to his friend was beautiful. I also don't know what all the status quo changes here imply, but the characters all got a final moment that was very satisfying, even if tragic for many.

YYZHawk

I've truly never been as emotionally affected by a show as I was in Episode 7. It is so unbelievably heartbreaking and tragic. Ekko gets to experience life as he dreamed it could be and knows he still has to go back to save everyone else. Meanwhile we get to see Powder/Jinx as the best version of herself, knowing that she was robbed of the chance to grow up to be like this and ends up driven to the ends of despair by wanting to kill herself. Their scene of them dancing makes me cry every, single, time.

Graham Bullman

Agree with point 1. After all, right at the start of season 1 / episode 1 Powder did say she was gonna fly in one of those things one day.

Jacob King

I’m fairly convinced Jinx is alive and has “walked away” like Silco told her. Knowing Maddie was a traitor ties up some loose ends like who was keeping Salo informed of Cait’s progress.

Jacob King

Such an amazing show. Ekko and Hiemerdinger getting shunted off to another universe while Jayce went forward in time is partly the chaotic nature of magic but it was also the only way to break the time loop that is the whole series. Nothing in the Victor universe could have changed what had already happened but because Ekko was able to draw on resources beyond Victor’s awareness he could rewrite the future. Part of the brilliance is all the characters had a role in the outcome.

Jacob King

Also check out the lyrics to the song in the dance sequence in episode seven it’s even more beautiful and heartbreaking.

Purple Dragon Knight

Did you all notice that the record at the beginning of ep 7 was Echo and Powder? Also, I have my own head cannon based on some observations. In the ep 7 flashback to explosion, it focuses on the kids morning Vi. They got caught by the cops since they did not flee. I am assuming since Hextek was not invented, Jayce and maybe Catlyn didn't survive either. No Jayce, no hextex. Three starving kids risking death, and one dying, due to poverty. The whole city probably woke up and changed for the better. My two cents. Thank you so much for reacting! You two are awesome!

Aaron Farrell

I think Caitlin was investigating if jinx could have survived. She seemed to be looking at shafts that come out of the hex gate and jinx did have shimmer in her system which they've shown make people really resilient. I think jinx is alive and that's what they are hinting at with Caitlin investigating the hex gates especially with the monkey head in her hand.

Stephen Morris

Jinx may be a character in the next iteration of Arcane. It’s heavily implied that she is on the airship leaving Piltover.

BubblyRainbows

My favorite character from the day I first played League was Lux (Jinx being a close second), so I'd be absolutely thrilled if the next story was focused on Lux and Demacia (her home kingdom). However, as far as I can tell, Ionia (another kingdom) is only slightly less popular among fans than Piltover/Zaun, so If had to put money on the next show, I'd bet on it being an Ionia-based storyline. Jinx and Lux in the game both have the most obnoxious laughs. Me and my bestie used to bot lane together as Lux and Jinx and drive the other team insane with their constant laughter.

Redrum Ritual

This is the greatest show of this year. This my favorite tv show along with Wednesday and Yellowstone. I like The Penguin, Scott Pilgrim Takes off, Yellowstone season 5 part 2, Loki season 2, The Bear season 3, but this one tops them all for me. I have no idea how the writers come up with these solutions of getting out of the ending doom lol. I wouldn't know ho to come up with a good finale like this. This episode was giving me Naruto Shippuden meets Life is Strange vibes. You did it again Simone. You call it on Viktor being that hooded Ghost of Christmas future lol. Simone definitely deserves a great Christmas gift . Also a great gift for her cats. Has Maddie been a spy for Ambessa from the beginning? Maddie giving that cute sweet persona to win everyone over. Ambessa having Maddie get "closer" to Caitlin to keep a closer eye on her. That's why the bomb didn't go off when it was set. Maddie put a nail to stop it from going off. Very good twist. She was Ambessa's little bitch this whole time.

Khan1001

I think the 1st season was better but this was still really good. I think this season was a bit rushed especially the end and needed a couple more episodes but I did some research and they wanted more episodes but Netflix said NO. This show cost 250 Million for the 2 seasons and you can see every penny on the screen! Also, George & Simone, if you have NOT watched BLUE EYE SAMURAI, it is an absolute MUST WATCH!, I'm currently watching it (ep7) and I think it might be better than Arcane, and I LOVE Arcane. I would strongly recommend you just go right ahead and WATCH IT instead of putting it on a future poll, its in the same league as Arcane if not better! Just Incredible!

The alternate dimension in episode 7 is so much better because of chain events after Vi dies. Because Jayce's research killed a child, the council shut down his projects completely despite the possible uses for the research. Due to Vi's death, Jayce was either exiled as threatened in season 1, or followed through with his suicide attempt in season 1. Therefore, no HexTech. Then eventually, Heimerdinger was sent into this dimension where he's still a council member. Knowing what he knows about life in the Underground after he was retired in the original timeline, he used his power as head of the council to rectify the horrible conditions and unite Zaun and Piltover with true equality, hence why he says "I've accomplished great things here". Crazy how one change in the outcome of a botched robbery can create so many great things.
