Buckle up for an incredible season of television…

Owen 'Boots' Davies

Just here to say that me and my brother both religiously watched Gilmore Girls as a teenager! THERE ARE TENS OF US!

8bitAquaDon

The face Simone pulls when George calls pistachios the most addictive substance known to man makes me think Simone's PCP house parties might actually be a thing...

Stugotz

The most boring TV show to watch? Probably anything with James Corden in it.

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

This is a great season and looking forward to how y’all will feel by the end of it. As for terrible TV shows - it’s a toss up between “Australia’s Naughtiest Home Videos” that was cancelled mid-airing during its pilot episode, or “The Chevy Chase Show” that was… an experience lol

Sergio Meira

Back to 'Can People Change? - The TV show'. It's a very interesting season you're starting here. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Sergio Meira

About these episodes, I would say -- note that Chuck's actions (secretly recording Jimmy) are 'the kind of thing Slippin' Jimmy would do', whereas Jimmy's actions saving his brother, taking him to hospital, etc. are the kinds of things Chuck would do, as the great defender of Justince and Doing the Right Thing. These two brothers do have something of each other in themselves, don't they?

Zoran24

letsssss gooooooooooooooooooooooooo

ShōNuff3K

Buggin' Out in Do the Right Thing? Eddie Murphy's jail mate in Trading Places?

Actuarial Lurker

Yes George- he put the vets tracker in so he could wind up in a certain familiar fast food parking lot

Stugotz

Giancarlo Esposito had a funny role in Do the Right Thing but other than that I don't think I've seen him in anything light hearted like that.

Actuarial Lurker

George- Yes the introduction of ....Francesca

Brandon

It would be funny if you came back this week to announce that you're starting all 7 season of 'Mad Men' and you won't be taking any breaks between seasons before you get back to Better Call Saul. IMO it's one of the best TV shows ever made. You'll just never see it on reaction channels because it's not sci-fi, fantasy, gangsters, horror, time travel nor does it have a non-linear narrative that disguises itself as a linear. Then again I'm pretty confident that Mad Men would win in a poll against a bunch of trashy reality slop. 😅

Actuarial Lurker

Giancarlo Esposito who played Gus was in a bunch of Spike Lee movies- which were serious race-related dramas and he played law enforcement in some TV shows in the 80s and 90s

Stugotz

This isn't the first time I've heard someone say they're surprised that Kim is still with Jimmy or that she should leave him and it's quite surprising to me. She stuck with him even after knowing that he doctored those documents, leaving him now when it comes around would be a shitty thing to do. Also she clearly cares for him so why would she dump him because he's going through some problems? Would you guys dump your partner if they find themselves in trouble? It's just weird to me that some people immediately assume she's going to leave him.

Justtired

I’m not sure if it counts, but he’s one of the people in the holding cell with Eddie Murphy in Trading Places. Also, though his character is rather intense, he plays a “good guy” of sorts in Bob Roberts.

Philipp Roensch

If you watch The Big Bang Theory I quit^^, but I guess there are even more borin and offensive reality TV shows. Bertrud is a terrible name, you get it once you watch Violent Night. Oh how wonderful that reveal of Gus is, Mike basically send a security audit resume to get noticed by him :D. Chuck is such a well-developed character, you can see his devotion to the law, but everything else is just gunning to get Jimmy in particular away from it. I'm still on the side his affliction is simulated, or more believable as a stress symptom, which he has because he keeps worrying about Jimmy.

CloudseaDjinn

Giancarlo Esposito plays kind of a goofy criminal in the 1997 movie Nothing to Lose staring Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence that I enjoyed as a kid but I imagine would be a one and done movie for most people.

Jeff K.

Haven't finished the second episode yet so you might land on this, but with the tracker, gas cap, and battery: They didn't swap out the battery, they just swapped out a new tracker inside a new gas cap and took the one that Mike planted with them, leaving a new operational one in Mike's car. So their tracker is back online, but he leaves it at his house so as far as they're aware, he's still there and not following the tracker that he planted.

Brad Lowry

"Untouchables", "Death of Stalin", next season of "Better Call Saul"... Merry Xmas to ME!

Brad Lowry

Giancarlo Espisito not so scary roles: "Brother from another Planet" I think this is Johnathan Sayles first film – and Jonathan Sayles films are like a Repertory Theatre Company! Don't remember specifically,,, You've seen him already in "The Usual Suspects" (much younger) the guy working with the burnt witness that finally gets a composite sketch of Kaiser Sozsay (sp?) that fell to the ground from the fax machine during the reveal. I'm sure there are more....

Jeff K.

I'd also suggest, if they wanna see a different side, it's worth watching some of his interviews. Giancarlo is like, the most smiley, happy-go-lucky dude you've ever seen when he's on talk shows. Just seems like a delightful dude.

Diiirk706

BBT is GREAT, especially the first five seasons. People need to calm down.

Kevin

One day you will put Severance as the in-between BCS show!

Sergio Meira

Wonderful! I didn't know about those. And bonus: if S&G watch these short videos (average 2min each), George will get to see Gus smile!

Sergio Meira

It's true that we live in a time in which even relationships are often evaluated according to the "what's in it for me" rule, and there's a good reason (some people do take advantage of their partners, sometimes in horrible ways). But in principle I agree. I think Kim leaving now would be too... I hesitate to say "selfish", because it isn't really that, but I can't think of a better word.

Sergio Meira

When you put it like this, it sounds like some little-known terror movie about monsters in an abandoned island.

Sergio Meira

People watching BCS often think in terms of what it would take to make Jimmy good, but watching these episodes I suddenly thought, and what would it take to make Chuck bad? Like, actually capable of committing crimes, even if petty?... Maybe just as much, or maybe he does have the 'Slippin' Jimmy' gene in himself, too. I mean, this whole ruse to get Jimmy to come and destroy the tape was just the kind of thing that Slippin' Jimmy did, wasn't it?

Sergio Meira

I'm not sure Chuck is "legally in the right" by trapping Jimmy... Maybe you could see it as a sting operation of sorts, but isn't that something only the police can do? What this episode, nay this entire season makes me think of is, how much these two guys are brothers... what would it have taken for us to have 'Slippin' Chuck' and James the Champion-of-Justice lawyer?

Vwlss Nvwls

Mike knew they would just put a new gas cap with another tracker in, because changing the battery on scene would be too time consuming and risky. But the old gas cap that they would think is their tracker would actually be his tracker, so he could follow where it goes.

Vwlss Nvwls

I do not know what the nicest role that the actor for Gus played, but I do recall seeing him in Trading Places. He was one of the criminals in the jail cell Eddie Murphy was in at the start of the movie. And his character was fairly nice and kind of goofy in that.

REDR58

I would not watch reality show reactions and especially not any kind of child “beauty” pageants as those seem downright exploitative and possibly abusive.

Zedarion

look up "The Keeper" 1995 where he is playing a do good correction officer and law student. Lamont's marriage is already in trouble when he bails out a mysterious Haitian, Jean Baptiste and it goes all downhill from there.

matan ron

Giancarlo Esposito played in a fantasy show called "Once Upon a Time...". His character was so subservient and often ridiculed and humiliated. So much different from Mr Fring.

matan ron

It took Mike like a day and a half to track Fring's drugs operations and find his dead drops. I wonder if he was this effective and driven as a cop.

Guy-on-Couch

I can't wait for Chicanery!!! I love this show so much...glad you guys are loving it as much as me

ProIndy

Gilmore Girls is a great show! There is love for that show too here!

mky

Besides playing "Buggin' Out" in Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing", and many other roles over the years (as already mentioned here), Giancarlo Esposito appeared on "Sesame Street" in 1982 as "Mickey", Big Bird's camp counselor for a multiple-episode story arc, "Big Bird goes to Camp Echo Rock". As far as I know, Mickey didn't kill any other Sesame Street characters. ;)

Mr. Treat

I got December 17th marked on my Callender 😉

Jeff K.

So you, as well, are excited about seeing this chicanery?

Jeff K.

You know, George and Simone, if you guys REALLY want to drive people nuts with shows no one wants reactions for, you should totally watch The Bear and Succession, just to troll people!

Sarah H

NGL if you actually do reality TV a Dance Mom's reaction would go hard 😂

Mr. Treat

Yes I think I am 😏

Jay Willis

Not gonna lie, i'd watch. :P My wife watches that show at least once a year, so my no initial desire of my own I have become a fan and an expert on it. haha.

Jay Willis

Yea i honestly think they were just overthinking it in real time. It wasn't that complex.

myinniemademedoit

For the gas cap, Gus’s guys brought a new tracker already in a gas cap to replace the dead one. They didn’t open up Mikes and take it out, they just replaced the entire cap with a new one, assuming the tracker inside was dead. Gus for sure noticed Jimmy watching his guy. The drop was when Gus walked by sweeping. He didn’t stop at the table with his guy, which was the tip off for his guy to get up and leave.

Dan Holmes

as a die hard Christian i can tell you that I would have no interest in watching a terrible Christian TV Show lol Although I guess I would be curious about George's commentary despite probably disagreeing with all of it, but that could be fun, so... nevermind. I'd watch lol The only thing I don't watch on any reactors channel is if I haven't seen it before, so your best bet would be something that is boring AND no one else has seen lol

burlington towel

you know.. Simone and George are human beings. not your personal entertainment toy. how about show a little decency and respect? you know, as adults do to other adults. secondly, they literally told you at the end of last season exactly when they will return to season 3.

Dan Holmes

I would pay extra to watch you guys watch Toddlers in Tiaras lol

cincassette

If you wan’t to see Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) in a very different role, check out “Night On Earth”. It’s a ‘portmanteau film’, with 5 vignettes that are all separate with different actors/stories but related by a common theme. Very different from the ‘conventional’ feature film, but very enjoyable and well made nevertheless!

Rob Bob

Future business idea: CineBinge branded cinnabon collab. Now I get a 5% cut of all profits ;)

Dan Holmes

that battery convo was hilarious lol

Thomas Yanez

I had to pause the video during the intro to ponder your question... and while there are MANY shows I would never intentionally watch on my own, I can't think of any of them that I wouldn't want to watch you to react to... at least once.

Thomas Yanez

My favorite role of his, after his recent run of top-of-the-line villains, would be Cell Mate #2 in "Trading Places".

Jesse Coombs

Night on Earth is great. I'd love to see them watch other Jim Jarmusch movies as well. Coffee and Cigarettes, Down by Law, and Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai are some of my favorites.

JohnB

I think a show that would be at the top of the list that no one wants to see a reaction to would be something like The Amazing Race. It's not bad enough that people would want to see you suffer, but not good enough that anyone cares to watch someone react to it.

2026-09-05 05:00 I wouldn't mind seeing you two react to Christian TV and cinema. I'm particularly fond of movies by the Christiano brothers.
2024-12-03 23:57

AJ Lynch

Little House on the Prairie

Ste Rawlings

Man if you guys don't realise how awful Jimmy is soon these reactions are going to get very frustrating. You're still awesome though :)

JoeE

Gus had a different type of role in night on earth. He and Mike also had small roles in community. I think Vince Gillian was in an episode also

Max Hassam

I personally think this is the best season in the entire Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe. Or it's at least my favourite. I love in the first episode how they commit to us watching Mike work silently. Mike's story covers just over 20 minutes of screen time in S3E1 yet he has only 11 lines in the whole episode. They trust us to watch and understand his plans etc. In regards to your questions about possible flaws with his plan, Mike did have to assume that they'd replace the whole gas cap with a different tracker, rather than just switch battery. This would be quicker and more surreptitious so maybe it does make sense, but logistically it would mean having to get a new tracking device each time they battery dies. S3E2 is one of my favourites from the whole show. The build up to the Los Pollos reveal! Gus, Francesca & Victor intros :D The visual metaphors with the painted wall - Francesca saying to Jimmy "I think you're a little crooked" and then the tape rolling with Jimmy being reminded about Chuck, doing it the quick & easy way but causing damage as a result. Mwah! About Chuck's plan. He got the confession out of Jimmy so he knew Ernie lied to cover for Jimmy about calling him, so knew that he could manipulate him into leaking the tape to Jimmy in an organic way. He thought Jimmy would try to steal it sneakily, but in his heartlessness he underestimated just how hurt Jimmy would be by the tape :( I think we also learned that Jimmy and Howard aren't built for espionage 😂 And yeah I can't believe they'd make us wait a whole season to find out the outcome of him passing out in a present timeline :O

John Zelinka

Simone and George probably wouldn't like it but I loved it! I'd watch them [fall asleep] to it.

SpankTheMonk

Woo hoo BCS day! 🎉🖖🙌🤘

John Zelinka

I like the name "Gretchen" but I realize I'm in the minority. But does anyone like "Gertrude"? That's my vote for worst. btw: I like "Mabel" too but it is making a comeback among the "hip" people so it is plunging down my list.

Villa Lobos

To piggyback on this the tracker they took was the one Mike bought from the Vet. So he had the tracker to take he put in after he switched it with their one after draining its battery.

Villa Lobos

He has a few fun scenes as one of Christopher Walken’s gang in King of New York. He’s a till a gangster but fun and cool.

Villa Lobos

You two talked about how you could never see Giancarlo Esposito any this but a cool villain. Imagine a lot of us watching Bryan Cranston, playing Walter White. I grew up watching him on Malcom in the Middle and Seinfeld. A good actor can play any role if Hollywood lets them. Too many are told to stay in their lane.

Jesse Coombs

Giancarlo Esposito (Gus), played a good guy in Community. It was only one episode, but he was genuinely tender (and funny). That being said, this is my vote for you guys to react to Community one of these years, lol. There are a lot of actors from stuff you've watched in it, including Better Call Saul. Even Vince Gilligan himself makes a cameo.

2026-09-05 05:00 Great reaction. Lots of fun. It was co to see Gus show up as he did. Looking forward to more of him. It’s not so much Chuck’s “unlikeability” that bothers me, it’s the other characters who have to keep putting up with his “electromagnetic hypersensitivity” nonsense. I don’t think I’d have anywhere near that kind of patience or tolerance for that.
2024-12-04 02:32

Angzarr

Giancarlo Esposito had a recurring role later in the show "Homicide: Life on the Streets" as Al Giardello's son, an FBI agent. As I recall, the character was quite personable and likable, but it's been a while. I would love to see reactions to H:LOTS! An under-appreciated show.

Redrum Ritual

It's funny George mentions being done watching ghost shows or whatever. I feel like we're watching ghost. We're watching characters who died in Breaking Bad. I spotted an actor from Yellowstone in episode one. These episodes were fun to watch suspicious Jimmy not very subtle at all and Francesca over doing Cracker Barrel. I like the part of the 'crooked M."

Angzarr

I guess it's now safe to reveal a secret from Season 2: The first letters of the episode titles are S C A G R B I F N K, which can be rearranged to FRING'S BACK. As for the worst TV to react to, I'm thinking a supercut of 1980s PBS pledge drive segments? A worse circle of hell than even the DMV/MVD!

Max Hassam

I don't think Howard or Ernie have seen any reason so far to doubt its legitimacy & Jimmy puts up with it because he doesn't want to distress Chuck about it (but he'll happily tamper with his documents haha, causing him much distress).

Max Hassam

I think they're very much aware that he's a dodgy person who can't be trusted. But he is also sympathetic I think they've one of the most balanced reactions I've seen. Most people I've seen are fully on the "Fuck Chuck" train at this point aha

Max Hassam

Legally, entrapment is only something Government agents can be found guilty of. But manipulation toward the commission of a crime by a civilian can lead to charges and/or evidence being dropped. I feel like Chuck would be on sound footing, as I'm sure he'd make certain of. He did tell Ernie that he couldn't say anything and so wasn't manipulating him, even though he knew that by telling him so forthrightly, Ernie would speak. But he did have a PI ready and waiting which would imply pre-meditation.

Max Hassam

I think it is a minor flaw. Sure it may take a bit longer, but why not just put a new battery in instead of getting a whole new fuel cap and tracker? I imagine each tracking controller is only linked to one tracker, so every time they switch out they'd have to get a new one. The fact that Mike was gambling on them doing that, any then they did, could possibly be seen as a leap. But this is Gus we're talking about, the man has infinite money so maybe he doesn't care too much.

JCR

I'd love them to watch it too. Especially considering how much they loved The Wire. It was made by the same people, stared a lot of the same people and was kind of a proto Wire.

Max Hassam

I was obsessed with the show for the first 6 seasons and then never watched another episode 😂

Max Hassam

"You want me to commit a felony?! Because that's what you would do! You wanna believe that deep down I'm some hypocrite." I think that line in an earlier argument between them shows that Chuck holds the legal threshold so dearly that he would probably never breach it. Jimmy does what's right whether it's legal or not. Chuck does what's legal, whether it's right or not. I think that's the big difference between the two.

Max Hassam

Don't you dare slam Gavin and Stacey like that 😂

SpankTheMonk

Bottle cap theory on future currency goes way back, great old school episode I think of Duck Tales on it before Fallout. And from what I quickly looked up there were cartoons including classic Scrooge McDuck about the same bottle cap notion. In addition to common items with no intrinsic value becoming currency. The more you know! 🫶🖖🍾

Nathan Jasper

Giancarlo Esposito voices Lex Luthor in the Harley Quinn animated series and the character is so over-exaggerated that it's beyond hilarious. Trust me, Esposito can do comedy

Arthur

I would watch you guys react to The Real Housewives of Hamilton, ON, if you decided to. I'm ride or die.

Sergio Meira

I'm not sure "nonsense" is the best word. I'm sure Chuck is not lying in that his discomfort, pain, and suffering are all very real to him, despite the lack of biological causes. That's the problem with mental conditions: they're serious, too, and we can't turn them off just because they aren't "biologically motivated" -- ask any vet with PTSD.

Sergio Meira

I don't think it's a question of Jimmy 'being' awful. It's more a question of both brothers having elements of each other inside themselves. The more I rewatch season 2, the more I think that a different timeline could have delivered us 'Slippin' Chuck' and James McGill, defender of Justice at HHM.

Sergio Meira

I'd totally go for a Succession watch. Make it a double ticket with Succession and Severance (call it double-S month!) and I'm sold!

Sergio Meira

We all are, but let's not forget to bring a Lantern.

Sergio Meira

That's what makes me feel like Chuck is walking on a thin line here. The PI, the clear agreement with Howard suggesting a "plan"... if this is all proved in court, Chuck wouldn't look good. Which I think is the point. Chuck is using 'Slippin' Jimmy' plans and strategies, with attempts to make them legally acceptable, but still. He's kind of admitting, despite all his pro-Law discourse, there are moments when doing the right thing would mean breaking it, or at least coming very close to breaking it. Either that, or it's really a personal thing and he's just real angry at his younger brother. :-)

Sergio Meira

Please! Please do so! I'd even argue, between Seasons 5 and 6? (Though I wouldn't mind if you did it right now, between Seasons 3 and 4!)

Tenn Seven

They wouldn't have to "get a new tracking device each time the battery dies," they would need a total of two tracking devices (or three, since they had one in his station wagon as well as his sedan). You just swap the dead one for a live one when needed, replace the battery in the dead one, rinse and repeat.

Max Hassam

Good point. Makes it slightly more plausible :D

JoeE

You should check out god awful movies

BangDroid

The Nanny, which I really do love, but it would make for terrible reaction content. Or if you're feeling brave, the Turkish remake, Dadi.

Trevor S Bright

I do remember Giancarlo Esposito played 1 of the Fed investigating Keyser Soze in "The Usual Suspects", so there's a good guy. I haven't seen a lot of his work, but the funniest I've seen him is in a commercial for Netflix where a bunch of people are describing their favorite Netflix original shows, and Giancarlo is describing the "Wednesday" dance.

Noel Valdez

My fav show is back! Also Giancarlo in Do The Right Thing is very different then a lot of the stuff he gets typecasted in now. Lol

Ste Rawlings

Totally agree about them being about as balanced as it gets. I'm more so saying this with the knowledge that this season has what was the moment of no return with me for Jimmy and his actions.

Brian Sittler

It’s a beautiful thing seeing you two watch this show!

Noel Valdez

One of my fav episodes of the series is coming up soon! Episode 5.

Tom M

Yea I think this is what happened. When Mike was watching in the window, the guy didn’t linger long. He prob swapped a whole new gas cap with new tracker. As far as the bad guys know, they’re tracking Mike with a new tracker and eventually they’ll swap the battery in MIKE’s tracker in their possession and realize it’s not theirs but in the meantime, Mike tracks them. However, assumes they wouldn’t swap batteries outside Mikes house and assumes they wouldn’t swap batteries before Mike can track. Then again, they might think Mike’s tracker is just broken.

james repka

Also, his role as an underground journalist in Bob Roberts.

james repka

As did Lance Reddick and Michael K. Williams from The Wire.

Noel Valdez

Haven't seem that! Need to check it out!

Travis H

Finally caught back up on your BCS coverage (damn life distracting me)! But more importantly: For shows that wouldn’t be good as a reaction video there are very few shows that wouldn’t, most shows have some kind of loyal audience. The secret would be to find a show that’s audience is primarily older men that don’t typically know how to use the internet. My pick would be something like Blue Bloods. You would think reality shows would make for bad reaction videos, but reality tv fans are some of the most online people ever. Edited reaction videos could become a big hit and I don’t think many people are doing them.

BigGuy209

cool little fact the theme song is made by Little Barrie and the full song is great. it even has lyrics.

Jim Johnson

The next poll for the in between BCS TV show should just be all of the shows you mentioned in the opening.

Chris DeLuca

The song ("Sugar Town" by Nancy Sinatra) that opens the first episode of S3 alludes to the use of LSD, which was commonly taken on a sugar cube before paper or blotter acid became popular. Basically Nancy is singing about an acid trip

Rob Bob

This show is so great. Breaking bad is a bit more up and down, but BCS is a very consistent increase in quality season after season. I can't pick a favourite, though. They're ALL my favourite.

Justin Leone

According to Google's AI overview, the contenders for most boring shows are: The Price is Right Home Shopping Network Fishing Shows Wheel of Fortune Bowling Shows Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of the AI Overview, but in this case, I think it's given a pretty compelling answer to that question.

Justin Leone

Giancarlo Esposito had a very sympathetic role in Bob Roberts, a movie about a disingenuous right-wing folk singer-turned-politician (played by Tim Robbins). Esposito plays a journalist who's investigating his criminal dealings.

Nathan Jasper

The Price is Right is peak game show television, AI is overrated 😆

JBK405

As time passes, I come back more and more to the wisdom of the Dude from "The Big Lebowski": "You're not wrong [Chuck], you're just an asshole".

Sckmnky

I cracked up...Wasn't the actor for Gus, a simp for Queen Latifa in The Last Holiday? I actually saw him in that first as a kid so it actually makes it even more odd to see him as the robot that he is in Breaking Bad.
