Yeah, I could see Simone being a bird lady... (Speaking of the bird lady - Brenda Fricker - while I could recommend her Oscar-winning performance in My Left Foot, I'm choosing to use this time to recommend George and Simone check out a DIFFERENT film of hers, So I Married an Axe Murderer...)

Love this movie! Makes sense that it feels like Harry Potter at times, it's Christopher Columbus after all. He made the first two Harry Potter movies :)

There's almost nothing that's similar aside from the characters. Plus the sequel is superior to the first one anyway.

The other Wet Bandit is Daniel Stern. He’s most famous, outside of this, for being the narrator for the show The Wonder Years, but you guys should definitely check out one of his first roles (might have even been his first), Breaking Away. One of my favorite movies ever and one of the best coming of age films of all-time. It’s so good. Won an Oscar for its screenplay.

I think there is a video on youtube of a doctor analysing all the injuries Kevin inflicted on the two bandits, and he basically found that if it was was anything close to reality, Kevin would have definitely committed a double homocide that night 😂 But you are right, this one is better than the first. They figured out the formula well and went with what worked, just increasing it more.

Ok, so I was definitley watching the old version of the reaction, and must have started before links were swapped because I was seeing so much conversation about technical difficulties, which I didn't think too much about at first but it went on for a long time and thought "I don't think we were meant to see this part LOL. Did the ol' refresh/resync so it's all good now XD. It was nice to get a BTS of how the sausage is made tho, I imagine these types of connection issues have to happen from time to time.

I’ve never understood getting to the airport super early. I usually show up 60-90 minutes pre flight and have time to get food/drink, if wanted, with time to spare before boarding. Never been in danger of missing a flight ever, aside from the time I couldn’t get a cab in NYC, but that’s a different story

yaaa pretty much, at times discord connection fizzles out and we stop hearing eachother. and by the time we realize we havent heard from eachother for a while, we have to pause, restart discord and roll the movie back by a few minutes because we dont know when the connection got lost. and we try to repeat what we said as we have to assume the other person didnt hear any of it. not to mention when the connection is lost, theres a high chance that in the recording we are just talking over eachother about different subjects, making the that part of the footage useless.

It's about 3 hours early now for TransAtlantic flights. We arrived 2 hours early for a US domestic flight and it took 2 hours just to get to the checkin desk. The line was that long.

16 hours should be plenty of time to visit some places outside the airport; a train will take you to the centre of Zurich within 15 min, or to the centre of Winterthur within 20 min in the opposite direction. Actually, 16 hours is long enough to ride a train from one end of Switzerland to the other side and back again. It's really quite a lot smaller than Canada, though we do have twice as many states.

Shout out to Julie Bowen (the airline clerk), my man John Williams the composer was actually the conductor at the Christmas orchestra, President Donald Trump as the guy giving Kevin directions at the plaza upon arrival. Side note that I heard that Kevin actually ate a lot of mashed potatoes rather than ice cream during his scene with the ice cream.

Initially, I hated the repetition of stuff from the first, but it just somehow wins you over at some point. I loved the story with the bird lady, that seemed far more effective and touching to me than the equivalent in the first. And Brenda Fricker, who played the bird lady is very fondly remembered over here in the UK playing a major role in "Casualty" (which is a bit like our verison of "ER") - so that helped.

there was a french movie from 1989 that is pretty much the original Home Alone, a bit more violent so not so much for kids. its pretty great too. its called "Deadly Games" or "Dial Code Santa Claus" (the movie has so many names)
