Okay, fixed now. Sorry bout that!

Emily G

Yay! Excited you guys are watching this. You should also check out The Producers (2005 version) it’s funny and I think you’d like it.

Maiki

The airport lady is indeed Ally Sheedy. Watched this one so many times and I never noticed.

Reid Mclellan

Ok, on the subject of characters from other movies or shows appearing in this film... that does technically happen...cause I haven't actually watched sex and the city, but I do know who appears in it, so technically... cause he is playing the same character

Zaj

It's kinda funny how no one noticed Donald Trump talking to Kevin, hah. :D

burlington towel

its honestly for the best. we're here for movie reactions, not politics, and with someone that divisive, no matter what they say or dont say will result in someone somewhere getting angry.

mpd

Fun bit of New York trivia; it is sometimes referred to as "the city that never sleeps"

Odd Thomas

Tim Curry movies to watch next: Congo, and The Shadow

Odd Thomas

Bruce Willis sort of did a John McClane cameo in another film, but I won't spoil which. For more Ally Sheedy you should check out Short Circuit.

Brandon

Did they not even notice Trump giving Kevin directions in the hotel lobby? I kind of envy that. 🤣 One thing I miss about the first movie is that every single character had Chicago accents, including some of Kevin's siblings (a few don't though, like Buzz). The cops, the check-out clerk at the grocery store, the guy in the Santa outfit etc. all had that accent. At the same time I'm really glad that they didn't fill this sequel full of over-exaggerated New York accents with a bunch of people like "eyyy I'm walkin' heah, watch whea ya goin' kid!" Daniel Stern was pretty well known in the late 80's-90's as the actor that did the voice-over narration in every episode of The Wonder Years. You never see him on camera, but he's the adult version of Fred Savage's character telling the story. He even did a cameo in the 2nd season of The Simpsons when they did a parody of the show in one scene. Bart is staring off in to the distance while the narration plays and Homer snaps, "Bart! What are you staring at?!?" It's the episode where Bart, Milhouse and Martin pool their money to buy Radioactive Man #1. Do a search on Youtube for 'Simpsons Wonder Years" and you'll find it.

Tenwyn

Aww man you guys missed the President's cameo! I think he owned the Plaza Hotel at the time.

iamweasel

The movie was directed by the same director as two first Harry Potter movies.

King_Panarisi

They are from Canada, "The President" doesn't mean anything if you don't specify from what country.

Justtired

Daniel Stern is a fantastic actor. A few of his movies I love include: City Slickers (1991) Breaking Away (1979) Diner (1982) Blue thunder (1983) He was also in the rather silly horror movie C.H.U.D. (1984) with John Heard (kevin’s dad) Eddie Bracken (Mr Duncan, the toy store owner) also played Wally World owner Roy Walley in National Lampoon’s Vacation

beefjerkywizard

I love my family but get a bit overwhelmed with gatherings so being a nurse I don't mind when I have to work holidays. It means I get to ration my time Christmas day and everyone understands.

John

This has one of my favorite Christmas song's "Christmas Star" a John Williams banger. I hope you enjoy your break and if it hasn't already been recorded. I would recommend The Long Kiss Goodnight. The actor who plays Kevin's father is in the Pelican Brief with Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

I love how they ignored the orange turd, also I watched until Home Alone 3 which I considered being a good movie on its own(it was Scarlett Johansson's first movie), the original script of the movie showed the pigeon lady knew the cops and they invited her back to their christmas party

JokerDanny

Home Alone 3 is actually decent, the rest are dog shit

AJ Lynch

to be fair you do get young scar jo in the 3rd one

Jasbro

I remember this movie being more wholesome than the first one but i was not expecting it to wreck Simone as much as it did lol.

Ashton Lewis

Glad you liked this one! Home alone 3 is great too though and I would suggest you give it a watch anyway (even on your own time if no one ever votes for it) because the shenanigans are absolutely hilarious

Jordan Paler

I'm glad you guys finally got around to this one - I loved the first one, but Lost in New York is everything I love about Christmas, while building on what the first one brought. This movie had so many wholesome and heartwarming moments, that really bring a lot of aspects of the good deeds people do for each other, or what you can do for others - Duncan's philanthropy and generosity, Kevin reaching out to the Pidgeon Lady and fighting to make sure the Children's Hospital get the money they deserve. All while still preserving the general themes of reconciliation and forgiveness Kevin has with his Mom and family. Definitely one of my favorite yearly Christmas movies, if not the top of my list :)

REDR58

Also Legend (1985) by Ridley Scott featuring Tom Cruise and Tim Curry. I don’t think it’s a great movie but Curry is magnificent in it and worth a watch just for his performance.

REDR58

The orange turd is best ignored. Especially when it is inflicted upon us on an exhaustingly daily basis.

REDR58

Blue Thunder is worth a watch just for the real helicopter stunts in a city that will probably never be done again with real aircraft. And Roy Scheider is always great.

Gunnar Rea

I was today years old when i realized that the female hotel staff is the villain with the phony German accent from Addams Family..

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

One of my favourite sequels and I’m so glad you guys enjoyed this one because I’ve always been in a minority opinion at this end of the world feeling like it’s a superior film to the first. To be fair Tim Curry automatically adds to that preference haha. Also recommend checking out Daniel Stern in City Slickers 1 and 2 because he’s brilliant with Billy Crystal

Max Krause

There are two things I can't believe about this reaction: 1. that they casually missed the Annoying Orange's cameo and 2. how awesome George's T-Shirt is! I had to rewind the beginning for a minute because I had just been staring at hobo Gandalf and Gollum without listening :D

E. D.

the whole score is great, john williams is the goat

Charlie Ito

I liked when the kitty was purring because Joe Pesci's head exploded. Also fun to watch as an adult and understand how excruciating the physical comedy would be in real life, lol. Relatable in a new way!

Mark Alex Leach

In UK, we have Boxing Day as a public holiday, so we don't have to rush around trying to see everyone on Christmas Day. So most people get together the day after and share left overs, which are a lot more relaxed.

dys

It did look like they just missed that cameo but it could be they did notice and just didn't want to mention it for fear of stirring up a political thing.

Mark Alex Leach

After watching Trump's whole Hollywood career, I gave up on watching the movie and watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre to make myself feel better for Christmas.

Simone's Coconut Squire

To be fair, the director crammed it in and tried to make it as inconspicuous as possible as you-know-who was insisting on being put in the movie.

Kevin B

lol when they requested to film in the Plaza Hotel, Trump only allowed it on the condition that he be in the movie. Someone better tell George I have located the character with no purpose, the wasted character hahaha

Ricardo Alanis

The line in the movie within the movie about “Lindy” needing two planes to cross the ocean of her love was a reference to Charles Lindbergh crossing the atlantic by plane.

simon brouillard

« It » the miniserie with Tim Curry as pennywise (I don’t remember if it was good but I can still see him terrifying me as a kid), « the rocky horror picture show ».  « Big » with Tom Hanks great toy store and weird as in oh no thats what’s actually happening

mky

The youngest kid, Fuller, is played by Kieran Culkin (Macaulay's little brother), who has obviously had a great career since. Among many other roles, he played Wallace (Scott Pilgrim's roommate), Roman Roy on Succession, and can currently be seen in Jesse Eisenberg's movie "A Real Pain", playing Jesse's character's brother.

REDR58

Lindbergh was first the person to fly alone and nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean from New York to Paris on May 20 to 21, 1927.

REDR58

That, or they didn’t recognize him because he’s so ghoulish looking now.

mky

"Breaking Away" is one of my favorite movies, and "Diner" is a gem, too. Daniel Stern will always come first to mind as the voice of the Wonders Years for me, too.

Chase Schleich

OMG that handheld recorder Kevin has in this movie.... that thing got ungodly popular after this movie came out. It was called the "Talkboy" It didn't actually exist, but Tiger Electronics made a prototype for this film because John Hughes wanted Kevin to have a way to "outsmart" adults and be able to get his hotel room. It was very obvious that demand would be high for an actual functioning recorder like that so they were made and released along side the film. I had one. It didn't do any of the tricks that Kevin's does. It's basically just a sound recorder using a tape and the microphone. You could record things, rewind, play back, fast forward. Basic as hell, but I loved that thing as a kid lol

BigGuy209

What a great reaction from you guys. if you want some more movies from Daniel Stern you need to watch City Slickers (1991), City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly’s Gold (1994), Rookie of the Year (1993), Breaking Away (1979). Home Alone 3 is not that bad but it’s not on the same level as the first two movies. it’s just ok.

Eric Tanaka

Chris Columbus and John Williams can really bring that great Christmas vibe. They did HP 1 and 2 so that'll be why it feels so similar

Chase Schleich

STOP! No more Home Alone's. The others are direct to video cash grabs. I think one of them might have went to theaters, but they're trash made for TV movies. The first 2 are the only Home Alone movies that anyone should watch.

Redrum Ritual

I'm glad you two loved this movie. Even though you waited two years to finally watch it lol. I still remember seeing Home Alone 2 in theaters as a little kid. I laughed hysterically as a kid at Marv turning Skeleton. I don't see why some people don't like this movie just because it's "the same story again." Probably the same people who don't know how to enjoy a movie anymore. Things are altered and stuff added to up the fun and the wholesome feeling. People seeing the friendship with the Pigeon queen and Kevin and didn't like this movie? I highly recommend watching Home Alone 3 and stop after that lol. It's not bad. I think the reason it flopped is because they called it Home Alone 3 but it's a totally different movie with characters not related in anyway to the the original two films. It probably get better reviews had they not call it Home Alone. The little boy Max from Liar Liar is the lead character and there's four thieves this time. I saw a video clip of Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, and David Harbour answering questions about each other. David was asked what was Scarlett's first movie role and he didn't know the answer. They told him Home alone 3 and he's like "there was a third one?' lol

Raven Dark

This was a great reaction, guys. So good. Please stop here. The others are terrible.

ScottishSammo

Thought this was hilarious, I also used to watch 'The Pagemaster' with Macaulay Culkin and 'Uncle Buck' with him and John Candy. Some classic movies

Paul Peavler

I’ve seen this movie literally dozens of times in my life, and this is the first time I realized that the family was staying in a crappy motel because Kevin had the dad’s credit cards and wallet, so the uncle had to cover them and he took them to where he went on his honeymoon, which sucks because he’s cheap.

Daryl

Yet it was easy for all 11 of them to book a last minute flight to New York on Christmas eve 🤨🤨🤨🤨

Pearl Jam

So the only movies that come to mind as far as having characters that crossover but the stories themselves are not connected would be Jay and Silent Bob.

Bekka NoyB

After seeing intro: to quote Willow (from Buffy) "Say, you all didn't happen to do a bunch of drugs, did ya?" :D Been to both Florida & NYC. I'd take that trade any day! You both should really visit NYC someday! Those 2 criminals would be dead from those boobytraps!

sahliente

My favorite example of this is Micheal Keaton playing the same FBI character in both Jackie Brown and Out of Sight. I think it's the only time that an actor not only plays the same character in two different movies that are no way narratively connected, but also both movies are done by two different directors and produced by two different studios.

BangDroid

I'm not sure where "Gus's lover" came from. I don't recall Breaking Bad explicitly making this point 🤔

JarHead0351

Here is a fun one "harold and kumar a very merry christmas"

twe

Being threatened to subscribe like that, they'd have to be a cold soul not to... that gave me neck cramp from laughing so hard

Logan Kerlee

lmao, it ain't that bad George. I mean - it can really be stressful but that's just how it goes. I hardly ever see my family - more often than some but less often than many others. Thankfully my family isn't too large and I don't have to deal with too much chaos. That and my mom passed last year - so yeah - now I'm stuck going to see my dad and ALL of the people that will be there. xD Again, not thaaat many - but either way it'll be like 5 plus people and for me that's just too many for me. xD Either way though - I'll do my best to enjoy the Christmas with them! :) :P Wow - yeah, no - that uncle sounds like a jackass George! I'd just not talk with him if at all possible. My family is TINY in comparison to yours, George! I've avoided the kid nonsense thanks to my divorce. xD I mean - yeah, I'd LOVE to have children but it's kind of hard to do that solo and I haven't been looking for any relationships so I don't see anything like that happening. Eventually though children will be a question by them - I'm the ONLY son out of my ENTIRE FAMILY. That's some ridiculous nonsense. I have FOUR different uncles - ALL OF THEM had children, at least two - I was the only son out of the entire mix. Ughhhhhhh.. hahahaha, just how it goes though, I guess. :P lmao, don't worry Simone - you're fine! I went to the same place as you George. :) HAPPY CHRYSLER EVERYONE!! This movie was always my favorite of the Home Alone movies! Not only did I prefer the hijinks in the movie I also really enjoyed the traps he set up! :) Kevin's so great! xD hahaahahaha, I love you guys! lmao, you two always make me laugh and I'm very grateful! :) This movie's pretty intense! John McClane would be such an awesome addition. I TELL YOU WHAT!! xD xDDDD hahahahahaha, LORD! Simone you're now lady Boomhauer (King of the Hill reference)! Good memory George! I'm pretty sure that their house is in Chicago. :) Yeah - no, I've never been late for a flight! Don't worry Simone - I'm right there with you! I'd of been scared out of my mind. Watching this as an adult is so crazy! lmao - wow. Those were fireworks! RIP towers. :( Yup, you both were right on Chicago! :) Yup, good memory Simone! :) YOU GUYS MISSED DONALD TRUMP!! xD hahahaha, I mean, neither of you are American but still. :P It was, yeah! Rob Schneider is his name, if memory serves. Good job on remembering his name George! I didn't get a close look at the picture either. I'm not sure if it's an actual toy store either, like I said it's been a number of years since I've watched this. :) SUPER wholesome, yeah! <3 That big always makes me feel so happy. :) Those pearls would cause incredible pain if you fell on them! This movie is one of the reasons why I love Die Hard so much! xD Tim Curry does an excellent job playing that character! lol, THIS toy store is creepy but a Toys 'R Us would've been incredible. :) I've been looking forward to these scenes for a good bit now! :) Love the bricks falling from the roof! lol, I like Kevin's strategy here! If that was a nail gun he'd of been dead! xD Though, that fall also would've been a death sentence as well. Simone! lmao, wow! Totally heard your kitty purr around the 90 minute mark. lol, no his name isn't John Hurd. I don't remember his name but I'm confident that isn't his name. If it is, I'll leave this bit on here. Good memory Simone! Glad that you remembered that! :) Part of the reason why I loved this so much has to do with how wholesome all of this is. I'M SO GLAD THAT YOU BOTH SIDE WITH ME ON THINKING THIS ONE'S BETTER!! How does a kid of that age know the word omnipresent? xD Great comparison, George! :) Okay - yup! You both are my favorite people when it comes to Christmas movie reactions! <3 This movie doesn't fail in anything. Every bit of it was excellent. :) This is the last Home Alone that you two should watch. LUL Despite that actress - it's NOT WORTH IT! xD I'll gladly repeat myself next year if ya'll somehow forget. :P

BangDroid

What the heck? I swear I posted this on BCS episode. I haven't even watched Home Alone 2 yet... Anyway, me and my friends never got that impression and it was never raised in the dozens and dozens of conversations I've had about the show. Actually future events in BCS were the only time discussions were had about it.

Chase Lonnergan

The "Large loving family in another city" is from George Burns. Although he said "State" in the original quote. Lol.

Tanx

hehe the "story topper" is probably what everyone I know calls a "one upper." basically anything you say or do or buy, they say they have done something slightly better or have something slightly better or will go out of their way to do or buy something better than you do right after. I remember when this was in the theater, it was the first movie I went to where I had to buy tickets way ahead of the showing. we went to go see the first showing of the day and they were sold out until the last showing at like 10:30 pm. And this was 1 of 3 theaters in my town, the others were sold out until like 8pm the next day. think I saw this 3 times in the theater with 3 different friend groups.

Kate Suhr

I was hoping you'd watch this after the first Home Alone movie last year but so glad you decided to save it for this year. I think this is better than the first if nothing else because the traps are so much funnier though the big metal bar that hits them directly in the mouth always made me cringe and think "yep they have no front teeth now".

Kate Suhr

If ypu get a chance another fun movie to watch is Midnight Madness. It's about 5 teams of like 5 people each who all take part in an over the top scavenger hunt set up by this guy Leon who has planned everything down to the last detail for about 5 years. It also has a young Michael J Fox in it who was 18 at the time but being so young looking he played a 14 year old I think.

Kate Suhr

I had a talk boy when I was a kid. I remember it being popular at one time.
