The last weekly polls winner will be available this Saturday.Reminder: movies that don't win does not mean they will never be watched, it just means they will be watched later. Please be respectful to each others opinions, we're all just here to have fun and watch movies :)

Comments

Chase Lonnergan

And it's the GOOD Footloose, too! I hope it wins.

Rokkor X

Come on, wanted Dirty Dancing! (This comment new only to George)

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Saturday Night Fever’s a great drama and has got an incredible soundtrack. That Travolta… damn, that man can dance. Some Footloose would go down a treat too!

Boyan Konov

I dont know if you guys are doing anything for Black History month but would love to see reactuons about any of the following: Judas and the black messiah, Malcolm X, Just Mercy, Moonlight and Selma.

Michael Gryphon

Singing in the Rain has some of the best dance sequences in history.

Mastervodo

Looks like no matter what - Simone will be doing a lot of sing-a-long songs!

JOEDATOR

“Saturday Night Fever” is happy-go-lucky, toe tappin’ feel-good, light-hearted fun for the whole family!

Adam Vialpando

Ya gotta put Sweeney Todd on the next poll

Mastervodo

Love me some Footloose!

Senec

I'm noticing a pattern here. Simone loves her some musicals. In that case, bump for Little Shop of Horrors, my favorite musical :)

Z. Mulls

Conspicuously missing ALL THAT JAZZ and CABARET, but hopefully we'll get to them

Kyuzou

wow thats a massively even poll, hoping for the dirty dancing classic personally

Farbod

La La Land is a phenomenal film.

Christopher Carson

Apparently Simone likes musicals. I've never noticed her singing during reactions... weird.

cincassette

"Singing in The Rain" is a definite must watch! Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor were so incredible and effortless in their dance sequences, only matched by the likes of Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth! True perfectionists in their craft! And of course not forgetting Bob Fosse! "Sweet Charity", "Cabaret" and "All That Jazz"! I don't personally care too much for Dance, but there's something so mesmerising about watching these auteurs and luminaries in the peak of their careers! Each dance sequence feels like something wholly original! These dancers had such intentional control over their bodies in the heyday of Hollywood musicals, just like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan in their prime, or Buster Keaton and Chaplin during the silent era. As much as I love "La La Land", the dancing really doesn't compare. That being said, I'd be happy with anything on this poll! "Dirty Dancing" is another gem!

Smooticus

Gee. Only George is the one who hasn't seem most of these. I'm s hocked

Rob Parry

Any plans on watching Walk the Line (2005)? I remember that finishing in 2nd place in a poll a few months back.

Jared Winn

Even if it doesn’t win, Singing in the Rain needs to be on the seen eventually.

R. Chang

I came in here excited to vote for Strictly Ballroom, one of the best dance movies ever made and was disappointed that it wasn't listed. Still, lots of good options, but you should consider it for a future poll.

JoeE

Would also recommend sing street, little shop of horrors, rocky horror

Fly Ωhms

Who's poll dancing, Simone?? I can get behind this... fuck it, I'm down for George too! YOLO

Roddy Hutchinson

Should eventually see Top Hat (1935) Some of the Fred Astaire, Ginger Rodgers movies. But can't really go wrong from this list.

John

Breakin’ would be fun

Jasbro

Should have just called this a "New to George" poll, but i voted for Dirty Dancing, classic Swayze.

guyincognito

Has Simone seen All That Jazz? If not a great addition to future polls.

Adam K

Still holding out hopes for Spielberg’s version of West Side Story. Maybe Simone hasn’t seen it, and we all know George hasn’t.

guyincognito

If only to finally get to Breakin Two The Electric Boogaloo.

John

I second Malcolm X, would add Glory, In the Heat of the Night

Spence Lee

When do we get the Simone hair-length poll?

Cc Decc

Aha! From all of the "New Only to George"'s i see that we have found Simone's true wheelhouse. First of all, since neither of you have seen it, Saturday Night Fever is really a quality movie. I mean, beyond the iconic dancing. Its a strong drama with complex characters and something to say. It would be a good watch. Of the fun previously watched choices its almost a tossup, but I'm going to throw a vote behind one of my favorite pieces of 80s cheese, Flashdance. Its ridiculous, and fun, and sexy, and an underdog story, and has one of the best soundtracks of the 80s. It should have made Jennifer Beals into a big star, but famously she didn't want it, and dropped out to do arthouse movies. My mom worked with a guy who grew up with the lead actor. It also, btw, is credited with helping to popularize breakdancing.

GORDON MORSE

Missing from this list: Mad Hot Ballroom (Documentary) and Strictly Ballroom

MR

It's totally missing "Dancer in the Dark" (2000)

rictus grin

going with Saturday Night Fever as neither have seen it

Rob Church

Dancer in the Dark is SOOOO good. Although I do understand why it wasn't included. Totally different vibe but good call!

Rob Church

I never pick the films one of them has already seen. Just not as fun to watch.

Jeff I.

On that theme, don't forget about "12 Years A Slave"!

Chase Schleich

Let's not lol. Not a fan of dancing movies, at least none I can think of.

King_Panarisi

You know what, Ill watch whatever wins just to torture myself.

John

I would also suggest for a future poll along this theme. The Wiz and Newies

jmundt33a

I’m okay with any of these movies except La La Land. The end of that sent me into a rage spiral. And I still get angry thinking about it.

Itbewhatitbe

1. Patreon comments: "try something different! everyone always does the same movies! give us something different!" 2. Cinebinge listens and does something different. 3. Patreon comments: "not like this! why is it not different the way i personally wanted?!"

CorpusD

Saturday Night Fever started a large revival of musical movies. It may have been inspired by the Bob Fosse version of Chicago though.

Odd Thomas

(Clint Eastwood unimpressed meme)

MPH

What about Step It Up 2: The Streets?

Ryan Alexander

A musical poll without "The Producers" (2005) For shame!

silverarrow06

"Singin' In The Rain" is the best of them all - by far! 😊

Rob Church

Breakin 2 I would actually be so psyched for

Inkpendude

New only to George (2025)

rtt143

How bout “shall we dance”

Monarch Black

A dance poll and no "Cuban Fury" from Nick Frost and Ian McShane? (Actually not surprising, but it's an overlooked good time and should be added to a list of potentials.)

REDR58

Saturday Night Fever and Flashdance especially need more love.

REDR58

Generally agreed unless it’s a movie where the person who has seen it already has forgotten all about the movie, but yes I wish we could steer away from movies that one of them has seen.

Steven Cavanagh

It's not related to a movie, but I think you would enjoy Amazon's Secret Level series. It's an anthology series based on Video Games by the creators of Love, Death, and Robots.

Maiki

Sing Street would be so so great! Haven't seen it for a while, but listen to the amazing songs every now and then.

Justtired

I hope you watch all of these at some point. The YouTube edits should be interesting 🤣😂

Jeff Norwood-Brown

Yeah. Bit rubbish from me as I voted for nearly all of them. You really need to watch them all to build up your Pop Culture knowledge. Especially Saturday Night Fever, then go back and rewatch every comedy you’ve ever watched.

JayF

White Knights (1985, tap and ballet) would have been a nice one for this poll.

John

You might also like High Score on Netflix about the hx of various video games and genres

David Nesbit

They’re all good, but George would probably prefer Flashdance.

HeyHeyJK

Really want "La La Land" to win but I live here, so I get to experience people dancing during traffic jams all the time anyway. One that's legitimately missing from this poll is Spielberg's remake of "West Side Story". Masterfully directed (of course) remake of the original. "Saturday Night Fever" is a pop culture phenomenon but parts of the script certainly haven't aged well. Doesn't look like it will win anyway, so there ya go.

Jonathan thomas

Good rom-com TV series is Sex-Education - you guys will love it!!

SpankTheMonk

I, human, detect pattern in selections. 🦧

Tay Schumaker

Chicago is a pretty perfect adaptation from stage to screen

China Andronicus

The dancing may be great in Saturday Night Fever but the storyline is just….well, it’s something. One of the films I’ve been most let down by, having the reputation it does and then the storyline it has.

China Andronicus

It’s not a musical poll, it’s a dance movie poll. I ADORE the Producers, but it’s not a big dance movie.

China Andronicus

I wish it was doing better. So many people brush that film off, but it’s honestly really good.

China Andronicus

Sing Street is brilliant! Not a dance movie, though. Good for a musicals poll!

Johnnycharco

Would've liked to have seen the original Hairspray on this poll, that's a dancey good time and really funny too. :)

Happy Hanukkah

I saw the movie, and I remember many people not enjoying the ending, but I don't remember anything about it myself. Which itself might not be a glowing recommendation. I was one of the people lemon-facing about the ending of Notting Hill.

Happy Hanukkah

Yes indeed. (Minor correction: White Nights.) It's also a cold-war-era thriller. Stars Mikhail Baryshnikov, not too far from his peak, and Gregory Hines. Surely Simone wants to see more of "The Russian" from Sex and the City! :-)

Happy Hanukkah

As preparation against this kind of surprise, I'd recommend newcomers actually listen to Stayin' Alive, particularly the bridge. [SPOILER] No, this wasn't meant as a joking spoiler. :-)

Rachel W

"Hair"(1979), with so many iconic songs, the Age of Aquarius, Let the Sunshine In. And is a message movie but still has humor.

Happy Hanukkah

"Poll: Lets Dance!" - Benny Goodman - Chris Montez - David Bowie - Chris Rea

Wicked Wookie

This...is not my cup of tea by any stretch. Ya'll have fun with these.

jmundt33a

Then you might really like triple L’s ending. It’s the anti-Notting Hill. Conversely, I LOVED Notting Hill, including the ending. My favorite from both Roberts and Grant.

Michael Johnson

What about a "none of the above option" 😁

Opti_Frog

I vote Moulin Rouge. 😛

Bruce Woodcock

I agree, Moulin Rouge! should be on here!

Beddoe

ooo... interesting choice ! +1

Christina Doxstader

Of course Simone has seen most of these. Footloose or Dirty Dancing are the obvious choices here though

Steve Mercier

New Only to George...that's a really good movie. Love the choreography.

Bookwormy

Chicago is amazing

Happy Hanukkah

"It’s the anti-Notting Hill." As far as I'm concerned, we can put NH and LLL together and have them cancel each other out of existence, like matter and anti-matter. :-)

Mike FromOz

I hope either Chicago or Saturday Night Fever win, as they're both new to both of you. Travolta absolutely cuts some awesome dance moves. For alternative movies involving dancing, I can thoroughly recommend the Japanese film "Shall we dance?" (1996). Really well performed and has won a ton of awards. Don't watch the Richard Gere 2004 remake, it's nowhere near as good.

Jordan Barnes

Chicago is a great movie, I rewatched it recently and as an adult I’m able to appreciate so many more details than I ever did as a teenager. As I’m typing this I remember having listened to the soundtrack quiiiite a few times then.

Odd Thomas

Umbrellas of Cherbourg

Grinznmore

This is a tough choice which should tell ya, we like musicals.

Matthew Johnson

Voting for Singing in the Rain because I looooove when you guys watch classic Hollywood films! Hope to see more on the channel

Ron

Could we add All That Jazz (1979)?

Raymond DeGraw

Love the poll... Always looking forward to seeing your reactions. Hoping for these in the near future... 1. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) 2. Falling Down 3. R.E.D. 4. Secondhand Lions 5. Flash Gordon

Jesse Coombs

All That Jazz is a masterpiece.

E G

Surprised Bring It On isn't on this list.

Brandon Meng

Oh wow, very much and pleasantly surprised Chicago is doing so well! Outstanding movie. For a future musical poll, you should consider Moulin Rouge or Les Miserables. Please also consider the following which have love themes for February: Perks of Being a Wallflower Forgetting Sarah Marshall About Time Blue Valentine Love Actually Silver Linings Playbook 500 Days of Summer Cheers!

LLGam

In my top 5

Jonathan Wyman

I voted for Chicago because I think it works best when it's new to both of you. It's a good show, too.

Foggy

all of the above!!

Tom M

I have a good one for a poll—was just reminded of it because it was on my Vizio homepage: insane 1994 action movie with Ice-T, Rutger Hauer, Busey. Haven’t thought about this in decades but was a fav among my friends as a teen.

nossieboy

Not a lot of Flashdance fans I see....

Tenn Seven

Apparently Simone is really into movies with dancing and George... not so much.

Slick

What? No Step Up? Lame....

Slick

Or even a Save the Last Dance

Cc Decc

When you are a great graceful prodigy like George, it is hard to pull much enjoyment from watching actors bungle around on film with a relative two left feet.

Dan Holmes

CLIMAX (2018) needs to be on this list and win it also Black Swan :)

Adam Wetstein

chicago is a pute musical while SNF is a tragedy

Honey Hermsen

Can please, for once my vote actually win? 😢

jmundt33a

Seconded on About Time and Love Actually. I like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, though the concept and character of Aldous Snow grate on me.

Stephanie Bedworth

I desperately wish that Cuban Fury was on this list.

beefjerkywizard

Good news for you is they already watched Black Swan

beefjerkywizard

Surviving the Game! Always check the barrel

maikeru

Most dance movies are cringe so I‘m more on George‘s side not being overly a fan of those movies

2026-09-05 05:00 None of these, really. Strictly has just finished, I'm danced out and I can't be arsed with any dancing at the moment. :D
2025-02-05 00:04

Happy Hanukkah

The Most Dangerous Poll: poll of movies based on The Most Dangerous Game. Your nominee: Surviving the Game (1994) Mine: Hard Target (1993, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lance Henriksen, John Woo directing) Not my nominee: Dogboys (1998) Many others are available. By the way, you somehow fired the neurons reminding me of Crazy Six from 1997, with Rob Lowe, Burt Reynolds, Ice-T, Mario Van Peebles, and most importantly, Ivana Milicevic.

Polecat21

Do the Right Thing

Polecat21

Mississippi Burning

Stuart Sutcliffe

No jokes, Dirty Dancing is actually a really good movie.

Emily G

CHICAGO!! Also I really recommend The Producers (2005 version) it’s absolutely hilarious and I really think you guys would enjoy it! ❤️

BoredLittleLady

I know musicals are rare on the channel for copyright reasons but I’d like to recommend the following for future consideration: Wicked (2024) Hamilton (2020) The Greatest Showman (2017) The Color Purple (2023) A Star is Born (2018) I’ve actually never seen A Star is Born but I heard it’s good and it’d be cool to watch with you guys for the first time.

jose giron

Showgirls should be on this list 😅

Rachel W

"Cabaret"(1972) has some of the best musical numbers with Bob Fosse as choreographer. And the most terrifying child singer ever. Bone chilling.

Rachel W

Omg, YES! I'd forgotten it! So so good and semi autobiographical.

Rachel W

I much prefer the original 1961 film. What Spielberg did to one of the show's best songs, "Cool" is unforgivable. And they changed the lyrics to "America" -also unforgivable.

jmundt33a

Sarcasm can be hard to scan in this medium.

jmundt33a

Agree with the first, second, and last.

Tom M

lol I just reread this and realized I forgot to name it but you got it! Apparently my tv brand has an app with movies with ads.

Tom M

@Happy Hanukkah wow I don’t remember that at all. Burt Reynolds, Ice-T, Rob Lowe—what a combo!

The Long Journey

Across the Universe is a Great and very underrated musical

Aaron Navarrete

I would like to recommend "Edward Scissorhands" it's a classic Tim Burton!

Happy Hanukkah

[An example of sarcasm bordering on exasperated ridicule:] You don't understand; Showgirls is a *satire*!!1! :-/

Happy Hanukkah

In that case, surely we should watch "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" (1969)! :-P

Happy Hanukkah

I watched A Star Is Born based on very positive reviews and ended up not enjoying it at all. If I had been watching it at home, I would have turned it off early on. My attempt at a fair-minded recommendation is to only watch it if you generally enjoy movies in this genre and with that tone; it is definitely not good enough to successfully crossover. IMHO. (Since I have now exhausted my fairness, I shall categorize it as a weepy melodrama. :-) ) And to make sure jm loses all respect for me :-), I'll add that I enjoyed The Greatest Showman. Note that I approached it as a fantasy with little connection to the real Barnum or to reality in general.

BoredLittleLady

I’ll keep that in mind next time I make recommendations. Thanks.

Happy Hanukkah

Between me and jm, we supported 80% of your recommendations, so you're doing great! :-)

Kelly Pickard

Pitching the King's Speech for future drama consideration

Cc Decc

Oh man! Why didn't I think of it in time? SMH. Well, next musical poll: Cats (2019). 😁

Paul SW

Malcolm X !

Happy Hanukkah

Say what you will about him, but the man could dance!
