“In 1977, I was doing…. other things”. Sounds like a dad who doesn’t want you to talk to his childhood friends… I really enjoy those reactions with your dad. It reminds me when I was going to the cinema with my dad weekly as a kid.

Hamesque

Aww man, no Stormtrooper head bonk reaction.

Zack Gallardo

These reactions are great. Your relationship, his comments, the culture references, all great. Keep em coming.

I'm curious, so is the Falcon written as 千年鹰 in Mandarin? {I may have inputted it backwards bc of a western keyboard)

I was really curious if your dad would relate these to Chinese mythology like he did with Terminator. I know Star Wars is borrowing more specifically from the Japanese literary tradition, filtered through Kurosawa films, but I wouldn't have expected the Terminator movies to map all that recognizably to Chinese mythology either. George, it seemed like this time you were the one bringing up the comparisons to Chinese mythology more than your dad. I wonder if this specific translation is just... worse, or at least harder to follow with Star Wars being a fantastical setting with a lot of made-up words even in the original English compared to Terminator just having to translate mostly modern day English to Chinese (you said you guys speak Cantonese but I don't know whether the subtitles are Cantonese or Mandarin). But I'm glad he liked it!

Well he spoke of making bombs the other time so who knows? George's Dad is a badass...

Monica Alarcon

This was great but I wish you could have seen it as it was originally released without all the CGI add-ons....

I love watching movies with you and your dad. My favorite moment from this reaction was when he asked you if you'd go to space if you could. Having watched your Apollo 13 reaction, I knew the answer to that one. Your answer didn't seem to surprise your dad at all.

12:23... Quick, everyone, save this original version of the scene before it gets replaced by the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-mv0JkbgqU [Significant SPOILERS for the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries (as well as Revenge of the Sith, of course.)]

Happy Hanukkah

30:11 There is no lack of discussion of all kinds about Star Wars, but I don't recall ever coming across anything about how Machiavellian-ly this can be interpreted.
