Fritz

Oh god. Grave of the fireflies. I told myself to never watch it again. Might have to think about that again.

Nikolai

Finally more Bond! ❤️❤️

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Oh wow a Ghibli film on the schedule and one of the best, most emotional war films ever at that. I’ll turn out my pocketses to the Copyright Gods in support - hope they like these 3 bucks haha. Also yay more SW with George’s dad ☺️

TheGemHead

Oh. Oh my. Tears will be shed on Sunday.

Alexrandom

Quantum of solace. Oh god no 😭 You have to watch it to get to Skyfall I guess but it's pretty bad. Especially the cinematography. They tried to emulate Bourne and put fast cuts and shaky cam everywhere. Guess we'll see 🙈 Pretty happy about the rest.

Maiki

Saul. Bond. Star Wars. Yep, sounds decent :)

MR

Can't wait for Grave of the Fireflies. So much fun!

Marko T.

Quantum of Solace is ok but Skyfall is a lot better. Skyfall might one of the most popular and liked modern Bond movies.

PureGonzo

Agreed. I think objectively speaking, Skyfall is probably the best of the Daniel Craig Bond films. However, maybe it’s the nostalgia for me, but Casino Royale will always be my personal favorite.

Arcade Sufi

Quantum of solace, yikes!

Coleyra

I wish for you to have bought a lot of tissues for those 2 last films.

PureGonzo

I see all the comments about Quantum of Solace here, and while I agree that it’s the weakest of the Daniel Craig Bond films, I still don’t think it’s a bad movie. It’s just that the other ones are so much better.

Michael Nemo

The last solid Bond film imo even though it mostly feels like a long epilogue to Casino Royale. Skyfall is basically a remake of Dark Knight and then Spectre And No Time To Die are the franchise on life-support.

Josip Buretić

Oh no nothing for me nex week, wish you all great week

Michael Nemo

Empire is the absolute peak of Star Wars. The franchise hit it's zenith 45 years ago with this film imo.

Bookwormy

Quantum of Solace adn Grave of t Fireflies, oh boy

Awesome80s

Dance with wolves and grave of the fireflies ? Get a good supply of tissues

Emptysea93

My goodness. I am not sure if Simone will physically survive losing so many tears this weak.

Richard Burrell

Grave of the fireflies will kill Simone. Probably one of the hardest hitters out there. Still awaiting the Manchester by the Sea reaction, as I think that will be peak haha

Marc Viloria

Though I've wanted to, I have never been able to rewatch Grave of the Fireflies. I'll do it with you guys

Wuju

I was feeling down and choose a new Ghibli film to pick me up and chose Grave of the Fireflies... (IYKYK) (sad face)

Ste Rawlings

The most underrated Bond film!

Lyle Morgan

Quantum of Solace took place during the writer’s strike and it’s very apparent.

davidov

QoS, yippie! Definitely one of the weaker Bonds (writers strike, no finished script, continued filming anyway, even Craig worked on the script while filming, it shows), but needed to continue on to get to more good stuff. And unlike "normal" Bond films, the Craig movies all have some minor connections so I'm glad you didn't skip it. It's still an ok movie, especially if you remember the circumstances it was made under. Bad choice of director though; only Bond movie with a very annoying shaky cam.

Hamesque

Yeah, I'd recommend watching Casino Royal again beforehand if it's been awhile because QoS starts moments after.

Scott CineRam

It's been quite a while since you two watched "Casino Royale" so I am curious if you plan to go through all of the Daniel Craig "Bond" movies...or did you enjoy "Stranger Than Fiction" so much that you wanted to see more by the "Stranger" director?

Mr. Treat

Grave of the fireflies.... oh boy 😭

mky

Holy crap! "Grave of the Fireflies"? An incredible film, but oh jeez I need to emotionally prepare myself any time I decide to watch it. And keep hydrated.

JoshG

You guys should check out “A time to kill”

Cory Garron

Guess I'll finally be watching "Dances with Wolves", after about a 35+ year long wait. lol

Jeff I.

Grave of the Fireflies is only new to Simone, right? I remember George mentioning he saw a lot of the Ghibli movies growing up. Looking forward to it either way, just curious. Also glad to see Dances with Wolves! Feels like a litle while since we had a more slow-paced drama.

Alex Wong

Rocky V and Balboa please!

Kevin

When might we expect season 2 of House of the Dragon

Beddoe

On a different subject... With 'Captain America: Brave New World' being released now and 'Thunderbolts' being released soon you should do a reaction to 'The Falcon And The Winter Soldier' and 'Hawkeye'. If you've already watched them on your own you can disregard this.

Ginger

You are doing Grave of the Fireflies to yourselves? Good luck :D I have the DVD on my shelf, still wrapped as I don't dare to watch it. If you need something lighter to pick you up afterwards, I recommend: - Watership Down - Secret of Nimh - When the wind blows* - The last unicorn - Animal Farm - Felidae* - Plague Dogs* - the first 10 minutes of "Up" on a loop *(seriously though, don't watch this one!)

Hans Czajkowski Jørgensen

Oh no. Simone seeing Grave of the Fireflies? I'm not sure I even want to watch that reaction. Here's a preemptive post-movie virtual hug for her. Still a very good movie. Just not sure I can watch it twice.

Jasper Collins

I don't know if it's right to say I'm excited for Grave of the Fireflies but I'm glad I watched it and I'm forever changed by it.

Hans Czajkowski Jørgensen

George: Didn't you say that Studio Ghibli are absolutely vicious regarding copyright strikes? Is Grave of the Fireflies only for patrons, or is it going public on YT as well? Wouldn't want you guys to get copyright striked (struck(?))

James Lawson

Really hope for more Ghibli reactions :D Though also excited for more Pixar ones as well.

Ari Ramirez

Oh boy, heavy week ahead eh

Tom Hess

Cinebinge getting into Ghibli? Yes please. Pretty please.

UnlicensedOkie

MORE GHIBLI DO ALL GHIBLI DEVOTE A DAY EVERY WEEK TO GHIBLI UNTIL YOU GET THROUGH THEM ALL PLZ

Saifu

Are you guys going to do the rest of the Daniel Craig 007 movies too?

ShōNuff3K

THAT FREAKING DOES IT! GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES EVERYONE SAYS TOUCHING MOVING ETC ETC. I'M GOING TO WATCH IT NOW AND IF I DON'T CRY, I'M PROBABLY DEAD.

Tom Hess

Yeah VKunia lost her original channel over it. They'll have to be extra careful.

Bonny T

Just thinking of Grave of the Fireflies is enough to tear me up 😭💔

Seymor Butz

Hear me out on this suggestion, because it would probably have to be a patreon exclusive, but you guys should totally watch MOVIE 43. It is hilarious if you have the right sense of humor (sleezy and crude meets a bit dark and witty), think it is right up you ally. See portion of cast below if your not sold yet.

Seymor Butz

I guess you can't paste screen shots here, oh well. The cast is stacked.

XeonAlpha

Grave of the Fireflies… oh no. Simone may not survive this one. The only thing I’ll say is that the late great Roger Ebert said he finally understood another critic who compared it to Schindler’s List. “Grave of the Fireflies” is an emotional experience so powerful that it forces a rethinking of animation. [Speaking of other animated films of the time]… these films exist within safe confines; they inspire tears, but not grief. “Grave of the Fireflies” is a powerful dramatic film that happens to be animated…“It is the most profoundly human animated film I’ve ever seen.”

Jacob King

They generally do do that already though the runners up aren’t guaranteed to be the next week.

Jacob King

Future movie suggestion: A.I. (2001).

warcrimes

The last Bond flick was hot trash m8

MasterElodin

Yes from what I remember they space them out very far so that they don't claim 3 at once and get the channel deleted.

Amar

Two weeks in a row that no movie or show interests me. It happens i guess but it's a shame. Grave of fireflies is so random, what is that? lol

Amelie W

It has been called "the only war movie that doesn't make war look cool" and (by several reviewers) "the greatest movie I never want to watch again."

Helly R

In my opinion the bigger problem is the way it's directed. I love Greengrass but his shakey cam style is very hard to do and they utterly fail here. George is going to hate it.

Ginger

my least favorite Craig Bond

Amar

Someone compared it to Schindler's List and i had to shut down my computer!! No the Nazi's were real guys, this is a cartoon.

Itbewhatitbe

mate, the movie is about the fire bombings over japan and the suffering of the civilians, the material is based on an actual novel written by a guy who lived through it, its literally his personal story. and the director also grew up during those fire bombings. just because its in drawing form it doesnt make it any less real. what, youre gonna tell me next that Animal Farm is just a nice little story about some pigs?

Seahag

Ugh, I’m torn on Grave of the Fireflies. It is a well done movie, but there’s literally no rewatchability to it, like I don’t know if I’m even gonna watch much of the reaction, it’s that much of a downer. Also the aunt takes the award for one of the most loathsome characters in cinema for me.

Spacedone

Grave of the Fireflies? Suddenly hope is kindled for a Watership Down reaction...

FromDarknessComesLight

So excited for Grave of the Fireflies! Hopefully I can watch it before the reaction comes out.

Amar

I just needed some more details on what it was about, i should have looked it up myself. Schindler's list is a very brutally real movie, i think some people like myself try but just can't get into anime. I don't know i can't relate to it but i wish i could, a lot of my friends loved it in college.

Darin Foat

I wonder if they picked Quantum of Solace because it's directed by Marc Forster. They really enjoyed Stranger Than Fiction, and George mentioned wanting to check out more of his stuff.

Amelie W

Have you thought about "getting into" sandwiches? Some people eat them every day out of habit while some people can't stand them because of some weird associations they have, but from an outside perspective, it's just a type of food; it's not fundamentally any different from soup or steak. And cartoons are a type of entertainment, akin to dances or TV shows or dril tweets. You're certainly not required to enjoy any of it, but I think you'd agree it's foolish to dismiss a meal just because it's a sandwich.

Ashkaun

Quantum of Solace is a bit of a let down, but if it gets you to the rest of the Craig Bond films then that’s cool
