The last weekly polls winner will be available this Saturday.Reminder: movies that don't win does not mean they will never be watched, it just means they will be watched later. Please be respectful to each others opinions, we're all just here to have fun and watch movies :)

Awesome80s

Casper is more a bit of a drama I'd say. But it still a pretty cute and cool movie.

Henry Sanchez

It doesn’t say scary it says spooky. Ghosts are spooky. It’s fair play

Smooticus

I suppose Scooby-Doo was kinda scary, just not on purpose

Tony Wirt

Oh we got some heavy hitters here. Personally I’m pullin for Candyman to win. If only as a tribute watch to Tony Todd since he unfortunately left us last year

Maiki

I'd like to kindly point out that the last Sports poll was almost a year ago, March 25th, 2024. Would be great to get another one in the not so distant future. Thanks :)

Mike FromOz

Same. It's a fantastic movie, and definitely one to get Simone to do her patented "Scaredy-face" 🤣

Tony Wirt

Plus, it’s definitely one of them movies to get George’s inquisitive brain pumping

Temba His Arms Wide

So many good choices! I want to vote for Candyman because I love Tony Todd RIP, But I think I have to go for Scooby-Doo because it's childhood favorite. Casper is a classic too.

cincassette

I remember being genuinely so scared watching Casper when I was about three or four, to the point of asking my parents to turn it off. I finally watched the full movie a few years ago 😂

Jean-Dominic Lapointe

It feels like there are two very different types of “spooky” in the poll. 😂🤣 I also hope you’ll react to Devil’s advocate one day

Emptysea93

Candyman for sure. Clive Barker is one of the greatest horror creators of all time, and Tony Todd. Oh man, I wish you would watch the Substance too sometime. It’s also new this year and it’s insane but so good!

Ootlander

I'm constantly amazed at the randomness of these polls. So bizarre.

Tony Wirt

I would definitely want to see their reaction to Tony Todd’s voice, and then find out that was his natural voice.

JoeE

Would also recommend sinister and one cut of the dead

Itbewhatitbe

cant tell if youre saying thats good or bad

Itbewhatitbe

no one said scary 🤷‍♂️ spooky is very different and makes sense, like halloween vibe.

Dirge Girl

The Fog (1980) [Horror/Mystery] G-g-g-ghost Pirates!

rictus grin

candyman is one of the best horror movies of its time. scooby doo was fun but a horror ?

rictus grin

the original The Wicker man (1973) should pop up on one of these poll's

Itbewhatitbe

literally doenst say horror. it says spooky, not the same thing. halloween is spooky.

jmundt33a

Maybe Devil’s Advocate and Fallen will make it onto this type of poll this year.

FranciscoGios

We all can agree of Candyman's reaction is coming soon.

Mr. Writhms

Finally! Someone with love for Carpenter's THE FOG.

Mo's Not Mortal

If Scooby Doo wasn’t in this, I would’ve picked Caroline. I watched Candyman for the first time about three years ago due to my parents hyping it up when I was younger, but honestly I barely stayed awake through it.

Daniel Smith

Has Frightners been done? Good comedic first half before it takes a different turn.

UnlicensedOkie

Scooby doo is a classic. Y’all should watch Casper too though. And Candy Man

Dakota

You guys should react to Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes movies! They're great and it would be fun to watch more Guy Ritchie movies with you.

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

We need LONGLEGS on the "Spookeh" poll, with 4 animated comedies in it... ***Raspberries from the gallery!!!*** . Before anyone draws their keyboard in anger, I'm kidding of course, but for real, please get LONGLEGS in a poll. It's a perfect use of Nick Cage's individual brand of ...Nick Cage.

Itbewhatitbe

lmao why are so many people so confused by the poll? it literally doesnt say horror, it says spooky with extra o's. feels like a poll by Simone tbh. "these are the level of spooky i can handle"

Robinson vs. Parkinson's

Agreed. With baseball season coming up, I don't think they've seen BULL DURHAM or MAJOR LEAGUE, both are great!

Godrick

Casper losing this poll is wild

Christopher Carson

Voted M3gan, mainly because this list isn't that great. And want to see the reaction to the dance more than anything else in any other movie

Victor Fiegel

Who's voting for Scooby-Doo and Casper? They shouldn't even be on this poll. Not only are they not spooky, but they're legitimately terrible.

Itbewhatitbe

translation: "why is everyone voting for their childhood movie?! they dont even fit in my immediate misunderstanding of the polls intention! clearly the majority is wrong in the matters of opinion! STOP HAVING FUN!!!"

Itbewhatitbe

i voted for Candyman actually, but im switching it to scooby-doo just cause it annoys you that people have different preferences

Victor Fiegel

Ok guy, I thought I was being playful. Didn't realize I'd stepped out of line.

FWPJR.

I’d like to suggest Jeepers Creepers, and Jeepers Creepers 2. They are both great “spooky” movies ( imo )

Itbewhatitbe

in what way is your initial comment playful? it literally is just you proclaiming everyone and the poll is wrong, and that their preferences are, and i quote, "legitimately terrible." not to mention again, fundamentally not understanding the pretty obvious intention of the poll.

John

Frighteners is good

John

Those are great movies

Victor Fiegel

I saw how tweaked you got from my initial comment that I walked back the intensity of the 2nd

John

Hello, I will recommend once a month or once every 3 months a criterion poll with all selections from the AFI’s top 100, you could use IMDb to identify the genre. Thanks for the content.

Morningstar

Please watch The Curious Case of Benjamin button.🩵

Scoobay

Candyman is far from a B movie.

Scoobay

Whether it wins or not, I’m happy to see Candyman on here. Perhaps my favourite movie score of all time. I’m no horror fan but I’ve seen it a fair few times, I love the urban gothic theme. Casper is pretty awesome too.

Scoobay

“Please be respectful to each others opinions, we're all just here to have fun and watch movies :)”

Logan Kerlee

Being honest I'm not psyched to watch any of these. Just not my genre of choice. Buuuuuuuut if I have to choose one it'll be Corpse Bride because I think that was well received and it's Tim Burton so it's fun. :)

Scoobay

I have the same experience with Edward Scissorhands, except I haven’t actually brought myself to watch it yet 😂 I don’t even think it’s supposed to be scary but it gave me the heebie jeebies.

Logan Kerlee

I'm all for a sports film poll! Or hell, two of them.

B W

Scooby Doo???? What the...?

Itbewhatitbe

yeah its crazy, its almost like it was a special childhood thing for millions of people.

Victor Fiegel

I was. Notice that the prick(Itbewhatitbe), has been all over the comments trying to pick fights.

Tsuyama

is it really that confusing that people like scooby doo? lmao shits been around for decades.

Tsuyama

tbf your initial comment did sound like a jerk. but now youve also stooped to his level with name calling soooo, youre both just kinda in the mud being childish.

Opti_Frog

Candyman is the truly iconic film in this list. I have no idea what's going on with Scooby-Doo. Must be a generational thing.

Tsuyama

okay no lol its absurd to blame generational thing on scoobydoo, that shit was invented in the 60s and is still going, its literally multigenerational.

Itbewhatitbe

how bout just dont shit on what other people enjoy in general? you dont have to like it, no ones forcing you. but also dont shit on other people for liking something and telling them their preferences are legitimately terrible.

Sumner Hayes

People saw Scooby Doo when they were kids and have fond memories. Plus, Velma in general has become a pop culture icon, and SMG has a loyal following thanks to Buffy. But you're right: it's pretty rough, though Linda Cardellini is always awesome and Matthew Lillard is well-cast.

Russell James Tiger

The next poll where spooky is ambiguous, I highly recommend "High Spirits". Nobody ever reacts to that funny ghost movie with an absolutely stellar cast!

Dechevalier

I think the sentiment might be more that Scooby doesn't really belong on a "Spooky" list alongside offerings like Candyman, Smile, and M3gan.

B W

Everyone else but ME in this poll IS wrong! Muahahahahaha. Now add Goosebumps to the list!

Itbewhatitbe

why not? its spooky with extra oo's, clearly not meant to be serious. no one goes around halloween party and says "why is spiderman and slenderman in the same room they clearly dont belong in the same spooky season"

Opti_Frog

It's strange to me that The Frighteners is requested more than any of the other early Peter Jackson movies. I guess it's because it was Hollywood produced, and distributed by an American studio? Jackson made three of the greatest gore-comedies of all time, (before making Heavenly Creatures and The Frighteners) and hardly anyone has reacted to them.

Opti_Frog

My three dream reactions are The Wicker man (1973), Ravenous (1999) and Braindead/Dead Alive (1992) Unless it's A24, i'm not particularly interested in modern horror.

Opti_Frog

Carpenter's The Fog is one of cinema's finest ghost stories.

Victor Fiegel

I speak the truth, they shouldn't have been on this poll. Keep trolling the rest of the comment section

B W

@dechevalier, @lordoflondon, you both make good points. I suppose Scooby Doo and Casper could be considered "spooky" in a fun time, Trick-or-Treating on Halloween sort of way. I suppose it comes down to how Simone and George actually react. What does one prefer? Seeing them jump out of their skin watching some horror movie or watching them laugh at characters like Shaggy and Scooby? I prefer the scary reactions tbh. Simone saying she "can't" with a movie is priceless.

Scoobay

Tbf, he’s just defending the poll. But that request was meant for everyone.

Opti_Frog

Back when the first season of The Walking Dead started airing, i realised i was completely sick of the zombie genre. One Cut of the Dead is the first zombie movie i've really loved since Shaun of the Dead. But you have to go into it blind.

Opti_Frog

No, come on. We're talking about a kids movie that came out in 2002, not the original cartoon. And i'm not "blaming" anyone. People can vote on whatever they like. But when a movie that sits on a 32% RT score and a 40% audience score is leading a poll, i must think there is a sizeable portion of patrons to whom this particular movie is a dear childhood memory, regardless of the film's quality. Or it's a meme.

Rob Church

Gotta go with Candyman. It's an underappreciated classic of the genre.

Jeb Manning

There's definitely some horror movies I'd love to see on future polls for this year: -The Phantom of the Opera (1925) -Dracula (1931) -Frankenstein (1931) -The Mummy (1932) -Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) -The Wolf Man (1941) -Night of the Living Dead (1968) -Creepshow (1982) -The Return of the Living Dead (1985) -Re-Animator (1985) -Hellraiser (1987) -Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)

Dan Holmes

Bro if Scooby fucking Doo beats out Candyman i'm gonna lose it lol

Dan Holmes

Yeah if they were watching the 60s tv show for the first time i would totally vote for that but the 2002 movie, tho im sure it would be fun to watch them watch it, is a joke and nothing compared to candyman or even Casper lol 😅

rictus grin

it's not really even spooky, a comedy sure and a fun watch

Cubonemaker

Casper is so underrated though

Daniel Smith

I listen to a particular movie podcast and Braindead is quite often referenced when discussing splatter films as it used to hold the record for the most fake blood used in a movie. Certainly some of the earlier work isn’t well known. I only mentioned Frighteners as it has a cast people would recognise but people are generally not aware of as much. The early work would make an interesting series of reactions, though not sure of the impact on their ratings on YouTube. It would certainly make a great reaction video.

Country Mac

It's an over-budget campy mess that was originally intended to be much more adult than what was eventually released. It does have some charm to it.

Joseph M Sica

Dude seriously, do we have all kids voting on this?

G P

None of the above please

TokyoLopez

scooby doo is the scariest movie here i’m glad its winning

p0sthum4n

I voted Casper just because of Bill Pullman.

iFixSAN

For your consideration: Kentucky Fried Movie for the next comedy poll.

Dani

have a little fun!!!

Itbewhatitbe

well, considered they did a poll not long ago on the average age of their patrons, and it showed 40-50 was the majority. seems like youre just wrong

Wormtongue

What a random collection of movies lol

Random Nevermind

Please add to the next spooky poll Silent Hill The Others

Cinebinge

Hi Solzb44, while we understand that the choices in any particular poll may not be to your preference, we ask all patrons to please keep things civil and refrain from pointlessly insulting others for having different taste and preference. Remember, there is a new poll every week and at the end of the day, its just movies. Continuation of insults against other patrons will result in a permanent ban. Thank you.

Tsuyama

how in the world is the concept of childhood nostalgia that hard to grasp?

Huckleberry lobo

speaking of spooky but not scary, "The Frighteners" directed by Peter Jackson for your consideration.

Chey Siearra

Casper is surprisingly heavy and slightly dark, but such a beautiful film. Can’t wait for the reaction ❤️

Mike FromOz

Agreed, I absolutely love both of them. Sad that there weren't more between the first and second to pad out the series, but maybe RDJ wasn't interested in going on?

Mike FromOz

More fake blood than Bram Stoker's Dracula? Wow, that is a lot.

Vengeance

Same guy tries to rile people up on every comment section. Surprised he’s still around to be honest.

Daniel Smith

Supposedly nearly 80 gallons in just the final scene. Can’t seem to easily find a total for the whole film.

Pendergasted

lol. This comment is the only reason I voted for scooby.

Chase Schleich

Weird poll. Scooby Doo and Smile are 2 very different movies lol.

Chase Schleich

Especially those bad 2000's Scooby Doo movies lol. A lot of people here were probably kids when those movies came out and are blinded by their nostalgia.

Brandon Meng

Not a huge fan of the horror genre, so Scooby Doo wins for me. Please consider for future polls: Manchester by the Sea Perks of Being a Wallflower Forgetting Sarah Marshall Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Sideways The Royal Tenenbaums Cheers!

Jeff I.

Yeah, I think this the first poll where I wouldn't be interested in a reaction to anything on it.

Jeff I.

I bet George would be dying laughing at the parody of Bruce Lee movies.

Faidra Galaxy

Corpses Bride is a good one, it was Tim Burton's first time directing an animated feature film and the film itself is funny.

Hypatia

This movie is so underrated

Itbewhatitbe

walter it literally isnt a scary poll, its spooky with extra o's thats clearly a joke. take it easy man, its not a dick you dont need to take it this hard.

Huckleberry lobo

Right? I don't know too many people that remember it. The effects still hold up.

Tsuyama

all ive ever seen is him challenging people who just shits over other peoples preferences by proclaiming others are wrong for liking something.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

“Return to Oz” could be a great contender for this kind of poll. I tried watching the 2000s live action “Scooby Doo” movies once out of nostalgia, you’re better off watching some of the better animated movies or shows. Some hold up pretty well, especially when you can tell which are made out of actual appreciation for the franchise.

Jasbro

Well there is always Halloween i guess, cant believe Smile is losing so badly and Scooby Doo is winning, i like Scooby Doo but when its up against actual spooky movies its a damn shame. I also do hope you watch M3GAN at some point since they just announced the sequel, its a cool modern Chucky type movie.

Tsuyama

it really is wild to me how many self proclaimed adults in the comments are just so confused by the simple jokey concept of this poll. just a lot of WHAAAT IT SAYS SPOOKY IT CAN ONLY MEAN ONE THING ITS HORROR OR NOTHING WHY IS HALF THE LIST SCARY AND HALF NOT HURR DURRRRRR

Trevor S Bright

How the heck is Scooby-Doo beating Candyman? RIP Tony Todd

theycallmekev

Scooby doo is terrible why is that winning?

jmundt33a

Sideways and Sarah Marshall are great.

jmundt33a

It is a nice film.

jmundt33a

The Others is disturbing

Huckleberry lobo

Absolutely, George the people have spoken lol

maikeru

Please consider putting Speak No Evil (2024) on your watch list. ps: I‘m so excited to watch Severance with you tomorrow, it‘s great, the story, the acting, the score ps2: a good spooky (scary!) one is The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)

Opti_Frog

Oh, absolutely more fake blood than Dracula. I actually think it still holds the record for most fake blood used in a movie. And it's the least sadistic and most cheerful massacre you'll ever see! 😄 "There's a laugh with every drop of blood" Jackson told his mother when he made Bad Taste, and it's true for Braindead as well. Now, Bad Taste, Jackson's first feature, really is a home made, extremely low-budget, horror-comedy movie. But it's a home made movie that premiered at Cannes film festival and got worldwide distribution. It was shot over four years (90% on weekends - everyone involved had regular jobs) and found its story in the edit. It's absolutely insane. But so was the talent on display.

maikeru

I hate that I know the twist 😩

maikeru

a sweet movie

Itbewhatitbe

because people like different things than you?

maikeru

fun + spooky = fooky

JarHead0351

Fallen is a great movie - type I like

maikeru

Edward Scissorhands is more sad of a movie than scary with comedy elements.

John

I'm a big fan of the Royal Tenenbaums, it's a great Gene Hackman movie

John

Night of the Living Dead, Return of the Living Dead, and Killer Klowns from Outer Space are all movies I would recommend

robodong

i mean.. terrible to you. clearly special to a lot of other people.

robodong

a lot of people have nostalgia with that movie, a movie doesnt need to be some artistic mastercraft or oscar winning to be special to people.

robodong

i think its meant to be a bit silly. thats why its spoooooooky. lol.

robodong

lucky theres a poll every week 🤷‍♂️

Jeb Manning

They're all so good. In particular, I'd love to see Return of the Living Dead because this year is its 40th anniversary and Night of the Living Dead because it's tied into Return's backstory.

robodong

i never understand comments like this. everyone was a kid at some point, and for most people we hold nostalgia and love for things from our childhood. but more important, why do you assume that for kids = bad? a movie doesnt need to be some artistic master craft or oscar winning to be special to people.

John

I don't know enough about Peter Jackson's earlier movies. I like Frighteners partly because it is one of Michael J Fox's better movies, and I'm a fan of his.

robodong

a movie doesnt need to be some artistic mastercraft or oscar winning to be special to people. scooby doo holds a special place in a lot of people, because literally everyone was a child at one point. while not everyone enjoys being scared.

robodong

a movie doesnt need to be some artistic mastercraft or oscar winning to be special to people. everyone was a child at some point, not everyone enjoys scary films.

robodong

a movie doesnt need to be some artistic mastercraft or oscar winning to be special to people. everyone was a child at some point and have nostalgia towards childish things, but not everyone enjoys scary things.

robodong

a movie doesnt need to be some artistic mastercraft or oscar winning to be special to people. everyone was a child at some point and have nostalgia towards childish things, but not everyone enjoys scary things.

robodong

ya but a movie doesnt need to be some artistic mastercraft or oscar winning to be special to people. everyone was a child at some point and have nostalgia towards childish things, but not everyone enjoys scary things.

robodong

rictus, you do understand the concept of halloween yes? like children go out dress as spiderman or princesses, neither of which are scary? but children can also dress as zombies and monsters, and its called Spooky season in a jokey fun way?

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy Says Happy Halloween Grrr Argh

Got a huge soft spot for Scooby Doo because it’s so much fun and has got way more jokes for the big kids than the little ones. Whatever wins we get some good movies you’ll have a fun time with

robodong

i think a lot of people on here need to remember that highest rating does not mean best for reaction, and fun sometimes outweighs quality. movies are categorized as entertainment for a reason. The PIanist is definitely a better movie in every way than Scary Movie, but fuck if im ever gonna watch The Pianist to have fun.

Opti_Frog

Pizza, isn't that more or less exactly what i said? 🙂

Collinson

Would recommend "Talk to Me" a Australian horror film from 2022. Very well made and disturbing.

Seahag

I’m totally fine if Scooby wins, but I’m going to beg for Candyman still lol

Opti_Frog

I think you are talking specifically about me, but you misunderstood my point. I was using the RT and audience score as evidence to support my theory that Scooby-Doo is popular in a certain age demographic, nothing else. I wasn't trying to say the movie is bad, i haven't even seen it. And you should remember that someone not sharing your opinion about a movie is not an attack on you. If someone says you are WRONG for enjoying a movie, that's different. I absolutely agree that fun sometimes outweighs quality (I've been talking about Peter Jackson's Bad Taste in this very comment section). But comedy hits differently for different people. For me, The Pianist and Scary Movie provide equal amounts of laughter. Zero. 😋

Opti_Frog

Liked for Severance and Autopsy of Jane Doe!

robodong

nope, not you specifically. just in general, plenty of comments down below that are just full on declaring others are "wrong" for voting differently. and lets be honest, that aint new to just this poll either, acting like theyre the arbiter of taste. to say "why is everyone voting for X, its terrible, what are you children?" that is just attacking people for liking something else. they dont have to watch it, or like it, but let other people like it for their ownselves. its a movie poll, not an election.

Blqbrd

Holy please do Smile someday. Simone might literally shit

Mr. Writhms

We're in it for the ground-breaking CGI. 😁

Silver Linings Starman

Hush is my favorite home invasion movie. They like Mike Flanagan's stuff, too.

Jacob King

It’s a generational touchstone. I’m too old but I understand it’s a beloved property for younger millennials. James Gunn is in charge of the DCEU now because an entire generation was basically groomed on his sensibilities.

Silver Linings Starman

I really believed the live-action Scooby-Doo was hated by critics and fans alike. I'm guessing I was wrong. I didn't see it, because I was 11 when it came out and a little too old for it lol.

Jacob King

Some fun options, I went with M3GAN and the Corpse Bride Crimson Peak would have been another choice and/or Swiss Army Man.

maikeru

If they ever continue watching A24 films one of the first would be Midsommar, that won a poll last year. The problem is that A24 is hostile towards movie reactors and that‘s a reason why G&S stopped watching A24 films for the time being.

TheGrimOne

Of course a comedy is going to win a spooky poll.

Matthew Langley

Hope some day you can get a show called "The Magicians" onto your TV poll queue. It's basically Harry Potter + In College + Narnia + Dark Humor Parody.

Opti_Frog

Silent Hill is underrated and a cool little horror, but i'm saying that as someone who hasn't played any of the games.

Opti_Frog

Since it's the middle of the night and i have nothing better to do, i took the time to read through every comment and every reply to this poll. And there are two, possibly three comments of the type you suggest. Three out of 196 at the time i'm writing this. I lost count of how many times i saw your "artistic mastercraft" comment, though. It seems to me you are conflating the commenters who just express their dislike for the Scooby-Doo movie (which is not an attack on any person), or who are, like me, somewhat nonplussed by the poll itself, with the very few comments talking about children and frontal lobes, and you treat them the same. "People who like [movie] are stupid." <- Not ok. "I don't like [movie]." <- Perfectly fine.

Dustin Duvall

This might be the first poll I'm actually mad about 😆. We don't get the chance for spooky too often and scooby doo is going to win? No complaints about the movie, just the timing of it winning 😞.

Dustin Duvall

Such a fun show. I especially like how they decided to perform the magic on the show

Opti_Frog

It seems quite a few people (me included) had no idea that Scooby-Doo 02 had any kind of following.

Opti_Frog

It's a shame A24 has to be so unsympathetic to reactors, since they release and distribute the most interesting modern horrors. The Witch is probably my favourite horror movie of the last 20 years or so.

Matthew Blackwood

Hard same. Of course all the people who don’t like scary movies get the escape valve here.

zak

Such an incredible film, I feel like it's under appreciated in Del Toro's filmography, it's also a great example of remakes not just being a cash grab.

Kelly Pickard

I feel like I'm one of the handful of people in America that has never liked Scooby Doo (any version of it, including the original cartoon). XD I just never got the appeal.

dys

To be fair, Corpse Bride and Casper aren't exactly scary either.

shaneth138

It happens every time. Same thing with every other reactor too. Most people just hate anything even remotely scary.

sarCC

The movie is bad, literally a spoof of the cartoon, which was originally great.

sarCC

I really hope Candyman pulls ahead. It and M3gan are easily the best movies in this poll

Max Carter

The Scooby Doo movie is terrible wtf is going on?

robodong

well, terrible to you. realize that other people have different opinions/preferences then you and thats okay. but more so, just because another film is better in quality, doesnt mean it makes for a better reaction. quite often dumb fun to laugh along with is more entertaining then serious silence. thirdly, nostalgia is a big factor for a lot of people. Schindlers List may be a great movie but i sure as hell dont want to watch it again for the fun of it.

Steven Cavanagh

There's an Old Denzel Washington Film Called Fallen that kind of fits this category, you might enjoy it. it's an obscure one but I do recommend it.

Popsmcgraw

I'm just voting for Tony Todd

Rob Church

"and even then I'd say Candyman is more of a thriller." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Rob Church

I'm sorry but cinebinge really need to put more effort into choosing films that go on a poll. They should all be within the same genre at least somewhat. It feels like the choices have gotten lazier and they just throw anything on there these days.

Rob Church

We get it dude, you don't want to watch holocaust films. You have written it up and down this thread.

robodong

holy fuck dude, its literally just a joke. its not a dick, no need to take it this hard.

Itbewhatitbe

Rob, i get what youre trying to say, but i have to be honest. every time i see your comment, all you ever do is complain and talk down about S&G. like im not saying youre doing it on purpose, but honestly you might be one of the most condescending person around here.

Tsuyama

you are very rude Rob Church.

Rob Church

Itbewhatitbe That just isn't true, so I don't know what you are reading into. Criticizing films and the poll system isn't "being rude", it's something the channel needs to work on. I challenge you to find another comment where I "talk down to" S&G. Being a fan doesn't mean just sitting silently, clapping like a seal every time they make a post.

Rachel W

Seriously, Scooby Doo? How bout Rosemary's Baby and Angel Heart?

Rachel W

Oh it's much more than a handful! I always hated SD, even as a little little kid.

Rachel W

Megan sucked do to lead actress complete inability to act.

robodong

you know how just cause theres healthy salads or gourmet michelin star restaurants available in the city, sometimes you just really want a greasy cheese burger cause it reminds you of happy childhoods? its like that.

Rob Church

Ampersander7 What did I get myself into...😆 The parasocials are coming after me.

Victor Fiegel

Rob, I couldn't agree more! He's just trolling you. That's what "Itbewhatitbe" does. He changes his name(like a coward) and looks to antagonize people in the comment section. Yesterday he was doing this as "lordoflondon." I think him and fish pizza guy are a little tag team. They even swap jokes/insults

Rob Church

I'm not surprised, not the first time I've been harassed on here by someone who changes their name to follow people around.

Raymond DeGraw

Very nice poll... Looking forward to seeing the winner... Hoping to see these in the future... 1. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) 2. Get Shorty 3. R.E.D. 4. Fallen 5. Secondhand Lions

sarCC

I don't know. I'm still waiting for RRR which came in second to Run Lola Run.

jay

YES!!!

David N

I am almost always disappointed by the choices offered and the winners for the polls but that's not why i'm here. I come here for good reactions by people who I enjoy listening to. The polls will never get better; there are far too many young people that don't know what good is and we all need to accept that. Just focus on what makes you subscribe in the first place (fun personalities and great editing for me) and ignore whatever it is that you dislike that's built up around it.

Itbewhatitbe

i dunno what you consider "young people" but they did a poll not long ago and the majority are 35+. sometimes people just want to watch a goofy silly movie form their childhood. not every movie needs to be a deep thinking oscar winner or even the "best", sometimes the most fun is enough 🤷‍♂️

Geoff Walsh

Dude, Candyman is the very definition of a horror movie!

Terry Light

I just wish someone besides myself knew about the movie Bunraku from 2010. Josh Bartlett, woody Harrelson Ron Pearlmam, demi moore. Its a visual art piece in my opinion. Like it was all filmed on a stage

Fattydoe

Love that movie.

Fattydoe

Scooby doo might be the worst movie on this poll in my opinion, and its winning lmao.

Opti_Frog

This whole situation is starting to remind me of the time Storm Akima's patreon got hacked, or whatever i should call it. Week upon week, all the mediocre movies won polls because someone was using a ton of fake user names. They posted lots and lots of mediocre movie recommendations under many, many different names. Not only that, but they could use anyone's patron name to post comments. It was pretty disturbing when i got replies on my comments from my own username, complete with avatar. To be clear, i'm not saying that's what's happening here. But that experience made me sensitive to when surprisingly mediocre movies start winning patreon polls or get recommended.

Collinson

I think it may also be because of the cast and one of the reactors love for one of them.

Collinson

I really don't get how people aren't looking at the cast and realising people are voting this way because one of the reactors really likes one of them. Seriously guys it's not that deep people want to see these guys see one of their favourite people in a film. That's it.

Collinson

It was pretty popular and successful enough to get a sequel.

Collinson

Ahh didn't realise it was A24. That's a shame.

Collinson

I mean it also stars a certain person one of the reactors really likes and people will vote for the film for that reason.

Collinson

Scooby Doo has plenty of adult jokes the kids wouldn't get. There's likely two reasons it's winning. One it was a main stream success way more people have heard of and two it stars someone who one of the reactors loves. Those two thing effect the vote.

Jimi Hart

I think ppl need to chill. Maybe consider that not everyone’s favourite movies are gonna be movies that Simone and George haven’t seen. And that they also have films THEY think they’d enjoy and thus make for great viewing.

Dirge Girl

It has Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, etc.) as The Narrator... ... c'mon, son! 8D>

Jacob King

Young people? Have you seen any poll with an 80s movie on it? The problem with the polls has nothing to do with any particular demographic it’s just a problem with the way large groups of people vote. (Especially with everyone doing multiple votes). The flip side to the wisdom of crowds is the poor taste of the masses. Individually most people have excellent taste and prefer high quality entertainment but the more people you have in a group the lower the common denominator.

Dustin Duvall

For sure, I didn't want to come off too whiny lol

Jacob King

The Count of Monte Cristo is a great movie. I think because it didn’t do well at the box office it gets overlooked but Cinebinge has already done The Mummy, The Mask of Zorro and Pirates of the Caribbean so they’ve nearly ticked off the micro genre of millennial swashbucklers, it would be a shame to skip it.

Raymond DeGraw

Agreed... They also watched V for Vendetta, which talks about the older Count of Monte Cristo. When V is watching it, I believe neither George or Simone has seen or knew of it.

maikeru

Casualties of War (1989)

nicosmiles

scooby doo is a cult classic lmao im interested in your guys reactions

Geoff Walsh

Fair enough. Whether you find the movie scary or not is in the eye of the beholder. Although I would say that Candyman is one of the only movies I can think of that genuinely scares the crap out of me.

shaneth138

Just admit you voted for a terrible movie because you are too scared of scary movies. Nobody in that cast is good.

UnlicensedOkie

Call me nostalgic, but I have a soft spot for the live action Scooby doo movies. They’re not good, but they’re not bad either. Especially the first one.

Jefferson Smith

Opti_Frog: Your lack of self awareness is astounding

Jefferson Smith

I believe you have the ability to answer that one yourself, but hey, I could be wrong. Simple is tough for some people.

Martin

Don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed in a group of cinema lovers as I currently am for the 600+ Scooby-Doo voters that ruined our chance to watch Simone hyperventilate from fear watching Smile. Keep your eye on the ball, people.

Chris Foster

I don't understand why people feel the need to complain about a poll. If the movie they react to isnt for you, wait for the next one. If it keeps happening, stop watching and cancel your Patreon. These guys are my favourite reactors but I sometimes skip certain movies. They can't always choose your favourites.

Lachlan Caldwell

I remember being obsessed with Casper back when it was in theatres, and I maintain it had nothing to do with the massive crush I gad on Christina Ricci back then.

Lachlan Caldwell

I saw The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) back when it was in the cinema and can confirm it's a great movie. Appearances by Professor Dumbledore (Richard Harris) and a young Superman (Henry Cavill).

Cory Morrison

If you people don’t like Scooby Doo, simply don’t comment about it. It’s their channel and they can watch what they want.

Billy Ostrander

I was genuinely about to vote for Smile but after reading these salty comments hating on Scooby Doo I gotta vote for it instead. Why do you all hate Scooby?

Billy Ostrander

I feel like most people voted for it specifically because it's terrible, sounds like a fun watch with friends

FischerMax98

Scooby Doo? You are gonna react to Scooby Doo? YES!!

Dan Holmes

I don’t like Scooby Doo

Opti_Frog

Not wholly without reason. Something smells fishy. And i've seen poll manipulation before.

Kyle B

Does anyone else get annoyed at Scooby-Doo when it betrays its roots by having the supernatural stuff be real in the narrative? The gang busting a charlatan using superstition to deceive someone for money is much more up my alley and in-line with other mystery properties, that I think Scooby-Doo takes inspiration (though comedic), like Sherlock and Hercule Poirot stories.

James Kennedy

Smile has gotta be one of the most overrated horror movies I’ve seen in years though. Hopefully the sequel is better, I haven’t seen it yet

sarCC

I've heard people say the sequel is alot better...but it's also the exact same premise and still stupid.

RLYtoxic

Candyman lost to Scooby Doo movie. Oof, that one hurts.

RLYtoxic

We just gonna have to take this one in the teeth and power forward to better movies and brighter days ahead.

wertnez

Yeah this one made me sad. Candyman is one of the best horror movies of the 90's.

Amar

It came 2nd so it will still be on Thursday.

The Dark Unknown

so after getting upset by a bunch of haters you decide to become one?

robodong

you are straight up digging polls long past its completion to complain lmao, talk about pathetic. but judging by the fact that you have a Patreon with 800+ posts but zero subs, im guessing pathetic is a state you're pretty accustomed to being in. this is just sad.

m

Who, pray tell, do you think is manipulating the precious polls of reactors? The underground fanbase all subscribing to this channel so they can show everyone that the movie deserves at least 5.5 on imdb? It's not too complicated. Most audiences on these channels are young. Scooby Doo is something lots of kids have seen, quality be damned. It gets voted on. Not everything has to be a huge conspiracy when the explanation is waiting right there, shit, even Flubber might have one that poll. >I've seen poll manipulation before With the original "this poll has been manipulated"-seal and everything? How would you even begin to know?
