Ep 1 ends a few seconds early due to a literal last second phone call interruption, we then realize there was like 3 seconds left so we didn't bother rolling back to catch that last bit, hence the cut.

Best part of my week is back!

Martin Roca

I hopw you can return to Black mirror, last season is amazing.

Onno Smits

Aw man! I was really looking forward to your reaction to those last three seconds of episode one! Best three seconds of the episode, by far. So much happens. Huge reveals. Massive developments. Now we'll never know what you thought about it.

Cinebinge

we did watch it, and our thoughts were: ".... ..... .... oh, okay."

Onno Smits

Riveting! Thanks for the update. 👍

newhastings

jeff was the cab driver that took jimmy home from the hospital in season 4!

newhastings

also they got the vacuum guy back since vince gilligan was filming el camino at the time and they already had the store set reconstructed

Jeff I.

Eh, I just finished it yesterday, and I'd say three episodes were good (but not great) and the other three were just okay/average (not worth a full reaction). None of them reached the best episodes of the first three seasons, but they also weren't as bad as the worst of BM like that terrible werewolf episode.

Monica Alarcon

"the guy who looks like a Swordsman" He litteraly IS The Swordsman in the MCU!!

Inkpendude

and I think he died after that :(

Carlos H

i want a refund for those missing 3 seconds!

Benfica Sarajevo

The previously on BCS is screwing my synch with Netflix

Mike Medaugh

To clarify, you don't meet Saul through Mike; you meet Mike through Saul. Walt and Jesse go to meet Saul to get Badger out of jail, which happens early in Season 2 of *Breaking Bad*. Later, Mike shows up at Jesse's house after Jane dies at the end of season 2 . Saul does not know Gus. He is only aware that Mike works for a significant drug lord, but he doesn't know any details beyond that. Of course, Gus is well aware of Saul.

Mike Medaugh

And now you know why Domingo is call Karzy 8 in breaking bad. Are you fucking kidding me with that last comment of episode 2 George?

Carlos H

you should get Cinnabon for 6x01. It would be a great way to celebrate the last season.

Cartoons ReAct

Mike showed up later as it was supposed to be Saul showing up, but scheduling conficts wouldn't let Bob Odenkirk to be on the episode and they created Mike

Cartoons ReAct

We need Community reactions now, can't remember all but at least both Giancarlo Esposito(Gus) and Jonathan Banks(Mike) are part of Community late seasons

Jeff K.

And fried chicken, of course. Gotta have a balanced meal.

Jeff K.

Correct, El Camino was Robert Forster's final performance. He actually died the day that El Camino came out.

Paul Mix

Yes, and be prepared for even more impactful differences from the blu-ray copy, which has some completely different scene transitions from whatever copy G&S are reacting to, throwing off the timing by many seconds. For example, in episode 1 at the 32;57;01 printed timestamp, their copy has a cut to black followed by a dissolve, where the blu-ray immediately cuts to the next scene. The commercial "breaks" also slightly differ in length.

TGrimace

Now you know how Crazy 8 got his name.....

Monica Alarcon

They've both made references to Community before so they've probably already seen it.

Rev

I was going to say: I agree, George. Tony Dalton DOES look like Swordsman.

Philipp Roensch

Welcome back Saul, Simone and George! A great start to this season. Oh Kim is struggling to justify rolling with Jimmy, your equation with smoking is not that far off. And I hope you love Lalo as much as I do, he might seem like just the replacement threat, but he is so much more, mostly more charismatic than previous Salamancas. Interesting question there, would you play poker with your criminal connections? Would you want to be found a good or bad pokerface? Let's not forget, Crazy 8/Emillio becomes a DEA informant later. I don't think lawyers, DA and judge wheel and deal quite like that in an elevator, but many cases, especially those done-deal small ones, are settled outside the court. Usually with more vigorous paperwork, though, if everybody cares about their job.

Ashton Lewis

It really was a great season. I thought season 6 was absolute hot dog water but they've returned to form this season. Hopefully Simone and George get round to it at some point

Vengeance

And some meth too. Only fitting…

Adam Vialpando

Yes of course. But in-universe it's supposed to be that Saul brought Mike in.

MarisoL

You think an elevator just happens to stop like that? No! Jimmy, he orchestrated it!

Joel

Just remember. Saul doesnt know who Gus is until well into Breaking Bad.

Stugotz

“There’s going to be a lot of very happy ants” Oh you have no idea! 😂

John

Stepped on means poor quality or deluded. I think this is a great excuse to rewatch a few seasons of The Wire though probably not on the channel,

Martin Roca

Yeah i think they missed it, i missed the first time too.

JBK405

I love the reveal that THIS is how Krazy-8 got his nickname. So small a thing, but when we're introduced to him in BB we think it's some sort of Badass Nickname From The Drug Trade. Simone I never want you to stop spinning theories, but the "stepped in" drugs in the first episode are specifically low-quality substitutes (he is trying to sell the story that he had some cocaine stolen and replaced them with whatever he could scrounge up). So bad that drug addicts are complaining about it, and Lalo could even identify it on sight. Gus has always emphasized Purity and Quality in his own manufactured products. One part of the entire angle him and his partner first proposed to Don Eladio was that they could make something pure right in Mexico without worrying about needing to smuggle it in from Columbia and get it diluted ("stepped in") along the way. Last season Gale proposed doing a rudimentary cook in the half-built lab and Gus said they wouldn't do anything until it was fully ready. With that history and standards, he would never expect low-quality meth to get him money or power. Apart from just the TV need for Nacho's dramatic parkour, it's important they retrieve the stash specifically to keep the police from finding it. 10 packages of cocaine in the gutter gets Krazy-8 arrested as a dealer. 50 packages of cocaine found in a stash house nearby gets him arrested as somebody with connections to the larger organization. That brings higher government attention, that gets his "known associates" investigated, etc. We saw the number of cops that showed up to raid the stash house. Finding more drugs -- even if it's not THAT much more -- gets that same police organization active in a way that "This guy had some drugs" doesn't. It's the difference between a case that Saul Goodman can plead down to a few months in jail, and a case that the DA forces to go to trial because they want to BREAK him to get more info. Plus, money is money. Greed never stops.

SpankTheMonk

With all the crazy stuff in Episode 1 of Season 5. The makeup artist college student wearing an obvious 1980s professional wear is hilarious. I think that was unintentional the Jimmy “Fake DA” incident, what Kim did was the proactive part and she is dealing with what she did.

2026-09-05 05:00 Episode 2, Saul is right now a slippery person, the bad people are still bad. Saul Breaks bad eventually though. I disagree a bit, he can see, but often he is more about fixing in the moment, or asking for forgiveness - like the house tour and the apology for the 50%. So in the scope of what they earn yes what they would loose in the drug raid is tiny, but you see how difficult it is to get the drugs into the country- they don’t make it in the USA. So it is a pain to not have their stuff on the street. Interesting you don’t get hooked on the charisma of Lalo (character/actor) off the back- I am one of those people it isn’t about his actions (future) it for me is the charisma of the actor, and I believe that is why people have been excited.

I’m so happy to learn that the granddaughter is an EAGLES fan! Go Birds! E! A! G! L! E! S! Eagles! But then the moment was spoiled when Mike blew up at her. It was wrong, but a somewhat understandable outburst given all that he’s been dealing with and keeping closed up inside, especially with what happened with Werner. Mouthing sounds is VERY annoying.

droodly

Vince Gilligan cameos in an episode of season 5 (the season Mike is a recurring character) as well!

MacGuffinStuff

Fug that dude, it's poker, boss or not, anyone who's a real player would resent someone losing to them on purpose. You're probably damned either way though. Sorry I was just thinking of Rounders.

jon smith

Please don't use TV rips of the episodes, try to find proper copies please.

Inkpendude

I think a lot of non spanish speakers won't get it because they don't really translate that part, they just say ocho loco

Vengeance

I’d support a reaction to Rounders!!!

Actuarial Lurker

Resounding YES to Rounders AND you are supposed to play well with coworkers who may be sizing up your ability for senior management- bluffing, no tells, gracious winner and gracious loser etc

Actuarial Lurker

Agree that Saul does NOT think more than 1-2 steps ahead and his choices have long run consequences. Same fault as Walter who MacGyvered his way out of short-term problems but constantly was 1 step forward and 2 back. Gus and Mike think 4-5 steps ahead- UNTIL revenge takes over and Hector got to Gus with Walters help due to no forethought

Monica Alarcon

I usually don't like to complain about stuff but I have to agree this time. It's not just the "previously" part at the beginning but there's some edits or maybe commercial breaks during the episode that makes you have to resynch several times...

mky

I don't thiink you're giving Kim the "credit" (blame, really) that she deserves. Kim can make her own decisions, but whenever she makes a bad one, more often than not, you excuse her and blame Jimmy. When it comes to Kim and Jimmy, I feel like you're watching "Better Blame Jimmy" instead of "Better Call Saul". I don't know, it just feels that way to me. 🤷‍♂️ Needless to say, you guys are great and I love watching your reactions. Cheers!

mky

BTW, Jimmy suggests they watch "After Hours" for their dinner and movie thing. "After Hours" is a great Scorsese movie that is unlike any of his others (that I've seen). I think I've recommended "After Hours" once i a while, but I'm guessing not enough other patrons have chimed in for it to get on any polls. No worries (but great movie). Cheers!

Vengeance

I’ve mentioned this before. Just a minor complaint but a valid one IMO. It is easy to get stuck in the trap of “Well we know Jimmy ends up as a bad guy, so he’s obviously a bad influence on Kim.” When that’s only half true. Maybe a bad analogy, but one I’ve seen firsthand in my life. Kim’s like the addict who didn’t know she was. Jimmy gave her her first hit, and now she’s hooked. She’s tries to fight it, but ultimately gives because she wanted too. And it causes her to slip back in easier and easier. Yes, it’s Jimmy’s fault for getting her hooked in the first place, but an addict is an addict. Kim needs to take responsibility and break the cycle herself, but they clearly love each other. Something’s gotta give first. But what?

BangDroid

How is this not a spoiler?

Justin Leone

George, I don't think this is the first time you've said that Lalo reminds you of a swordsman, but you haven't mentioned the Hawkeye miniseries. If you haven't seen that yet, I think you'd be happy with the casting.

Cinebinge

Oh I've seen it, but I found it forgettable, in that I remember almost nothing from it haha, not even Lalo in it.

Adam

We first met Saul through Walter when he goes to Sauls office to talk about badger after he got picked up for dealing

Josh

It’s funny you making excuses for Kim. A grown intelligent woman who’s going along with everything and kinda likes it. She’s not innocent.

robodong

they literally said "shes just as guilty" multiple times across multiple episodes/seasons. and at the end of the day, she is full on, a better person than jimmy. the show has time and time again shown very clearly that jimmy talks her into doing things, even if she enjoys it, its always her initially pulling back then gets talked into it, however quickly. and outside of those events, she goes out of her way to do things for other peoples benefit, like pro bono cases, where as jimmy is only ever looking out for himself. you can count on 1 hand the amount of times hes done something purely for the sake of altruism, and half of those times its AFTER the damages he caused.

Thall

Don't bother, same shit happened during breaking bad, lol

Thall

I feel like Kim feels really gross, but not about what she is doing, but how much she is liking it. It's like discovering a new kink. It should disgust her, she knows it should, but it doesn't.

Re: George wanting a police scanner - there are apps that let you choose from tons of them from all over the the place. I was listening to them for a while, but Simone is right. There is a ton of dead air, and really boring stuff. 99%+ of the time, it's just annoying noise, and it gets really old. Also, a lot of the actual chatter is nearly impossible to make out. It's all staticy, and/or garbled.
