love that Simones main complaint was it's going to take chucky way to long to murder the teacher

This was a fun watch. And you're right, the movie knows what it is. I do prefer the first one though, as it feels more... grounded in reality? I don't know, it just seemed to feel less cartoony than this. The movements of the doll definitely did improve though, as you said.

M3GAN 2.0 is out soon so for more killer doll action you should watch the first M3GAN

I enjoyed this movie a lot. The ruler scene was a bit silly, though the air pump to the chest with the teacher was cool and brutal. I liked Childs Play 3. I really like the opening of it a lot. I would still recommend it. Bride of Chucky is when the franchise really starts getting weird. But Seed of Chucky, well you'll see. Seed of Chucky has Billy Boyd though which is awesome. Definitely Recommend going through the franchise in order. Curse of Chucky was unique, it's both a sequel and reboot from what I recall. Been a while since I've seen it. But I recommend it also. Childs Play 2019 is a full on reboot. But it was pretty cool. I liked it more than I expected to. They did something pretty different with it.

I love all the Child's Play movies, except the garbage remake. Also the Chucky series is pretty solid, for the first two seasons.

I think Child's play 3 is worth it to watch, they're all good in their own way. Also if your looking for good horror comedy I can't recommend "The Monkey" enough. Absolutely my favorite movie of this year so far

The scent of film and TV is all over this RUM. Smells like freaking tee ah WANNA

Sounds like you two have interest in moving onto some of the other movies. While I think everyone who commented about part 3 for the first Child's Play reaction is in agreenment it's not the strongest of the first 3, some begged you to skip it, others said to watch it as it's not that bad. I'm in the latter. If you like Chucky so far, you wont mind 3. It sort of mixes up things a bit and I appreciate that, but by no means is it a dud. I'm bias tho, I love Chucky LOL Plus the one after that is pretty solid and if you did skip 3 you'll feel like you missed something. It's not a big thing, context will catch you up, but IDK, theyre all just fun.

It's been a long time since I've seen these movies, but I don't remember the third one being *that* bad. It's weak compared to the first and second, but it's not terrible. And I love the movie that come after it. You're right. These movies know what they are, and they don't pretend to be anything else. That's what makes them so entertaining.

I don’t know why I know this but the line “you’ve seen dolls that pee? well this one bleeds”; in the early 90s maybe late 80s; there was this Help Out program in California for helping Young Mothers and Young Dads on how to change diapers so they made both Male and Female pee dolls. CP 3 is alright, Bride of CHUCKY is good.

That was a really fun watch! Kyle was a really good character, we got just the right amount of hints at her backstory to "get her" without going into the whole rebellious teenager cliche. Instead Andy got a cool big sister to look out for him in place of his mom. The scenes they had together before Chucky did his thing had actual realistic sibling vibes.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

The factory sequence at the end is the high point of the series for me, plastic & gore galore! And while I agree that Alex Vincent’s (Andy) best acting moment was him pleading in the 1st movie, I appreciate that this one trusts him to hold more screen time. Pretty underrated as far as child actors go. Unfortunately they aged up Andy in the 3rd one, so the character gets recasted. 3rd movie feels like a step down from 1 & 2, from what I remember it felt sluggish despite the similarly short runtime. Luckily the series picks up some energy with “Bride of Chucky”, amping up the comedic elements. Least favorite in the series goes to “Seed of Chucky”, but it looks like it has its fans among this community.

I say go for all the Chuckys and don't skip 3

This behind the scenes clip gives a sense of how much work went into Chucky (that voice-over 😠😠) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78_ZSlfuT58 I don't think any of the Chucky movies are bad. 3 and Seed are definitely the weakest but for me, Curse and Cult are where it's at for the sequels. Really hope yous get there eventually.

I'm so glad you are continuing the "Child's Play" franchise. While this one is my favorite of the whole series, the other ones for the most part are really not bad. Chucky is my favorite of the horror franchise killers, sitting above Michael Myers, Jason Voorhes, Freddy Krueger and the like. They're campy fun that never tries to be something it's not, and there's some really solid technical work in them. Plus, Chucky finds himself hilarious, and I love him laughing at his own jokes. "Eat dirt, Tommy!"

I was very surprised and pleased to see that Alex Vincent was brought back for the role of Andy. Very often, with movies like this, especially back then, all the returning characters are recast. The lovely Jenny Agutter, who plays the foster mother, Joanne, was also in “An American Werewolf in London” (1981) but I guess you didn’t recall her from there. She is English but hides her accent fairly well here. I only heard it slip a few times. She plays one of the shadowy World Security Council members in "The Avengers" (2012) and is more clearly seen in the same role in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" (2014). Black Widow is seen using her likeness at one point when she removes the “mask” of her face before confronting Pierce (Robert Redford). I wish Agutter had more to do in this movie, but she has a bigger role in 1976’s classic sci-fi movie “Logan’s Run.” She is excellent in the 1971 Australian movie “Walkabout” as a then 16-year-old. The movie is a bit disturbing at times, and I don’t know I’d recommend it for a reaction here, but it is very much worth a watch. I’ve also seen her in “Equus (1977)” for which she won a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress. I highly recommend that film. It is also a bit disturbing, but should be watched. Grace Zabriskie, who plays the social worker “Grace Poole,” worked with David Lynch in two of his movies and in the Twin Peaks series as the mother of the famously murdered Laura Palmer. She was also in Armageddon (1998). Greg Germann, who played the toy company executive who was bagged before he could creepily celebrate his two-week anniversary, was also in "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" (2006) as Larry Dennit, Jr., the race car owner who disliked Ricky Bobby. Chucky clearly doesn't know much or appreciate nice cars, as he calls the 1988 BMW 735i that the toy executive was driving a "piece of shit"! Indeed, it is a rather high-end luxury model. Gerrit Graham who plays the foster father Phil, is excellent in one of the (very few) good episodes of “Star Trek: Voyager” (sorry, not sorry, it’s a crappy series). Speaking of, the character of the foster father clearly was not interested in having children in the home, at all! He said he could “get used to” Andy! And he wanted to give Andy some Valium! What the hell?? He just has a really bad attitude, especially considering what Andy has been through. He’s very pissy and impatient, to say the least. Quite unlike Joanne who was very tolerant and understanding! Well, until Phil is killed. And why didn't the foster parents take Andy to school on his first day? Poor kid just keeps getting thrown in the deep end. George, you noted the “Mutt and Jeff” names on the liquor store. That sounded familiar to me, but I couldn't place it. Turns out it's the name of comic strip that was published between 1907 to 1983! Not what I was thinking of at all, but it is surely a reference to that cartoon. The comic strip is referenced in many other movies and TV shows as well, including Twin Peaks and The Simpsons! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutt_and_Jeff#In_popular_culture The foster daughter Kyle, played by Christine Elise, was surprisingly non-annoying. I think the actor, who was 25 years old at the time, was a little too old to be playing 17, but she did a fine job and of course that sort of thing is not uncommon. For someone who seems rather polite and not much of a troublemaker *at all,* her being bounced around in “dozens” of foster homes seems really unreasonable. I remember seeing Elise in a number of TV show back in the 1980s and 1990s. I wonder if this movie was sort of a indictment of the US foster home system? Maybe the writers or whoever had a bad experience with such an institution. My sister had a toy doll that could “pee.” I think you just filled a small chamber with water and it sort of dribbled out so you could change the toy diaper. Simone, Chucky should definitely not have smashed through the car's windshield! Especially as Kyle just braked the car (and not all that violently). It would have made a little more sense for that to have happened when she crashed. The toy factory is VERY cartoony, like something out of Looney Toons. The pre-exploded Chucky near the end looked like a pile of partially-digested cheese and Simone your expressions when he exploded were priceless! Anyway, this was a lot of fun and I found it much more entertaining than Pitch Black which was just too much of a slog and somehow even cheaper looking than I originally thought, compared to this!

I've seen the first and third movies a lot over the years, but I hadn't seen this one since I was a kid. The director and Cinematographer made such great use of wide angle lenses. There's a lot of low angle close-ups where the lense is so wide you can see the image starting to go fisheye on the sides and it's damned effective at building tension in a static shot. One of the best examples is when the counselor is talking to Andy before they take him away after Phil's murder. Speaking of the counselor, the photocopier was such a twisted touch to her death. It wasn't until rewatching this that I remembered the crush I had on Christine Elise (Kyle) when I was a kid. She had a recurring role on 90210, with kind of a punk look and it definitely woke something up in me at a young age. I haven't seen the Chucky TV series yet, but I remember hearing that they brought her character back for it.

Last of the Joehicans

Hey we didn't get Catherine Hicks in this sequel, but we'll get her in another sequel, one of my favorites, of a series that will eventually go where no one has gone before.

Last of the Joehicans

These movies are fun, but I have to say, if you like this, you need to check out Ash Vs Evil Dead, that show is everything you love about the Evil Dead movies and more. Cancelled too soon, a jem in our horror corrupted hearts.

Blkm44

Really enjoying these reactions. And I hope you all watch and enjoy the entire franchise, it’s great. I have a special place in my heart for the 3rd film because it was the first Childs Play I saw in theaters

Logan Kerlee

I enjoyed watching this with you both. :) I knew that I'd already seen this from the beginning but I didn't remember all of the details from the movie - so watching this reaction was a lot of fun regardless. :) Solid reaction, you two! :)

Brian's Dog

Surely there was a Halloween costume where someone wore the doll on their back holding them hostage.

Dragonhunter

Yeah that's also one I'm really hoping for one day. Would be so much fun to see that again.
