Fight Club (1999) - Patreon Version

btw there's a theory that Marla is also product of imagination of Edward Norton's head, she is just girly version of Tyler and nobody throwing her out from clearly only male groups... and etc

You can make arguments that there's nothing at all happening in the story except a man without a name making things up in his head, but is that useful? Does characters and events being imaginary make it a better story? I prefer my own theory, that Fight Club is Calvin & Hobbes 20 years later. "Jack" is Calvin and when Hobbes/Tyler says he's just an imaginary friend, he's lying.

It’s been years since I have seen this. I saw it in theaters at release, and had no idea what I was in for. So far you guys are really getting into it, and are picking up on the little…idiosyncrasies the movie has.

Ahh nice nice nice, so tonight Fight Club and Pizza 😁 thanks for reacting to my most beloved movie 😍

Well, Actually... "He slept in a plastic crib, and for the nametag, Aday's father asked a nurse to write “Meat,” because he looked like “nine-and-a-half pounds of ground chuck.” The nametag indeed read “Meat,” and that became his childhood nickname. The “loaf” part came when he was a heavyset teenage football player."

That last scene is just about perfect IMO, second only to the end of Empire Strikes Back.

God I love this movie, and Helena Bonham Carter; this might be my favorite Fincher movie so far. Thanks to the fellow Bingers for voting for this and thanks for another great reaction by our cinema pilgrims. Especially got a kick out of seeing George kind of figure it out, Marla's confused reactions to "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Jekyll" are the best giveaway in retrospect, but the genius is that watching you likely just chalk it up to her craziness. And the Pixies' "Where Is My Mind" in that moment is metaperfection cubed. Oh, have to take this chance to plug another great movie with Brad Pitt fighting (and shirtless for Simone), "Snatch", is so fun, probably my favorite Guy Ritchie movie so far.

This here is the reason that I resubbed. I remember voting for this a good while back and I'm very happy to see this reaction. :) I haven't watched - yet, but once I do I'll definitely be typing a book of a comment in response. xD This was hands down my favorite movie as a teenager to young adult. I first watched this when I was 12 or so. I remember laughing and cringing throughout. Was I too young? YOU BETCHA! Did I grasp the deeper meanings throughout? OF COURSE NOT! Did I enjoy the movie? ABSOLUTELY, I DID. It wasn't until years later when I was 14 and in high school that I made a friend named Chris. He was one cool dude. Tall, giant of a man. He was quiet and kept to himself. Him and I became fast friends in any case and he introduced the movie to me again. We enjoyed it but he did on another level. He introduced the book to me, written by Chuck Palahniuk. I read his copy and really enjoyed the read. The book and film are quite similar. Same characters, most of the same events and similar surprises. If either of you are keen to read something dark and funny I suggest that you check the book out. It's a fun, quick read, At 224 pages, it only takes a few hours to mow through. It's well worth it though! :) I'll be enjoying your reaction sometime later tonight. I'm looking forward to it! :)

"Meatloaf? Like the singer? Or literally a meatloaf?" "Obviously the singer; can you imagine if it's just like a meatloaf on a table and they talk to it and stuff?" "Weirder things have happened." "Like what?" Like this, Simone: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1612774/
